Reflected Back At You

Chapter 16

The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides.

I swam until my arms and legs ached. I can count on my fingers and toes how many summer days i spent outdoors. Taking in the sun. Swimming. Hiking. I thrive off of thrill.

I can't escape the want and need i have to possibly get caught.

I wasn't planning to be out in the pool for so long.

I just craved being alone and dark night sky.

When i finally came up for air. And wrapped a towel around myself.

I was surprised to see Lucas. I wondered how long he was there. Watching me.

Yet i didn't ask. I didn't mind not at all.

"I didn't mean to interupt. I just wanted to let you know i was back. Are you cold.?"

"I could lit the fireplace. Make some dinner for us.?" Lucas suggested.

"Sounds great. White or red wine.? I'll get dessert."

"Once i get dressed." Brooke replied.

"Take you're time." Lucas said. Turning from her as he made his way back towards the home.

...

By the time Brooke got dressed and returned home from a nearby bakery.

Brooke was welcomed into the kitchen with candle light.

Brooke smiled and called out to him.

Lucas walked over to where she was.

"I figure let's enjoy ourselves. We rarely get to be alone in here. Together. As adults."

"I didn't mean that. The way it sounded." Lucas announced.

Brooke leaned over kissing him gently.

"It's okay. Whatever happens tonight. Is what i want."

"And i know it's what you want. Just let go." Brooke replied.
