"Some people believe that raven's guide travelers to their destinations. Others believe that the sight of a solitary raven is considered good luck. While a group of ravens predicts trouble ahead. And a raven right before battle promises victory."
Brooke glared at Nathan. The two were friends. Had grown up in the same social circles. She knew he wouldn't be happy or excited to find out about her involvement with Lucas from the past but she wasn't prepared for this kind of reaction.
She felt various eyes on her. He was making a scene.
"Let's talk outside. Nate please." Brooke pleaded.
"I have nothing to say to you." Nathan replied.
"Well i do." Brooke proclaimed. Leading the way out the front door.
Lucas wanted to get in the middle of this and knock out Nathan. For the humilation and pain he was causing Brooke. But instead he used every ounce of self control he had to leave the entryway and go check on his sons.
"What the fuck is wrong with you! Lucas is the father of my boys! For god sake Nathan they are you're nephews or does that mean nothing because of the tie to Lucas!" Brooke exclaimed.
"Out of every guy you could of hooked up with you picked Lucas! You can't possibly be this naive and foolish to think he won't use those kids as a tool to get closer to you.!" Nathan shouted.
"He doesn't need to play tricks or use our children. He's not what you think. I care about him enough to give him a chance. To be in the life me and the boys have built. That should be enough for you." You're one of my closest friends. Let's not allow this to ruin that." Brooke stated matter of fact.

The rest of the party was filled to the rim with uncomfortable silence and stares that said alot. Brooke was relieved to eventually leave the party.
Bailey and Barney on the other hand wanted to stay. But Rachel and Mouth assured them they were welcome for a play date anytime.
Skills and Haley stated the same regarding their daughter. Both couples happy to see the boys and their girls becoming friends.
"It's late boys. Way past you're bedtime. Brush you're teeth and get ready for bed." Brooke instructed as she looked to the back seat of Lucas's car.
"We want to say goodbye to dad first." Bailey announced.
The expression on Lucas's face softened hearing himself being called dad.
Lucas pulled them into a hug. "Thanks for the invite my boys. Hopefully the three of us can spend quality time together again soon."
"We want that too." Barney replied.
"It's good that we live in the same neighborhood. We can see each other all the time." Bailey added in.
"I'll figure out when the two of you have free time in you're schedule then i'll set up an outing or you can come over to my house and hang out there." Lucas explained.
"We can't wait." Barney said.
"Goodbye dad." Bailey said.
Lucas watched as they went into their mother's home.
He got back into the car. Surprised to see Brooke still in the passenger seat.
"I just wanted to apologize to you. You came to this party as a guest. A favor to me and Nathan made things all about him. You didn't deserve that." Brooke proclaimed.
Lucas reached over taking her hand in his.
"I was there for you and our sons. He doesn't exist to me."
"I meant what i said about you not being alone in parenting anymore. We should set up a schedule so we can both have time with Bailey and Barney. During the week and the weekend." Lucas replied.
"I would like that and i know they would too. I appreciate you stepping up like this and for standing up for me tonight." Brooke said.
"When i care and love someone. I give me 100 percent of myself."
"Goodnight Brooke." Lucas said.
"Goodnight Lucas." She replied. Only then realizing there hands had been clasped together during this entire conversation.
