Chapter 38:
Kakashi woke up feeling well rested and back to normal, stretching himself out across the bedroll. He jolted up with a start, finally realizing Naruto wasn't in the tent with him. Fear stabbed at his gut as he fumbled his way to the tent's entrance. He sighed in relief when he spotted Naruto a fair distance away practicing his taijutsu with his newly acquired kunai. Kakashi pulled himself from the tent, silently making his way behind the blonde to watch him work. Naruto was dressed in only his boxers, a sheen of sweat, reflecting the early morning light, shimmered across his shoulders and back. Kakashi groaned at the sight, the blonde's muscles flexing and shifting with his movements. The young man was quickly switching between Front to Back stances, slashing and kicking at the air in front of him. Naruto turned sharply toward a tree directly beside him, the kunai in his hand alive with chakra. The sweeping edge of the blade sliced at an angle down toward the trunk of the tree, slicing it in half effortlessly. Kakashi watched as the top of the tree fell to the ground with a soft thud, once again flabbergasted by Naruto's natural ability. He made his way quietly toward the blonde, finally capturing his attention when he was a few steps away. "Good morning, Kashi. I hope I didn't wake you. I woke up kind of early and was feeling restless so I thought I would test out my new blade." Naruto was looking down at the blade in his hand when Kakashi finally reached him. Kakashi's knuckles dragged their way up the young man's tight abdomen, "You really are something else, Naruto." Naruto finally met the eyes of the older Shinobi, they were both open and hungry, twinkling with desire. Naruto sucked his lip into his mouth unconsciously biting down at it harshly, stifling back a moan as arousal flared in him. Kakashi reached a hand up to pull at Naruto's chin, freeing his lip, a harsh exhale of breath escaped the blonde's lips, dancing across his face. The nin inhaled deeply with a moan, his other hand finding its way to the ass of the blonde, pulling him in close to him. A small whimper escaped Naruto's mouth, his mouth still held slighting open by Kakashi's hand. Unable to hold back any longer, Kakashi plunged his tongue into his mouth, the hand at his chin moving back around behind his head. Naruto was moaning loudly in his mouth, shifting his hips to drag Kakashi's length along his. A growl reverberating in his throat, Kakashi walked the young man slowly backwards toward a tree stump near the river. Naruto's lower half now pressed tightly against the stump, Kakashi brought his hand from behind him to the front, groping at his aching length. Naruto gasped at the touch, a shiver running down his spine. Kakashi finally noticed Naruto was still awkward clutching the kunai in his hand, deftly pulling it free from the blonde, he dipped down low and drove the blade deep into the tree trunk, licking his way back up the torso in front of him as he righted himself. Naruto was vibrating with need, both hands now harshing clutching Kakashi's upper arms. Kakashi's eyes looked dangerous as he flicked his tongue up across Naruto's lips, growling, "Turn around and bend over." Naruto's eyes widened, a soft whimper leaving his lips. He quickly complied, releasing Kakashi's arms and turning around. He bent over as directed, placing his hands atop the tree stump. Both of Kakashi's hands found their way below the blonde's waistband, grabbing harshly at his firm ass cheeks. He could feel the young man shudder as he was pushed free of his boxers, his head dipped low and shoulder muscles tense. Kakashi felt feral, kicking the blonde's feet further apart, while quickly coating his fingers with saliva. He rubbed his fingers harshly across Naruto's entrance before plunging them in deep, curling and flicking at the bundle of nerves within. Naruto's head snapped back, a guttural moan tearing from his mouth. Kakashi groaned at the lewd sight, quickly pushing down his own boxers and bringing his free hand up to his mouth, spitting into it. He wrapped his length in his heavily saliva coated hand, stroking it and hissing at his touch. He flicked and scissored his fingers faster into the blonde, the young man's legs slightly shaking as he moaned out in pleasure. Finally pulling his fingers free from him, Kakashi brought the tip of his length to his entrance. Naruto was slightly panting, head hung low again, catching his breath. Kakashi grabbed him tightly around his hips before burying himself in deep. The young man's head snapped back once more, his back arching and fingers clawing at the trunk of the tree. A keening moan reverberated in the blondes throat, finally gasping out, "Oh fuck… Kashi… yes..." Kakashi bit harshly onto his lip, trying to regain some semblance of composure. He was pounding mercilessly into the blonde, fingers dug painfully into his hips. He was struggling to keep his eyes open, completely lost in his pleasure, the tight feel of the blonde and his loud mewling moans driving him wild. Nearing his peak, Kakashi moved his hands from the young man's hips, moving one up to his chest, the other to his weeping length. He harshly pulled Naruto's back up to his chest, still pounding hard into him. He started pumping viciously at the young man's length, growling into his ear, "Scream for me, little fox." Naruto came hard in the nin's hand, bellowing his name into the meadow. Kakahis met his release immediately after, not holding back the loud aching moan that left his lips.
He pulled himself free from the blonde, head swimming lightly as he tried to catch his breath. Naruto fell to his knees, gripping tightly to the tree stump in front of him. Kakashi dropped to his knees as well, curling his arms around Naruto from behind, "Kami, Naruto, the effect you have over me is overwhelming. You make me, a seasoned shinobi who is used to always being in control, completely lose control. I'm sorry, are you okay, love?" The blonde was trembling slightly in his arms, panting out, "So…good… Kashi." Kakashi chuckled and hummed happily into his neck, nipping lightly at the flesh. Kakashi tried to push himself to his feet, feeling his knees buckle slightly under his weight. Laughing he fell back to knees, rewrapping his arms around the blonde, "How about we rest for a bit, then clean up in the river?" Naruto quickly nodded, still trembling and panting against the stump. Kakashi coaxed him to lay down with him on the soft grass, spooning him from behind. The blonde quickly relaxed in his arms, threading his fingers with Kakashi's that were wrapped around his waist. Kakashi buried his face in Naruto's hair, inhaling deeply, shuddering at the intoxicating and relaxing scent of the young man, arousal slowly building its way back up inside of him, "Kami, I just can't get enough of you." Naruto hummed happily in Kakashi's embrace, squeezing his hands tightly. They lay there a while, catching their breath. The sun was making its way higher into the sky, the plans for an early morning trip back to the mainland quickly fleeting. Kakashi chuckled as he watched Naruto slowly push himself up off the ground, holding desperately above his knees to steady himself. "Sorry love, I might have gotten a bit carried away there." Kakashi mused while carefully pushing himself to his feet. The blonde had a half smirk on his face, gingerly stepping out of his boxers, "You won't hear me complain." Kakashi laughed loudly at the parroted response, "Loud and clear love." he chuckled back.
They made their way down into the river, quickly cleaning up before returning to camp. They sat near the snuffed out fire and ate a light breakfast while Kakashi went over the map in his lap. "It's getting a bit late in the day now, but I am still hopeful that we can boat our way back to the mainland and then traverse south west toward the Land of Fire. I was hoping to reach Tanzaku Town today but that might be a bit far given the amount of daylight we have left." Kakashi smirked at the flushed face of the young man, continuing, "Once we make landfall back on the mainland we will travel along the coastline to avoid the Shinobi village, Yugakure, eventually bedding down with nightfall. Aside from the village, It is a fairly remote section of the country so I doubt we will run into any trouble."
They finished eating and packed up camp, walking back along the overgrown path through the village out to the rundown dock. Kakashi fired the boat's motor back up without issue, steering them back and away from the island toward the mainland. Naruto cast one last forlorn glance at the island behind them, reflecting on all the things Kakashi had told him and the sights he had seen. His clan's history was a painful one, but one that only seemed fitting with the life he had been forced to live so far. He smiled softly at the prospects of a brighter future, finally looking at Kakashi who was focusing his attention to the water before them, carefully steering them back in the direction of home. Naruto quickly turned away from the nin, a tear traveling down his cheek. He rubbed at it hastily, feeling silly over his show of emotion. He sighed happily to himself, praying that everything would eventually be okay. That him and Kakashi could live out the rest of their days in peace and happiness. They had both been through so much hurt and pain in their lives that it felt to him like the universe owed them at least some comfort in return.
They reached the mainland quickly, the seas calm yet again. Kakashi quickly shifted into his disguise jutsu, grabbing Naruto's attention to do the same. Kakashi moored the boat along the dock, ducking into the rundown hut of the port master to announce their return.
Wasting no time, they made their way south west along the coastline, the bright afternoon day sun beating down on them mercilessly. Kakashi was checking over Naruto constantly, knowing the high temperatures and their steady pace of travel were not something he was used to. Sweat was glistening on the young man's forehead, his brow furrowed slightly in concentration. Kakashi let his disguise jutsu fade, capturing Naruto's wrist and steering him into the nearby treeline to rest. "You can drop the jutsu, love, I think we are far enough away from Bamboo village now that we won't run into anyone." Naruto sighed lightly as he let his disguise fade, drinking heavily from his canteen, "The heat is really taking it out of me. How much longer until the sun goes down?" Kakashi looked to the sky, measuring the distance of the sun working its way west to the horizon stretched before them, "I think we have about three more hours before we should look for a place to sleep for the night. That will bring us very close to the border into Fire Country. How about we stick a little closer to the treeline for shade." Naruto smiled, nodding, "That sounds good, I don't know why the heat is hitting me so hard here. We encountered far worse in the Land of Earth…" Kakashi placed a soft kiss on the blonde forehead, carefully gauging his body temperature without being obvious. Naruto was warm but not fevered, Kakashi noted. "It's probably just because of your prolonged chakra use, love. Maintaining that jutsu while it may seem easy does drain you pretty quickly. Even I was struggling to maintain it in this heat. Plus we might both be a little tired…" Kakashi smirked, catching the quickly flushing cheeks of the blonde. He laughed heartily before quickly swallowing back more water from his canteen. "You ready to continue? We don't have much further before we rest for the night." Naruto nodded, adjusting the straps of his rucksack.
They continued on their way, hugging more closely to the tree line. The temperature did continue to dip as the sun set low in front of them. Hours passed quickly as they hastily made their way along the coast. Night finally approaching, Kakashi kept a look out for decent places to bed down for the night. There wasn't anything much in the way of good concealable cover unfortunately but he did eventually decide to dip further into the treeline far from the beach. They would forgo a fire tonight and leave at daybreak to avoid any possible interactions with nearby travelers. Tent now pitched, sitting quietly in it eating their dinner, Kakashi pulled out his map. "We aren't far from the border into Fire Country. I think we will bypass Tanzaku Town, we have plenty of supplies to last us until we reach the farmhouse. We will continue to travel west until we pass the border, then start tracking north hugging bordering lands. This section of Fire Country is heavily forested with very few settlements so the passage through here will be easy. We should be reaching the place I wanted to show you by dinnertime." Naruto nodded, a sad smile on his face, "It's bitter sweet isn't it? It's going to be wonderful finally being home and safe but I am going to miss traveling and exploring with you, Kashi. Plus, once we are back in Fire Country you eventually have to go back to your ANBU duties…" Kakashi folded his map back up, tucking it away in his rucksack. He took Naruto's empty plate from his hands, setting it on the ground beside him before pulling him into a tight hug. Placing soft kisses on the blonde's neck, Kakashi whispered, "No love, no more ANBU. The Sandaime had already suggested I step down from the position before I came looking for you. When we are back in Fire Country I will request his audience and officially resign. I have promised to you and to myself that I will keep you safe and happy. I have no intention of ever letting you out of my sight again, Naruto." Kakashi could feel the young man slightly shaking in his arms. He lowered them both down to lay out on their bedroll, pulling the blankets up over them. He stroked his back, still holding him tightly to chest. "Shhh, everything will be okay, I promise. Go to sleep, little fox. I love you." Still shaking lightly, tears spilling freely from his eyes, Naruto hoarsely replied, "I love you so much" burying his face further into Kakashi's neck. Kakashi smiled, inhaling heavily Naruto's scent, listening carefully as the young man finally fell asleep.
