Spring 1999

It had been a few weeks since Terra Venture landed on Mirinoi. Karone got to know Kendrix and Maya's friend Shandra. But there still was not something right. She felt good about Kendrix choosing her to be the pink ranger. However, there was still so much more she wanted to do. Sure, her past was behind her, and her future was a clean start. One thing she wanted to do was become a counselor and help people with problems that they were going through. She of all people knew that were adults and children who have things happen to them. To do that she would have to leave her new friends and return to earth.

"What are you thinking about, Karone?" Maya asked when she took a seat next to Karone. "You've been really quiet lately."

"Listen, Maya," Karone started taking a deep breath. "Getting to be a power ranger with you and the others has meant the world to me. And I am glad I could fill in for Kendrix. But there is so much more I need to do. As the pink galaxy ranger, I was able to overcome my past. Since then, I have wanted to do things to help other people who were in the same shape as me. I want to become a counselor. To do that-"

"-you'll have to leave Mirinoi," Maya sighed as she put her arm around Karone.

"Yes," Karone answered. "I'm really going to miss you and the others a lot. But I will visit you."

"When do you plan on leaving?" Maya asked.

"Tomorrow," Karone stated. "I've got to get my stuff packed. I plan on going to Marnier Bay because it will be close to where my brother and Ashley are."

That night Karone spent several hours packing up all her stuff. Most of it was stuff that she had bought the day that she came to Terra Venture. Just like the day when she first came to Terra Venture, Kai cooked his famous chicken for Karone, and they had a goodbye feast. The following morning came very quickly. All her friends including Kendrix where there to see her off when she boarded the space shuttle to take her home to earth.

Finally, a day later, Karone arrived in Mariner Bay. She grabbed her bags and walked off the space shuttle. She had heard that she needed to go to the aqua base to meet Captain Mitchell. But there was only one problem. She did not ask what Captain Mitchell's first name was. For all she knew, there could be more than one. When she heard the word aqua base, that had to mean that it was under water. How was she going to find that?

She walked on to the street and a girl around her age was walking down the street. The girl had blonde shoulder length hair, wore a pink button-down shirt, a grey knee length skirt, and a pair of black leather boots. Maybe she could her.

"Excuse me," Karone said as she walked over to the girl. "My name is Karone, and I am looking for Captain Mitchell. Can you tell me where to find him?"

"That's my dad!" the girl answered with a smile. "We got a call from Leo Corbett, and he told us that you were coming to Marnier Bay. Dad sent me her to wait for you. And I am Dana."

"Nice to meet you," Karone smiled as she shook Dana's hand.

"I hear that you want to be a counselor," Dana smiled.

"Yes, I do," Karone answered.

"We are looking for someone do counseling at the Aqua base," Dana informed. "You are the just the type we are looking for."

"Really?" Karone gasped as her eyes lit up.

"Yes, really," Dana replied with a smile. "I will take you to the Aqua base. Before we go, would you like to go shopping."

"Yes, I would," Karone answered as she looked down at her leather pants and top. "I'd like to get a fresh style."

Karone walked out of the bathroom in a pair of rinsed wash jeans, a navy-blue short sleeve tee shirt with purple chest stripes, and a light purple three quarter sleeve button down shirt. Her hair was pulled back into a ponytail and a tear drop necklace replaced her sliver choker.

"So, how do I look?" Karone asked.

"I think it is perfect for you," Dana approved as she helped Karone carry her bags to big yellow jeep. "I will take you and you can meet my dad."
