Day 4 everyone! I hope you enjoy this chapter!

Day 4

10:45 A.M.

After just narrowly escaping Mathias, but we lost Salem while doing so. Otis and I are still trying to move on, but it's hard? I never thought losing someone would be as hard but I was wrong.

Otis arrived back with some supplies for our camp, food, and drinks that could help us keep hydrated.

"Good job Otis! Do you want to have breakfast now?" I turned towards him.

"Not right now. I'm going to go back amd grab us some bottom candy for dessert." He says as he places his knife in his pocket and puts it in his backpack.

"Alright, I'll keep watch. Cotton candy sounds good."* I smiled.

Otis leaves as I sat down on my gummy besr carved chair and wait for Otis to return.

A twenty minutes go by and he still hasn't returned. The door swung open, and there stood Mathias.

I immediately ducked behind a giant lollipop and looked desperately for a way to get him to go away. How did he find us so soon?

That's when it hit me, the chocolate river. Maybe if I pushed him in there it'll give me time to gather the supplies and run away.

"Come out wherever you are!" Mathias smirks.

I stayed silent behind the giant lollipop, grabbing my dagger and began frantically cutting it out of the ground.

Mathias lurked closer to me.

"There you are!" He hissed and charged at me with his trident.

I yanked the lollipop out of the arena floor and stood up using all my power and swung at Mathias.

"W-woah!" He yelled out as he stumbled into the chocolate river.

That's when something horrible happened.

Mathias began to scream in pain and agony as the chocolate river became sizzling and melting his skin. He thrashed around, which only made it worse.

"You little bitch!" He screamed as the chocolate river slowly and painfully consumed him. All I could do was look away.

He sank to the bottom as air bubbles formed on top, and then nothing remained of the boy.

Boom.

I stand their is shock and silence of what I had just done, as a teardrop falls down my cheek.

Jupiter Maxson, District 5 Male

Day 4

11:02 A.M.

I jumped at the sound of another cannon firing, but then I relaxed because I knew myself and everyone near me was safe.

We have lost Danielle and it's all my fault. If didn't suggest we split up for supplies she would still be alive. I wish I could change time, but there's no way that's possible. All I can do is remember Danielle and her sweet and friendly manner.

"Jupiter, you ok?" Lavinia placed her sword down.

"Oh yeah. I'm just….upset about Danielle's death." I frowned.

"Jupiter, I am too, but we can't just let that get in are way. We need to keep going." Lavinia smiled at me.

"I guess you're right." I sighed and got up.

"Good. Let's get moving, we need to find more supplies; and this time let's stay together." Lavinia laughs

"Yeah I agree." I grin.

"Attention visitors: the chocolate factory has closed. We would like to thank you for coming. Please use any of the exits, where you'll be given a complimentary chocolate bar for your visit. Thank you. We hope to see you again" The voice of an robotic woman echoed through the arena.

The anthem began to play as the names of today's fallen tributes were announced.

"Mathias Knight, District Four Male."

After everyone was announced the anthem ended and the arena went silent.
