Caput III. Spes Adventure
"I banish two Light monsters, Ultimalive: Lucky Kid and Dryad of Death: Utahime in order to summon the card I just drew! Master of hope in the darkest of times! Banish the dispair with your touch and strike down the ones who cause it to bring new hope to the universe! CHAOS SUMMON! Ultimalive: Lucky Hope!" Roared Makoto as he summoned the monster
A giant light erupted around Makoto with nothing but pure raw power coming from it, it was like Makoto's soul was the only thing powering the beam at that point. A being appeared behind Makoto and pulled something from its waist and aimed whatever it was toward Reiji soon after numerous shots were fired into his cards, rendering the monsters unable to move properly and his spells and pendulum zones destroyed. When the light dissipated Reiji looked upon the monster that stood by Makoto's side, It was a tall and menacing presence that stood tall over its Master. It was lean with a muscular psyche that stretched against the fabric of his tattered clothes. A pure silver armor rested on the monster's shoulders with golden accents that added details to the armor like a beautiful flower blooming with a green orb sitting in the center of it both of the flower pieces. Under the armor was a Black and Red trench coat with green flower detail on the right side of the coat. His face was pale and mostly covered by a mask that covered the lower half of his face and was all black, making the eyes and his brown hair stand out. His eyes were heliochromic, one Brown and one pure luminescent green that almost seemed like it was glowing, his hair was long and brown with a single strand covering his brown eye slightly. On his waist was a belt that held a golden revolver, and in his hands was a Naginata with a green and red orb along the blade. The monster was both Beautiful and deadly, and Reiji could see that Makoto had filled out the clothes he gave him quite nicely. Reiji started to walk over to Makoto as he took something from the pouch of his belt, it was a coat, A black coat with a floral lining, it was meant for Kyoko but he had a feeling the boy in front of him would get better use of it. Reiji draped the coat over Makoto's shoulders and walked back to the other side of the field where he then spoke, "That was for her, wear it proud boy… because you now are a duelist, not one ready to face me fully in combat but one ready to face anyone on the dueling grounds we stand on. NOW STRIKE ME WITH WHAT YOU THINK IS THE FINAL BLOW!"
"GLADLY! And I will wear it proud Akiba-Sensei! I ACTIVATE THE EFFECT OF LUCKY HOPE! Once per turn, I can add a field spell from deck to hand!"
'Wait? A field spell! But I!'
"I add the field spell, Snow Pallet- Edel Garden, and I set that card in the field zone!" said Makoto, "Its effect activates! And your monsters lose an additional 500 attack while it is on the field!"
The field turned from the rooftop into what looked like a snow-filled garden with more snow falling onto the field… but it was not snow, it was ash falling onto the field and the smell of fire filled the nostrils of those that we were witnessing the duel. Lucky hope knelt downward to cup at the only flower that was still living, it crumbled to dust the moment he touched it and looked toward the monsters before him. Lucky Hope looked back and nodded toward his master. Makoto nodded back before Makoto turned to speak to Reiji, "You might want to check your monsters stats."
Everyone who did not notice a change of stats looked down at their duel disks to check what was going on, and to their shock, something major occurred.

"What the hell!" shouted Reiji and the viewers of the duel
"There is a reason for that, Ultimalive: Lucky Hope. this monster shaves 500 attack points off of your monster while blanking their effects for the rest of the time it is on the field, spells are also destroyed each turn as well. You have lost Reiji, you could have waited on Equalizer's effect for now… but now you are on the back foot! I ATTACK! LUCKY HOPE, BLAZING HOPE BLADE!"
Lucky Hope Launched toward D/D/D Flame King Genghis with speeds that almost made it feel like it teleported to the fiendish monster and slashed it in half leaving only a shockwave in its wake with it careening toward Reiji almost sending him flying through the air.
"You take 1500 damage this turn, I set a card and end my turn!" said Makoto

"I Draw!" said Reiji, "I overlay Kali Yuga in order to XYZ summon D/D/D Deviser King Deus Machinex!"
A light erupted around Kali Yuga and the earth around it started to form into armor and the monster grew taller and more muscular until it the armor slammed into the monster as the light dissipated. The monster fell to the ground with a soft thud, its forms was tall and menacing and its armor lent to making its presence more fierce, its movements were more graceful and less rugged and it move as if the armor was an only a second thought. It stood tall in front of Lucky Hope.
"This is the downfall you failed to ignore. You are right, each turn your monster is going to be more powerful. But only after this turn. Our attacks are even. You are only one attack away from destruction." said Reiji, "I have one monster that is guaranteed an attack. NOW WISH YOUR DEFEAT WILL BE SWIFT! I ACTIVATE DARK CONTRACT WITH AVALON!"
"Dark Contract with Avalon?" asked Makoto
"Dark Contract with Avalon activates only when I have 1500 or fewer live points, I can target two cards- one on the opponent's side of the field and the other on mine- and if this card is destroyed both monsters targeted are destroyed and it inflicts burn damage to both players based on the attack of the monsters. And Guess what effect is mandatory." Reiji said with a smirk, "I activate D/D Necro Slime's effect! I fusion summon using D/D Necro Slime and D/D/D Flame King Genghis in order to summon D/D/D Oracle King d'Arc! I activate the effect of D/D/D Requiem! I gain life points based on the attack of the monster with the highest attack but all life point effects that require a certain amount of Live points still go off! I gain 2500 Life points and end my turn!

'Shit! How can I win this! The only card in my hand can't steal his monster! And because of Lucky Hopes effect, I can't destroy it without negating its effect but I have nothing to use for its destruction effect, have I lost?' thought Makoto, "I draw."

The field started to dissipate around both of them, the roof now coming into full form. Makoto stood still as his monster dissipated into digital beams, he stood tall… not even faltering at the fact that he lost, he smiled before chuckling, laughing even, all of the fear that Reiji saw in the boy, all of the loss of trust, all of it was gone… and in its place was a man who looked like he was about to pass out from a loss of breath after the breathless bout they had. And the smile on Makoto's face was enough to make Reiji crack a smile.
"HA! That was the most fun I had in weeks!" said Makoto, "I needed that so much!"
"Good job Makoto-Kun, I will inform you about what the verdict is about you being ready or not." said Reiji
"Thank you Reiji-Sensei!" said Makoto with a bow, "Thank you for the duel!"
Makoto ran off soon after to talk with Toko and Hagakure while Reiji looked on at them with happiness, he looked over to Kaito and note the look on his face. Reiji knew the look on his face without much of a second thought.
(Later- Kaito's office)
"Makoto is ready."
"You really think that?" asked Kaito
"Honestly, He is rough around the edges and still needs to learn much about the weight of the dueling, but he has grown from just one duel! You have seen what a novice Duelist is capable of when given guidance!" Said Reiji
"I am not about to send three children out into the world with nothing more than a dream and a deck strapped to their wrist," said Kaito
"One of them is older than both of them, take a guess at who it is Kaito!" said Reiji, "They are not children Makoto and Toko are close or in their 20s and Hagakure is almost 25 god damn years old. In terms of age, they are older than we were when we stopped Zark from ending the world!"
"But they have no experience, they have no future out there. I want them to stay and therefore they must," said Kaito
"Why? Because you have grown attached to them! We all have! I grew attached to Kyoko soon after I met her, Sora is attached to his world ender in terms of friendship, and Jaeger treats his world ender like a child to protect, they all know that to send them off the be in the pendulum dimension or the fusion dimension is a good idea, so why do you hesitate in doing so yourself?" asked Reiji
"Because they are not ready." said Kaito, "They will be safe here and if anything were to come in my way I will end them. Any questions Reiji?"
"A statement, Good Luck trying to beat me," said Reiji
KABOOM!
"The Hell was that!" shouted Kaito
"That sounded like it came from outside Toko's room!" said Reiji
"Shit, Don't tell me they are after them again!" said Kaito before bursting through the door and bashing through the door to Toko's room, only for both of them to see the group looking in shock at what they were seeing.
Two robotic beings, one in pure platinum and gold armor with a giant lance in hand. The other was a Giant Mech with black white and green armor, the mech itself was only just a little taller than a human with its form being mostly humanoid in nature, its body was lean but chunky- like the armor was restrictive enough to prevent it from fighting at its full potential- with its torso having what looked like a face with a snarling maw at first sight, but in reality was nothing more than a hatch for the pilot inside to enter and exit from with the chest forming a look that made the mech seem like it was glaring at anyone around it. Its face however was a different case with it snarling at the golden mech in front of it while looking at with a piercing glare despite its face looking almost feminine in nature, its faceplate was framed by a crown of brown sheets of metal forming hair with a golden crescent on its forehead. Currently in its hands was a silver revolver with a dragon's head. Behind the black and white mecha was a Human, likely male, wearing a black biker suit motioning for the world ender trio to hop on a D-Wheel. The trio did just that, forming over and around the D-Wheel until it roared its engine and fellow off into the sunset with the golden mecha knight flying behind it with two other D-Wheels following close behind.
"I have to go after them." said Reiji, "We will discuss everything later!"
Reiji ran off in a desperate attempt to catch up with the world ender trio while Kaito stood where the wall was. Kaito reached into his pocket and grabbed something. He put it to his mouth and spoke, "Sora, please destroy the dimensional transporter. My children must stay in this dimension.
