A/N: This has been sitting on my computer for months and I literally just now realised I had it so even though it's off season here's this story.
Eli looked under the tree one last time. "That's all the presents!"
"Does everyone have their presents for the name they drew?" Olivia smiled, she had concocted this Secret Santa.
Everyone nodded.
"Alright, we'll go in a circle, starting with Eli."
Eli handed his gift to Olivia with a large smile on his face. "Here you go, Mommy! Daddy helped me pick it!"
"Did he now?" She couldn't stop smiling, the anticipation for her gift was rising. Neatly, she unfolded the ribbon that was on the top and opened the box to find a necklace with all of their names on silver charms as well as their birthstones; Maureen with sapphire and Eli with topaz.
Blindly, she put on the necklace, a few tears of joy filling up her eyes. "It's beautiful, thank you, Eli." She turned to Elliot and mouthed a 'thank you' as she lay her head on his shoulder.
"I pulled Eli's name, so here's your gift." Maureen handed him a box wrapped in Curious George wrapping.
"Curious George!" Eli jumped up when he unwrapped enough of the wrapping to see what it was. "He knows my name! He knows my name, Mommy!" The plushie was wearing white and light blue striped pajamas and holding a white blanket. Eli's name was sewn onto the blanket that Curious George was holding, right under the words 'Sweet Dreams'. "Thank you, Maureen!"
Elliot handed a box to Maureen, it was wrapped in white wrapping paper with snowflakes on it.
Carefully, she unwrapped the paper and opened the box that contained her gift. With a smile on her face, she pulled out a black Fjällräven Kanken backpack.
"I remember you talking about these bags when you were talking with Olivia about fashion a while ago so I thought I'd get you one. If you don't like it I can return it…"
"It's great Dad, thank you. You picked a great color, I really like it." She neatly placed the backpack to her side and looked back up at them.
"I guess it's my turn isn't it?" Olivia picked up a small box from right next to her, it was only about 8 inches by 3 inches by 2 inches so it wasn't large at all.
"It's quite small isn't it?" He said with a smile as he grabbed the box from her hands.
"The best things come in small packages though, don't they?" She rested her head back on his shoulder as he opened the gift.
He picked up the small silver cuff links that had some of Eli's drawings printed on them. "These are wonderful Liv." He kissed her on the head and hugged her.
"There's more." The smile that was on her face wouldn't budge as he dug back into the box. Underneath a layer of tissue paper, she had put another gift for him, something she knew he'd love.
He picked up the other gift with a look of shock on his face, one that caused tears of happiness to surface.
Eli cocked his head to one side. "A stick? You got him a stick for Christmas Mommy?"
Elliot opened his mouth to say something several times but nothing came out. Her head liefted off of his shoulder and she hugged him once again. She moved his hand that was around her waist to her stomach and held it there. "Merry Christmas, Elliot."
