An abandoned motel

Wrex is approaching the abandoned motel, after sending Glenn up ahead to scout it out, until he heard a noise from behind and turned with his spear at the ready only to see Carley with her hands raised saying, "Wait its me!"

"What are you doing here Carley?" asked Wrex as he put away his spear.

"I figured you and Glenn could use some backup, speaking of which where is Glenn?" asked Carley as she approached Wrex.

"Just up ahead. I went on ahead and had him scout out and see if he could find any fuel, we should probably keep moving and meet up with him," answered Wrex as he started heading towards the motel.

Carley followed behind as well but began to be very curious with this strange creature's past, like she is with Lee, so she decided to ask him, "So Wrex, you seem to be a capable leader...are you some kind of ruler back on your planet?"

Wrex looked back a bit as he answered in his usual tone, "something like that."

"I don't mean to pry you with questions...but as a reporter and having an alien on Earth while all this is going on...this is the biggest story of the..."

"Get down!" quietly exclaimed Wrex as one of those creatures popped out from behind the wall as Wrex and Carley hid behind it on the other side.

The creature walked away as Wrex peeked out a bit to see more creatures and two of them upstairs at the motel banging on a door. He didn't see Glenn however as Carley noticed too and commented, "Oh God, I hope Glenn is okay."

A banging noise could be heard coming from a nearby Ice box as Wrex and Carley prepared themselves for whatever is coming out. The doors sprang open to see it was Glenn as he smiled and said, "Thank god, it's you two."

Glenn sprang out of the box and crouched next to them as Carley says, "Jesus Glenn., you scared the shit out of us."

"Did you find any fuel?" asked Wrex in his calm demeanor.

"Yeah I did," answered Glenn as he pointed towards the two gas containers inside the back end of a pick up truck.

"Now can we get out of here before any of those things notice us," said Carley who was ready to get the hell out of there and who would blame her.

"Not yet. There's a survivor trapped up there," said Glenn as Wrex and Carley looked up towards the same motel door that two of those creatures are banging on.

"No way, we gotta go. Now!" argued Carley as she really wanted to get out of the motel.

"Listen, I was out here looking for gas, and then, up there in the corner room, I heard crying coming from inside," pleaded Glenn as he wanted them to listen to what he had to say.

"Who is it?" asked Wrex.

"It's a girl. We talked and she got frightened. I was trying to get in and help her and she started yelling and saying I was bitten. I tried to convince her I wasn't and that's when all these guys came out of the forest. A couple almost got me and I ended up hiding in the ice machine," answered Glenn.

"Lucky you; now let's go!" exclaimed a worried Carley.

"We can't just leave her," said Glenn as he looked to Wrex to see what he will say.

Wrex looked at Glenn as he can tell the human was pleading to him to make this decision and truth be told he would normally see this as a lost cause to help this girl, but due to their current circumstances he wouldn't want anyone to go through this type of madness. Wrex made his decision and said, "No we won't, we'll go rescue this girl."

"What, you guys are suicidal. Over a girl!?" asked a shocked Carley.

"Were gonna save her with...or without you," argued a now determined Glenn after getting Wrex's support.

"Think about if it was you? Would you want us to come rescue you?" asked Wrex in his more serious tone now.

Carley thought about what they said for a second and finally caved in by saying, "fine. Let's go save Glenn's damsel in distress."

Glenn and Carley were about to get up until Wrex stopped them and said, "You two wait here...I'll deal with them."

"Are you sure...going out there alone is suicide," commented Glenn with a tone of surprise.

"We have to do this quietly, plus I have more battle experience than the both of you...so stay put," commanded Wrex as all Glenn and Carley could do was nod.

Wrex then took out his spear as he turned it to his club end and banged it on a car hood as the creatures turned towards him screeching at him. One started getting near him as he swung the club end right on the head and destroyed it's head. Another was approaching from behind but Wrex was quick enough to pierce it through the skull with the spear end. Wrex grabbed another approaching creature right on it's forehead and with all his strength crushed it's skull. Wrex then saw a creature crawling towards him as he took the club end and swung it upwards destroying it's skull.

Wrex looked over at the creature stuck in between a car and the motel's wall as he pierced it in the skull. Carley and Glenn then approached Wrex to see the carnage he left behind as Glenn commented, "Holy shit...your like a walking tank."

"Glad we have you in our group," complimented Carley.

"There's still two more up by the door...guess they really want this girl. You two stay here in case this goes sideways," commanded Wrex as he headed up the stairs.

Wrex saw the two creatures as they soon noticed him and started coming towards him to which Wrex pierced one through the skull and quickly pulled it out and swung the club end crushing the other one's skull.

Wrex didn't notice Carley and Glenn following behind him as Glenn complimented Wrex by saying, "Rad."

Wrex looked at the door as he tried to peek inside it's peephole and then bang on the door saying, "Hello, It's okay to come out we'll help you."

"Please just go away!" yelled out the girl inside the room.

"Let's go guys," said Carley who just wanted to get the hell out of there.

"Wait a second. Listen, if you open up, we can take you somewhere safer. We've got a group in town..."

Wrex wasn't able to finish his sentence as the girl interrupted lashing out, "No no no! Please no..."

"She's in trouble," commented Glenn.

"Were coming in...stay away from the door," said Wrex as he was readying himself to barge in the door.

"No wait! I'm coming out," said the girl with a tone of defeat.

The door then opens as the girl comes out only to look very sick with a bite wound on her abdomen as Glenn says, "We need to get you help."

"No, it's to late for that," said the girl at the point of tears coming out of her eyes.

"Guys, she's been bitten," said Carley as she noticed the bite.

"I told you. I said go away, I'm bit, but you wouldn't just leave," said the girl with her defeated tone.

"Ma'am let's just calm down, you could be fine," said Wrex as he actually tried calming someone down for once.

"No it won't be fine! My boyfriend got bit and became one of them! You get sick and then you die and become one of them! Killing anything that gets in your way! I don't want that...it's not Christian! Please just please go!" lashed out the sick girl.

Before anything could happen the girl noticed Carley's gun as she said, "You have a gun?"

"Yeah," answered Carley in an awkward tone as she didn't like where this was going.

"Can I borrow it?" asked the sick girl with a small smile on her face.

"Borrow it for what?" asked Carley in a worried tone.

"Give it to me, I can just end this and then-then there's no problem. Please I don't want to be one of them! their...their...Satanic. Please I know your not human...your-your an angel sent by god to help rapture us to Heaven. Please let this happen so I can be at peace," pleaded the girl to wrex.

Wrex looked at the girl and could tell she really didn't want to be one of those creatures and he was very familiar about this human religion as Shepard himself was also considered a Christian. So out of respect for her beliefs he gave her his answer and told Carley, "Give it to her."

"What? You can't be serious?" asked a shocked Carley.

""Do it," commanded Wrex.

"No!" argued Carley.

"there's no time for an argument! Just give this girl her peace!" lashed out Wrex.

Carley looked at Wrex in shock and then back at the girl as she nodded and gave the girl her gun as she grabbed it and said, "thank you so much. I know how terrible this must be."

"We can't watch this. Let's go," said Glenn as he wanted to dip out.

"We can't go yet," said Carley now a bit more serious.

"why not!?" asked a shocked Glenn.

"Because somebody needs to pick up the gun. We can't leave it. you two go on ahead and take the fuel back to the Pharmacy I'll meet you there," commanded Wrex as Glenn and Carley nodded and headed back towards the Pharmacy.

Wrex looked at the girl as she clutched Wrex's arm with her left hand as she said to him, "I'll be sure to tell God that you saved my life and many more to come."

With that she pulled the gun up with her right hand and shot herself in the head killing herself instantly as Wrex let out a deep sigh. Wrex then picked up the gun as well as leaning over to close the girls eyes as he headed back towards the Pharmacy only to notice Glenn and Carley in a car as Wrex got in and they drove off.

a few mins later...

Wrex, Carley, and Glenn arrive at the Pharmacy as Lee greets them as he asks them, "Everything turned out alright?"

"Yeah. We had some close calls, but Glenn is fine and well...yeah...we're okay," answered Wrex.

"I got a few cans of gas for your pick up in the backseat of my car," added Glenn.

"Good to hear, everything's been quiet here. I was able to grab the Pharmacy keys with Doug's help so now we just gotta get those pills and we can head out of here...Wrex you mind coming with me?" asked Lee.

"Sure," answered Wrex in his usual demeanor.

"Can I come too?" asked Clementine with a huge smile on her face.

"Of course you can Sweet pea, let's go," answered Lee as the three started heading towards the pharmacy side.

Once inside Wrex could see this must be where some survivors were trying to stay as there as a bed set up and lots of blood but Wrex brushed that off as he saw Clementine's finger bandaged as he asks, "what did you do to your finger?"

"I hurt it helping Lee move a desk...it hurt a lot," answered Clementine.

"Well I'm glad to see a little finger injury can bring you down...maybe you have one-third Krogan in you," joked Wrex with a small smile on his face.

Clementine let out a small laugh as she jokingly said back, "Maybe I'll grow up to be you someday."

Wrex couldn't help but laugh a bit at Clementine's sense of humor but also he admired the fact she had such a strong will. Her parents are gone and the her world is falling apart but yet she still keeps her spirit strong no matter what.

"Hey Wrex, I need to speak to you," said Lee as he approached Wrex.

"What is it Lee?" asked Wrex.

"I thought I tell you something...something I should have told you a while ago," answered Lee in a worried tone.

Wrex looked at Lee in a confused look until he realized what he meant and said it then, "You were actually arrested for attempted murder and was in the back of a police car heading out of Atlanta."

Lee looked shocked at Wrex, how did he know about all that? Did someone tell him? He had to know as he asked, "How did you know?"

Wrex wrapped his arms together as he answered, "I could smell it on you Lee...but don't worry your secret is safe with me as far as I'm concerned. Were all not saints in this universe as far as I know. There was a girl at the motel but she was bitten and her way of finding peace was putting a bullet in her head."

"Jesus," said a shocked Lee as Clementine covered her mouth in shock at what she heard.

"She thought I was an angel from God, but I'm nowhere near it," finished Wrex as Lee out his hand on Wrex's shoulder and said, "Well to me your a good person Wrex...and someone I consider a friend."

Lee gave Wrex a smile as Wrex couldn't help but smile back. He only had one true human friend but he died to save everyone in his universe, now he has another and this time Wrex plans on saving his life even if it's to risk his own life.

"We should get those pills now Wrex, thank you for understanding," said Lee as he started heading towards the pharmacy.

Wrex looked on as Clementine asked, "Wrex...do you have a kid back at you home?"

Wrex crouched down in front of her as he answered, "Yeah I do. He's about your age and has quite a temper."

Clementine smiled and said to Wrex, "that's good...I can tell you were already a great daddy."

Wrex smiled at Clementine and said to her, "thanks Clementine."

Little did they know that by opening the Pharmacy, they let out a alarm as all the creatures can hear it and started heading towards the Pharmacy. Everyone started panicking as Kenny said, "I'm gonna get the truck pulled around back!"

"Okay good, in the meantime Kat you take Duck into the office and barricade the door behind Kenny. Glenn, when you start hearing Kenny honking start getting people out of there. Doug, Carley, and Lee...you guys are with me. We need to make sure our defenses stay up till Kenny is ready," commanded Wrex.

"Guys that doors not locked anymore," said Doug in a worried tone.

"then let's get on that door! Move!" yelled Wrex as he, Doug, and Lee pushed up against the door.

"Hey Lee...if we don't make it through this, you should know that...I think your a great guy," said Doug in a tone of acceptance.

"We will make it through this!" yelled out Lee.

"Just keep pushing!" yelled out Wrex as well.

Suddenly a barricade comes down as Carley starts shooting at the creatures and making her way over to it as Lee says, "Clementine! Can you look for something to stick in-between the handles! Something real strong, ok?!"

"Ok!" said Clementine as she ran off.

"The window is screwed!" yelled out Doug.

"Go!" yelled out Wrex as Doug listened and headed towards the window.

Suddenly the creatures began pushing the door as Wrex and Lee pushed it back in place until Clementine showed up with a can as she said, "I found something!"

Lee grabbed it as Wrex held the door in place and Lee slipped the cane in-between the door handles. Suddenly, Doug and Carley were both grabbed by walkers so Lee went over to go help Carley as he slipped her another ammo casing and Wrex went to go help Doug but it was to late for Doug as they pulled him outside and started devouring him as Clementine screamed in horror at the sight.

Kenny then barges in as he yells out, "Let's go!"

Everyone then began to head out as Wrex went out through the door past Larry until he heard Clementine say, "No!"

Wrex turn to see Larry grab Clementine as she tried to go back in. Wrex put two and two together and ran back inside to see Lee knocked down with a creature crawling near him as he skewered the creature in the skull as he says, "No one is getting left behind..."

Wrex offered Lee his hand as Lee took it with Wrex helping him up as Wrex finished, "Especially a good friend...Let's go!"

A few mins later...

Everyone met up at the abandoned motel with Kenny and Lee piling up walker corpses on the pick up truck, Duck talking to Clementine, and Wrex watching over the group. Wrex noticed Clementine upset as he approached her and told Duck, "Hey Duck, you mind if I talk to Clem?"

Duck backed away a bit as Wrex asks Clementine, "what's wrong Clem?"

"I got grabbed again..."

"Yeah Lee told me, but that's not your fault Clem it happens and it was a good thing Lee was there to help you," assured Wrex as he tried cheering up Clementine.

"It's not really that...my Walkie-Talkie broke and now it's gone! It was the only way I could talk to my parents and now they're gone too. I know I'm supposed to be tough but I'm sad," said an upset Clementine as tears began streaming down her face.

Wrex looked at her in pity and put his hands on her shoulders as he says to her, "Don't worry, we'll find you another walkie and you can be able to talk to your parents then."

Clementine wiped the tears from her eyes as she looked up at Wrex and said, "Thanks Wrex, but I think I'll keep this one for now...Larry he..."

"I know Clem and I'm about to deal with him right now," interrupted Wrex as he turned and glared at Larry.

Wrex stood up and approached Larry as Larry's demeanor changed from aggressive to defensive as he says to him, "I don't want any trouble from you."

"If you don't want trouble then don't ever put my friend's life at risk...your lucky I don't kill you and feed you to those creatures," threated Wrex.

"Oh, so your friends with a murderer now? I bet you didn't know that didn't you?" asked Larry obnoxiously.

"Yeah I did but I don't care...were all murderers at this point in time...it's just from a certain point of view," answered Wrex to Larrys shock.

"Well you might not care but I do and I want him to stay away from my daughter. Look I'm sorry for how I acted towards you in the Pharmacy, your actually okay compared to that murderer. Let me tell you this though...if something happens to my daughter or that little girl because of him...then it's all on you from that point on," said an angry Larry as he walked off.

Wrex looked on until he saw Lee, Lilly, and Kenny in front of the motel as he approached them with Lee shaking Wrex's hand as he said, "thanks for coming back for me Wrex."

"Anytime Brother," answered Wrex with a smile until explosions could be heard.

"Hear that? That must be military!" exclaimed Lilly in a tone of joy.

"It sure does! You know what guys I have a great feeling about this!" agreed Kenny.

"Same here!" Also agreed Lee.

Suddenly all the street lights began to power off as the whole area was covered in darkness as Wrex comments, "Or not."
