Reflected Back At You

Chapter 7

Found my heart and broke it here

Made friends and lost them through the years.

And I miss the way you make me feel, and it's real.

The boys looked to each other then over at their mother.

Brooke nodded her head. And gave them a knowing look.

"Bailes. Barnes come here. We have a special visitor who came by just see the two you." Brooke stated.

Bailey and Barney stepped off the remaining steps and stood in front of the man who would introduce himself to them as their father.

They noticed right away how they looked alike. And with further conversation. That they both had things in common.

The boys found themselves trusting Lucas and his words.

Especially his promises. Of sticking around and not going anywhere. Wanting to make up for lost time. Making it clear he would go by their pace.

That being their dad. Would be the role in his that he would take the most seriously.

Lucas wasn't expecting to be engulfed into a hug. By his sons.

Brooke couldn't help but feel touched by this moment between Lucas and their boys.

He seemed honest and well meaning. If they could believe and trust him. Why couldn't she.? At least until he gave her a reason not too.

...

For two people who shared years together. Now a bigger home. And a daughter. Who was adopted by Mouth. The relationship between Mouth and Rachel's relationship as a couple had evolved as well.

Regardless of what the outside world thought. They brought out the better versions of each other.

Bailey and Barney both went off with their friends.

"The infamous Marvin McFadden." Brooke said.

"I report on sports. That's nothing compared what you do. Rach has talked about you alot." He replied.

"You're the guy. Who makes her happy and gave her this beautiful life. I have you to thank for that." Brooke stated matter of fact.

"What is he doing here!" Nathan exclaimed. Glaring at Lucas.

"He's with me. I thought Peyton would of caught you up by now." Brooke replied.

"I didn't take her seriously. And i can't believe you would be this stupid!" Nathan shouted.

"You're being an ass. Find some sense and self respect."

"Or throw you out myself. You don't get to talk to her like that!" Lucas replied.

...

"I made this for you." Bailey announced. Smiling shyly.

Qwen Taylor. She had her mother's blond/brown hair. Was short in height. And had her father's brown eyes. And brown skin. Gazed down at the hand drawn picture he had created and framed just for her.

"I love it. Thanks." She replied. Leaning over kissing his cheek.

"I brought my guitar and my book of songs." Qwen announced.

"I can watch you play." Bailey suggested.

...

Barney passed the basketball to Mouth and Rachel's only child. Their daughter Miranda. Who had her mother's looks but the eyes belonged to her biological father. Who she had never met.

"So you play basketball and do cheerleading." Barney announced in amazement.

Miranda simply nodded her head before shooting the basketball into the hoop.
