This was ridiculous, you sat outside the middle school waiting for your brother. You glance in the mirror every so often to make sure Steve hadn't followed you down, not like it was out of his way that much seeing as the high school and middle school were connected. "God sake Dustin." You mutter. If he was going to blackmail you, he could at least show up. Getting out of the car, you ran a hand through your hair and sighed, deciding to go inside and find him. "Mrs Byers?" You said surprised as a car pulled up and parked in a rush. "Have you seen Will?" She asked as she met you on the steps. "No, I'm here to find Dustin, is everything okay?" You question as the pair of you headed into the school. Moving around you found Dustin in no time, who was looking for Will. "What is going on Dustin?" You demand to know. He was unable to answer as Lucas ran in saying Will was on the field.

Standing in a group around Will, you watched worriedly as Joyce tried to wake him up. It was something to do with the upside down, it had to be. What if he didn't wake up? The question ran through your head, again and again, you tried shaking the thought away hoping he'd wake up. Then he finally opened his eyes. Letting out a breath, you weren't aware you were holding, your shoulders dropped in relief. Walking the younger kids out with Joyce, you stood beside them and watched Joyce and Will go to the car. "Come on, I'll give you all a ride home." You said walking past them down the steps to the car, not looking to see if they were following you or not.

The damn upside down, it was back. Of course, it was, not like it was closed or anything. There could be more monsters coming out of it, without anyone knowing. Saying that though, they'd have to know. Owens ran the lab now, they'd know if something had come out. Your head was swimming as you drove, you didn't listen to your brother or his friends, just listened to Max when she told you the way to her house. You hoped Billy wouldn't be there, you didn't want to look like you were trying to win points with him.

Pulling up, you climbed out of your car and pulled the seat forward to let Max out. "Thanks for the ride Y/N." You smiled and nodded. "Thanks for helping my brother and his idiot friends." You said looking at her. "Max, there you are! Where have you been?" Looking up, you saw Billy coming out of the house, an annoyed look on his face. "I was checking out AV club, and Y/N gave me a ride home." Billy glared. "Get inside," he ordered before storming down to you.

You looked up at Billy and smiled. "No need to thank me." You said before turning to push the seat back into the correct place. He grabbed your arm and turned you to look at him. "If you think that getting close to Max is going to get you the part of my girlfriend, you have another thing coming." He growled. "Billy, are you coming back?" Looking up, you saw Tammy and scoffed as you pulled your arm away from him. "We might've fucked twice Billy, but both times were a mistake. I have no interest in you, I was being nice to my brother and his friends." You replied, then got into your car. "Have fun with the muppet." You said closing your door and reversing, leaving him standing there.

"The cheek of him!" You growled to yourself as you dropped off Lucas and Mike. You were furious with him, what a douchebag. "Why him? He's an asshole." Dustin's words pulled you from your thoughts. "I made a mistake… twice." You said, shaking your head. "He is an asshole, you're right." You said nodding. "Max seems nice though, you got a little crush?" You questioned with a smirk. "How did you-?" You chuckled and looked over at him. "You're my brother Dust, I know you and I saw the way you were acting. I'll warn you now though, someone always gets hurt in a love triangle and I hope it isn't you who does." You said gently. "She won't be able to resist me," Dustin said before growling and making you chuckle. "Beautiful confidence there little brother."

"I almost forgot!" You Looked at Dustin as he ran off to his room. "Dustin?" You called as you went after him. "Dart has been sitting under my hat for ages." He said as he took off his hat and put him into the tank. "What did the others think?" You asked, keeping away from the damn thing that creeped you out. "It's from the upside down." Your jaw clenched. "Get it out of here now, I don't want that thing in our house. Take it to Hopper." You said as you remembered the attack you, Nancy, Jonathan, and Steve endured last year. "What is it? A baby Demogorgon or something?" You asked, staring at it from where you stood.

You didn't wait for Dustin the next morning, you got to school and sat in the parking lot hoping to catch Nancy or Jonathan on the way in. You needed to talk to someone about the thing your brother had in his room. He wouldn't part with it, he was claiming that there was a connection between them, that fucking thing would eat someone and you knew it. Shuddering at the thought, you climbed out of the car and leaned on the hood as you looked for your friends. Billy pulled up a few minutes later and you waved at Max. "Morning." You said with a smile, one that dropped when you and Billy made eye contact.

"Hey Y/N," you turned your head to look at Billy. "I'm not interested in anything that you have to say." You said simply as you tucked hair behind your ear. "Fine." He snapped before storming off into the school leaving you confused as to why he even bothered to approach you. Sure you could tell yourself you weren't interested in him, but he was pretty great in bed and he had a nice ass. You couldn't help but glance after him, just to take a peek.

By the time the first bell had rung, you hadn't seen Nancy or Jonathan arrive. Letting out a huff, you went inside and stopped at your locker quickly. Where the hell was she? You couldn't help but wonder as you went to your first class, hopefully, she'd be in the second period you were in the same class so you'd be able to find her there. But she wasn't there, sitting looking around you leaned back and got the attention of someone you knew was in Jonathan's first-class and were informed that they'd not come in. "Where are you both?" You grumbled as the teacher arrived.

Eventually, you bit the bullet and went to the gym to speak to Steve. Standing in the doorway you watched Billy and Steve against each other, you weren't able to look away from the two handsome boys battling it out. Raking your lip through your teeth you swallowed hard watching contently, as Billy knocked down Steve you snapped out of your trance and sighed. "Steve?" You called as he got up. Your eyes met and Halloween night instantly played in your head as you remembered what he said to you. "Have you seen Nancy?" You asked quickly hoping to push aside the pain.

"Would you look at that Harrington, your little girlfriend is making up excuses to see you," Tommy said, causing you to look from Steve to him. "Why don't you shut your mouth Tommy, no one asked you." You growled. "You're pathetic Y/N, coming in here making up reasons to see Steve, he and Nancy broke up and he still doesn't want you." You tried to focus more on the insult than the fact that your friend and your crush had broken up, you took a breath and looked at Tommy. "I was looking for Nancy, I'm sure it's hard to understand seeing as you've never actually had a real friend. But then again, that is what bottom feeders do, is it not? First Steve, now Billy, whoever is popular in the school, you do whatever you can to get a few crumbs from them. The bumbling sidekick role is pathetic, it makes you look like a bigger loser than you already are." Turning around you walked out listening to him stumbling to find an insult to yell at you.

You skipped last period and went home early, you didn't want to be around anyone right now. You just got home and lay on your bed and closed your eyes, you tried to clear your mind, the only problem was so much had happened the last few days you couldn't turn it off. Steve, Billy, Dustin and his damn pet, Will, Jonathan and Nancy skipping school, it was so much and you were sure that a lot of it was to do with the upside down.

You must've fallen asleep because when you woke up your mother was calling the cat and Dustin was home. Getting up, you walked to your brother's room in time to hear him realise Dart had escaped. "This is why you should've taken him to Hopper!" You exclaim as you came into the room, hearing the noise of something eating you looked at Dustin and then moved toward the sound. "Oh my god, he ate the cat. Dustin, Dart ate the fucking cat." You exclaimed in a hushed panic tone. "Mom is looking for the cat, we'll we fucking found it." You said pointing to it. "We need to get this thing out of our house, now!" You growled under your breath.

"It's going to be alright, it's just Dart." He said looking at the slimy thing on the floor as it suddenly sprouted legs. "Right, that is it. I'm going to call in everyone and we're going to get this thing to Hopper, right now!" You told him as you looked at the now four-legged Dart. "It's carnivorous Dustin, it needs to go." As you tried to reason with your brother you watched as Dart looked up at the pair of you, and its head opened like the Demogorgon. "Fuck!"
