Reflected Back At You

Chapter 38

Hours Later

Lucas was tossing and turning unable to get comfortable or keep his mind from racing with thoughts.

Besides the possibility of having a orgasmic birth weighed heavily on him. He was having trouble wrapping his mind around sharing such a personal moment with strangers. Even though they would be trained medical professionals.

Brooke wanted to give birth at a birthing center. No pain medication. A calm comforting environment. He understood all of that. And wanted to give her everything she wanted. Being able to share in the labor and delivery. A redo since the last time. He wasn't apart of the process.

Mattered more to him then anything. Before he agreed to participate. He needed to look into the option for himself.

Then there was lack of communication with their sons.

Sure they had kept in contact throughout the event but that was over now.

They were on the way home and hadn't answered any of their father's texts or calls.

It was concerning and bringing up a level of fear and nervousness.

That he was attempting to keep at bay. Because Brooke was on edge enough for them both.

"Call me now!" Brooke exclaimed. Taking a deep breath as she spoke again.

"It's 10 pm. It's late. I'm getting worried. Let me know you're on the way home. I love you." Brooke proclaimed. Leaving the same voicemail for both her sons.

Lucas got out of bed and wrapped his arms around her in a hug.

Brooke clung to him. "I should of driven them back home. I wanted them to have some freedom. Be able to have a night with their friends without me hovering."

"I don't like this Lucas. Something is going on. I can feel it."

"They know how protective we are. How much i worry."

"Bring them home. I'll be waiting in the living room."

"They'll come home and we'll forget this ever happened. I'm probably just being over emotional and hormonal." Brooke stated matter of fact.

"I'll bring them home. Don't worry." Lucas reassured her.

...

Bailey awoke. Feeling movement and hearing hushed voices.

"What is going on.? Who's doing this.?" Barney asked.

He looked around in the darkness. Searching for their cellphones and finding nothing but the floor.

...

Lucas knew the route his sons were supposed to be on. He went from Tric onward driving slowly. Looking for them. He stopped at the river's edge.

He got out of the car and saw their cellphones smashed into pieces on the ground.

Before he allowed panic to set in. He drove by Ted and victoria's house. Seeing that there were no cars in the driveway and a for sale sign on the house.

Lucas recalled their warning if it kept digging. Someone would pay for it. Along with Brooke confronting them which she told him all about during their dinner.

Ted and Victoria wanted revenge. On me and for Brooke wanting nothing to do with them.

Lucas calmy called 911 before driving home.

...

Brooke paced in the entryway. Her hand on her belly.

She wondered if baby gir scott could feel her stress and fear.

She was so relieved to see Lucas walk through the door.

Brooke practically raced over there.

"Where are the boys.?" Brooke questioned.

Lucas swallowed hard. "I need you to sit down and try to remain calm. I already called 911. Gave them a description of what barney and bailey were wearing and what they look like." He explained.

Brooke felt her heart sink. "What the hell are you talking about!" "Police. 911. Where are they!" She exclaimed.

"Ted and Victoria took them." Lucas announced.
