Chapter 46:

A few weeks past in their familiar routine, adding in some chakra control and kunai practice every once in a while. Kakashi wakes up to the sun peeking in through the blinds above their bed. Naruto is still asleep at his side, the nin looks over him adoringly, a smile finding its way to his lips. He was falling more in love with the blonde every single day, still insatiably attracted to everything about him. Kakashi pushes himself up from the bed, making his way out to the kitchen to start making them breakfast. Naruto joins him a short while later, rubbing his sleepy eyes with a pout on his face, "I don't like waking up and you not being beside me, Kashi." Kakashi gives the blonde an apologetic smile, "I'm sorry love, I will remember that for the future." He pulls the young man into his arms peppering gentle kisses all over his face, the pout quickly turning into a smile. "Here, sit, breakfast is ready." Kakashi smiled fondly at the blonde as he ate with his usual enthusiasm, "What do you say we go back to our waterfall today, love? We can leave early and spend the afternoon there. Maybe even pack up some gear and spend the night." Naruto nearly choked on the food in his mouth, coughing loudly when he was finally able to swallow it. "Wait… really? We are allowed to leave Fire Country?" Kakashi nodded, smiling at the blonde, "We are free to go wherever you'd like, I just have to inform the Sandaime of our intentions to travel outside the border and tell him our exact location." Naruto stared at him dumbfounded, his jaw hanging open, "I… you really mean it?" Kakashi chuckled at him, bringing his hand up to close the blonde's mouth, "Yes, love. What do you say? Want to go on an adventure?" Naruto nearly knocked his chair over from standing up too quickly, "Yes! Let's go right now!" Kakashi laughed at his excitement, quickly cleaning up their breakfast. "Alright, alright. You find our packs and grab us a change of clothes. I'll get some food ready to take with us." The blonde hastily made his way to the laundry room, retrieving their packs before sprinting down the hall to their bedroom. Kakashi shook his head with a grin, hurriedly preparing them some food. Gear all packed and ready to go, Kakashi quickly wrote out a report to the Sandaime detailing the destination and intended length of their trip. He summoned a hawk and sent it away, whistling for his hounds. "Are you boys ready to go on a trip?" The dogs jumped and barked happily around his feet. He captured Naruto's hand in his own, smiling back at the blonde who was bouncing on the balls of his feet with excitement. "Let's go."

The trip to the waterfall took no time at all, as Kakashi had mentioned when they were there previously, the place was very near to the farmhouse, just two hours north of the border. The area was as beautiful as Naruto remembered, the loud crashing of the falls and its cooling mist on his face bringing back the memories of their time spent here. They followed the lazy winding creek away from the waterfall, letting the hounds run about and play, burning off some energy, following it back up a few hours later. Now back at the waterfall they set up their tent and lit a fire, Naruto beaming brightly at his nin everytime he caught his eye. They sat in comfortable silence near the fire for a while, Kakashi had his back to a nearby tree with Naruto laying back against his chest. The nin was running his fingers lazily through the young man's hair, his other hand pressed to the blonde's chest, "Happy, love?" Naruto hummed and nodded, "This place is so beautiful, thank you for bringing me back here, Kashi." Pressing a kiss to the blonde's neck, Kakashi replied, "Any time love, anything you want." Naruto laughed lightly, "I want to go swimming." Kakashi smirked and pinched the blonde's nipple through the fabric of his shirt, earning a yelp, "Well then, let's go swimming." Naruto pulled away from him, swatting at his hand with a scowl. Kakashi laughed loudly as he pushed himself to his feet, stripping himself of all of his clothes, dipping a toe into the water to test its temperature before diving in. Naruto was still standing at the shore fully clothed when Kakashi popped back up out of the water. Kakashi watched as the blonde quickly shook his head, peeling off his clothes and quickly hopping into the water to join Kakashi. "Why the hesitation, love?" A blush was creeping up on the young man's cheeks, as he avoided Kakashi's eye. Kakashi gently grabbed him under the chin, making him look at him, waiting for a response. "It's just… seeing you entirely naked in the sunlight again… your hard, strong body." the blonde huskily whispered out, lust flaring in his eyes. Kakashi could feel his own cheeks start to flush at the blonde's admission, "Oh.." was all he managed to get out before the blonde launched himself into his arms, kissing at his lips hungrily. Kakashi led them backwards behind the curtain of the waterfall. They made loud passionate love there, hidden behind the crashing water. When they finally reemerged from behind the falls, the dogs were all settled around camp, keeping guard over them and their belongings. Kakashi caught the eyes of Pakkun who was seated near their tent, the dog was smirking at him. "What's so funny, Pakkun?" the dog chuckled, "You two clearly don't realize how loud you are." Kakashi laughed and turned to the blonde, watching as Naruto turned a bright shade of crimson. Groaning with embarrassment, the blonde slipped his head under the water to hide from the mirthful eyes of the hound. Kakashi pulled him back up from the water, pressing a hungry kiss to his lips, dipping his tongue into his mouth. Naruto moaned loudly into his mouth, arms quickly finding their way around the nin's shoulders. Kakashi pulled back with a smirk, "I think you're right Pakkun, we can be pretty loud huh." The blonde scowled at him, trying to break free from his arms so he could swat at him. Kakashi just laughed and held him tight, pressing warm kisses to his neck and face until the blonde eventually relented and kissed him back. Night was slowly starting to fall when they finally made their way out of the water. Kakashi strode confidently out of the water, drying himself off and wrapping a towel around his waist, while Naruto was more bashful. His cheeks blushing brightly as he cupped his groin and hurriedly collected his towel. Kakashi laughed and slapped the blonde's butt playful, "Don't be shy, love. The dogs and I have seen you naked plenty of times." Naruto growled at him, quickly wrapping his towel around his waist.

Both slipping into clean boxers, Kakashi fed the hounds their dinner, while Naruto added more wood to the fire and settled down in front of it. Kakashi unpacked their own food, bringing it with him as he made his way to the blonde's side. Naruto smiles brightly at him, his eyes shimmering in the firelight. Seeing the tears forming in the blonde's eyes, Kakashi puts the food down and collects the blonde in a side hug, "What's wrong, love?" Naruto shakes his head, tears finally spilling down his cheeks, "Nothings wrong…I'm just so happy Kashi. You make me so happy." Kakashi smiles affectionately at the blonde, pulling him up into his lap, hugging him tightly to his body, "You make me very happy too, love." He dusts soft kisses over the blonde wet cheeks before pressing a warm lingering kiss to his lips. Taking Naruto by the shoulders, he gently pushes him away to get a good look at his face. His eyes are shining brightly, still slightly wet, "You, okay?" Naruto nods, climbing from Kakashi's lap to sit back at his side. "Good. Here, we should eat and head to bed, it's getting pretty late."

Bellies full and the fire burning low, they crawl into their tent. Kakashi chuckled, remembering their first night in this tent, the awkwardness of how small it was and the tension and fear he could feel radiating from Naruto back then. So much had changed since that day, Naruto now cuddled up close to him, his head resting on the nin's chest. Kakashi tipped his head forward to bury his face in the young man's hair, breathing in deeply and pressing a kiss to the top of his head. He sighed happily, whispering, "Good night my little fox, I love you." Already falling asleep, Naruto squeezed Kakashi a little tighter, murmuring out, "I love you too, Kashi." Kakashi listened to the blonde quietly start to snore, a smile working its way to his lips as he closed his eye and fell asleep.
