(back at castle redmont, Hal's crew have unpacked and stowed gear, they are all at a small welcome feast)

"So, are there any pirates, smugglers, moonderkers in the area? Anyone need to get somewhere?"

Hal had been questioning Halt about the goings on in Redmont.

*Sigh*

"Why do young people always ask more than one question? No, no, no and no. For the moment, all it is, is patrolling the general area."

Halt sounded irritated, Hal thought. But why? While he had been thinking this, Hal had failed to notice the huge grin and carefully smothered laughter that was threatening to force its way onto Will's face. Meanwhile, Thorn had resorted to his teasing of Lydia. This time it was about the extremely unlucky teenager who was sitting next to lydia.

"I thought you liked stiggy-boy over here! Not Ugly face Next to you" taunted Thorn who had indicated the rapidly reddening

Stig. The poor boy Next to Lydia had actually been making longing faces at her. He thought of himself as 'popular with the ladies" but Lydia was far from a lady,

"And I thought you were a warrior, old man." Lydia challenged in a haughty voice.

The conversation, or more, the argument had been going on for quite some time now. Lydia was starting to think she should resort to her old tactic of 'shut up old man' which usually worked, for the most part anyway.

But before Lydia could get the words out, Thorn had another crushing reply ready,

"Yes I did think that at first, until I became the mat'tig for Three Years In A Row."

"Shut up old man." Lydia played her trump card. And this time, Thorn just couldn't argue.
