PERKY: cheerful and lively.
A/N: I didn't use redheadgleek's bonus word today. There was absolutely no way I could fit "ballot" into this story and have it make any sort of sense. Today's word comes to you from teddyshoney, and it's delightful!
"Who will be here tomorrow?" Kurt asked.
"The reason I was okay with Cooper coming is because of who he's connected with," Blaine explained. "Who, in all honesty, we're both connected with."
"That doesn't answer my question, though," Kurt said, feeling uneasy for some reason.
"We have a friend who is very good at what he does," Cooper explained. "Everyone, for his whole life—well, before he went to college, that is—thought he wouldn't amount to anything. The kid is smart, though. Insanely smart. And his wife… Same sort of story. Everyone thought she was this perky bimbo when she has a brilliant way of seeing and spinning things."
"Noah and Sugar are the ones who will be coming tomorrow," Blaine continued. "Noah ended up surprising everyone when he went to Harvard and became one of the best lawyers in the country. Sugar is a publicist, and both of them have helped us with things our whole lives."
"I've used them to do thorough background checks on people," Cooper said. "Not only is he a lawyer, he's always been into other things for the people he loves. He has done some private investigating on the side, and his customers are always satisfied."
"How can he help, though?" Kurt asked, still very confused.
"He can create documents for you," Blaine said. "It's not exactly legal, though this is a highly unusual situation. As far as I know, this has never happened before. Though, now that I say that, I honestly have no idea if it has. For all we know, there could be others out there in this world like you, traveling across time and space to meet who they were meant to."
"Back on topic," Cooper said, knowing that if any of them thought too much about this, they'd never get anything accomplished. "Because Noah is so amazing at what he does, he knows what needs to be done in order to keep you safe. He can create documents and add you to databases, making everything is 'above board' so to speak."
"And Sugar, she can create you a backstory like nobody else," Blaine continued. "She will come up with something believable and that won't cause any suspicions or anything."
"Okay," Kurt said. "If you guys trust them that much, I trust you."
Blaine leaned over and kissed Kurt on the cheek. "I wouldn't suggest to bring anyone into this situation I didn't trust with your life. You mean too much to me to jeopardize that."
Kurt smiled and leaned in to kiss Blaine on the lips, smiling into them as he heard Cooper sigh like a princess in a Disney movie when everything turns out perfectly in the end. Their kiss quickly broke, and Kurt started talking about something he'd been thinking about while the other two were talking.
"I might have an idea that is both plausible and fantastical in all the right ways."
"Let's hear it," Cooper said.
"What if my story was that… Never mind. That won't work," he said as he had more than just a fleeting thought about it.
"Tell us, please," Blaine asked. "Even if parts of it don't work, other parts might."
"That makes sense," Kurt agreed. "I was thinking… What if we said I'd lived my whole life on an island somewhere uncharted. My parents—which is the part that wouldn't work—got stranded there when their private plane or boat or whatever malfunctioned or crashed, and they had me. They used what supplies they had to sustain us for this long, too. We were happy living there, just the three of us, and then, when they passed away however long ago we'd want to say, I had nothing left to stay there for. I built a boat, gathered all the supplies I could, and then ended up on your beach the other night."
"Hmmm…" the boys said in unison, thinking about the parts of the story Kurt had concocted and if it would work or not.
"I think, between the two of them, Noah and Sugar could find something that might have happened like that," Cooper said. "We might have to change your age a little, depending on what they find."
"A boat would be easier, I think," Blaine added. "With planes, you have to submit itinerary and all of that, so that would warrant a search party, whereas with a boat, you don't have to. Then, we have to think about family and friends who sent search parties."
"Unless the couple we found didn't have family that cared about them, and they were somewhat hermits and didn't socialize with anyone but themselves?" Cooper suggested.
"Let's run this by Noah and Sugar and see what they think," Blaine said. "We can keep thinking about possibilities in the meantime, too."
All of them nodded and decided to make some food as the sun was getting ready to set. Cooper was an excellent cook, and treated them all to a wonderful meal. Wine was shared and laughs were had, the stress of the day fading like the sun across the horizon.
A/N: The recipe for the above picture can be found HERE. It looks AMAZING, and I'm not a fan of pineapple at all. Tomorrow, Noah and Sugar will be here, and then I think there will be two more chapters after that to wrap everything up!
