Reflected Back At You
Chapter 18
Author's Note : Stay tuned my readers. Just had a large mug of coffee. Who knows what will happen.?
By the time Bailey and Barney got back home. Brooke was in the basement. Working on sketches with Peyton's pregnancy coming to a close sooner rather then later. Brooke was inspired to start a baby clothing line.
For now it was just sketches. The name she was thinking of for the line was Mini B.
She was determind to give the boys a level of privacy. They were growing up and if they wanted and felt more comfortable opening up to their father she would respect that and not push for information they didn't want to give willingly.
"So tell me all about it. How was the dance.?" Lucas asked. Looking to his boys.
As the three of them entered the kitchen to a set up of milk and cookies. They had their father's sweet tooth and he knew getting them to open up would be easier with a snack like this.
"It was fun. We're glad we went." Barney replied.
"Did you and the girls have a nice time.? Anything you want to talk about.?" Lucas questioned.
"Me and Qwen are boyfriend and girlfriend!" Bailey announced excitedly.
Lucas smiled warmly. "I'm happy for you. You're mom and expect you to treat her like a gentleman. Loving. Respectful. Understanding." He replied.
"I know." Bailey stated matter of fact.
"How about you Barney. How did you're night go.?" Lucas asked.
Barney smiled shyly. "We kissed." He announced.
But truthfully Barney didn't know what that meant to her. He only knew what it meant to him. And it was everything.
"The two of you enjoy you're snack. I'm going to bed."
"I love you." Lucas stated matter of fact. Engulfing his sons in a hug.
"We love you too." They replied. Hugging him back. Before he left the kitchen.
...
It wasn't until Barney and Bailey were dropped off at school. And Brook returned home to have breakfast with Lucas. Before they both left for work.
Did Lucas fill Brooke in on what he had learned from their boys last night.
"Dating. Kissing. They are way too young for any of that." Brooke proclaimed.
Knowing very well that her and Lucas both started dating around that age. But this was different. These were her babies.
Or maybe she just wasn't ready for them to grow up.
"Change the subject. I don't want to cry." Brooke insisted.
"The boys have that long weekend coming up. It actually works out with my work. I have a quick trip to LA to make. Fan stuff."
"They have their plans booked. I was wondering if you wanteed to join me. I know how much you have missed traveling and it would give us a chance to spend quality time together. What do you think.?" Lucas questioned.
"I would love too. I just have to figure out my wardrobe." Brooke replied.
