Reflected Back At You
Chapter 29
"Life Isn't Always Romantic. Sometimes, It's Realistic. Sometimes, Things Don't Work Out The Way You Want Them To."
Brooke's head was spinning. Her heart pounding. None of this made sense. But as she went back into her memory certain details resurface that now seemed odd.
She didn't handle any aspect of the funeral. Her parents had people assigned to take over every task. All she did was show up.
Her parents didn't have friends. So there wasn't much of a guest list or reception. The only people who were there besides Brooke. Were her friends.
Lastly the coffins remained closed without Brooke being able to actually see her parents bodies for a final time. Say goodbye. But Brooke didn't think much about that either.
She had endured their supposed murders why make her see them anymore then she needed too.?
The question that was haunting her now.
If this was true. Why. How. Could they explain themselves.?
Brooke hadn't realized Lucas had left the shower.
Until she felt the warmth of his body wrapped around her.
"Talk to me. Something is wrong." Lucas pleaded. The minute he left the shower. And re entered the bedroom.
He instantly saw his wife transformed into a verison of her he hadn't seen before.
She was visibly upset. The color drained from her face. Shaking.
Brooke clung to him. "Luke. I don't know what to do." She admitted. The emotion in her voice thick.
Once Brooke was able to compose herself. She showed Lucas the messages she had been sent.
Lucas read them and looked to Brooke.
"I don't like this. It feels like a trap. Someone using you're history with you're parents. And trying to bring you into a situation that you shouldn't be in." Lucas replied.
"But Lucas for all i know this person has information i could use to locate my parents. Get the answers i deserve to have."
"I can't just ignore this! I deserve closure.!" Brooke exclaimed.
"I know. If i had the opportunity to have my mom or Keith back in my life i would take it. Yet we need to be smart and cautious."
"If you want to reach out do it. But i'm by you're through this."
"Wherever it leads." Lucas reassured her.
Brooke breathed a sigh of relief. Knowing without a doubt she had her husband's understanding and support.
She slowly dialed the number and clutched her cellphone tightly as the call rung in her ear once. Twice. A third time.
When she almost hung up. A voice picked up.
Brooke swallowed hard. Feeling tears fill her eyes.
"What do you want! Why are you doing this!" Brooke exclaimed. The emotion in her voice thick.
A choice had to be made. The voice said. Before the call drop.
Brooke soon got a new message. This time a text. With an address.
The cellphone fell from her hands. Seeing right away the address was from Tree Hill.
