Rocky pulled up and backed into his spot at the Lookout. Ryder and Zuma were sitting there waiting.

"So you met someone?" asked Zuma.

"Did they help you with the project you wanted to show me?" asked Ryder

"Oh man, the project," exclaimed Rocky "I forgot to grab my notes. I uh, I guess I can go get them tomorrow." Rocky yawned "I, I uh i'm beat, I think I'll go to bed, Good night guys."

"OH, no you don't" said Zuma "Spill it. You don't want me to tickle it out of you, do you?"

"W-what?" sputtered Rocky, "I uh, I worked on my project and it got late. Uh, that's all. Really"

"Yeap, I'm going to have to tickle him" said Zuma walking toward Rocky.

"No, No, no!" said Rocky, backing away with his paws up "Ok ok, So I met someone, we talked a lot and I didn't notice the time."

"So what's Her name?" quirked Zuma smiling.

Ryder just smiled

"W-who said it was a girl?" asked Rocky

Zuma raised an eyebrow at him and just stared at him.

"Fine!" said Rocky, defeated, "Her name is Yeshe. She's a Tibetan Mastiff. She actually seems to like talking about conservation and the things I build. I-I don't know, but it was nice having someone to talk to and uh and…"

"And watching her bouncy pup behind" snarked Zuma. Ryder popped him on the head with a rolled up paper he was carrying.

"What, am I wrong?" laughed Zuma covering his head.

"NO!" said Rocky "She, she is wonderful and has great eyes and a great voice, and really nice"

"Butt" laughed Zuma, dodging Ryder's swat this time.

"Fur, she has nice fur" said Rocky blushing.

"So when do I get to meet Ms. Perfect?" asked Zuma

"Leave him be, Zuma" laughed Ryder

"She'll be here in the morning" said Rocky "She uh, oh I should have asked first. I'm sorry Ryder, I can go tell her some other time."

"No, you all know you can invite anyone you'd like to the Lookout" said Ryder "I look forward to the pup that has finally caught your eye."

"Seriously Rocky," said Zuma "I am glad you found someone that seems to make you happy. I look forward to meeting her as well. But I still bet she has a nice behind." Ryder nailed him once again. Zuma laughed and turned away toward his pup house.

Rocky laid down in his pup house and thought about what had happened that day. He drifted off to sleep with a smile on his face.

Meanwhile back at the cabin Yeshe had walked into the living area and laid on the floor.

"So he seems nice," said Toby.

"He seems amazing," said Yeshe, "I mean for a dog. I guess he is smart and interesting to talk to."

"Like I said," said Toby "It's ok to like someone. Or someday maybe more."

Yeshe looked up and stared at him, then dropped to the floor in a huff.

"What?" asked Toby "Did I say something wrong?"

"No" said Yeshe with a sigh

"Ok girl," said Toby, sitting on the floor in front of Yeshe. "Talk to me. You can tell me anything. We agreed that we could talk about any subject."

"It's nothing," said Yeshe, "just a selfish thought."

"Yeshe, come on" coxed Toby "any subject."

"It's just that I can't think about anything like that or even a relationship," said Yeshe. "I'm sworn to protect you. I won't neglect my duty. Even if I don't get to see him for very long."

"Oh so that's it," said Toby, "You don't want to consider anything because if I decide to go back, you'd be forced to leave him behind."

Yeshe looked up into Toby's eyes then dropped her head. "I know, it's selfish. I'm sorry, I should have never gone down to talk to him. I shouldn't have gotten false hopes."

"Hey, hey Yeshe" cooed Toby picking the pup up and placing her in his lap. "It's not selfish to desire happiness. To be honest, I think we were called to this place for a higher purpose. Who knows, it may have been so that you could meet someone. It could be a myriad of things we don't yet understand. But I can assure you this. If you found someone that you believe is the right one for you, even if I go back, I would never expect you to leave. I would never allow your duty to come before your happiness. You mean too much to me."

"Still, I don't want to get Rocky's hopes up as well if this can't be" cried Yeshe "I don't know if it's just because I've never met anyone else before. But if this is what it feels like to like someone, it feels really good, too good, I don't want to feel that and then have to give it up. I can't help but feel like I'm being selfish."

"There, there, girl" said Toby "Take a deep breath. You're really serious about him. Did he make that great of a first impression? Is my little girl in Love?."

"How would I know" said Yeshe sniffling "I wasn't trained on what love feels like or how to avoid it. I was trained on how to serve and how to fight if needed."

"Like i've said before," said Toby "It doesn't always have to be about duty. I think you should consider everything. You've just met, he might very well be the one. Then again, he might just be your first crush. I don't suspect I will be deciding what my next step is anytime soon. Enjoy your time with him and if you feel it's more than a crush, well, we'll cross that bridge when we get there."

Toby rocked Yeshe back and forth as she drifted off. Toby placed her in her pup bed and walked out into the night to search the heavens for an answer he really felt nagging at him.

Chase arose at his usual time and began his patrol of the area around the Lookout. He noted with a start that Rocky was gone from his pup house. He sniffed his bedding, he had been here recently. Maybe he got up to use the tree. Chase looked around and suddenly Rocky burst out of the Lookout and ran down the hill.

"Is something wrong?" yelled Chase as Rocky ran past.

"Sorry, I have to get something taken care of before the day starts" yelled Rocky over his shoulder as he ran.

Chase watched Rocky as he seemed to run faster than Chase remembered him ever running before. He shrugged and returned to his patrol, finally walking into the Lookout's kitchen and saw a note on the counter.

Ryder,

I've gone to the shore to get my notes. I'll be back and showered before the day starts. I hope to help make breakfast before she arrives.

Rocky

'She?' thought Chase 'who's she? And Rocky, showered?' something was weird with Rocky that was for sure. About that time Skye walked in and walked over to Chase.

"Morning sweetie, what's up?" Skye said as she licked his muzzle before walking over to the water bowls.

A shiver ran through Chase as she did that, he shuttered and spoke, "Uh, wow, uh, something weird with Rocky this morning."

"What, is he sick?" asked Skye, stopping her drinking and looking up with concern.

"No I don't think so" said Chase "but he shot out of here this morning like he was on fire. He left Ryder a note."

"Let me see" Skye as she walked over to the counter and read the note. "Oh wow" she exclaimed "Oh My Goodness!

"Wow, what?" asked Chase.

"Rocky's met someone" she smiled "Isn't obvious, I have to call Everest."

"Call Everest what?" said Everest walking in her stomach growling already.

"Oh, you're still here" Skye said as she shoved the note toward Everest. Everest read it.

"Oh wow!" said Everest "Holy liver sausages!"

"You too?" exclaimed Chase

"What did I miss?" asked Marshall walking into the kitchen.

"Morning Pups" said Ryder walking in "What's got everyone up so early this morning?"

"Rocky left early and at a dead run" said Chase "He left a note."

Ryder walked over and picked up the note noting that it was wrinkled from all the pups reading it. He turned to the pups and smirked, they all managed to look in different directions at the same time. Ryder read it and smiled.

"What?" said Marshall

"Rocky met a girl yesterday" explained Ryder "We need to be supportive. Rocky doesn't have any experience with girls and we don't want to bug him about it. I'm sure she's nice."

"Rocky? A girl?" said Marshall

"Oh yeah," said Zuma walking in and heading to the water bowl, "He hopeless, I've seen it before. The boy's toast."

"Stop it Zuma" said Skye

"I think it's sweet" said Everest

"Oh don't get me wrong" said Zuma "Rocky had that look that can be nothing other than full blown crush."

"How serious can it be?" said Marshal

"The note says he'll be showered before she gets here" said Skye "I'd say that's pretty serious. Rocky never volunteers for a bath."

"Wow, we might as well rent the church" laughed Zuma.

"Oh quit it" said Everest "you're horrible"

"I love the pup," said Zuma "but he's hopelessly done."

"Who is done sweetheart" said Sunny walking in. Zuma melted the second he saw Sunny

"Yeah, speaking of toast," laughed Chase.

"Rocky apparently met someone," explained Chase.

About that time Rocky ran through the kitchen and straight up into the bathroom where the sound of the shower running was immediately heard.

"That's it!" laughed Zuma "The world is coming to an end." He grabbed his chest and fell to the floor.

Everyone laughed. Ryder spoke, "Seriously guys, I want everyone on their best behavior. When she gets here we'll treat her like one of the gang."

"We will" the pups all said together

"Talk about flipping a switch" said Zuma "I'm happy for him. I hope it works out. I can't imagine what he'll be like if it doesn't."

Rocky came walking out of the bathroom clean, shiny and smelling really good.

"Wow, Rocky" said Skye, doing a backflip "You clean up great"

"Thanks" said Rocky blushing

"So what's her name" said Marshall

Rocky turned to look at Zuma,

"What?" said Zuma "They would have found out anyway"

Rocky huffed, "Her name is Yeshe, it means 'Wisdom' in Tibetan. She's a Tibetan Mastiff. Her and her friend, Toby, are here from a real Tibetan Monastery. They came so Toby could decide if he wants to return to be a full monk or not."

"And most importantly" said Zuma "She actually enjoys and understands Rocky's Technospeak"

Rocky stuck his tongue out at Zuma but then laughed. She's very nice and Toby seems nice as well.

"We'll put on a good show for her," said Marshall.

Right on time Toby and Yeshe arrived. Rocky was standing outside with Zuma. Rocky was shaking as they approached.

"Chill out dude," said Zuma "You're gonna blow a gasket. You're fine, she wouldn't be here if she didn't like you. Let it come naturally, be yourself. If she is the one, it'll work out."

Likewise , Yeshe was shaking as they walked up the ramp to the Lookout.

"Yeshe," said Toby, "calm down girl. If he's the one, it'll work out. If not, I'll kill him for hurting you."

Yeshe spun and started to growl but saw Toby's face and laughed.

"Thata girl," said Toby, "it will be fine. Relax, have fun, let it come naturally."

As they walked up Rocky walked toward them. He had worked on this speech to get it just right, 'Welcome to the Lookout, the heart of Paw Patrol and our headquarters.'

As the two stopped in front of Rocky, Rocky and Yeshe staring into each other's eyes, what finally came out was "Hi…" from both of them. They continued to stare into each other's eyes.

Zuma laughed, "Hello, you must be Toby" said Zuma stepping up. "Welcome to Paw Patrol headquarters or simply the Lookout. I'm Zuma. Ryder should be down, um now" Ryder stepped out of the elevator and walked over to the group.

"Welcome to the Lookout, I'm Ryder," said Ryder shaking Toby's hand. Ryder turned to look at Rocky and Yeshe.

"Should we at least water them and put them in the sun" snickered Zuma. Ryder playfully kicked at Zuma who dodged it laughing.

"Um Rocky?" said Ryder "Would, uh would you like to introduce us to her?"

"What, uh, yeah" said Rocky, noticing the other pups all stepping up to surround everyone, "This is Yeshe.

"H-hello" said Yeshe.

"You are adorable" said Everest

"You must be hot with all that heavy fur" said Skye

"If you need help with your undercoat," said Everest, "trust me husky's know hot fur. I have the most amazing undercoat brush. I'll gladly help. You know what we should do a spa day at Katie's"

"That's a great idea" said Skye "Yeshe? How long are y'all in town?"

"I'm not sure," said Yeshe, obviously feeling a little overwhelmed, she turned and looked at Rocky.

"Um girls, May I Show Yeshe Around Now?" said Rocky, pronouncing each word clearly.

"Oh, sorry" said Skye and Everest together, "We did sort of hijack her, didn't we?"

"It's o-ok" said Yeshe "I've just never been around any other dogs and in the last day, I'm now surrounded. I really enjoy meeting everyone, I'm just amazed at all the breeds. To be honest, we weren't sure if I was the only one that could talk or if it was only Toby that could hear me."

"Wow" said Marshall "I guess I never thought about it. I've always lived where dogs could talk. That would have seemed weird going somewhere and not knowing if I could communicate or not."

"We're really sorry" said Skye "We only have the two of us girls around town. We tend to get over excited when another girl is around."

"But I was serious about going to Katie's" said Everest "You would love it, She can do amazing things to make your fur soft."

"So I can have her back now?" said Rocky.

"Of course" said the girls laughing

Rocky began walking around the outside showing her and Toby the different trucks and explaining what they could do. Then he took them inside and began showing all the equipment as they went.

"So I saw you talking into your collar" said Yeshe "how does that work?"

Ryder chimed in and explained how the pup tags worked. He offered Yeshe a tag and gave Toby a special phone that allowed him and Yeshe to communicate while they stayed in Adventure Bay.

"I've never had a cell phone before" said Toby "to think about it, I've never had any technology before coming to visit. I was given a laptop and told how to use it to look up information while in the regular world but that is it. It's not like we have cell towers in Tibet."

"That's crazy" said Chase "I can't image life without technology"

"I sometimes wish I could get away from all the gadgets" said Zuma "It makes my head hurt to think about how everything works. But that's why I have Rocky, if he can't figure it out, it's not worth knowing anyway."

"Whatever" said Rocky "I think my friends are trying to make me out to be better than I am."

"No dude," said Zuma "I'm serious, you're the smartest pup I know and I know a lot of pups."

"Yeah, mostly female" laughed Rocky

"True but some of them are really smart" said Zuma "Like Sunny, She's the most beautiful and intelligent."

"Now you're just sucking up," laughed Sunny.

"Everyone seems so great here" said Yeshe "I hope we are able to stay awhile."

"Me too," said Rocky "Otherwise, I might have to sneak into your luggage."

Everyone laughed at that.

"So what all are you doing?" asked Marshall

"Well, Toby has been studying for years to become a monk" explained Yeshe "Before taking final holy orders, you enter a time of reflection. You are supposed to look at your life and decide once and for all if you choose to serve the rest of your life as a monk. Toby has reached that point and his teacher told him to go where he felt lead. His meditations brought us here."

"I'm really glad you came here" said Rocky

"Hey, if you two need to find somewhere quiet to meditate" said Everest "You should come to Jake's Mountain. There isn't anywhere more peaceful than the mountains. Speaking of mountains, can you see Mount Everest from your home?"

"Not from the monastery," said Yeshe "But only a short walk to a nearby overlook, you can see it really well on clear days. Toby's teacher climbed it during a period of enlightenment."

"Wow, that's so cool," said Everest.

Toby and Ryder had moved off to one area of the Lookout and were discussing all sorts of things. The pups decided to take Yeshe to the TV room and introduce her to Pup Pup Boogie.

She watched several times and then decided to try it herself. She was really good being able to balance and move pad to pad with ease.

"Wow!" said Rocky, breathing hard, "tell me you've actually played this before."

"No, I'd never even seen a TV at all before coming here," said Yeshe.

"How are you so good?" asked Rocky

"The moves are very much like the training we did to become Temple Mastiffs" explained Yeshe "The moves are kind of like martial art moves. If I think of it as training I can visualize the move before needing to make it and just flow into the forms."

"Wow, I guess I really haven't thought of it like that" said Marshall "It does appear to be like Pupfu."

"Oh you've heard of Pupfu?" said Yeshe "Our style is based on Pupfu."

"Farmer Yumi is a Pupfu Master," said Rocky "she's taught all of us. But Marshall has excelled and been taught some advanced moves."

"Very impressive Marshall," said Yeshe, bowing to Marshall.

Rocky stared at Marshall, feeling jealous of the compliment. He thought to himself, 'what was that? She's not my girlfriend, why am I feeling like this?'

"However, a strong mind is often the greatest weapon" said Marshall, bowing in return to Yeshe and winking at Rocky. And just like that the feeling was gone.

The pups continued talking and laughing. Rubble showed up with Obi and talked everyone into introducing Yeshe to 'Apollo the Superpup.' They laughed and talked. Ryder fixed lunch and then dinner for everyone.

Everest spoke with Toby and convinced him that they needed to visit Jake's Mountain soon.

The evening had begun to wind down. Yeshe and Rocky had moved off to a corner and were talking.

"Yeshe," said Toby "It has been great but it's time to go."

"Already?" said Yeshe and Rocky almost together.

"It's been over 10 hours," laughed Toby, "we're not leaving town. You can come back tomorrow if you'd like and it's ok with Ryder."

"You are both welcome anytime" said Ryder.

"If it's ok" said Rocky "I'll come see you in the morning."

Yeshe looked to Toby who nodded.

"That would be wonderful" said Yeshe "Then Toby won't have to give up another day of meditation to bring me here."

"With the Tag Ryder loaned you," said Toby "I can call anytime but I can also see where you are at. You don't need me to lead you. Regardless Rocky, you may come anytime you'd like."

"Ok, well Good Night Yeshe" said Rocky

'Kiss her' thought Zuma.

'Kiss him' thought Skye and Everest.

They stared at each other and finally Yeshe leaned and lightly kissed the side Rocky's muzzle.

Rocky stiffened, wide eyed.

Yeshe said "Good night Rocky, Good night everyone. She turned and followed Toby out into the night toward their cabin.

Rocky melted to the floor. While everyone held their breath. As the doors to the Lookout closed, everyone broke into gales of laughter.

No doubt about it, Rocky was in love.
