Weiss opens her eyes, gasped for breath, and she felt pain once more. She slowly gets up, wincing in pain, looking around to see herself in a cave room. Just then, she saw a man doing something, she grunts in pain as she manages to sit up.
"I see you're awake." The man replied as he place it on a table near her which is a bowl of stew.
She looks down to see her wearing only her white shirt, which is stained in blood, "What did you do to me...?" She asked.
"What I did do? I save your life." He replied. "I removed almost all of the shrapnel as I could." He explained as Weiss listens.
"As you heard there are some remain." He added, "And it's headed into your atrial septum." He grabs something and placed it next to the bowl of stew, revealing a metal part which is the shrapnel. "I've seen many wounds like that in my village. We call them the walking dead because it takes about a week for the barbs to reach the vital organs."
Then, like that, Weiss pulls down her shirt collar and sees a dark device sticking out where her heart is, it's permanently attached.
"What is that?..." Weiss questioned the device.
"That is an electromagnet, hooked up to some remaining combustion dust here." The man pointed out that there is a wire on the device and sees a barrel of combustion dust. "And it's keeping the shrapnel from entering your heart."
Weiss grabs a jacket and wears it, then looks around the cave area, as she sees the door then along a camera watching them.
The man spoke out, "You may not know, but you and I have met together. Remember at Argus?" He asked.
Weiss stares at the man, seeing him have no hair, and wearing glasses, "I don't recognise you, sorry about that." She said.
"It's okay, I was pretty sure that you weren't in a good mood for parties." He smiled, "Can't help but to agree."
Just then, doors open as the men enter, and the man is immediately alerted. "Come on, stand up." He demanded as Weiss joins up and she noticed the men carrying familiar weapons.
"Those weapons are part of the Schnee Industries..." She remarked in shock.
"Shhhh! Just do as I do." He demanded once more as she remain silent. The main man of the group walks up with a sinister smile.
"Greetings, Weiss Schnee... The most famous mass murderer in the history of Remnant itself." The man spoke up.
Mass murderer? Weiss is confused by that title as the main man continues, "We are honored in meeting you." He introduced himself and the group as Weiss stared. "All we want is a simple request... Build us the Zenith Missile and you'll be free like nothing has ever happened..." He even showed her the photo of the missile launcher.
Weiss glares at the main man, she knew she can't work for these terrorists, they using her resources to hurt others.
"I refused." She stated, and this caused the man who helped to sigh, knowing what will happen...
Just then she is forced to nearly drowned by the other terrorists. She gets pulled out as she desperately gasps for air before being pushed back into the water.
The torture repeats...
She is then sent back to the same cave room, the main man speaks once more, "You will have the materials needed to make the missile. As the shortage... We never run on low." He gestured to the materials. "You will have time to wait, then you will make the missile, and we will let you be free. This is ourdeal and your warning."
They left off, closing the door, and locking it. This leaves Weiss and the man behind.
"So, what do you gonna do?" The man asked.
"...First, we're building something..." Weiss stated.
"You know he won't keep his word." He mentioned the deal.
"No, he won't." Weiss replied as he nodded.
The two are settling here as the camera remains and watches them. They are given time for themselves before they start working. The man decides to voice over this quiet moment.
"I'm sure they're looking for you, Schnee. But they will never find you in these mountains." He said, as Weiss stares at the fireplace, "Look, what you just saw, that is your legacy, Schnee. Your life's work is in the hands of those murderers. Is that how you want to go out? Is this the last act of defiance of the great Weiss Schnee? Or are you going to do something about it?" He asked.
"Well, I'll be dead anyway." Weiss replied, "It's either them or this." She gestured to the device on her chest. "That'll probably kill me in a week."
"Well, then, this is a very important week for you, isn't it? Hm?" He asked.
Then, Weiss makes her choice, "Tell them, I need lights for this workstation, I also need welding gear, oldering station, helmets, goggles, a smelting cup, and two sets of precision tools." She listed.
The man nodded as he comes to the device as he turns on calling Weiss' requests, "Schnee would like to have better lighting, welding gear, an oldering station, helmets, goggles, a smelting cup, and two sets of precision tools." He said.
"Alright." The caller replied as then the device is off. The two are waiting for their arrival as time passes by.
"So who are they?" Weiss asked.
"They are your loyal customers. They called themselves the Branwen Tribe." He explained, "You know, we might be more productive if you include me in the planning process." Weiss glances and agrees.
The tools are here, as Weiss has pulled apart a missile, "Okay..." She muttered as she goes through the insides, "Okay, we don't need this..." She takes out a part and tosses it away, before taking the thing she needed.
The man sees what she is holding, "What is that?" He wondered.
"That's palladium, 0.15 grams." Weiss replied, "Those are materials my company used instead of dust. We need at least 1.6, try to break down the other 11." She ordered.
As the camera watches them, the two men are in the surveillance room watching.
"What's she doing?" The man asked.
"Working." Another responded. As their progress continues.
Weiss makes the clay cup as she proceeds to smelt down the palladium, while she needs to be careful due to her device's connection to the dust barrel. Yinsen uses the tongues to steadily carry the cup of melted palladium towards the clay cup.
"Careful, we only get one shot at this." She warned.
"Relax. I have steady hands. Why do you think you're still alive?" He asked as he slowly pours the liquid metal down.
Weiss realised something, "I haven't gotten your name." She said.
"My name is Yinsen." The man introduced his name.
"Yinsen..." Weiss recalled, "I think I have met you, nice to meet you." She smiled.
"Nice to meet you too." Yinsen smiled back.
Then, later on, Weiss works carefully, with the solidified pallidum ring inserted into the round piece of glass. Now she works on a piece of round-like machinery which then glows blue.
Yinsen is surprised about it. "Whoa. That doesn't look like the Zenith missile." He said.
"That's because it isn't," Weiss replied. "It's a miniaturized arc reactor. I got a big one powering my factory at Mantle. This version should keep the shrapnel out of my heart." She explained.
"But what could it generate?" Yinsen asked.
"If my math is right, and it always is." Weiss informed, "Three gigajoules per second." She answered.
Yinsen is impressed to hear this, "That could run your heart for 50 lifetimes." He stated.
"Or something big for 15 minutes." Weiss added.
Finally, Weiss places some paper drafts on the table, "This is our way out of here." She pointed out.
Yinsen looks at the papers, and sees just some random schematics, "What is it?" He asked.
"Flatten them out and look." Weiss advises, which Yinsen did shows the full draft: A metal suit.
"Oh, wow. Impressive." Yinsen admits as the security camera watches, now the men see Weiss' device was replaced with the arc reactor.
As the arc reactor's insertion is successful, Weiss can freely move around without the dust battery. Then she ponders about Yinsen, "You still haven't told me where you're from." She said.
Yinsen replies, "I'm from a small town called Gulmira. It's actually a nice place, despite the deserts in Mistral." He explained.
"Got a family?" She asked.
"Yes, and I will see them when I leave here. And you, Schnee?" He asked of hers.
"No." She respond.
"No? So you're a woman who has everything and nothing." Yinsen replied as Weiss is silent by this.
Later on, the men watch the security footage with remarks occurring. They see Weiss is operating what appears to be a leg.
"It doesn't look anything like the picture." The man commented.
"Maybe it's been modified." The second man suggests.
"The tail is wrong." The first one chastised.
"It's just backwards." The second replied. Just then another man, revealed to be the leader of this group walks in and sees the footage.
Later on, he and his men arrived in the room, Weiss and Yinsen are suddenly alarmed by their arrival.
"Relax." He said, then he motions the two men to remove their hands from above their hands. As they do, he inspects the arc reactor on Weiss' chest that is seen glowing through her white shirt.
"The bow and arrow once was the pinnacle of weapons technology." He explains, "Our first warrior, once allow this weapon to rule of the majority of Mistral. A large empire, greater than Atlas. But today, whoever holds the latest Schnee weapons rules these lands. And soon, it will be my turn." He stated. "So here's the question... Why have you failed me?" He questioned.
Yinsen speaks out, "We're working. Diligently."
He walks up with an angered expression, "I let you live. This is how you repay me?" He questioned.
"It's very complex. She's trying very hard." Yinsen continues to explain.
He's not having his excuses, "On his knees." He commands his men, and they force Yinsen on his knees, " You think I'm a fool? I'll get the truth." He speaks harshly as he grabs some tongues, holding a red fire dust crystal.
"We're both working." Yinsen tries to explain.
"Open your mouth." He demanded.
Weiss needs to do something, "We're both working, what more do you want?" She asked.
"You think I'm a fool?!" The man retorted, "What's going on? Tell me the truth." He demanded.
"She's building your missile." Yinsen replied, "She's building your missile."
"What do you want? A delivery date?" Weiss asked as she walks up the men raised their guns at her, but then he ordered them to lower down, "I need him, he's a good assistant."
The man moves the burning coal out of Yinsen as he relived, then he speaks to Weiss, "You have till tomorrow to assemble my missile." He warned. And they left off, Weiss and Yinsen needed to work fast.
Weiss is hammering the helmet of the suit, she cools it in the water, before setting it on the table in front of Yinsen. The set is nearly complete.
Weiss is wrapping her hands with gauze tape, along with wearing gloves, then finally, she's inside the suit with Yinsen helping her suit up, leaving only her head exposed.
"Okay? Can you move?" Yinsen asked making a gripping motion which Weiss does and nodded. He secure the suit and asked, "Okay, say it again." He said.
"41 steps straight ahead. Then 16 steps, that's from the door, fork right, 33 steps, turn right." Weiss replied, telling the steps to leave the cave.
Meanwhile, the leader sees the footage, Weiss and Yinsen are nowhere to be seen.
"Where is Schnee?" He demanded.
"She was here a moment ago." The man replied.
"Go look for her." He ordered.
Men with armed guns run to the door, as the first one knocks on the door, "Yinsen! Yinsen! Schnee! What is going on!?" He asked.
Weiss and Yinsen hear this, "You need to say something." She said.
"I don't know what to say." Yinsen replied.
"We're going in!" The man shouted as he opens the door but what they don't realised was that it is rigged with explosives as it explode knocking them down.
The leader sees this in the footage, he yells to his men, "Get the rest down here!" He yelled.
Meanwhile, Weiss hears the explosives, "I assume that work." She assumed.
"It worked all right." Yinsen replied.
Weiss smirked, "Of course it did."
"Let me finish this." Yinsen stated.
"Initialize the power sequence now." Weiss instructed.
"Okay." Yinsen acknowledges as he goes to the computer and types on a keyboard. "Tell me."
"Function 11. Tell me when you see a progress bar. It should be up right now." Weiss described it as the computer showing the bar.
"I have it." Yinsen confirmed.
"Press Control 'l'." Weiss instructed. Yinsen did and nodded with confirmation, "Then 'I' and 'Enter'. Come over here and button me up."
"Got it." Yinsen replied. He works on the suit, as time is running low.
"Every other hex bolt." Weiss ordered. Just as Yinsen continues on, then suddenly shouting is heard from the door.
"They're coming..." Yinsen said.
"Make sure the checkpoints are clear before you follow me out, okay?" Weiss stated.
"We need more time..." Yinsen runs up and grabs the gun from the downed men, "Hey, I'm gonna go buy you some time."
"No!" Weiss yelled, "Stick to the plan!" But it's too late, Yinsen runs out of the cave with a gun. "Yinsen!" She stares at the computer screen, seeing the progress bar move. She hopes the bar to be finished so she can reach Yinsen.
Back at the caves, the scared men are being chased by Yinsen who is aimlessly shooting. As soon he turns, he sees the leader and his men aiming their guns.
Inside the cell, men with guns enter, without them knowing, the progress bar is complete, her suit is powered up and the lights are shut off. The men then turn their gun flashlights on, and they walk slowly towards the cell, looking for that one prisoner.
Somewhere, a gloved hand clenches, ready for action.
As one of the men walks around, he noticed a faint glow in front of him, he looks at it. Then his face gets met with a punch, that sent him flying. The other men fired their guns, and flashes occur.
The firing stopped, and they were waiting. Then a figure comes out and knocks out the other two. Then the figure walks out of the cell entrance, as it's Weiss herself wearing a full armored metal suit, with the arc reactor showing on the chest area.
She walks out, and as she hears many men coming, they arrived in the cave hallway. They shoot the armored Weiss, with bullet bounce off, undamaging it. Using the suit's power, the sheer strength overwhelms each man as now they run out in fear.
They flee, closing the door, with one left behind as he is banging on the door desperate and demanding to get it. As the last man sees the armored figure coming closer...
From the other side, they hear screaming, then a loud thud, and the screaming stops... They aimed their guns, waiting for something to happen. Then loud bangs and dents appeared on the metal door, they slowly backed away, until the door break off, with one of them getting slammed by it while the rest flee.
Weiss manages to swing her arm and knock another man but got her arm stuck by the cave wall. She struggles to pull out as one of the men points his gun at the head and shoots but the bullet ricochets back to him.
Weiss stopped and stare at the dead man, before using her other arm to break the chunk of the wall as her arm is free.
She walks, following the steps she memorized, until she sees the light from the cave, only to see Yinsen down, with bullet wounds on his chest.
"Yinsen!" Weiss shouted.
"Watch out!..." Yinsen's weakened voice calls out, as Weiss noticed the leader trying to shoot his rocket launcher at her, she ducks down narrowly avoiding the rocket. She opens a panel from her armored arm, revealing a small missile, and shoots at the leader. It hits the wall, but the fiery explosion impacted the man and he screamed in pain, before falling down.
She walks up to Yinsen, opening her helmet. "Come on. We gotta go now, stick to the plan." She said.
"This was always the plan, Schnee." Yinsen smiled.
Weiss is confused, "What do you mean? Come on, we gotta go, you're gonna go see your family. Get up." She begged.
"My family is dead." Yinsen revealed, which Weiss widen her eyes, "I'm going to see them now, Schnee." Weiss can't believe to hear this, she tries to speak... "...It's okay. I want this. I want this." He assured.
"...Thank you... For saving me." Weiss thanked him.
"Don't waste it. Don't waste your life." Yinsen promised. Then he gave his last breath and closed his eyes.
Weiss looks remorseful, seeing her helper, die only accepting this death. She'll promise him, then she looks at the open cave exit, her expression angry.
The rest of the men have their guns aimed at the cave entrance, then they hear loud footsteps as the armored Weiss walks out.
"Open fire!" One of the men shouted, as a barrage of guns fired, every bullet bounce off as they notice their guns didn't harm the armor.
"...My turn." Weiss remarked as she shoot out flamethrowers from both of her wrists. The men run away from the flames while some are caught on fire. As she walks forward, burning down their camp, including their weapons, supplies, and explosives.
One of the men uses a heavy current gun and fires at the armored figure, the bigger bullets begin to stagger her, as she gets on her knees. She looks around, as she proceeds to aim the flamethrowers at the explosives more.
Then explosions occur everywhere, she then opens a panel from her other arm and flicks a switch. Then flames emitted from her feet which she took off to the sky, as the explosion engulfed the terrorist's entire camp base.
Only a short while she has flown off until the jet boots stopped. As she falls to the ground.
She screamed, as she is hurled into the sand dunes, as a big crash occur. In the aftermath, Weiss is still alive, with only half of her suit gone. She groaned from the crash before she tries to get off her ruined suit.
She looks around to see herself far away from the base, "...I made it..." She panted.
Time has passed as Weiss wanders in the desert, tired and exhausted. Just then Atlas airships arrived, and they found her, as she is waving her hands.
The ship landed in front of her as she cover her face with the sand blown off. Then Fenix rushes out, "You okay?" He asked as Weiss collapsed on her knees, which Fenix helped her get up.
Weiss smiles in relief, "Yeah... I am fine." She said to Fenix as he smiled back.
Weiss Schnee is found and safe.
