Chapter Three

She sat on either end of her plush queen bed. Texting Goro and Shuichi, listening to music/ Studying meditation, martial arts, and law textbooks. 'Kin' tossed aside the phone and threw herself on her back. Gazing up, painted on the ceiling was the head and neck of a giraffe peeking down at her. An 8th grade graduation gift from her mother. Her room was always very quiet, there wasn't any need to speak aloud. All her thoughts simply flew between both her minds. For any average individual it'd be like a hurricane of maddening thoughts. At 3pm today, she would pretend to be sisters. 'Amaya' would meet Shuichi and Goro for the first time.

She hummed to the playlist that played through 'Kin's' headphones. Eventually she stood up and danced with herself to the music. After lunch, Mom read the questions while she helped clean up the table and kitchen. It was impossible to quiz herself when she could see all the answers on her flashcards. Whichever body was closer would answer, out of habit excitedly through 'Kin' and formally through 'Amaya'.

By 2pm she was showered, dressed, and packing necessities into her backpacks. "Have fun my beautiful dolls! I love you." She waved and chimed good lucks and love you back to her mother.

She strolled silently side by side. The sky was brilliant. The winds blowing lightly, the movement in the trees creating an inspiring mood. Which as fate would have it, was the opportunity a huge bug was waiting for. With great determination it charged to whap her right in the middle of the forehead! Honestly nature!?/ It's so ugly! She squeaked while violently battling the freakish thing. A figure watched from in the dark depths of an alley. The odd movement of shadows caught her attention. Not him… /He's back. She pretended to give herself an excuse. 'Kin' quickly and cheerfully accepted the apology. Waved and ran off. I should find some help. /I should learn more about this creep.

When 'Kin' was out of sight 'Amaya' crossed her arms and leaned against the shop behind her. Staring straight ahead at the stalker. She didn't so much as blink despite his angry stomping and waving her over. He finally gave up and trudged over grumbling and tearing at his neck. She greeted him dryly with a nod. "You're really stubborn! Where do you think you're going! I'm leading!" She stood straight and tall, taking the lead ignoring his complaining. Eventually he begrudgingly ran to catch up with her.

"What is this? This is a random choice. You don't hang out in these places!"

"You have been stalking me then." To test him wasn't the reason she chose it though. 'Amaya' never had friends after school. This was the first place to come to mind. As 'Kin' she came often with friends. Everyone had enjoyed their time and food here with her. Although as 'Amaya' she couldn't taste anything.

"We're going to take a seat in the back. I don't want people to hear our conversation." He was clearly uncomfortable, as they sat down he spoke again. "You graduate, tomorrow don't you?"

His voice is so raspy.../ Does he know what day it is? "I actually graduated Friday, today is Sunday. Shigaraki."

"You're mocking me! and don't say my name in public..."

A woman walked up to the table, "Good Afternoon. On a date? May I start you two off with drinks?"

"Just water, leave us alone."

"I see, you're really a lucky boy." She tried hard to smile at him. His appearance isn't much of a welcoming sight.

"We are not dating. Get lost."

"I'm sorry, I'll get your waters."

Until the waiter left the both were quiet. Then 'Amaya' faced Shigaraki again. "Put your hands down."

"What?"

"You're bleeding."

"...Does it scare you?... I'm not going to listen to you."

"Very well, but it attracts more attention than not. Are we going to talk more about your gang?"

"...Yes. You have a powerful quirk, perfect for my cause."

"What is your cause?"

"To, make society, realize, all the, flaws of the heroes."

Box of candied words, he took to many pauses. "I don't follow, explain."

"You're naïve!"

"So why couldn't Amaya come?" Goro was busy folding and didn't glance up as he asked the question.

"Her teacher called."

"Oh, she has summer school?"

"No, Amaya's training with Mr. Shimizu to get into U.A. She won't miss the whole day though. You'll still get to meet her."

"Absolutely perfect!" Goro declared, half as an answer to 'Kin', half as praising himself for yet another perfect origami. Kin glanced up from her book. A turkey, go figure.

Shuichi grumbled as he crushed his in his hand. "Who's Amaya?" He began analyzing the green colored pencils. Expertly coloring the ribbons and bonnet on the 'little parasol girl' page.

"Kin's sister. They're twins. But you said you look different right Kin? And U.A. huh? That's the best of the best hero schools." He snatched another colorful square paper. "I'll make you a bookmark. What are you reading? Blue is your favorite color."

"Botchan, by Natsume Soseki. I had to read it in class once. I liked it so I'm going to buy it before we leave the book shop. Pft! Botchan is beating grasshoppers out of his bed with his pillow!" She noticed Shuichi grab another sheet of origami paper. "You going to try again?" Amusement in her voice. He wrote something on it, then a faint glow erased whatever he had written because when she leaned over the table to see, nothing was there.

"Yup." Was the short honest answer from Goro. Shuichi gasped and growled low.

What could they be talking about?

Goro grinned, "Wan'a bet." He stated simply. Clearly not actually asking.

Shuichi scribbled ferociously. The paper flashed this time and he trust himself back from the table to slump in the chair and crossed his arms.

Boys.

Goro hummed amused, "You can't really beat me at this point." He creased the last fold. "Here Kin!" Smiling proudly yet knowingly. His tail fanning out as he handed to her. A tiny origami dragon perched at the top of the bookmark.

'Kin's' eyes sparkled. "It's so cute! And it's blue! wow, you're amazing!" She tucked the bookmark carefully in her page. "Next time, chapter five! I'm getting hungry, hm, I want some sort of sweet snack. What about you two?" She began tidying the origami paper and coloring sheets back on the 'free' shelf.

Shuichi shot out his seat. "I know the coolest popsicle place! It's my favorite, I know you'll love it!"

"Basically, you believe heroes 'disregard' the most important people. You want to 'expose' the heroes for their, 'indifference' and 'errors'. 'Eliminate' citizens 'ignorance' and 'false' sense of security. The playing field should be more 'even'." Very well. I suppose, some of that makes sense. /What an odd way of describing it. /His words most... probably have a very different meaning.

"Hey, that's enough time to think this over isn't it!?"

He just seems frustrated with the world. "How many share your view?"

He chuckled low with a bitter smile. "Enough to overwhelm All Might. Are you on board?"

His first straight forward answer. "Perhaps, but I'd like to know my part to play in all this."

"Your part, is, easy, but not important yet. Besides, I don't know yet how much I can trust you."

"What sort of proof do you want?"

"We'll talk more about that the next time. We're going to meet somewhere different though."

I'm obviously draining his patience. "In a public place Shigaraki. No exceptions."

"... Fine."

'Kin' swayed happily as they walked down the block. "There were so many flavors! All right Shuichi, you're fantastic! My new favorite place!"

Goro took her arm and swayed with her almost making them loose balance. "Do you think your sister would like the Umeboshi popsicle we bought." He grabbed Shuichi for support.

"Woah! Uncool!" He grabbed Goro's wrist and gave a harsh tug. The three looked like an accordion as they swung back into Shuichi and into a wall. People walking by burst into laughter. 'Kin' stumbled back and dusted off. "Yeah, I'm glad you spotted it."

'Amaya' lunged out from around the corner. "Yes, it sounds tasty. Thank you Goro." Her voice wasn't out of breath or strained but was not enthusiastic either.

Goro's hands flew over his head. "Woah! Where did you- who!?"

"Holy cr-eam soda!... Uh, um... Cool, you're Amaya? I'm Shuichi." He recovered from his surprise quickly and put two and two together. While Goro was stuck with a deer in the headlights look making noises.

'Amaya': "Yes, I apologize. Training was long. I'm Kin's sister Amaya Kobayashi. My pleasure to finally meet you."

Goro: "You really do look so different from your sister, wow Kin."

Shuichi: "You haven't told us much anything about Amaya. I'd never guess you two were twins."

'Kin': "Yup, I'd say it isn't possible to mix us up."

Goro: "Not anything like I imagined either."

Now what is that supposed to mean?/If anyone but Goro says that I will kick them.

'Amaya': "Where should we spend the rest of the time we have?"

Shuichi: "The old park with all the tall pines and the crab apple tree. It's pretty close to here. Next to the street that leads to the highway."

'Amaya'/'Kin': "Great idea."

Goro: "No way, you have that twins curse!"
