Reflected Back At You
Chapter 39
It stirs up envy, fame does. People feel fame gives them some kind of privilege to walk up to you and say anything to you - and it won't hurt your feelings - like it's happening to your clothing.
Days turned to weeks. With Ted and Victoria's resources and money they could of been anywhere in the world.
For Brooke and Lucas this was a hell they never expected to experience. The minute the news broke around town it began all anyone would talk about.
The couple retreated into their home and haven't left.
Lucas did what he could to make sure Brooke was taking care of herself. For her own health and especially the baby.
But Brooke was taking this situation. Hard. She had alot of guilt that was beginning to take control over how she went on about her days.
Lucas couldn't keep his off the neews desperate for any updates in this case.
The police advised the couple to let them handle it. Made it clear. Getting involved on a personal basis got add more danger and they didn't want anymore lives at risk.
..
If it wasn't for the baby growing inside her. Moving and kicking. Brooke knew she wouldn't be able to get out of bed. Eat or sleep.
Lucas wouldn't let her take out her feelings of anger and guilt on herself. But that didn't she wasn't consumed with those emotions.
The friendgroup stepped up. Coming by to keep the pair company. Drop off food. And they avoided the Paparazzi .
Even though they were basically camped out in front of home.
Brooke called everyday needing any updates she could find.
The phone nearly falling from her hands when she was told the newest information.
"Lucas! They found them!" Brooke called out.
Lucas emerged with his cellphone clutched in his hands.
"I just got the location. They were brought into the hospital by some security. Ted and Victoria had assigned." Lucas added in.
"Let's go!" Brooke replied. Getting up from where she was seated.
A hand on her now 28 week. 7 month. Pregnant belly.
The both knew why their boys had been taken to the hospital.
...
Brooke busted through the doors. Lucas ran to the reception desk. After hours of driving. And trying to calm his frantic stressed out wife.
"Bailey and Barney Scott. We need to see them now!" Brooke exclaimed. Clutching the desk with her hands. Staring wild eyed at the receptionist.
"Down the hall. First exam room on you're left." She replied. Swallowing hard.
She then handed Lucas papers that needed to be filled out. Instead they ended up in a scattered pile on the floor.
"Momma! dad!" Barney exclaimed. Racing over to them.
"My baby!" Brooke exclaimed.
The couple clinging tightly to their son.
Brooke quickly examined him.
Wanting to ask so many questions. But she couldn't focus on that now.
The couple then lazer focused on Bailey who was in the fragile state they expected.
He had gone without his hcm medication for days.
When he slowly opened his eyes. "How are you and my sister momma." Bailey asked. His voice soft.
Tears fell from both Lucas and Brooke's eyes.
"We're okay. You rest and get better." Brooke replied.
"Once we're allowed. We're taking the both of you home." Lucas said.
