I know there is one crossover shipping them both on AO3 but I decided on this oneshot with inspiration from stuff I read on Twitter and Tumblr about the two being total BFFs. I admit that when Encanto was in cinemas I wasn't interested but I ended up really liking it after checking it out on Disney Plus and while I still love Frozen all the same; I won't fault anyone who prefers this to Frozen and I will admit that it would be a hard choice if you cornered me and told me to choose between Let It Go and We Don't Talk About Bruno. Plus I really want to write Elsa X Isabela someday.

The amazing magical Madrigal family never thought about people coming through the windows to their Encanto village; certainly not a singular spiky haired teenage boy. However Sora seemed like a well meaning boy and he was welcomed as a guest in their little village.

What surprised the family and villagers that he was able to summon a magical giant key that seemed to act as a weapon; they were cautious but Mirabel and Antonio wanted to give him a fair chance. Plus the stories he relayed to them and the younger children of the village seemed far fetched; Luisa was weirded out to hear his claims of being friends with Hercules himself but then reassuring her that even Hercules the great hero that he was had his own doubts that he had to deal with.

Soon the family did warm up to him but to be safe; Abuela Alma did ask Bruno to make a vision to see the future with this mysterious boy but after making one he refused to share it but said that he could be trusted.

It was especially Mirabel who was warming up to him and getting along with him the best as they were being goofy dorks together. There were silent jokes when Mirabel wasn't around about how close they were getting and they could be falling in love; Casita seemed to agree as whenever Sora stopped by she would move the floors and tiles to get Mirabel to him as quickly as possible.

Dolores was all in favor of it and had heard a private conversation between them:

"All these years; trying to prove myself as belonging to the family even if I didn't get a Gift. Things are better now but the pressure of not being chosen for a Gift..."

"Would you believe that I wasn't chosen to wield this Keyblade? It was meant for my best friend but he made himself unavailable and at the time I was the best choice to deliver it but I have it made it mine and didn't care that it wasn't meant for me. My true magic power is the friends that I have made in my adventures!"

Isabela smiled at their interactions but couldn't help but feel overprotective of her youngest sister; despite how distant they had gotten since Mirabel's failed Gift Ceremony and how she thought that Mirabel was taking it for granted how little responsibility she had compared to the others and gotten in the way: she always loved her sister. She wasn't the best at showing it and was too busy trying to lift up to to their Abuela and the village's expectations, but she did love her. Mirabel had her fake smile upon seeing the beautiful flowers that Isabela would create for her birthday parties but she did want things to be perfect for her.

Then hearing about a planned get together between the two that was pretty much a first date; Isabela was listening to Luisa talk in disbelief about a little sparring contest between the two. Not only did Sora win but Luisa couldn't do much as Sora kept dodging and tiring her out, laughing and joking as he pointed out that she never was in an actual fight before.

"Got me thinking that I do need to learn how to fight; I mean what if somehow invaders got here..." Luisa said and Isabela sighed about Sora thinking about how annoyed she was with him. It wasn't that he was a jerk or annoying like Camilo could be but it was annoyingly hard to hate.

Super nice; helpful and a dork who went along great with Mirabela; how could she be the overprotective older sister when he gives her little reason to? He was super impressed with her flower making power and said that it looked cool and Isabela hated how he had charmed her in that moment.

"Hi Isabela; Luisa... Something wrong?" Sora asked as Isabela came towards him followed by Luisa with a big stone for something that Isabela planned.

"Oh nothing; just wanted to give you this to give to my sister on your little date... Sorry I mean little get together between friends." Isabela said putting on a smile as she then summoned a bunch of the most beautiful types of flowers that she had ever made; she was no longer worried about making things as pretty and perfect as could be but still this was to help Mirabel. "Just make sure that nothing happens because I would hate for something to happen to the both of you; especially since if something happened to Mirabel like a heartbreak then something would happen to you..." Isabela said putting on the smile and motioned for Luisa to break the stone threateningly and he looked weirded out.

Trying to to have him threatened by someone he beat in sparring; might not be the best idea but she hoped that he got the message.

Later Mirabel returned to the Casita looking annoyed holding the flowers as she yelled out "ISA!"

"Hola Mirabel; how was your day... Did Sora give those flowers to you? What a gentleman!" Isabela said with a smile and put on her best acting shocked upon seeing Mirabel's flowers.

"It went well but when Sora gave them to me I got suspicious as these flowers don't grow naturally near the village so I wonder where they came from?" Mirabel asked accusingly but Isabela played innocent with their parents smiling at them.

They did end up liking Sora as before Julieta could prepare some of her healing food to help Agustin after another accident; Sora used his key to cast something called Cure which actually healed him just as well.

Bruno passed by with a smile hoping that his hiding spot for his latest vision of the future wouldn't be found; with an older Sora in a suit and an older Mirabel in a dress...
