Chapter 3

The team gathered around the table for their 10:00 meeting only to find Strauss standing next to Hotch, both looking like somebody had drunk all the coffee in Quantico, leaving them none. "Take a seat agents." ordered a tense Strauss.

They all sat down, looking at Strauss and Hotch, waiting for them to speak.

" You will need to review every case and consult you worked with agent Prentiss. You need to assess how her direct input impacted the case's outcome. Her drinking has been brought to the attention of specific defence attorneys. Three convictions obtained from her direct input have been acquitted and released. Every single case she worked on is currently going to be reviewed, ready for any legal challenges. Could you think about how she acted? Did you observe her drink while on the case? Agent Jareau, I mainly need you to think about all the times you shared her hotel room and bed. Her drunken fall in her condo and subsequent admission to drinking heavily over the past few years have brought a large black cloud over the BAU. Legal expect an influx of wrongful convictions due to Prentiss's drinking. Except for Penelope's funeral, everything else is on the back burner." an angry Strauss told the group

Watching Strauss leave, Hotch sighed, " Prentiss has damaged this team and the entire unit. Everything we have done and will do will now be questioned harder by the defence. Prentiss and her drinking will always be held over our heads as if we all knew and just allowed her to get away with it." Their angry friend told them Hotch had been unable to control his emotions well since Haley and Jacks disappearance. " OPR has commenced an investigation into Prentiss's conduct. They are likely to contact you but have been told by Strauss they must wait until your case reviews are complete that order has come directly from the director." Hotch watched his entire team nod. He noticed the anger and distress behind Derek and JJ's eyes

"I know we all miss Garcia, especially with her funeral being so close. We need to concentrate on this tram smash. We all know she wouldn't want criminals to go free because our sadness got in the way. We will mourn our unicorn loving colleague properly." He tried lifting his team, finding it difficult being rock bottom himself. Remembering her Pink homemade paper stationery, she used it when applying for her job.

The team sat spread around the bullpen, reviewing past BAU cases.

"Agent Jareau," she answered her cell

JJ's scream shocked the entire team, all running to her Rossi knelt beside the distraught blonde as Morgan picked up her discarded cell phone

"Agent Morgan, who is this?" he asked abruptly, looking down at his distraught friend on the floor

"I am Doctor Frank Mosses, East Allegheny memorial. We have Agent Jennifer Jareau listed as Sandy Jareau's next of kin. She has been admitted to our burns unit after being rescued from her burning cellar. Her burns are not what we are worried about; Mrs Jareau inhaled a large quantity of smoke from the fire. We are anxious her lungs might be seriously damaged. We think it advisable for Jennifer to come home immediately." The doctor informed Morgan

"Thanks, Doc, give me your contact details."

Receiving all the details, Morgan ended the call. "Come on, Jayje, let's get you home." Derek softly told his friend

Rossi handed JJ a slip of paper " Your flight leaves in 45 minutes, Jennifer. I have booked you into a hotel as your family house is uninhabitable. Derek can get you to the airport in time for your flight. Don't you worry about anything but your mother." smiled Rossi, who always thought of the BAU girls as his daughters.

"Tell Garcia. I will..." JJ burst into tears, remembering her best friend was no longer here.

Derek Morgan lifted his blonde friend and half carried and walked with her toward the waiting FBI SUV.

The female FBI agent walked through the evidence store with the confidence of a seasoned agent. She was looking at her iPad for the location of her items of evidence. Stopping and pulling down a box, opening the lid, she pulled out the evidence bag containing a blood-stained blouse and checked the chain of evidence label for Jareau, Morgan and Hotchner. With the correct item of evidence, she carefully sliced the evidence bag just under the evidence tape with her scalpel. Adding a few foreign fibres to the bag, she carefully resealed the evidence bag and placed it back on the shelf. Repeating this several more times on different types of evidence.

She finally walked out with a brown paper bag containing a very bloody baseball bat. Carrying the bag containing the murder weapon, she arrived at the incinerator in the basement for secure document and evidence disposal. Handing over the correct paperwork with the proper registration on the secure FBI computer, the technician proceeds to place the bag in the incinerator and destroy the bag witnessed by the female FBI agent. Once everything had been signed, the agent smiled. " I have forwarded confirmation of destruction to agent Prentiss's email account. Will you hand this to her? This saves me going up to the sixth floor; smiled the technician hopefully?" Yeah, of course, the blonde smiled

Once out of sight, the FBI agent walked out of Quantico a much richer woman; revenge was very satisfying and much better served chilled. Prentiss had robbed her of her BAU place because of her money and name, not her actual talent. Taking everything from her was going to be very satisfying; she had a very extended stay in a mental health facility after the brunette had stolen her dream job.

"Evil Queen, all completed with no problems."

EJ

Emily had reached level 20 of the game; after watching Sandy's rescue, she had limped around her Condo in pain, not caring about the money she had saved everyone. The brunette profiler was very concerned about her blonde soul mate; her mother inhaled smoke from her house fire. Her Cylon took great pleasure in showing her Sandy Jareau in the burns unit on a ventilator. JJ was an extremely strong woman, but she needed the support of Garcia now she had tossed her away, with her best friend dead; Emily didn't know who she would go to for help next Reid or Morgan?

Looking up, Emily noticed JJ holding her mother's hand in the burns unit with Derek Morgan standing beside her.

"Thank you, Derek, for taking good care of her." smiled Emily for the first time in months.

EJ

What seemed like a routine request for a specific item of evidence for a retrial of a slam dunk case by the defence team had taken a serious Whoops. The bloody murder weapon from a serial Murder/rapist had disappeared from the very secure evidence store. Searching the computer system and speaking to the incinerator technician revealed that the baseball bat had been incinerated earlier. With the loss of the critical evidence, the remaining evidence was weak.

"Who ordered the destruction?" Asked the assistant director in charge of evidence storage.

"SSA Emily Prentiss, sir."

EJ

The Evil Queen turned and smiled at five people stood behind her " Payment has been made; are you sure we need to use it all?" she moaned

Abigail smiled at the hacker. " Yes, we used this to set her up nice and neatly. People have to be paid for services rendered. Not everyone in the world hates Emily Prentiss. You're being well paid for your services. Phoenix, don't get greedy. Keep your eye open things should kick off soon." Abigail reminded the strange but gifted hacker.

"Here we go, an arrest warrant for SSA Emily Prentiss has just been issued along with a search warrant for her home, Car and finances. Everything is in place no matter how much she pleads her innocence; the evidence will mount against her as they find it. As Elle suggested, I'm making them work for it like any routine investigation. That's why you're paying me so much. Most setups are discovered not because of the plants. It's because they find it too quickly altogether. Just enough to satisfy law enforcement. Never happens in the real world." smiled Phoenix, pleased with her work.

"How long, Elle?" Asked Cara Doherty, her northern Irish accent pronounced due to her excitement.

" No longer than an hour. The bureau has just had to release a known serial killer due to the corruption within the FBI. Once the extent of Prentiss's corruption is known, they will want it seen. They will not stand for their own breaking the law." Elle's trembling cheek started along with her arm tremor, a side-effect of her medication, and her over excitement

" Are all the guards paid off and all on board? I want Prentiss to spend all of her sentences with an eye in the back of her head. No protective segregation. I want her walking around in the general population. All fights to be stopped before she suffers too much damage. She has to suffer for Doyle killing my sister because he thought Lauren had killed Declan. Death is far too quick for that brunette whore." spat out Cara, her brother just nodding in agreement.

"FBI, oh and homeland are into her accounts; oh Yeah, look into that file." smirked a happy hacker. "They found her proper accounts proving she was almost broke. That's the 'motive', I do believe." laughed the hacker, not caring one bit about ruining the agent's life and sending her to prison.

The door opened to the cell of Haley and Jack Hotchner; Haley was ordered to lay face down on her bed. The five-year-old boy cringed in the corner of the room. He was petrified of the mean Irish man and the strange lady always wearing the hood with the peculiar head movements. Haley was blindfolded as usual but not moved. Jack Hotchner watched as the jerky lady, as he had nicknamed her in his head, removed her hood.

Elle Greenaway removed the prefilled syringes and injected the high doses of Rohypnol into Hailey. The date rape drug caused the victim to lose their short term memory; if you gave your intended victim very high doses, you could cause long term amnesia. No one wanted to hurt the woman. They just wanted to knock SSA Aaron Hotchner off his game enough he wouldn't interfere with their plan.

Jack wanted to run to his mother but remained seated in the corner, just looking around. The petrified boy was trying to remember things for his daddy. Jack was a brilliant boy for his age; Morgan and Emily used to joke he was a mini Hotch just waiting to grow into the FBI suit as it was a no brainer he was genetically guaranteed to follow in his father's footsteps. He tried remembering the ladies face.

Haley opened her eyes after around two hours had passed after being injected.

"Hello, what is your name? Sweetheart," asked Elle

Haley looked confused. " I can't remember. Do you know who I am?" she enquired

"Haley, your name is Haley, and this is Jack, your son." smiled Elle beckoning the frightened boy over to his mother

Haley looked Blankly at the approaching five-year-old unable to remember anything about him. Her maternal instinct to protect the child was still as strong as ever, pulling the distressed boy into her lap hugging him tightly

"Henry, I don't remember you. I am so sorry, but you will be safe with me. Do you believe me?" asked the unsure woman hugging Henry tight, protecting him just like his mother. Her maternal instincts were still strong.

"Henry, you need to help your mama and go with this man, and he will drop you off near a police station. You will be with your daddy soon. Does that sound good he hasn't seen you for months?" Elle smiled.

He escorted the two Hotchner's out of their prison cage. They had played their part in the plan time for their second act.

EJ

Hotch sat Reading through his case files with a heavy heart missing Haley and Jack terribly. Erin Strauss and Rossi burst into his office without knocking.

"Aaron. Haley and Jack have just walked into a police station unhurt. Haley has complete amnesia, but she is otherwise ok. Jack misses his daddy and is helping his Mama since she lost her memory.

Hotch was speechless, frozen to the spot, unable to believe what he was being told. Rossi and Strauss grabbed his stuff and started pushing him out his office door towards the BAU doors.

"Anderson, take SSA Hotchner to his wife and son. Use the lights and sirens. I think he has waited long enough not to be caught in DC traffic jams. Aaron, hug your son and kiss your wife. I don't want to see you for a week; screw the review. Prentiss will be in a holding cell within the hour she isn't going anywhere. Family comes first in my section be a father and husband and leave the FBI agent in Quantico." Strauss told her subordinate with a huge smile

Rossi watched his old friend leave the BAU floor with a smile.
