Chapter 44:
Kakashi wakes up to Naruto pressing soft kisses to his chest, he hums happily, "Good morning, love." Naruto kisses his way up to Kakashi's face, pressing a warm kiss to his lips, "Morning, Kashi." The blonde's eyes look tired but are twinkling brightly, his hair disheveled as always. Kakashi collectes one of the blondes' wrists in his hands, checking it for damage. There are still faint red marks around it from the chakra wire, "I'm sorry love, I got very carried away. I didn't mean to hurt you. Are you okay?" Naruto smiles at him brightly, "You didn't hurt me Kashi, I promise. Besides, I may have intentionally pushed you too far." The blonde looks away from him shyly, a blush quickly creeping onto his cheeks. Kakashi laughs loudly at his sudden bashfulness, "Yes, you definitely did, naughty little fox." Naruto's stomach growls loudly, the young man wincing at his hunger. Kakashi chuckles, pushing himself up. "We didn't eat last night, someone refused to wake up. Come on, I'll go make us some breakfast." Kakashi hops from the bed, making his way out the door. "Kashi?" the blonde calls from behind him. Naruto has wrapped the comforter around his body, a timid smile on his face, "Can you… umm… help me. I don't think I can walk just yet. My legs feel like jello." Kakashi smiles at the blonde affectionately, "Of course, love." He scoops Naruto up and carries him out to the living room, sitting him carefully on the couch next to a sleeping Bisuke. The hound stirs as Naruto is placed next to him, quickly crawling closer to the young man and setting his head in his lap. Naruto smiles brightly, scratching the dog behind the ears. "You guys stay put, I'll go make some breakfast." Kakashi made his way into the laundry room, stuffing their comforter into the dryer. He opens the backdoor to let out the hounds, refilling their food bowls before making his way into the kitchen. Setting the coffee pot to brew, he quickly whips them up a feast. He plates Naruto out a substantial portion, well aware of his love's insatiable hunger. Arms heavily laden with both of their plates and two cups of steaming coffee, Kakashi moves into the living room, shooing Bisuke off of the couch. The hound grumbles at him, slow to stretch himself out, finally hopping down. Now seated, the nin hands Naruto his plate, setting the steaming mugs of coffee on the table. As expected Naruto ate his meal with his usual enthusiasm, praise for Kakashi's cooking mumbled out between each mouth full.
They finished their meals quickly, Naruto sighing happily. Kakashi collects his plate, stacking it on the coffee table with his own, "Feel better now, love?" Still wrapped up tightly in the comforter, Naruto nods, "Much better, thank you." Kakashi smiles at the blonde, running his finger through his still wild hair. "Wait… holy shit! How did the meeting with the Sandaime go?" Laughing, Kakashi replies, "So you finally remembered hmmm…" He nuzzles into Naruto's neck, kissing and sucking at his throat gently. The blonde angles his head away, offering up more of his neck to Kakashi's affections. "Please, tell me how it went, Kashi." The nin presses a few more kisses to his neck before pulling back with a smile, "It went really well. Everything is okay now, love. You are free to live happily." Naruto's eyes went wide, quickly brimming with tears, "Wait…really? So you're not in trouble? We get to stay here together?" Kakashi nodded, "Yes, love. And no more ANBU either. I will be here to keep you safe and happy, just as I promised." Naruto throws back the comforter and launches himself into Kakashi's lap, quickly wrapping his arms around his shoulders and burying his face into his neck. Kakashi laughs through a groan, the hot naked skin of the blonde pressed tightly to his cool chest sending a flair of arousal to his groin. Naruto pushed back from him, blushing, "Sorry… forgot I was naked." Naruto goes to push himself off of Kakashi but the nin holds him firm, reaching for the comforter and draping it around him. "Let me hold you for a while, love. Just like this." Kakashi pulls him back in tight, burying his face into his neck, "I love you my little fox." Happy tears are streaking down the blonde's face, "I love you too, Kashi. So much."
The rest of the day passed quickly, spent mostly lounging about lazily, Naruto finished the rest of 'Icha Icha Paradise' while laying on the couch with his head in Kakashi's lap. They made a quick dinner and fed the dogs before turning in for the night, Naruto still overly sore and tired from the previous day.
A week passes by quickly, the pair falling into a comfortable routine of making breakfast, taking care of different tasks on the property, playing with the ninken, dinner and love making. A knock on the door, so early in the morning, puts Kakashi on edge, his ninken hadn't alerted him to any threats but he was still primed for attack when he opened the door. At the threshold stood the blacksmith delivering the long forgotten kunai he had dropped off in the village a week before. Sighing in relief and giving the smith his many thanks he closes the door. Naruto meets him in the hall leading from their bedroom, still towel drying his hair from showering, "Who was at the door?" Kakashi smiles and shows the blonde his newly restored kunai blade. Naruto's mouth falls open, dropping the towel to the floor to take the blade in his hands. Bending down to retrieve the discarded towel, Kakashi chuckles, bringing it back up to further dry Naruto's still dripping locks, "I dropped it off at the blacksmiths in Konoha when I went to meet with the Sandaime. In all honesty, I forgot about it until the smith delivered it today." Naruto was turning the blade over in his hands, the once dull rusted kunai now gleaming and dangerously sharp. "It's beautiful, thank you Kashi… it feels like it has been a long time but… do you think we can do some training today?" Satisfied the blonde hair is now properly dry, Kakashi drapes the towel over his shoulder, replying, "We can do whatever you want, love, your wish is my command."
