LET'S HAVE SOME FUN
AN: just a one shot to cure some boredom theirs and mine. I don't own the rights to any characters in this. Wrote this on my phone and quickly so I apologized for any errors.
The family was hanging out at the farmhouse and the kids were obviously bored. Elizabeth and Henry were in their office, both pretending to work but neither getting very much accomplished. Elizabeth threw the briefing book aside that was not holding her attention. Henry looked up from a student's paper he was grading and smirked at her. "Bored with solving world matters are you?" he asked. "Bored is not the word for it, this briefing is as dry as the desert." she said as she rolled her eyes.
Henry rose from his chair, walked to her and pulled her from her chair. "I know of an activity that will solve your boredom," as he kissed the spot behind her ear that was sure to get her fired up. Elizabeth giggled and placed her arms around him, "the kids are right outside and you can't be quiet. We need to come up with a family activity to cure everyone's obvious boredom," she said as she walked away from him.
Elizabeth walked into the living room observing all the kids laying around trying to get better signals on their phones. She shook her head and asked the kids "if anyone wanted to go for a ride?" They all looked at her and were contemplating her question. Stevie shook her head yes, Allison shrugged her shoulders indicating indifference and Jason was shaking his head no. Henry entered and told them all to go change into riding gear, he was pulling the (Dad card) and they were all going to go riding since it was a beautiful early summer day outside.
The kids headed to their rooms with some grumbling from the younger two. They really didn't mind riding, they just hated being forced into doing it.
They all made their way to the barn and had their horses saddled. Elizabeth turned to all of them and said, "Last one to the top of the hill has to brush down all the horses when we are done", as she bolted through the open gate. She turned back to look at them and they were all just staring at her with their mouths gaped open.
They figured out that Mom was serious and took off after her. Stevie being the more experienced rider and as competitive as her mom, was determined not to lose. She kicked Prancer into a hard galop to try and catch her. Jason, the least experienced but still quite competitive, was next out of the barn. Henry took off also and was gaining on Jason. Allison was just interested in a leisurely ride and not really wanting to get involved in a race.
Stevie was quickly gaining on Elizabeth. She turned back and saw Stevie at a dead run and kicked Buttercup's flanks urging him to go faster. Stevie was on Prancer, a younger horse and caught up to her mom. She took her hat off and slapped Buttercup's flanks, which caused him to almost throw Elizabeth off over his head as he came to a dead stop. Buttercup spun and Elizabeth ended up on her butt on the ground with grass in her hair.
Henry rode up to her and dismounted Flyboy (his horse named for obvious reasons) to make sure she wasn't hurt. She flopped back and was laying on the ground laughing when he got to her. "Are you hurt?" he asked. She shook her head no. She reached up her hand and he pulled her from the ground, picking grass from her hair and clothes. They both remounted their horses and took off up the hill.
Together they rode as hard as they could to reach the top before Stevie. They were gaining on her and Elizabeth decided to cut Stevie off and cause Prancer to veer to the right towards the treeline. Jason saw what his mother was doing and he took the opportunity to race past his dad and pull ahead.
Henry raced up behind Jason, and used his water bottle to wet Jason down. This slowed him down and Henry was able to get into the lead.
Allison was obviously in her own world and had not even attempted to race with the others.
Elizabeth was right on Henry's tail and gaining fast. There was only about 50 yards to the top and she was determined to win. "If you beat me, no sex for a month," she shouted to him. Henry whipped around and looked back at her to see if she was serious. This gave Elizabeth the opening she needed. She raced by him, as she passed him he looked at her with his mouth open and his eyes blown wide. He thought about her comment for a second, before he urged Flyboy to go faster.
Elizabeth reached the top, dismounted and was dancing around with her arms in the victory stance when Henry reached her. He dismounted and walked over to her, circling her waist with his arms. "You will pay for that stunt, Mrs. McCord," he said with a devilish smile on his face.
Jason was the next to the top and then Stevie. Allison eventually crested the hill.
They had packed a picnic basket and blankets to enjoy after their ride. Henry and Elizabeth were setting everything out as the kids joined them.
Jason was not happy with the water trick his dad pulled on him, so he proceeded to squirt Henry with his water. This started a water fight, which progressed to a food fight. Henry was whipping grapes at everyone. Elizabeth was using Jason as a shield and he was throwing chunks of cheese at Henry in retaliation. Everyone agreed to a truce and started cleaning up the mess. They were all seated on the blanket just enjoying the afternoon sun.
Elizabeth stood and reached her hand out to Henry. He stood and intertwined their fingers. They slowly strolled away from the kids and stopped a few yards away to just admire the view. Henry was standing behind her with his arms wrapped around her and she had her arms wrapped around his.
"This is such a beautiful view." she said. "Yes it is and so are you," Henry replied looking around at her. They stood wrapped up together for a few more minutes before turning back towards the kids.
"Let's head back to the barn, so Ali can start brushing down the horses," Elizabeth proclaimed to the group. This brought Ali whipping her head around. "I never agreed to this bet and I shouldn't have to do everyone's work." "Okay, everyone takes care of their own horse," Henry announced. This elicited groans from everyone, except Ali.
They lazily rode back to the barn and started brushing down the horses and cleaning up the tack. Elizabeth decided that since it was so warm she would wash down Buttercup. She walked him over to the wet stall and turned the water on. Jason observed the unattended hose and snatched it up and sprayed her down. Soaking her from head to toe. Elizabeth looked at him as she spit and sputtered the water running down her hair and face. The others could not resist and broke down laughing at the state of Elizabeth and the utter disbelief shocked look on her face.
Henry, not one to sit aside and let someone pick on her, crimped the hose shutting off the water and snatched it from Jason's hand. Once he retained control he immediately aimed it at Jason and soaked him down. Elizabeth was bent over laughing at the look of shock on Jason's face. Stevie and Ali, seeing where this might head, immediately ran out of the barn to keep from getting wet also.
Jason stomped out of the barn, mad at his dad for always taking up for his mom. Elizabeth walked over and turned the water off. Henry rolled the hose up and shut Buttercup's stall door where he had retreated once the water fight began. Elizabeth was walking out of the tack room with a towel, trying to dry off some of the dripping water. Henry, still amused and smirking at her wet state, walked up to her and said, "I so got him back for you." "You are always my hero and quick to come to my rescue, that is why I love you Dr. McCord," she told him as she walked towards him. He quickly put his hands up to keep her from wrapping her arms around him and getting him wet too. She laughed and backed up.
She raised her eyes to the ladder leading to the loft and Henry followed her eyes and immediately caught on to her thinking. Elizabeth climbed the ladder to the loft and walked over and opened the bay doors. Henry climbed up behind her and pulled a blanket off the rack and spread it out in front of the doors.
They settled down on the blanket in front of the doors, just enjoying the warm sun and the quiet. Elizabeth took off her button down shirt to let it dry and turned toward Henry. She immediately saw his expression change to that of lust. She walked towards him unsnapping her bra and tossed it on a hay bale. He walked towards her and reached for the button on her jeans. She looked up at him with a seductive look in her eyes and reached for the buttons of his shirt. Soon his shirt was on the floor and he was trying to pull her wet jeans down. This proved to be a task and it took them both to get them off. She finally stepped out of them after she kicked her boots off. Henry sat down on a hay bale and pulled his boots and jeans off. They immediately curled themselves around each other. Henry took her hand and laid her down on the blanket.
One thing led to the other and soon they were joined as one. They both stopped and raised their heads when they heard Stevie calling for them from the barn below. "Yes Stevie," Elizabeth answered. "We are ready for dinner, are y'all coming?" "Not yet" Henry answered. Elizabeth swatted him and said, "We will be down in a few minutes." Stevie realizing what she had interrupted immediately turned red and raced out of the barn.
Henry helped Elizabeth to her feet and they walked over to put their clothes back on. "They are grown and still manage to interrupt us," Henry said. "At least she didn't climb up here, that would have scarred her for life," she said laughing. Eventually with a lot of tugging and help from Henry, Elizabeth was able to get her still damp clothes back on.
They climbed down from the loft and headed for the house. "Well we cured everyone's boredom for a while," she said. Henry looked at her and raised his eyebrows, "Not mine." "To be continued later," she told him. Laughing they walked into the house and joined the kids for dinner.
