Hershel's Farm

Wrex is sitting in his spot still carving up his spear till he finished carving and took a look at it. He was able to shape up one end like a spear and the other end like a club. Though being subtle isn't Wrex's specialty, it'll help kill these creatures quietly and not attract attention. Wrex stared over at Lee and Clementine sleeping on their bags and boy for once he felt terrible about their situation. From what he heard Lee had family in Macon but who knows what has happened to them, while Clementine might not ever see her parents again but Wrex gave his word to her and it is something he never goes back on.

Wrex heard footsteps approach him as he turned to see Hershel approaching him and asked him, "You didn't get any sleep?"

Wrex didn't know if he could trust this human, even if he did let them stay a night in his barn. So he answered to him with the way he would answer Shepard when they first got paired together, "No."

Hershel stared at Wrex in surprise before asking again, "Don't you ever sleep?"

"No," answered Wrex with the same tone.

Hershel crossed his arms at Wrex and glared at him as he knew by that tone Wrex doesn't trust him but Hershel continues by asking, "Well since your up I could use some help chopping some wood for the fire place...do you mind giving me a hand?"

Wrex gave the same glare back but since this human let them stay he decided to return the favor so he gave his answer by saying, "Sure."

Wrex stood up as Hershel showed him the wood cutting stump where Hershel picks up an axe and gives it to Wrex as he says to him, "I'll put a log on this stump and you just chop it in half with that axe."

Wrex nodded his head in acknowledgement as Hershel set a log on the stump and Wrex chopped it in half. They continued on for a bit until Hershel asked, "So...the world turns to hell and Aliens decide to land on Earth now?"

Wrex glared at Hershel as he answered, "I don't have a ship."

"How did you get here then?" asked Hershel

"I don't know," answered Wrex truthfully in his usual tone.

"So your stuck here then?"

"Yeah."

Hershel put down a log as he crossed his arms at Wrex and said to him, "Look I can tell you don't trust me but I do know you trust that man Lee and that little girl. I just wanna know if you can keep her safe."

Wrex glared at him before asking, "what do you mean old man?"

Hershel rolled his eyes at Wrex's old man comment as he said back, "Look you don't have to be aggressive with me son...I'm just looking out for that little girl's well being. So what if that girl's parents are gone...better yet what if Lee isn't around to protect her. Are you gonna do the same for her?"

Wrex looked back at the barn and thought about what Hershel said, he brought up a very good point. If something were to happen to Lee...would he be able to look after Clementine. Wrex turned to Hershel and answered confidently, "Yes."

Hershel nodded his head before saying to Wrex, "Well just for her sake just try to trust some people if you can help it...you will need people sometimes. Anyways I'm gonna go clean up the horse's stables, you should probably go check on your friends."

Hershel walked off as Wrex put the axe down and headed back towards the house to see Lee and Clementine talking to a man with a woman and a kid. Wrex approaches them as the woman grabs the kid in fright and the man says out loud, "what the hell is that!?"

Wrex crossed his arms and glared at the humans before Lee said to them, "It's okay, this is Wrex he's my friend I told you about."

The two humans then relaxed a bit as the kid says in amazement, "Cool an Alien! This is awesome!"

The man then approached Wrex and said to him, "I'm sorry about that...it's not everyday an alien finally decides to come to Earth. The name's Kenny and this is my wife Kat and my boy duck Duck."

Wrex changed his demeanor towards the man as he gave him a nod before looking at Clementine as she said to him, "Did you finish your spear Wrex?"

Wrex gave Clementine a small smile as he answered her, "I sure did...needs a bit more work but after a few improvements it'll be great."

Shawn approached them then as he says, "Great your all up...I could use some help with these fences if possible."

"Sure, we would be happy to help," said Lee.

"I wanna help too!" yelled out Duck in excitement.

"Sure, you can be my foreman," said Shawn.

"Lee can I speak to you in the stables!" yelled out Hershel.

"Go on ahead Lee, I'll keep Clementine with me," said Kat as Lee smiled and went over to Hershel.

Wrex looked at Kenny as Kenny said to him, "So...you got a ship?"

Wrex glared at Kenny as he answered, "No."

"Well that sucks...sure could have used it. So what kind of Alien are you?" asked Kenny curiously.

"the kind that eats people like you," answered Wrex intimidatingly.

Kenny looked on shocked and scared until Wrex let out a belly laugh and gave him a pat on the back as he said to him, "I'm just kidding Kenny...I'm a Krogan."

"What's a Krogan?" asked Clementine curiously as she stood next to Wrex.

Wrex crouched down in front of Clementine as he answered, "A warrior race that fights for honor and glory. Sometimes were viewed as the menace of the galaxy from where I'm from."

Clementine looked at Wrex with a smile as she said to him, "I don't see you as a menace Wrex?"

Wrex couldn't help smiling at this girl's innocence until a scream could be heard. Wrex and Kenny show up to see Lee trying to pull Shawn from underneath a tractor's wheel as Ducks is on the tractor being grabbed on by creatures. Wrex immediately runs over to help Lee but Shawn keeps yelling out in pain as he says, "Get this thing off of me!"

Kenny then runs over and rescues Duck as Shawn yells out, "Kenny! Help Lee and Wrex!"

Kenny stares at them in fright as he runs off with Duck as Shawn yells out, "Kenny!"

"Forget him, come on Lee let's get this tractor off of him!" yelled out Wrex.

Wrex and Lee were able to get the tractor off of Shawn but they were to late as the two creatures broke the fence and started biting on Shawn to Wrex, Lee, and Clementine's fright. Hershel approached them with a gun and saw what was happening with Shawn as he shot the creatures and approached Shawn as Shawn says to his dad, "I'm okay Pop."

"It's gonna be alright I'm gonna fix you up and you'll be okay," said an emotional Hershel.

"they almost got me...but Lee and Wrex tried to save me," said Shawn as he looked up to them as Hershel looked back at them and said to his son, "I know they did son."

Shawn then passed away as Hershel set his head against his son's head as Kenny and his family approach them as Hershel grew angry and lashed out, "Get out...Get the fuck out of here!"

"I'm sorry..." was all Kenny could say before Hershel interrupted by saying, "Sorry!? Your boy is still alive while mine is dead! You two tried to help him...but this piece of shit let him die!"

"It's my fault Hershel...I wasn't strong enough to save him. I'm sorry," said Lee remorsefully.

"Well if you and your friend there want to protect this little girl you need all the strength you can get and not have cowards as friends! Just get out and never fucking come back!" lashed out Hershel.

Everyone then looked at each other as they then headed out towards Kenny's truck to leave Hershel's farm and never come back.

a few hours later...Macon

The truck shows up in the town of Macon as it ran out of gas as Kenny says, "Well this as far as we go."

"It's far enough," said Lee as he stepped out of the truck.

Wrex hopped out the back of the truck as he looked around to see the carnage of this town as he had a bad feeling about this town. The group wandered through town a bit as they see people over at the corner as Kenny yells out, "Hey buddy! we can use some help!"

To the shock of the group, it was those creatures as they started approaching them as well as more from behind. Wrex took out his spear as he heard a yell to see a creature on top of duck as he stabbed the creature in the head. Kat picked up duck and saw more coming till a gunshot killed a few. They turn to see a woman with a pistol shooting at the creatures as she yells out, "come on this way!"

The group follows the woman to a pharmacy as an asian man let's them in but looks at Wrex in shock as Wrex looked at the human back and then walked in as the man locked the gate.

As they walked in, a woman approaches them as she lashes out, "Dammit Carly, we can't take risks like this!"

"And we can't just let people die either!" argued the woman named Carly.

"When I say 'that door stays shut no matter what" I fucking MEAN it. We don't know who these people are...especially that thing; they could be dangerous," argued back the woman.

"Worse, they could have led them right to us," agreed the older man with them.

"Where's your humanity!?" lashed out Carly.

"We have kids with us, " said Lee with a plead like voice.

"I see one little girl," glared the man as Wrex glared back at him.

Clementine looked up at Lee as he says to her, "what is it?"

"I...I got to pee," answered Clementine.

"In a minute Clem," said Lee.

"They got kids, Lilly," argued the asian man.

"Those things outside don't care," argued Lilly coldly.

"Maybe you should go join them then...you'll have something in common!" yelled out Kenny.

"Goddammit Lilly, you have to control these people!" yelled out the older man.

"She's the leader here...but it looks like she's losing control of her people," commented Wrex to Lee.

"Holy shit...son of bitch, one of them was bitten!" yelled out the older man as he saw Kat attending a covered in blood Duck.

"He wasn't bitten," argued Lee.

"The hell he isn't...we have to end this now," said the older man as he started approaching Duck and Kat.

"Over my dead body," said Kenny as he stood in front of the older man.

"We'll make one hole," glared the older man.

"No I'm cleaning him up...there's no bite! He's fine!" yelled out Kat.

"Don't you fucking people get it!? We already seen this happen. We let someone with a bite stay and we all end up bitten," said the older man aggressively.

"Shut up," said Kenny aggressively as well.

"We gotta throw him out or smash his head in with something," suggested the older man.

Wrex moved Kenny aside as he got in the older man's face and said, "I don't think so bub."

Little did they know Clementine was sneaking over to the restroom as the group continued their argument as the older man says, "Step aside freak or I'll bury you too."

"We'll see about that, bitch," glared Wrex as he prepared to fight.

"Wrex relax...we don't have to fight these people," reasoned Lee.

"why not?" asked Wrex.

The older man then threw a sucker punch at Wrex as Wrex ate the punch and glared at the older man as the man was shocked and took a step back as Wrex reared his head back and headbutted the older man down as it busted his nose.

"Dad!" yelled out Lilly as she checked on him.

"Know your place human...or those creatures are the least of your worries," said Wrex coldly.

Suddenly a scream could be heard as everyone sees a creature coming from the restroom trying to grab Clementine as both Lee and Wrex yelled out, "Clementine!"

Lee tried to run towards them but slipped and fell as Wrex pulled out his spear and ran towards them as he used the club to knock the creature down and then stabbed it in the head with it's spear end.

Wrex yanked the spear out as he turned to see Clementine in tears of fright as she ran up to him and hugged him crying out loud as he hugged her in comfort.

Suddenly a scratching noise could be heard as it sounded like the creatures attempting to come in. Everyone takes cover until gunshots could be heard as the scratch noises could be heard as the older man says, "We almost dies because of that little girl's screams...ah!"

"Dad!" yelled out Lilly as the older man collapsed.

"What's wrong with him?" asked Lee.

"He has a heart condition...he needs his pills but their locked in the pharmacy," answered Lilly before continuing, "Please can you help us get them?"

"Don't worry we'll get them...what's you name?" asked Kenny.

"It's Lilly and this is my dad Larry."

"Don't worry Lilly we'll get those pills," assured Kenny.

"I'm starting to think this pharmacy isn't going to be a permanent solution," said the asian man.

"Your right...were gonna need some fuel if were gonna drive out. What's you name kid?" asked Wrex.

"It's glen," answered Glen.

"Okay glen, you know where we can get some?" asked Wrex.

"I do...but we have to go now," answered Glen.

"Okay we can go together, you over there you keep a look out," commanded Wrex as his warlord instinct started kicking in for this situation.

"It's Doug and you got it," acknowledge Doug.

"Mine's Carley," said Carley as she stood next to Doug.

"Okay Carley, you stand by and keep watch for these creatures...your a good shot so we'll need you," commanded Wrex again.

"You got it Boss," nodded Carley

"Lee, see if you can get those pills for Larry over there...I'll be right back with the fuel," said Wrex.

Lee nodded his head as he said, "Okay, be careful Wrex."

Wrex nodded his head as he and Glen were fixing to head out as Clementine looked on as Wrex turned and noticed her and then headed out with Glen to get some fuel.
