Frisk took a bit of a rest from all the punishment he had received.

Chara took a seat and kept staring at him, long and hard after they had the big talk. Her head leaned against her arm as her gaze fixated on him. Finally, after much thought, she somehow understood what she must do to make it up to Frisk.

There weren't many things that could work for Chara when it came to an equal exchange. After all, she had done some terrible things, and It only made sense that a similar something was offered.

"Frisk," Chara called.

Frisk didn't respond.

"Frisk," she called again, and she got an answer this time.

"What is it, Chara?" Frisk rolled over, seeing her staring at him.

"Jenny is waiting for us back at her house," Chara states.

"That's fine," Frisk replied, turning over. Then, after getting some rest, he sat up from the bed and yawned, "Let's go then," Frisk then stood up, walking towards the door, when suddenly Chara quickly grabbed his arm and pulled him towards her.

"Wait!" Chara said, "I want to tell you something."

Frisk was surprised by her actions and turned to face her, "What was so important?" He thought.

"After thinking about how I abused you before I realized. It's only fair that I give you something in return," Chara explained.

"Really?" Frisk replied, "But, the only thing I ever asked was for you to train me. Now that Jenny is doing that, I'm not sure what I want?" Frisk said, but then it dawned on him.

"How about this, since I was the one that raped you. How about I give you a blowjob every so often. I'm sure that wouldn't be a problem for you, right, Frisk? After all, you're getting stressed lately. You definitely could use the release," Chara said.

"I..." Frisk was speechless. Did Chara offer to give him a blowjob without cutting corners or putting a price tag on it? That couldn't be right. There had to be a catch somewhere in there.

"What's the catch?" Frisk asked, "What do you want for giving me a blowjob?" He added.

"Nothing, no catch. Did you not just hear what I said? I want to make this exchange between us more friendly. I raped you before, and it's only fair that what I give you is of the same variety," She states.

"Why can't I just have sex with you?" Frisk said. He did feel like he betrayed himself by saying that.

"Frisk," Chara replied, "I will not engage in vaginal sex with you, don't push your luck," Chara crossed her arms in annoyance.

"You're playing hard to get," Frisk noticed her behaviour.

"You can get me later," Chara replied.

Frisk's eyes widened at how easily she admitted that. Did she mean that one day, he could actually-

"Blowjob is all I can offer you at the moment. But, even if you don't want a blowjob, I can relieve your stress otherways," Chara stated.

"I don't know, Chara, that sounds incredibly unreasonable. Why would you think I would want to use you like that?" Frisk said. It didn't feel right to him, "Do you think I'm the type of person who would want to use someone else for sexual relief? I know what we agreed upon, but I'm not like you,"

"You don't have to if you don't want to. The offer still stands. So, if you feel like you want to be kind to me, that's fine. I'm just telling you, you can if you want," Chara said.

"If that's what you want," Frisk turned, giving his head a scratch.

"It'll make me feel better, Frisk," Chara said, "So, do you want one right now?"

"What, now?" Frisk was startled.

"Of course, we still have time," Chara smirked.

Frisk knew she would push him down right now and milk him dry like the last time if he agreed. Chara might have offered to suck his dick, but it won't be simple.

"Wait, hold on," Frisk pushed her away, not giving into temptation.

"So, you're not up for it after all?" Chara looked a bit disappointed. She was sure that he would want to.

"That's not it, Chara," Frisk looked at her seriously, "Can this wait until after we raid the fort?"

"Ah, I get it," Chara gave him a smug look, "He wants it, but he's shy. Perhaps I can fix that when we get to Elina," She thought.

"Alright then, Frisk, after we take care of Elina, I promise to suck that huge cock of yours, alright?" Chara disappeared behind him, presumably going back into his body.

"Does she have to say it exactly like that? It's embarrassing, " Frisk said.

At least it seems like she's back to normal, although he wasn't fond of how assertive she was or dominant was the word. Frisk seemed out of this world to see Chara being so nice to him. So what in the world possessed her to want to give me a blowjob.

"Honestly, where did that come from," Frisk thought.

After sending his regards to Joseph, he left the building and later town, heading to Jenny's house. Where both, Flowey and Jenny were awaiting their arrival.

Meanwhile~~~~

Jenny made some tea and was sitting at the table. The entire time she sipped her tea while staring directly at Flowey, who did the same.

"So," Jenny broke the silence, "You're a talking flower?"

"That's correct," Flowey answered, "Is that surprising?"

"No...no," she answered, "Just...different, I've never seen anything like you," Her gaze was piercing.

"If you continue staring, I might start believing that it'll kill me," Flowey said sarcastically.

"I think I'll keep you in my sights. Chara didn't look like she enjoyed your company," Jenny stated.

"Chara's always grumpy. It would be best if you didn't believe everything she says," Flowey said.

"You dare say that in my presence? You only confirm my suspicions," Jenny glared at him, increasing the threat of those piercing eyes locked onto him.

Flowey smiled indifferently

"Calm down, Jenny. I'm scared of Chara; even if I were what you paint me, I wouldn't even dream of doing anything," Flowey said sincerely. He wasn't lying; Chara's existence terrified him.

"Assuming that's true, good," Jenny replied, "Keeping something under your thumb that acts hostile will teach it something one day," she stated, sipping her tea afterwards.

"Heh, I keep getting mocked at every corner," Flowey thought, "At this point, it's nothing new, whatever,"

After another moment, the door swung open. Frisk stepped forward alongside Chara, who quickly caught sight of, Flowey.

"Why are you taking up space at the table. Get on the floor; that's where flowers belong," Chara didn't look at him and only spoke to him as she passed by.

Flowey dropped to the ground while Frisk took his spot.

"Great company, am I right, Frisk?" Flowey commented.

"Good to see you too, Flowey," Frisk said.

"As usual, Frisk wasn't as mean or cold-hearted as Chara," Flowey thought.

"So, is everyone ready to play their parts?" Chara said, immediately taking command of everyone present.

"Yep," Jenny answered.

"I don't think you need my answer," Frisk lightly raised his hand as he spoke.

"Flowey?" Chara glared at him.

"Jenny and I will deal with the monsters. Just send the signal when you're ready," He reassured her.

"Good, don't screw it up as you did with another plan," Chara said.

"But I'm luring them; Jenny's only killing any stragglers," Flowey frowned, thinking to himself.

"Jenny, I'll need that map," Chara leaned forward against the table.

"Here," Jenny said, reaching into her inner pocket and handing Chara a wrapped-up piece of paper.

"Thanks, angel," Chara winked.

"Hush, now," Jenny said, holding the cup with two hands and hiding her blush.

"Alright, Frisk, we're leaving first. We have to be stationed near the fort when night falls," Chara said.

"Are you," Frisk pointed at himself while standing up, "Do you need to use my body again?" He asked.

"Yes, It'll be faster to travel if I'm in control. But, don't worry, I will give you back your body once we are there. Then, you will participate in the battle if one is required, of course," Chara said.

"Alright," Frisk agreed.

Chara disappeared, and soon, Frisk's entire physical appearance began to change into Chara.

Jenny stared long and hard at how the change took place.

"After seeing that take place and seeing you both separately, I'm having a tough time thinking about it," Jenny said.

"What?" Chara questioned.

"You both share a very similar appearance," Jenny replied, "Has that never raised any questions?"

Chara continued to look at Jenny, then she glanced around the room for a moment, then back at Jenny.

"I suppose you raise a point; however, Frisk and I are not related because my parents are dead," Chara said, "You know this as well, Jenny,"

The only parents Chara ever knew were Asgore and Toriel, and her thoughts recalled Asriel as her only brother for a brief moment.

She shook her head, looking back at, Flowey and then glared at him furiously before returning her attention to Jenny.

"What was that look for?" Flowey thought.

"Yes, I am aware, but still, it's rather odd," Jenny stood up, walking straight up to her.

"Although you never always wore a green sweater with a yellow stripe, you do now is very interesting in contrast to Frisk's blue striped shirt,"

"If Frisk changed his hair to match yours and wore your clothes. He could easily pass off as you," Jenny said.

"Hmm," Chara held her chin in thought for a moment, then entered inside their mind, to where both Frisk and Chara could speak freely.

Chara stood there looking over, Frisk's person and he the same.

It was odd.

"Did you always wear clothes like this, Frisk?" Chara asked.

Chara walked straight up to him. Chara was slightly taller than him, so it was far more noticeable at this distance.

"Ever since I was a child, I did," Frisk then turned away," However, these clothes have become relatively small. They are the only clothes I've worn,"

"It's different for me, however," Chara looked at her body, "I only started wearing this sweater because of Asriel's mother, Toriel," Chara held her head in embarrassment.

"My clothes ripped from the fall, and I remember having to walk around basically naked until moth-, I mean, Toriel gave me new clothes," Chara held her sweater with both hands getting a closer, more attentive look at it.

"Was there anything in particular that made you keep wearing it?" Frisk asked.

Chara thought for a moment regarding Frisk's question, and she waved.

"I'm not sure, or rather, I don't want to talk about this right now; let's move on,"

Chara opened her eyes, back in the house with Jenny and Flowey.

"You pose an interesting question, Jenny, but at the moment, we must focus on what is currently in front of us," Chara said.

"Okay, I get it," Jenny sat back down and continued sipping her tea, "I was just curious,"

"I know," Chara closed her eyes and said.

...

After passing on their regards, Chara moved away from the house and sped through the forest at high speed. The fort was a few miles out; however, she could make it there before nightfall with her strength and speed.

She made sure to go as fast as possible. But, at the same time, the last conversation with Jenny kept crawling back into her mind.

Chara spent a lot of time outside the surface, but the time spent inside the underground was unique, and no matter how much Chara wished to forget what happened, she couldn't.

"Fucking hell," Chara cursed, "Why must I keep remembering those times. I'm not a fucking child, and I'm not some loser; why was I ever so at peace," Chara thought, beginning to experience a personality crisis.

"I can't imagine it," Chara thought, "What would have become of me if Asriel succeeded and my friends, the six soul bearers, weren't killed,"

Chara came to an abrupt halt, jogging over to a tree in deep thought.

"What kind of person would I have become after experiencing the underground," Chara looked up, highly annoyed.

"It's a good thing everything happened; I could see myself becoming like those losers," Chara said aloud.

She resumed her march through the forest until she was atop a hill. The fort lay in front of her, far off in the distance—less than a mile.

She turned around and looked at the ground.

Chara reverted to Frisk.

Frisk was startled at the sudden control returned to him.

"What...what happened?" Frisk asked.

"Let's set up a campfire here," Chara then wandered off.

"Wait, will that give us away?" Frisk turned back, seeing the fort in the distance,

"It's right there," He pointed towards the fort.

"Not from here," Chara replied, "and if they did, why would they suspect an enemy," Chara said, walking into the forest.

After fifteen minutes, Chara returned with wood.

Frisk had brought up a few logs to sit on and created a fire pit.

"Nice job," Chara observed, placing the logs in the pit.

"Can't let you do all the work, can I" Frisk smiled. It felt relatively peaceful getting even remotely along with Chara.

Chara did not respond to him right away; she crouched down towards the firepit and tried to light the fire. After a couple of seconds, a flame was created and soon, fire engulfed the wood.

"Hmph," Chara sat down across from Frisk, looking into the flames and then back at Frisk, "Thanks," She said.

"No problem,"

Chara clicked her teeth, looking away.

"Is something the matter?" Frisk was a bit worried that he may have offended her somehow.

"It's nothing," Chara said.

"Are you sure? You have been rather quiet, also..." Frisk looked away for a moment, "I may have been listening in earlier,"

"Don't you know it's bad manners to eavesdrop," Chara said, slightly annoyed.

"Sorry, but...haven't you done that with me plenty of times?"

Chara sighed, "You're right; I have, haven't I."

Chara glanced away from the fire and into the darkness below the hill after a few moments of silence.

"Do you think I'm a...good person?" Chara asked.

Chara wasn't sure what to expect; the answer seemed rather obvious from Frisk's perceptive.

"Nope, you're an evil bitch," Frisk bluntly replied.

Chara squinted her eyes, not fond of Frisk's use of the word.

"Could you not have said it like that?"

"Sorry, you looked serious about it; I thought I should be honest," Frisk replied, "You don't seem like a good person, with what I've seen and what you've done," Frisk continued to speak frankly, "there isn't any way to say this, but you are the polar opposite, of a good person, Chara,"

Chara looked back into the flames after hearing what Frisk had to say.

"Polar opposite of a good person," Chara lightly smiled, "That's good then," Chara said.

"Huh?" Frisk was confused, "Why do you care so much about that anyway?"

"Because I don't want to be a pushover, being good-natured is a weakness; only losers act kind, always trying to appease everyone's feelings. It's perfect for others to exploit you, and half the time, none of them ever know it's happening,"

Frisk shook his head, "Underneath all my insecurities, Chara, I thought you were clever, but your view on good people is simply wrong,"

"Are you trying to lecture me?" Chara retorted.

"No, I just think you're wrong about viewing good-natured individuals as always being pushovers and losers," Frisk replied, "I know what kind of person you are, Chara. You're a dominant person, always wanting to be in control," Frisk said. He didn't say any more than he needed to because the truth is, there wasn't anything else to say.

"And that's how I will always be, Frisk," Chara answered.

"I know," Frisk replied, "But good people aren't all losers and pushovers,"

"I'll agree to disagree; after all, I know you are a good person, Frisk," Chara said, "And perhaps you aren't entirely a pushover, not entirely,"

"I know, and that's how I will always be, Chara," Frisk said, looking directly at her.

"Also, I'm not a bitch," Chara stoked the fire with a stick.

"Well, I mean, aren't all dominant people kind of bitchy?" Frisk said.

"Is that how you're going to play this?" Chara looked back at him.

"Yep," Frisk smiled, "I hope you're not offended,"

"Oh no, not at all," Chara gave him a smirk, "I just didn't think you were capable of any comebacks,"

"Huh? Why?"

"Because you're submissive, Frisk," Chara said.

After hearing that, Frisk frowned and looked down at the fire, proving her point.

"See, like that," Chara pointed at him with the burning stick.

"Acting like a puppy who just got in trouble,"

"Hey!" Frisk barked back.

"Now, just an angry puppy," Chara smiled.

"Damn it," Frisk crossed his arms.

"Now a pouting puppy," Chara gave him a smug expression.

"Your teasing isn't funny," Frisk said.

Frisk uncrossed his arms and focused on the fire as his mind wandered. What Chara said may not be entirely far-fetched.

"Maybe a little," Frisk answered.

"A little?"

"I might be a little submissive," Frisk said.

"Nope," Chara disagreed.

"What?"

"You are one-hundred percent submissive," Chara stoked the fire, "You might act a little assertive now and then, but you are without a doubt a submissive person, Frisk,"

"Well," Frisk turned his head, "How can I be more...dominant? I don't want to be trampled over by everyone my entire life," Frisk said.

"You don't have to worry about that," Chara fixed her gaze on him, "Because I won't let anyone walk all over you," Chara said seriously.

"You are mine, and mine alone,"

"I'm what?" A visible blush appeared across Frisk's face. What was Chara saying?

"You're mine, Frisk. As long as I'm here, no one will ever walk all over you,"

"I see..." Frisk looked down at the fire once again, thinking about how to process what Chara said.

"Don't worry; I'm not saying you're my slave," Chara reassured him.

"Oh...no, I wasn't thinking about that,"

"Regardless, that's not what I'm saying. In this relationship, I'm saying that I'm the dominant partner and you're the submissive partner,"

"That sounds highly sexual, Chara,"

"You're only making it sound sexual; not everything has to be sexual," Chara replied, "Most relationships are one of the two types, both or share each quality.

"Are you saying that both partners can be dominant? How does that work."

"Hah, don't ask me; I wouldn't be able to handle that, but it is possible," Chara answered.

"What kind of relationship do we even have, Chara?"

"What kind of relationship?" Chara repeated, "Just a regular one, or are you perhaps trying to confess to me?" Chara teased.

"Uh, I was just saying in general..." Frisk corrected.

"We're travelling in the same body, Frisk. We will inevitably develop a relationship; it may not be a lover's relationship, but that doesn't change that I'm the dominant one in this relationship, and you're the submissive. That much will be constant," Chara stated.

"I get it. I suppose there isn't any point in changing how I am, is there?"

"You can act more assertive if you want; I don't mind," Chara said, "But if you're asking for my opinion, I honestly like you the way you are, not because I'm trying to control you or anything,"

"What about Jenny?" Frisk asked.

"When regarding Jenny, she plays both roles, in our relationship, mine and Jenny's, she acts submissively. However, there are occasions when she plays at being dominant, only because I enjoy it sometimes,"

Frisk was listening closely and felt suddenly taken back by what she said at the end. So Chara can enjoy it if the other partner is dominant?

"So, do you play submissive if she's in the dominant role?"

"Nope, I will only act in the submissive role, but it doesn't disguise my dominant position, true submissiveness is far different, but it's enjoyable none of the less," Chara said.

"And you said this wasn't sexual. It sounds like how one acts in the bedroom," Frisk laughed.

"Is that so?" Chara stood up and walked over towards Frisk, who leaned back as she approached.

"Every person has their characteristics. They define who you are, some people have dominant traits or submissive traits, and others, like Jenny, can have both. So it's not just how a person acts in the bedroom. These traits will carry over into their day-to-day lives," Chara pointed out.

"By just walking over here, I noticed you tensed up, and you leaned back almost like you wanted to move away from me," Chara observed, "Even after all we spoke about, you act submissive, which is true to yourself," Chara pointed out.

Frisk took a moment to reflect on himself and then took another look back at Chara. Her face suddenly close to his; if she moved any further, she could kiss him.

"Eh," He said in surprise; when did she get close.

"The way you react to certain situations is also true to a sub," Chara said while directly in front of him, "Do you know what I would have done if I was in the same spot?"

"No-" Frisk answered but was interrupted when Chara vanished from his sight. He felt a bit nervous. She wasn't anywhere in front of him. His eyes widened as a hand gripped his shoulder, as her breath brushed against his ear.

"I would steal those lips for myself," Chara whispered; Frisk turned, and she was gone again.

She appeared in front, straddling him. She held him close with both hands—one arm wrapped around him and the other around his cheek.

"You tensed up at first, leaned back to run when I appeared behind you, you became nervous, and instead shrunk forward when I whispered into your ear. Finally, you lessened your muscles and dropped your resistance," Chara whispered as their lips were only inches apart. The only place Frisk could look was in front of him.

"Now that I'm in front of you, sitting on your lap, lips almost touching. You've melted in my hand almost immediately," Chara said.

"Chara-please"

"Hush now," Chara whispered, "Let it happen," Chara leaned in and, as she said, stole his lips, forcing her tongue through to meet his own. Frisk resisted, but he found himself using his tongue too.

Chara completely dominated him, and Frisk couldn't do a thing about it. So Frisk indeed was a sub in this scenario.

Frisk and Chara continued for a couple of minutes. Frisk was lost in his world as their tongues caressed each other.

Chara then pulled away.

"You see, Frisk," Chara said, "You possess strong submissive qualities, even if you try and assert yourself. It is who you are, Frisk," Chara explained.

"I...understand," He said, a little short of breath.

"In relationships, whether between friends or lovers, one side will usually lead, while the other follows. If both sides possess dominant traits, then conflicts will occur, as both try to assert their control over the other and vice versa. Both will need to harmonize their relationship if they are to continue. In contrast, a dominant person leading a submissive person is far healthier as long as the relationship isn't abusive, there won't be any issues,"

"I know I was wrong in the beginning, I tried to control you by force, even when you did what I wanted, and when you didn't, I tortured you," Chara stood up—giving back control.

"That is a perfect example of abuse in a dominant x submissive relationship. Just because one person controls or leads the other doesn't mean the other person has to be miserable. They can be happy as well,"

Chara turned on the spot.

"Some noble ladies are like this. They will marry themselves off to be financially stable and live a comfortable life with their husband, even if they never had any prior relationship; as long as she is happy, she will follow her husband.

"That doesn't sound healthy," Frisk said, still recovering from the make-out he just had with Chara.

"That's sort of true. The noble lady doesn't love the man or vice versa. However, after many years the two of them may get closer to each other and begin to develop real feelings, which either doesn't work out or buds into something beautiful," Chara said, staring back towards the flames.

"You'll find that nobles aren't the only type of people that do that, and just as there are people who sell themselves off for comfort, there are other examples," Chara sat back down and continued.

"Some women marry off and control the man and his wealth after the marriage. They don't want to sit around living comfortable with the wealth but control it as well,

Men can be guilty of these things, not just women so I won't discriminate between sides. Unfortunately, however, most men are the ones who usually control the other person. That is what is most typical in this world, after all."

Frisk scratched his head indifferently at the end of what she said.

"Not you, though, Frisk," Chara said, noticing his discomfort. She smugly said, "I'm a woman, and you are a man, but it's pretty clear that I'm the one in control here,"

"So you do..." Frisk agreed. It wasn't something he could argue; It was the undeniable truth.

"Don't worry, I won't harm you anymore, but I still expect you to follow me," Chara said.

"I know, and I expect you to sometimes listen to what I have to say,"

"I don't want to be a voiceless companion," Frisk stated.

"Fair enough," Chara agreed.

"One final example, sometimes people will sell themselves off as slaves, or remain slaves even if they have a chance at freedom," Chara said.

"You're serious? Why would anyone want to do that, to endure that?" Frisk said, dumbfounded by the discovery.

"Because if they have nothing waiting for them out in the world, what will they do? Become beggers? Starve to death? People will go to any length to survive. At least, as a slave, they will have food and shelter. Sure, I understand living as a slave is terrible, and some often die if horrible people buy them, but to them, it's a better alternative to starvation or sickness," Chara said.

"I can't agree on the point. Maybe it's just because I've lived as a slave,"

"It doesn't help that I also contributed to it afterwards, so you have a right to judge, but not all slaves lived the same cruelty you have. It might be terrible that people live as slaves. Your situation was more extreme, Frisk," Chara said.

Frisk fixated on the campfire. As she spoke, it felt like he could see the events of his trauma play out like a picture inside the flames.

"Frisk," Chara called out.

"Sorry, It's just a little hard to listen to all that," Frisk said.

"It's okay. Let us change the subject for the night,"

Chara and Frisk sat around the fire sharing in the conversation ever so often until nightfall came. Then, finally, Chara stood up, ending the conversation for the night. She looked off into the distance towards the fort, then turned towards Frisk.

Seeing her expression, he rose to his feet.

"Is it time?"

"It is," Chara said. She stomped out the fire with her feet and then walked towards the cliff's edge. Chara stood without a word until she turned to face Frisk briefly.

"Are you ready?" Chara said.

"Yeah," Frisk nodded.

~~~
Standing at the base of the fort, Chara and Frisk snuck close to the walls without being noticed.
"Wait here, and I'll take care of this," Chara whispered. She stepped forward off the wall and turned around before she did anything. She smiled at Frisk before bending her knees and jumping straight up to the battlements.
Swiftly, she landed between the openings to the battlements. One of the guards saw her immediately and prepared to yell, but she quickly lunged forward, knife in hand, stabbing him directly in the neck. The guard couldn't scream. Instead, he sluggishly stepped forward, trying to stop the blood, but soon fell to the ground, no longer moving.
Another guard heard the thud of the previous guard's body and turned on the spot. He saw the body on the ground, and Chara quickly tried to alert the rest of the guardsmen, but Chara stopped that.
She summoned yet another knife and shot it forward at high speed as accurately as possible. As expected, the blade ran through the guard's neck. He fell backwards onto the ground holding his throat, unable to make any other noise except the gargling of his blood and soon stopped moving.
Chara stood in place, glancing around the battlements. Then, before any more guards discover her and the bodies, she scouted twelve more guards. Chara raised her hand after identifying their locations as a show of strength. Next, she created twelve blades, aligned them perfectly, and waved her hand, sending them flying towards their destination.
After a moment, each blade found its target and all of the edges aimed for the neck. But unfortunately, the guards weren't aware and soon fell to the stone floor, unaware of what killed them.
Chara smiled at her work.
"Come up, Frisk," Chara said, sending a telepathic message to him.
Frisk stepped forward off the wall and turned to look up. But, instead, he looked down, then back up towards the battlements and gave a conflicted expression.
"What's the holdup, Frisk" Chara scanned the courtyard and battlements, keeping an eye on any approaching guards.
"Uh, so how do I jump up there?" Frisk said, unable to do what she did.
"You're joking, right?" Chara said, surprised.
"No..." Frisk helplessly added.
Chara turned to look back and shook her head.
"Wrap your soul power around your feet and then jump. It's simple," Chara said.
"Simple you say," Frisk shook his head. Chara only makes everything look simple.
Doing as instructed, Frisk took position slightly, spreading his legs. Then he jumped straight up.
"SHIT!" Frisk exclaimed.
Frisk jumped too high, sending him too far into the air above the battlements. Like his training with Jenny, Frisk put too much strength into his legs.
Chara noticed his mistake and quickly jumped onto the battlements, grabbing hold of the stone with all her strength, and then held her hand out.
Frisk quickly met gravity and soon fell back to the ground. However, Chara quickly caught his hand, which caused him to collide with the stone wall below.
"You're already making trouble for me, Frisk," Chara annoyed him.
"I'm very sorry," Frisk said, still hanging off the side of the wall.
"You better be. If I were Jenny, you would have been punished when we got back," Chara said and wasn't about to pull him up yet. Instead, she glanced between the courtyard and him to ensure that this little stunt didn't earn them extra attention.
"Uh..." Frisk was a bit taken back.
"Jenny's your master, remember; it doesn't matter if it's training or not. She would certainly have done so, don't take her lightly, Frisk," Chara stated, "In the future, if you ever screw up this badly, and Jenny's around to see it happen, you'll face the consequences," Chara said.
"Hey, this is my first time trying to jump into high places. That isn't fair," Frisk said.
"Oh, for fuck sakes," Chara pulled Frisk up to the battlements and over the side. Then, she shoved him into the wall, "You already learned what it means to control your strength. You should be aware of what happens when you don't," Chara whispered furiously.
"But...that was different, that was a wooden sword this-"
"Frisk!" Chara said, "You're missing the point. Regardless of the two scenarios, both require knowledge and the know-how of your strength," Chara stated, "It should have been common sense based on the distance between the bottom and the top, but you didn't even think about that, did you?"
"I-"
Chara quickly shut him up by placing a finger over his mouth.
"Don't speak from now on," Chara demanded, "You will only nod your head from now on. Do I make myself clear,"
He nodded in agreement. He didn't want to anger Chara now, of all places.
Chara looked back towards the courtyard and noticed some of the soldiers were finishing up. Soon a shift change would occur; what awful timing. Once they switch, the guard heading towards the battlements will find the bodies, and the time to fix that is over.
Chara turned back to look at Frisk.
"I wouldn't have cared if you failed to jump high enough and fell back to the bottom. That's a lesson you can quickly come back from with a few more attempts. You would have adapted promptly, but you were careless," Chara said.
Frisk raised his hand. He wished to speak in this scenario. Chara gave him a glance for a moment.
"The time for apologizing comes later, Frisk," Chara rejected his request. Which made him frown, but he resolved himself right away and nodded.
"Good," Chara let go of him and stepped back, overlooking the courtyard. But, as she feared, the switch was in progress, and soon things would get chaotic.
She looked back at him and said.
"Let's see how well you can fight, Frisk," Chara approached him, and suddenly, Frisk could tell she was about to do something terrible!
"Now, don't scream, Frisk," She smiled. Frisk swallowed some saliva seeing her approach.
She grabbed the collar of his shirt, and without any warning, she threw him over her shoulder into the courtyard below.
Surprised by the outcome, he wanted to scream.
"Don't you dare scream!" Chara reminded him, observing him from above as he fell straight to the ground, alerting all the soldiers in front of him.
Frisk held himself as he recovered from the pain of falling and quickly noticed he was surrounded.
"Who are you!" One of the soldiers yelled.
"It's an intruder!" Another yelled, "Alert Elina!" He yelled.
Shocked by the development, Frisk quickly rose to his feet and summoned a sword to his hand. This whole situation was ridiculous, suddenly thrown here because of Chara. Yet, he couldn't even voice his complaint.
Chara saw some of the soldiers rushing inside to alert the rest.
"Not going to happen, I'm afraid," She threw her arm out and covered every opening in the barracks and main building.
"If this were me in my prime, I could have covered both buildings entirely," Chara thought, "But this will have to do for now,"
Chara noticed that he was soon surrounded by soldiers, too many for him to handle.
"Don't get distracted, Frisk," Chara called out.
"Who is that!"
"Another intruder!"
"Take care of it!" One of the other soldiers yelled.
Four soldiers stayed behind to deal with Frisk while another four rushed towards Chara. The rest of them tried to break her barriers around the doors into the main building and Barracks, which yielded no results.
The rest of the soldiers inside would hear the commotion, and Elina would get involved, but Chara doubted that. They should be capable of dealing with this mess before she has time to interfere.
Chara glanced down once again and came up with something on the spot. She may be a terrible teacher, but how bad could she screw up giving him instruction.
The blame would then be entirely up to him.
"Frisk," Chara said telepathically, "Pay attention now. You have four soldiers in front of you,"
Frisk readied his stance just like he learned in training. Only now, he has to put it into action.
"You don't have to control your strength for this, so forget any notion of doing so. When it comes to dealing with trash, you take it out swiftly," Frisk couldn't help but hear the joke in all that.
"You have a soldier who fancy's long-range, two swordsmen and a spearman,
"In a fight with multiple enemies, you have to set priorities. So, naturally, the enemy with the highest priority is the one you deal with first. Then the second, the third, the fourth and so on.
The person with the highest priority is marked by how much of an advantage they give to their side. For example, the one with the spear is far more dangerous than the swordsmen.
They can attack at a distance and poke away at you, separating your attention from the main attackers, the swordsmen in front. Then you have the ranged fighter from behind who will dish out projectiles, preventing you from getting closer and allowing them to hold control over the battle," Chara explained while she was strafing between attacks from the soldiers in front of her. It didn't seem like she was at all bothered by the situation.
"So, Frisk, what is the highest priority. Who do you kill first," She said, side-stepping a thrust from a spearman atop the battlements. She grabbed the spear's shaft and pulled it back. Unable to handle her strength, the soldier let go of the spear.
She laughed, infusing her aura into it and swung her arm back, throwing the spear. The spear penetrated the unaware soldier in the chest.
The soldier in front was stunned at what happened because he let go of his weapon.
"What a shame," Chara mocked, looking at the display, "Looks like you got your friend killed," Chara slowly turned her head back towards the guard with a smug look.
"YOU BITC-" The guard's neck was instantly slashed by Chara, interrupting the soldier.
"What a bore..." Chara muttered, turning towards the remaining two.
Frisk steadied himself and remembered what Chara said.
"The highest priority in a fight," He repeated in his mind.
The swordsmen will lead the fight directly, while the spearmen will keep themselves at a distance and prevent them from making any good moves. The ranged fighter will keep him at a distance, making him unable to get close.
Frisk glanced at the swordsmen, then the spearman, while it was confirmed that the soldier with the spear had an advantage over him. The ranged fighter had the most considerable advantage overall.
"That's the highest priority," Frisk thought.
Frisk breathed in and exhaled. Instantly he jumped up onto the wall, using it as a platform.
He couldn't recklessly go through the enemy. So instead, he would go over them.
Frisk bent his knees as his feet landed against the wall, remembering what Chara told him. Frisk controlled and summoned the strength required and then propelled himself forward over all the soldiers.
Chara deflected an attack from a soldier and jumped back, observing Frisk's answer.
Chara smiled, seeing him launch over the soldiers landing right behind the ranged soldier.
"He chose correctly," Chara muttered, "and even controlled his strength. He adapts quickly,"
Frisk quickly steeled himself for this moment. He was prepared to kill another person to move forward with himself, push out his weaker half and allow the stronger half to take shape.
He raised his sword high and slashed forward across the soldier's back. Followed by a scream, the soldier dropped to his knees. The soldier's armour couldn't withstand the attack and was cut right through like paper.
Frisk was shocked for a moment. Finally, he killed someone through his power without needing somebody else.
"Don't get cocky," Chara rang throughout his mind.
Frisk heard what she had said and shook his head. Then, Frisk was back in form, ready to attack his next target.
"I'll tell Jenny about this," Chara said.
Chara then dodged a strike from a soldier without even looking in their direction. This battle was an absolute joke to her that she didn't even need to pay attention to them.
Back at Frisk's perceptive, three of them remained. Based on Chara's words, once he had taken care of the highest priority, the next to follow was...Frisk glanced at the spearman.
"The spearman," Frisk thought.
"Allow me to assist," Chara telepathically said, "Rush the spearman," She said.
Frisk immediately obeyed her orders.
"Based on the skill level of these soldiers, I do not doubt that he will only have two options of countering your advance. He will either try and attack you by thrusting forward coated in the aura or step back and try to block your attack,
"If he tries to block, continue your attack. His spear can't stop you; the difference in power is far too significant. However, if he tries to attack you, side-step at the last second and deliver a blow," Chara explained.
Frisk heard everything she said and was rushing in close. As soon as he did, the spearman began to react. The soldier's arms pulled back. What was he going to do? Attack or defend. It didn't take long for Frisk to find out. The soldier stepped forward and shot his arms forward, holding onto the spear firmly.
It was an attack!
Frisk quickly moved to the side as the spear was above to pierce right through his upper body. As he did, he promptly came to a halt and struck forward with a mighty swing, cutting right through the spear's shaft and the soldier's armour.
The force of Frisk's swing sent the soldier flying into the battlement walls and onto the ground. He was no longer moving.
"Hmph," Chara crossed her arms, "Not bad for his first time. It's different than fighting monsters where you have to be quicker on your feet all the time, but he understands,"
"Two more, Frisk, let me assist one more time. After that, you're on your own," Chara said telepathically again.
"I understand, master-" Frisk instinctively placed a hand on his mouth even though they spoke telepathically.
"Did you just," Chara stopped and uncrossed her arms, bewildered.
"No, you didn't hear anything," Frisk quickly denied.
"You did. You just tried to call me master just now, didn't you?" Chara was totally on the money with that.
"I would want to tease you, but I am teaching you to fight amid combat as it stands right now. So shouldn't you call me master too, Frisk," Chara smugly said.
"You're just trying to get me to call you that," Frisk closed his eyes, trying to deny it.
"Pay attention, eyes forward, Frisk," Chara quickly reminded him.
Frisk opened his eyes and gripped his weapon firmly.
Despite Frisk's denial, he was following through with her orders, and because of that, he was able to dispatch the soldiers relatively quickly.
Even though Chara did say that they weren't that skilled before all this started. Her exact words were along the lines of saying they were trash.
"Fine," Frisk gave in.
"Oh?" Chara was surprised by his sudden answer.
She wasn't going to push it any further and moved on to dealing with the weaklings trying to bite at her ankles. However, Frisk could only make her smile from her position atop the battlements.
"Don't worry, Frisk. It'll only be for battles; does that sound fair?" Chara said.
"Fine, although Jenny did say you were a terrible teacher," Frisk replied.
"Ha, I can still give instructions, though. Now, focus!" Chara quickly changed the topic.
"Yes, master!" Frisk said.
"Heh," Chara couldn't help but smile now she got what she desired. But, of course, it made it all the more excited.
"Listen closely; the two in front of you are pathetic trash. The soldiers in this fort only know how to infuse their weapons with aura, while some of the others learn how to throw out half-baked ranged attacks, not even the same level as monsters, but despite being trash, their power is real and dangerous, don't think you can sit still and take a hit,
"Wait for them to make their move. Chances are, going by what they have seen you do. They will try to attack together in hopes of overpowering you, but don't fret. Summon your shield and wait on my orders," Chara explained.
Frisk raised his left arm, creating a circular shield of determination.
"I'm going to admit that all of this is unnecessary as the soldiers in front of you are so weak you could attack them recklessly, and they wouldn't be capable of doing anything. However, you'll be fighting more challenging battles against human enemies in the future. This knowledge is indispensable to your growth, and as such, I will not allow any mistakes, understood," Chara added.
"Yes, master"
"Good," Chara felt her heart tugged hearing Frisk call her master. It felt surprisingly good.
The soldiers remained idle long enough and rushed together as Chara predicted. But then, it suddenly hit Frisk with a realization of an important lesson he learned a while ago with Litzy.
As his thoughts spun in his mind, it felt like the entire world slowed down.
"Litzy did say that predicting how your enemy will react is important for future battles. But, how exactly do people predict what someone will do?" Frisk thought.
Frisk exited his trance while the soldiers charged him with their swords raised above their heads. They quickly came into melee range just and immediately struck down at him. As they were swinging forward, Frisk could only watch as the world slowed down again. The trajectory of their blades aimed for his neck.
"Now use your shield, Frisk, and deflect the attack!" Chara called out.
Like his life depended on it, Frisk pulled his shield arm back and swung it as hard as possible.
Both the soldier's swords got deflected, causing them to lose their balance.
"Now deliver a powerful horizontal strike to both of them," Chara added.
Frisk gripped his sword firmly and, with proper enough form, swung forward to the left. But, unfortunately, their armour stopped nothing, and both soldiers got shredded apart. Once more, the strength of Frisk was no joke. Despite two of them, they both were thrown into the background into the dirt from the force of his attack.
Frisk was adequately stunned. He didn't realize how strong he was. Frisk looked down at his sword and shield. That was the first parry he ever performed, and it was also his first successful one.
Chara stepped up behind him, giving him a round of applause.
"Good job. I didn't doubt you for a second," Chara said truthfully.
"Aha, right..." Frisk felt a bit uncomfortable, "It's all thanks to you, Chara,"
"Don't you mean, It's all thanks to you, master?"
"Uh..." Frisk stepped back, almost forgetting that was a thing they agreed on.
"Well?" Chara smiled, crossing her arms, "What do you have to say?"
"It's all thanks to you, master," Frisk bowed.
"You're welcome," Chara said with a smug expression, "I love it when you call me master," Chara admitted.
"Maybe you should be a little more professional, Chara," Frisk added, giving her a straight look.
"Oh please, I'm still doing my job, aren't I. Don't give me that look," Chara looked over at the barracks, "Anyway, our battle isn't over. Time to give you a challenge," Chara looked over at him raising her hand.
"Can you impress your master?" She tilted her head in a smile and snapped her fingers, destroying the barrier around the Barrack's door.
Soon, more soldiers came storming forward, quickly surrounding them.
"You'll deal with all these soldiers, Frisk. Good luck," Chara said.
"You can't be serious," Frisk said, "I counted at least twelve of them..." Frisk said telepathically.
"You remember your words were back at the cabin?" Chara reminded.
Of course, she would hang that above his head at a time like this.
"Don't disappoint me now, Frisk," Chara said, then vanished into thin air...
Frisk stepped back from the group of soldiers, his hand losing a bit of the grip he once had.
"Can I handle this many?" Frisk thought, "Was I wrong?"
Chara was sitting with her legs dangling off the side of the battlements, overlooking the battle.
"They might be trash, but once they pile up like that in a group, they are a force to be reckoned with," Chara said, "Well, maybe not for me. But for him, how will you pull off a victory, Frisk? I'm curious to see,"
...
