Ch1: "Prologue"

Authors Note: This is inspired off of Our Hollow Brother (Alter) by Glaux Bryonia, and Bleach: The Hollow Within by Zangetsu50.

Falling, the wind blew upwards rapidly causing Rukia Kuchiki to shiver almost instantly. She suddenly felt something cold, and wet smacking into her face, she flinched. She moved her face away only to get hit again and again. Growling she opened her eyes for a second then widened them rapidly. She frantically looked left and right and realized she was falling out of the sky.

{"The hell….we're in Hueco Mundo and now am falling out of the sky…..is that….Karakura Town?!"} Rukia thought as she recognized the city she frequented so often. An ominous feeling felt in her heart, as she realized something. {"Where the hell is Ichigo….I know he was fighting the 4th Espada…"}. She felt it was stupid but then she called out anyway "I…I…Ichigo!" The sky boomed, almost answering her question.

{"I knew that was stupid….ack!"} She felt herself being caught and carried away. The sky boomed and lashed out angrily as rain, thunder and lightning streaked all across Karakura Town. She blinked confusedly as she looked around and then spotted familiar orange hair fluttering in the wind. She slowly turned her head and she gasped as lightning flashed.

There holding her was her friend Ichigo Kurosaki now completely hollowfied. Rukia's lips trembled and looked desperately for her weapon but to no avail. Ichigo then came to a screeching halt. Rukia cried out in surprise and shock at the suddenness of the action. Ichigo then stood in the sky as he looked left and right for something. He sniffed the air and seemed annoyed.

Rukia blinked at the strange action, and felt two strong bursts of familiar Reiatsu. {"Is that….no it can't be."} She pushed at Ichigo trying to get free but he growled at her in response and sniffed her and checked her like a mother cat checking her kittens for any wounds. Rukia blushed and squeaked at the action, and turned her head at first but Ichigo wasn't having none of it.

Rukia sighed in defeat and allowed Ichigo to check her over. Blushing, she gently patted his head to the best of her ability. She then tried to concentrate on the two bursts of reiatsu that she felt earlier. She inwardly cheered when she found them when a sudden harsh realization hit her. {It's the local….graveyard…..no way….it's Grand Fisher and…"} She was cut off by Ichigo growling in anger and his body jerked.

Rukia gulped and backed up holding her hands up as she did so. {"He must have felt it too…."} she instantly placed her hands on his chest in an attempt to calm him down. She felt heavy beads of sweat pouring down her face as Ichigo's Reiatsu increased and grew hot with anger. "Shhh shhh it's okay it's okay, your father is there….let's calm down and go…..WHOA!" Rukia instantly fell on her but.

Rukia rubbed it and got up and her eyes widened as Ichigo clutched the handle of his Bankai: "Tensa Zangetsu" Rukia suddenly had another realization {"This has to be the past…it wasn't raining like this when we encountered Grand Fisher plus Isshin hadn't regained his powers yet….I have to calm Ichigo down before the Soul Society picks him up."}.

Filled with determination, Rukia quickly runs forward and hugs her friend and kisses his cheek. "Shhh Ichigo let's calm down and go see okay?" She silently prayed hoping that this works and to her shock and joy it does. Ichigo calms down and lowers his sword and growls in a low but calm manner indicating agreement.

Rukia squeals and does an air fist pump. Ichigo tilts his head in confusion and simply kneels down like a knight to his queen. Rukia blushes and flusters as she climbs up onto his shoulder and holds on. It takes a while for her to get used to the motion as Ichigo slowly stood up and growled when she pulled his mane too tightly. Rukia blushed again and nuzzled her face into his mane. {"Heh it smells like oranges….."} her thought was cut off by a raindrop hitting her on her face as the rain started up again.

Ichigo shifted his body indicating he was ready and Rukia patted his head telling him that she was ready. {"I always wondered how Yachiru feels riding on Kenpachi-sama shoulder."} Thunder boomed and lightning flashed as Ichigo used sonído to reach the graveyard. Rukia watched by in awe and slight terror as the world moved faster and faster and the rain mixed with lighting and thunder made her dizzy.

Karakura Town: Graveyard

Lightning flashed across the sky as thunder boomed. As the sounds of a sword hitting an object and blood splattered all over the nearby grave stones. Isshin Kurosaki was driven back into a gravestone, the pain filling his head as blood trickled down his shoulder and forehead. He tried to stand up but couldn't, he felt death slowly but surely overtaking him. {"I have to…defend Yuzu and Karin….."} he thought as he heard a deep chuckle that made him scowl deeply.

He glared up at the owner, the elusive and fearsome Grand Fisher. He looked at the corner as his two children Yuzu and Karin were huddled up watching the scene with terror and fright and pale skin. The Grandfisher also looked at them and licked his lips "Awe too bad Daddy couldn't save you two I will have you as an…..appetizer….while I finish the main course!" He laughed with glee as Yuzu started wailing as thunder boomed louder and louder.

Isshin, using the anger flowing through him, stood up using his sword as a crutch. "Well…this main course says….Fuck you!" Isshin laughed to himself at the last part as he coughed up blood and bile. The grand fisher didn't like that comment and turned his attention back to Isshin and was about to retort when a brightly colored Red and Black Cero slammed into him sending him flying across the Graveyard and across the river bank into a row of office buildings.

Then after a few moments the buildings were engulfed in a massive explosion with a miniature Mushroom cloud for effect. Isshin watched on with shock and horror written over his face. As there before him as the lighting illuminated its frame stood an imposing figure. It had long straight hair, reaching down to his waist, and a smaller Hollow hole decorated with markings stretching from the hole across his chest and shoulders. He has retractable claws on his fingertips and toes, small, furry red tufts, two starting from his collarbone and stretching around his neck and one each on his wrists and ankles, and white skin.

Its head has four spike-shaped marks, two of them stopping by the forehead and the other two stretching past the eyes and teeth, going past his chin and joining with the marks on his chest. There are small marks resembling a heart, but with the top and bottom open, extending from the inner corners of his eyes. The mask features two long forward-pointing horns, with black strips extending from their center towards the tips.

Isshin sat there paralyzed and unable to move. He looked at his two daughters and back at the figure he noted the orange hair that flowed in the wind that reminded him of a lion's mane. He blinked {"Eh…Ichigo had the same hair color…and it looks remarkably like that Hollow….,no way….it has to be a consequence."}. He shook his head and grabbed his sword and quietly attempted to sneak up on the Hollow from its backside.

{"Maybe I can take out two birds with one stone…."} His thoughts were interrupted by "Bakudō # 1. Sai!" Said a voice he looked to his right and was shocked to see a Raven haired petite shinigami female pointing their index and middle fingers at him. Suddenly his hands were locked behind his back as his sword dropped to the ground. At this moment the Hollow quickly turned and raised its blade. Isshin closed his eyes awaiting death while at the same time confused.

He was then further confused when the shinigami shouted "No Ichigo don't!" And he opened his eyes which bulged out of their sockets upon seeing the Raven haired shinigami wrapping herself around the Vasto Lordes waist preventing it from killing him. Isshin was dumbfounded and finally found his voice. "W…what the hell is wrong with you?! Why the hell are you….ack!" Isshin was hit by heavy coughs.

The girl turned to him and rushed over to him and checked his wounds. She silently cursed knowing his time was coming. She then slammed two hands into his major wound on his back and began healing him. She then looked at Ichigo as sweat dripped down her face "Go! Deal with Grand Fisher!" Rukia barked as the hollow jumped and quickly vanished in a blur of sonído.

Isshin was baffled and tried to move but Rukia held him down the best she could. "Don't move, I'm not that well versed in healing Kidō." Isshin coughed some more and said with heavy breathing "You called that Vasto Lordes Ichigo…." "Yes I did." Rukia replied confused at first then cursed herself for forgetting this must be the past or an alternate reality created by Aizen.

"Ichigo…died when he was a baby….cough, cough so that thing can't be Smack!" Isshin was cut off by Rukia smacking him across his mouth. Isshin quickly regained his momentum and while nursing his bruised cheek looked back to see Rukia crying slightly. "D…d..don't call him that!" She said in between tears, "He is my friend….the only one I have….and yes his name is Ichigo because it means…number #1 protector" Isshin eyes widened at this and felt a pang of guilt in his heart.

He was about to reply to say something to ease her crying. When a massive earthquake rocked the area he turned and saw six massive mushroom clouds consecutively in a row. He whistled and then coughed again {"That guy is powerful he may not be able to kill Grand Fisher but he might be able to drive him completely away from this area."}.

He then turned to Rukia who was looking past him at the destruction caused by the fight between Gran Fisher and Ichigo. Isshin grabbed her hand softly and took it into his. Rukia turned her gaze towards him and realized he was dying "No No No No…" she cried and was about to resume healing but Isshin stopped her. He motioned for her to near his ear which she hesitantly did so. "Please take care of my daughters for me….let them have a normal childhood…" he coughed up blood.

Rukia's eyes felt heavy with tears as Isshin wiped them away. "Y…y…your name?" He asked. Rukia smiled and wiped her tears before responding.

"Lieutenant Rukia Kuchiki, of the Gotei 13 Thirteenth Division under Jūshirō Ukitake"

Ichigo roared and hissed as he was on all fours with his sword held tightly in his right hand. He stared down an armless Grand Fisher who was spitting curses at him. Ichigo turned his head left; he knew the Soul Society picked the fight up so he had to finish quickly. He broke his right horn and placed his sword next to it as Grand Fisher quit his ranting to stare in horror at what Ichigo was gonna do.

Soul Society: "Sir we picked up three signatures two Hollow one a Captain level Shinigami." "What?! Where?!" "Karakura Town…..what the….. all three disappeared?!" "Alert the Head Captain!" "Y…y..Yes sir!"

Rukia held Yuzu's head on her lap and rubbed her hair. Karin was leaning on her shoulder fast asleep {"Both are out, the experience must be traumatizing"} Rukia thought as Yuzu stirred and held Rukia's hand causing the petite Shinigami to squeak softly. "M..m..mama…" Yuzu whimpered silently and held in her sobs. Rukia's heart ached as she squeezed the girl's hand in a reassuring manner. "Mama is here…." Rukia said softly as she looked up at the cloudy sky.

She then noticed something out of the corner of her eye and spotted two spirits standing there. She recognized them immediately as Isshin and Masaki Kurosaki who looked on at her lovingly. The ghost fades out of existence as Masaki sheds a tear. Rukia waves and looks up and sees Ichigo standing over her. She smiles at her friend and reaches out in a careful manner to not disturbed the blonde haired girl sleeping in her lap. Ichigo kneels and moves his head closer as Rukia pats him on the head.

"Good boy….good boy…" Rukia says softly as she rubs his mane and stands up holding Yuzu as Ichigo scoops up the still sleeping Karin. Rukia holds Yuzu tightly in her arms and looks at her friend. "We need to find Uharaha-San…" Ichigo growls softly indicating he wasn't happy with the decision. "Ichigo…." Rukia began slowly and calmly, "We have to…I made a promise." She looked back where Isshin and Masaki's ghost stood.

"Please take care of my daughters for me….let them have a normal childhood…"

Time skip: Karakura Town, Kuchiki household 7:30 pm

The back door opened as a preteen girl with soft dark brown eyes and short light blonde hair. With short bangs hanging over the right side of her forehead shoulder length and wearing a red hair clip on the left side of her head. She wore a green hoodie as she shivered as the autumn wind blew, she looked left and right. "El Diablo-San, where are you? It's bedtime." She called softly as a ripple appeared right in front of the Sakura tree in the backyard. Ichigo appeared and walked slowly toward her. Normally a human would be afraid of a monster like this.

But this monster was her adoptive father Ichigo Kuroskai commonly known as El Diablo. Yuzu giggled and hugged him tightly and nuzzled into his chest tightly, as Ichigo returned the hug gently. The sliding door opened behind them as Rukia appeared and gave a soft chuckle, she now had long hair that she wore in a sideways ponytail and a blue and white long dress

and slippers. She held a dish in her right hand and a cloth in her left, "Come on inside Yuzu..it's bedtime you guys have school tomorrow." Yuzu whirled around and pouted and gave her adoptive mother puppy eyes.

"Please Kaa-san?" Rukia's lip trembled, and looked away knowing Ichigo was no help. She sighed and looked up at the ceiling and looked back at Yuzu "Okay El Diablo can put you to bed and sleep with you Karin is already in bed." Yuzu cheered and jumped on Ichigo's back as he walked inside and walked through the brought her to her shared bedroom with her fraternal twin sister Karin. Karin looked up and rolled her eyes as she got ready for bed as Ichigo tucked in Yuzu and nuzzled her and licked her forehead. Rukia stood in the doorway and smiled as she looked to her left and spotted an afterimage of Isshin.

Ichigo nuzzled Karin much to the black-haired tomboy's annoyance, Rukia chuckled and walked back out into the hallway turning off the light as she did. Ichigo sat down in between Yuzu and Karin's bed. Rukia went to her room and changed into her favorite rabbit themed pajamas. She sat in her bed and thoughts entered her mind, and she looked at her hands. {"So this is what it's like to be human…I can barely sense any reiatsu…I can sense Shinigami and Hollows thanks to Urahara-san…speaking of which."} Rukia looked up as she sensed the reiatsu of a shinigami.

Ichigo also perked up too and kept a yellow eye open. As Rukia got up and went to the window. {"That feels like….Hitsugaya-sama?"}.She looked around and narrowed her eyes, {"This is bad…it could be because Ichigo scared off all the other hollows in the area."} Rukia then shook her head and went to bed.

On a random electric post across town

Tōshirō Hitsugaya stood on top of a post breathing in and out the cool air. {"So…this is Karakura Town…I dunno why the Head Captain is so worried…this town has little hollow activity apart from what happened all those years ago."}. He looked left and narrowed his eyes {"I swore I felt….nah…it was nothing."}. He then heard the random cry to his immediate right and narrowed his eyes as he Shunpo to the direction the cry came from.
