A/N: So we have finally arrived at the reunion part. First, I wanted to write it in interchangeable POV's, but then decided to go only with Drakken's.

And the day of the reunion has finally come. They flew in on a chartered jet curtesy of the boss lady and that already got them the attention of the local press. What garnered considerably more publicity was the hovercar that parked at the hotel roof. Both decided that it was a worthy demonstration of being different from everybody else and a fast gateway if things go south for some reason.

The schedule for the reunion weekend started with Friday evening, when everybody was supposed to settle in. Saturday was left to relaxation and mingling while enjoying what the town and hotel were to offer and the latter included spa, pool, golf course and other sport facilities. Sunday was reserved for the excursion of the university campus in the morning and the reception in the evening.

Drakken was pleasantly surprised when Shego, instead of jumping at the chance of free spa sessions, remained by his side citing her responsibilities of a devoted girlfriend for the weekend. Moreover, she was wearing a summer dress. There were no flowers on it or anything frilly, but she looked soft and feminine. Which was a first. Shego seemed to take the whole appearance angle very seriously. What exactly was she going for? Normal?

Going downtown was not a safe choice, not that they wanted to see anything in Middleton, so they remained at the hotel enjoying cold drinks and leisure walks on the territory. It was the first time for Drakken with no need to do or plan anything in months, if not years. And so he entertained Shego with funny stories about familiar people who passed them.

He was in the middle of an anecdote about a particularly funny explosion, when he felt Shego sag against his body. The action was so atypical to always battle-ready Shego that he didn't first know if it actually happened, but when her legs gave out and they had to sit down on the lawn, Drakken knew that something was seriously wrong.

"What's going on, Shego dear?"

"Adrian… Adrian is here." Drakken never saw Shego scared, but at that moment she sounded relatively panicked.

"Are you sure? He couldn't possibly have attended M.I.S.T."

"Yeah… Just went inside with a curvy blond."

"You want to… confront him… while being cool?"

"I am not ready. I… can't. The way he hurt me… I don't know if I ever be over it. The funniest thing is that nobody even checked what I was worth. I have a 25 million trust fund and my family practically owned Go city, I had so many connections, he should've worshipped me to advance his career. All he and his family saw was an ex-superhero turned looser with anger control issues and dangerous to people around her."

"We have time to think of the strategy. At least till lunch. Seems kinda fated for us to get our revenge at the same time, don't you think, Shego?"

"I… have no idea what to say to him…"

Drakken has never seen Shego so lost and… vulnerable. In their business arrangement, it was she whose obligation was to protect him from external threats like Kim Possible. Her physical capabilities made her practically indestructible and even if there were moments when she was ill, she preferred to hide in her room till the things returned to normal. But what about the moments her pain was not physical? Were those the times when she left for her vacations? To hide from people who knew her, to regroup and return as if nothing had happened?

Looking at her now, Drakken had an uncontrollable desire to protect her. To kiss her to show that he cared. So he did. Because he could. For the next two days he was allowed to do as he pleased. A relationship with an expiration date… now that is something that could happen only to him.

"Feeling better?" he asked, peeling Shego away from the kiss. It was alarming how she couldn't control herself even if it was he who lost himself in the kiss each and every time. The whole phenomenon was puzzling, even more so was Shego's conviction that it was his fault. The hypothesis could be easily overthrown if she kissed somebody else. Both Dan and Paul were right there, but she didn't even think about testing the most obvious theory. Why?..

"Doy, the endorphins' boost was exactly what the doctor ordered. Thanks." And she smiled at him. The same precious smile from the UN ceremony. Drakken didn't think he would ever see it again.

"So are we going to avoid… him?"

"Pretty much. I think, I'll manage to gather myself till the moment we run into him, which seems inevitable."

"Alright." Drakken stood up from the lawn and extended his arm to help Shego up. Not because she needed any help, but his mother brought him up a gentleman, so… Surprisingly, Shego accepted his help (even if she did not look in any way dizzy) and did not let of his hand while they continued their walk on the grounds.

When Shego shared with him the reason of her turn to villainy, Drakken was shocked beyond measure. Firstly, because of how similar their stories were - thwarted by the people they cared for. Secondly… it was hard to imagine Shego who devoted herself to a single person like that. She must've really loved Adrian to forsake her own family for him. What was so special about him for Shego to act so? But he hurt her and there is no one more dangerous than a woman scorned. And she remained like that for years to come, not allowing anybody to be truly close to her. Was there no chance for Shego to…open her heart again?

"Still using a system's glitch to be where you are not wanted?"

Drakken took a deep breath to calm himself before answering the person behind him. The person, whose voice he instantly recognized despite hearing it so sparsely during the last years.

"And you must be going senile, Possible, forgetting that I did finish my master's studies, before walking out on you buffoons. And since this is an alumni reunion, I have all the right to be here, particularly since I was invited." Drakken inwardly praised himself on the calm delivery of his speech. Possible became a particular itch he couldn't rid of since he found out it was his descendant, who wreaked havoc in his lairs and destroyed his plans. "And what about you? How are the renovations going?"

"Renovations?"

"On your house." Drakken was supposed to be cool and take the higher ground, but he just couldn't… He had to hit where it hurt.

"Oh well… It wasn't salvageable, so we procured another. A lot of memories were destroyed with that house." And now Possible was blaming him. Typical.

"Well, considering how many lairs of mine your darling daughter destroyed, I am quite aware of your… distress. Millions thrown onto the wind and all that. Memories too, of course. Every lair was like a child to me."

"What can you possibly know about raising children?! And you dare to show your face here after all you've done?! And stag to boot!"

After what he has done?! Neither of those idiots showed any remorse for laughing him out of college, for destroying his scientific career, for making Drew Libsky disappear from the world! Of course, he couldn't know, but Drakken could bet Shego felt the same before her hand ignited at any provocation. His fists itched to land on Possible's face. Hard. But they were grownups, for God's sake, so Drakken managed to rein his anger. Even if he really, really wanted to throw a tantrum at least. "Firstly, I can be wherever I want to be. You are free to leave; nobody, most of all I, forces you to be in my company. Secondly, my girlfriend left for the restroom and will be here presently."

"The restroom excuse? Aren't we too old for that?" The righteous idiot didn't believe him!

"Stand here and wait then!" Gods, the man irritated him to no end.

Thankfully Shego (who indeed went to the restroom in the main hotel building) while Drakken waited for her outside, near the pool area, returned and pressed herself to his side in a very suggestive manner. Drakken thought, she was overdoing it a bit, but it served the purpose and he was not planning to complain either way.

"I think you've already met, but let's make proper introductions. This is my girlfriend Shego, and this is… James Possible."

"Oh yes, how's Kimmie these days?"

"Eh, well…" Possible was clearly lost for words. Either because he understood that Drakken was not lying about having a girlfriend or because the woman, who was beating up his daughter on a weekly basis, was asking about the latter's well-being. "She is studying in Europe."

"Good for us- I mean, good for her." Drakken squeezed Shego's elbow on the pretention, well not exactly, since he was embracing her, to indicate that she was most definitely overdoing it now.

They didn't discover where their conversation-confrontation was going to go next, since there was a commotion at the pool that was mostly deserted since it was lunch time. There was a large man in the pool, who was crying for help. He kept going under, having lost the ability to swim to the edge, probably from a cramp. For some reason, there was no lifeguard on duty.

Possible, the goody-two-shoes that he was, rushed towards the pool. Drakken and Shego followed on a more sedated pace. They still reached the pool, when Possible was taking off his shoes in preparation to jump in. Meanwhile the man went under again.

"Wait." Drakken dropped his jacket onto the pool tiles. Two vines went out if his back, one securing onto the lamp pole behind him for counterbalance and another speared into the water and encircled the man's waist. A second later, the man was out of the water and deposited at the nearest pool edge.

Possible dashed to perform CPR or whatever other reason, slipping on the wet tiles. Drakken hoped that he didn't need to take another body out. One was quite enough.

"Ramesh?!"

"Now you've done it," Shego muttered from behind him.

Drakken couldn't answer right away since all his senses were overwhelmed by Shego's gentle fingertips that were unceremoniously running under his T-shirt inspecting for tiers in the skin. He pulled the vines towards him to somehow gather himself to address the present situation. The less painful solution was just to run away. Possible could deal with the aftermath and be the hero as always. Yeah, that was the right way to deal with things.

"We need to go, Shego."

"You sure? You just saved one of the men, who destroyed your life. You at least deserve a proper thank you."

"I don't want to complicate things further-"

"Sometimes you are too good for your own good. At least stay until he doesn't have any water in his lungs."

"Okay. You, meanwhile, find a metal tub. We must burn the vines."

"Why?!"

"There are at least four people here who will kill for the samples."

"Got it."

While Shego was doing her job aka stealing whatever he needed, Drakken neared the pair of his former friends. Ramesh seemed to be better taking slow breaths and shaking from the shock from the bygones.

"Astronomy doesn't seem to keep you in shape, Ramesh." Yep, this is how his lizard brain decided to open up the dialog with the man who never believed in his abilities and whose life he saved moments before.

"Drew?!" Could Ramesh's eyes grow any bigger?

"You are not in Hell after a drowning in a hotel pool (the silliest death I heard of) and I am not haunting you for your sins against me. I am here in the flesh. As nightmarish as that must sound."

"What happened? I had a cramp and tried to get help, but nobody came and then…"

"Drew pulled you out… with his… vines?" Could Possible be more disbelieving? Was it because he did something unvillianous for a change or because he saw the vines for the first time?

"Hey! Is this one okay?" Shego to the rescue as always.

"Yes, Shego dear, this one is perfect. Put it on the water."

Drakken hurried to the tub that Shego put strategically at the opposite side from where the two men were still sitting at the pool's edge. What will he do without his loyal sidekick? He clipped the vines with a practiced gesture and put them into the tub.

"Light them up, Shego. Really hot stuff this time."

"But the tub will melt."

"Hopefully, the pool will cool it enough."

"Doy, but you are going there if your precious vines end up in the water."

"What a fascinating mutation…"

Drakken looked up to reply, but faced his jacket instead. He had nothing else to do, but to grab it wherever it was Possible's peace offering or not. "Everything about Shego is fascinating."

"Eeeeh, I was talking about the vines. I am aware of the talks about testing your textiles for astronauts' suits."

"These are different vines. Fabric is made from nonradioactive ones. Still… You plan to block us?"

"I am a scientist, Drew. I can't stop progress because of personal feelings. If the tests confirm its suitability, I can't do anything against it. I want people to be safe up there. …I will bring Ramesh to the hotel so he can rest. He wanted to… talk to you properly. Maybe you both can join us for lunch?"

"What has just happened?" Shego asked, when Possible left to assist Ramesh. "Is it what you meant for revenge, D? Having lunch together?"

"I have no idea, Shego. But we won't go if you deem it-"

"Oh, we'll go for sure. I bet Chen will be there too. So you'll get all the birds with one stone."

"You seem… displeased, Shego."

"I just didn't imagine you will be all… mature about that revenge of yours."

"You don't like that I am following your advice?"

"I am just pleasantly surprised. It's… fascinating." And there is that smile again. Drakken wished he could do more things to make her smile like that.

…..

The lunch was a strange affair indeed. Before they went down to the restaurant where it was served, Drakken insisted on Shego toning down her girlfriend behavior, because the men were generally stupid had they doctoral degrees or not, but there will be at least one woman at that table that was not so easy to fool – Ann Possible.

The beginning was awkward as it could be with Ramesh stumbling over the words of gratitude. He couldn't even look at Drakken and the savior didn't know if he should be pleased by making his ex-friend as ashamed as he was or angry that such disposition meant Ramesh was only fulfilling societal obligations and nothing actually changed between them. Ramesh still thought of him of as a loser. Or maybe not, but Ramesh didn't apologize for the past so… Drakken didn't know what to think. He never was good with people. Maybe Shego will explain to him later.

"We are not waiting for anybody else?" Drakken only managed to ask when Ramesh finished his mumbling and the lunch has been served. And there were still only two women at their table.

"Nah, divorced," Chen threw, pouring himself a large cup of coffee. Ramesh's nod indicated the same marital status.

Drakken didn't even try to hide it – he smirked wide in his gloating (even if Shego informed him beforehand about his ex-mates marital statuses). Even if his relationship was fake, he at least tried to make one (okay, Shego did, but who cares), those two didn't even try to bring a date. Who is laughing now, hah?

The downside of that was that he and Shego fell under even more scrutiny, because, first of all, the Possible knew too much and could easily find holes in their narrative and Chen and Ramesh never met Shego so they were extremely curious. Eventually, they were asked about how they'd gotten together. Drakken let Shego answer since the story was her brainchild. Well, theirs because they argued about it more than about any other part of the narrative. Drakken insisted on it being simple and believable, while Shego kept going into extremes. The only part they agreed on right from the start that it was Shego's initiative. Eventually, they ended up with:

"I seduced him. We've been working together for a couple of years and I felt the tension building up. I knew he wasn't going to do anything about it so one Friday after karaoke I've gotten him drunk and… you know…" The shocked expressions around the table showed that they most definitely knew. "Later we decided to try this whole dating thing and here we are almost four years later. Strangely, we fit each other well." Drakken didn't know if it was Shego's intention to add a sexual tint to the last sentence, but it seemed to give the right impression regardless.

"Kimberly never mentioned you being together." And here comes the all-seeing Ann Possible. She could call or text the bane of their existence right that minute to fact check and things will get even more complicated than they already are.

"It was dangerous to reveal personal attachments in our… previous line of work." Drakken felt his knee squeezed under the table – he somehow managed to answer right.

"And what does such beautiful lady do?"

Drakken threw a glare Chen's way, but another squeeze made him turn his attention back to his lunch.

"Security. Tossing out everybody, who shouldn't be on the premises." Vague, but essentially accurate description of Shego's duties.

The conversation staled for a bit there, because, clearly, they were both too exotic to discuss normal topics so they moved to work and current projects. When came Drakken's turn, he only said 'Classified' which didn't win him any favors in showing off his accomplishments. Which was the whole point of coming to reunion anyways.

"But surely you can share something." Ramesh's sincere curiosity won Drakken over. At least it looked sincere.

"It's a project… in agriculture."

"But don't you specialize in robotics?"

"I can do a lot of things."

"That's for sure," Shego added. Was there another undertone there too or was it wishful hearing?

The lunch ended with general 'See you's which did not imply anything, but at least they were not laughing at him. While further plans were discussed, Shego pulled him close to whisper into his ear, "Smile as if you completed one of your plans and nod, since right now I am telling you about a sexy and dirty plan of mine for us upstairs."

Drakken praised himself of not gulping his lunch out at the direct proposition, but that was the plan… So he did as Shego said, hopefully with no blush which was particularly noticeable on his blue cheeks.

…..

They ended up spending the dinner with the Possibles. 'Ended up' meaning Drakken and his 'girlfriend' were quite content to sit alone at the table with a small candle between them, enjoying the romantic atmosphere, well, at least Drakken was, he didn't know how much of Shego's expression was an act. And then the Possibles dropped onto them. Well, everything was awkward but neutral until Ann (since she insisted they call her thus) dropped the bomb by asking if there were wedding bells in their future in a perfect conversational tone. And yes, there was nothing provocative in the question, it was the natural course of things just as Drakken told his 'girlfriend' back then. The only problem – they didn't come with an appropriate answer on a later date as they planned.

The restaurant had dimmed lights in addition to the candles, but Drakken still saw how Shego went pale hearing the question she had no answer for. "Not at the moment. We are happy as we are," Drakken answered and smiled, feeling Shego squeezing his hand from across the table. To the onlookers it must've looked like a gesture of affection, but Drakken knew it was only gratitude. Still better than nothing.

And then the dining hall was plunged into darkness. As well as the rest of the city if the absence of window and street lights outside was any indication.

"Seriously?!" Drakken blew up. "Twenty years and they are still not on independent generator?! And who in the world is staying in the labs on a Saturday evening?" And then he noticed panic in Possible's gaze. "You know what's going on. It's your miscreants, right? Right?!"

"D, you are making a scene," came Shego's hiss, but Drakken was beyond diplomacy at that point. He had only three days with Shego and some brats were sabotaging that?! Why all Possibles were out to destroy his life? Why couldn't he just spend one weekend in peace?

"They said they wanted to make a surprise during the excursion tomorrow-"

"Well, looky here, their surprise overwhelmed city's electrical grid! And you know what will the papers write tomorrow? That it's my fault! Darn it all. Shego! Light the way." Drakken tossed his napkin on his half-eaten dinner, not caring that it landed right into the gravy. He stood up to leave, but there was no green light in front of him. "Shego! Get. Me. Light."

"What are you going to do?" And here was the snarky Shego he knew and… hmm, yeah…

"Get the electricity back."

"You actually want to get caught at the scene of the crime? Have you lost your mind, D?"

"We have two hundred witnesses," Drakken spoke intentionally loud, "that we were here when the blackout happened. Witnesses who continue to do nothing, despite their degrees and being the brightest minds of their generation. Just waiting for the handyman, hm?"

"What's wrong with you, Drew?"

"With me? Nothing. Although the general opinion – everything. Strange, that for a guy whose children suffered a major incident, you look surprisingly calm."

"Incident?" Mother finally sees the light.

"They didn't kill the power grid by pushing the wrong button, now did they?"

"We need-"

"Right away, darling."

"Hold your horses, Possible. Anytime soon will be fine, Shego."

Finally his 'girlfriend' heeded his order and the hall was illuminated by two green flames. Several gasps were heard from the diners. Well, they should be honored by seeing Shego's glow. He is so used to it that undervalues its uniqueness. He was truly lucky when they bumped into each other at that diamond exchange safe.

So they entered the M.I.S.T main building through the back door Possible had keys to, because of course he is teaching now too, and proceeded downstairs where electric service panel supposed to be. At some point they heard two young voices arguing. Looked like the perpetrators were fine. And the fury on Possible's face promised them quite a lecture and not of educational kind.

They turned a corner and came to a scene of total carnage which reminded Drakken of the view of his destroyed lairs after Kim Possible's visit. There were wires everywhere with sparkling electricity. Metal and wooden beams and other scorched details were covering the floor. There was also glass and something that stunk as if a chemical lab blew up in the room. Which could also be possible. Drakken chuckled at his pun.

In the midst of everything stood two boys, who clearly didn't care about dangerous materials and substances around them, but actually argued whose fault it was and each had enough arguments to last them till morning.

"Jim and Tim Possible! What in Heavens' name happened here?!"

"Mom?!.. Dad?!"

"You are coming here this instant and I am bringing you home where you will tell me exactly what happened and you are grounded for the remainder of summer! No objections!"

"As it was pointed out to me, I have no idea about bringing up children, but I am very well versed in crime and this is vandalism at least. There will be huge fines and juvy time, guys." Did Drakken gloat at pure fear in the boys' eyes at his statement? Maybe just a little bit. But mostly because of the disrespect towards science. If sending rockets into the sky in one's backyard was a game, blowing up whatever they blew up in a public university was most definitely not. "Let's go, Shego, this is family business."

"You are so evil," Shego whispered when they were far enough from the Possibles. The admiration in her voice astonished Drakken into looking at her green, well, greener smirking face. "Five, four, three, two-"

"Drew, wait!" A panting James Possible appeared behind them. "I need your help."

"You sure? Help of a drop out?"

"There are my children, Drew. I'll owe you. Big time. I don't care what it takes."

His rival was begging him for help, Drakken should be dancing a jig from happiness, but something felt wrong about it. To blackmail a father with the safety of his children – that was the line he was not going to cross. "You understand the danger of that proposition?"

"I am not an idiot, Drew. I know, the price will be high. But they are my boys."

"Okay, let's clean up this mess. First, disconnect this monstrosity from the power grid. Call the people at the station and tell that everything is okay and you are dealing with the local power supply. The town is happy and the uni will be temporary happy when we make them a temporary generator."

"Make it? Ourselves?"

"Yes, Possible, or you forgot your way around the tool box? Your boys are going to help. Find us some lights, Shego, and-"

"Cleaning duty?"

"Mmmm, yeah."

"This is supposed to be our vacation!"

"I'll make it up to you."

"You'd better, D." Has Shego just winked at him? And why does Possible suddenly look uncomfortable?

So after Shego delivered the boys to their mother via her acrobatic finery since the floor was full of active electric cables and they shut down the electricity, the female part of their 'team' started moving the remnants of the twins' 'surprise' into a corner and male part began construction of the power generator after Drakken asked Paul to sent him appropriate blueprints and after Shego 'procured' various tools and coffee, lots of coffee, from the campus grounds. They worked till dawn. Shockingly, Drakken found himself having fun. But not as much as the twins were. Drakken wasn't sure, but his guess was that they did not have much time inventing with their father. Which was bizarre, since the boys clearly inherited the brain genes of the family and then doubled it. Was this stunt a cry for taking them seriously?

"How can you function? It's five in the morning already."

"I am used to it, Possible. I work whenever inspiration strikes me and when I worked alone every minute was precious."

"And your… girlfriend is okay with that? Being second to your work?"

"She is used to it." Not to mention that he was always second to money and vacations and boy toys.

The generator was started up around eight in the morning. The 'scene of the crime' was clean enough for a basement. Obviously, there will be explanations for the university's board etc., but the cover up story was plausible.

"Drakken?"

"Doctor Drakken to you squirts! Especially after what you made me waste my time on!"

"Sorry… We just wanted to… thank you… for helping us out."

Drakken looked down at the embarrassed boys in front of him. There was something familiar about them, something that didn't allow him to be angry at them. "How old are you exactly?"

"Fourteen, but we are graduating high school next year."

"And? This place isn't keen on accepting you? That's why you wanted to prove yourself in front of alumni who could take you wherever they are teaching?"

"Pretty much."

"Well, you failed. Spectacularly and irresponsibly. Rules are there for a reason."

"But you don't follow any!"

"I do, most feverishly. Let this episode be a lesson to you two. Ask your father about scientist's accountability. He'll tell you all about it."

The Possibles lived in Middleton, so they obviously did not stay at the hotel, thus Drakken was confused when Possible followed him there. Shego kept herself upright by sheer force of will (and that was nothing new), but still managed to have enough mind clarity to peck his lips before her departure to their room.

"I want to talk to you, Drew. You are heading to the roof?"

"How?.."

"I saw the green skin while we were at the pool. It wasn't difficult to make logical conclusions."

So they went to the roof and Drakken sat down at the spot where his back had maximum exposure to the Sun. It was not the ideal set up, but he couldn't miss even a single day. "So what's it about? Backing out of our deal already?" Drakken asked, placing his light-colored jacket to a nearby box so it remained clean. T-shirt soon followed. He tried to position himself in a way that would not expose his back to Possible, but the loud intake of breath indicated his failure.

"I am not backing out."

Drakken had to give Possible the props, since he didn't ask anything about the vines. "Fine then, especially since I already know what to ask of you."

"I will back your fabric-"

"Forget about the fabric! You, Possible, don't let those boys turn into me. Find them a school that will welcome them and not ostracize them for their age. They are more than curious boys. You do know that you have geniuses under your roof, right? Teach them how to be safe and that explosions are not fun, but life threatening, especially if one remains alive after it. You understand, what I am getting at, Possible?"

"Of course, I know-"

"Do you really?"

"Yes, Drew, I get it."

"What I don't get, Possible, is how you allow your daughter to prance around the world risking her life at every turn."

"It's her calling. Everything is possible-"

"Even cheating death? I doubt, you know that there were quite a number of close calls. Shego and Kimmie have a special relationship… Shego's dream is to defeat her, but she will never take her life. I, on the other hand, made a couple of semi-successful attempts. But you know me, I can't do anything right. What I am getting to, Possible, Shego and I have… special constitutions, but were we ordinary humans, we would've died four-five times over, at least. Do you want blood on your daughter's hands?

"I am out of the game, I don't care what she is going to do after graduation, but just a word of caution – petty thieves are not supervillians. At some point the stakes will get too high for her to handle, everybody knows what her attachments - her weak points - are."

"What are you saying exactly, Drew?"

"She has attachments. Shouldn't they be more precious than the thrill of the chase? What happened to that boy? What's his name… The boyfriend?"

"Ron? He is in Europe with her. They study at the same school. What's is this really about, Drew? You seem… down."

"Funny, how you are the only one, who calls me by that name."

"Why? What about your mother?"

"She's passed recently."

"I am sorry. And Shego?"

"She… doesn't like that name." Because it was the name of a loser. Of a pathetic drop-out, who is not evil at all. "She will never call me by that name." Only the evil boss, never just a man.
