Chapter 1: Awakening
The day after my sister was hit by the bey, news spread like wildfire. False rumors started to form and parents were concerned about the safety of blading. The WBBA assured the parents that blading was still safe and made additional measurements to playing the game itself. Due to this uproar, the tournament nearby and other tournaments were stopped. Although many still love the game, many were scared to play it again due to the thought of them being in the hospital with injuries.
After a week, the sudden cancellation of tournaments was eventually revoked and it was back in business. Sadly, it was a whole new and different tournament than before. Safety was the priority for this one, and it was obvious why. There were parents all over the place, watching their kids play the game. I thought that blading was supposed to be fun not boring. I rushed to a staff member and asked where I can sign up to play in the tournament. She pointed at a stand and i began to fill out some forms for playing. My sister came beside me and said "This has gotten way out of hand, you sure you want to play?". I said that i've never been so sure of anything in my life. The tournament would start in 3 hours, in that moment I knew... I KNEW that i had to prove to everyone that blading was still safe. And in order to do that, i need my brothers bey, Wing Accel Valkyrie to be specific.
I rushed home and asked my mom where my brother kept his old beys at. She said to look for his trophy case up stairs. I was wondering why he still kept his old beys even if its broken or not as powerful as his new bey. But still, i knew my bey wasn't powerful enough to reach the top... I didn't mean to disrespect it or anything but his first bey was more powerful. After a minute of trying to unlock his trophy case i finally got his oldest bey. "Wing Accel Valkyrie" what a name ain't it? I called my brother and asked if I can keep it, suprisingly he said yes and I was on my way to rock this tournament.
The Beginning of the Tournament
This was it! My tournament debut was supposed to be years ago! But I refused to participate in it because i thought blading with my friends is more fun. Turns out that thought wasn't gonna last forever. My first opponent, Yuki Endo... He has a powerful bey named Blizzard Ifrid, i faced him once before and i was completely destroyed. But now things were different, and i have a mission to do. "Fancy seeing you here, Toko Aoi" he said with a narcissistic tone. I ignored him with the embarrassment that i had to face him in my first launch. "Ignoring me huh? Well this'll end pretty quickly. Say hi to your sister for me.". The match started and the referee instructed us to inspect each others bey. He was completely shocked when he saw what he was up against. His bey has a sphere shaped tip, like Wyvern. I figured i was gonna go up against something powerful... A new move. We finished checking each others bey and began to take out stances. I was nervous because i haven't even practiced with this bey once. Speaking of practice I completely forgot to do it! Oh well, I'll try my best I guess. Here goes my brothers famous move!
"3 2 1! LET IT RIP!"
And the match was underway, I tilted my launcher a little bit trying to get the angle of the incline of the stadium. Blizzard Ifrid was already in the middle as i expected. "Woah! What a start to the first round! Blizzard Ifrid (Last years 2nd runner up) and his partner Yuki Endo is going up against Valt Aois younger brother with his old bey Wing Accel Valkyrie! Lets hope his younger brother knows how he fights! Cause this is gonna be a cold battle!". They don't even know my name? Oh well... "Valkyrie! Rush launch here we go!" Valkyrie swoops in at supersonic speed, now i know what rush I wanted to feel. "Just as i predicted" Yuki said, I wasn't fazed because I was lying about the rush launch. I started out with my own special move the Super Sonic Attack. "What?" He was completely shocked by the stunt i pulled. My Super Sonic Attack was different from Valt's it was much more stable and a lot more faster than his Rush Launch. As Ifrid was starting to wobble it unleashed its best defense move yet. Just as i had expected, he has a new move. "This isn't over yet! Go, Final Fort!" his bey immediately started spinning crazily around the stadium. What was he planning all along? Suddenly, his bey was behind mine. And it pushed it outside the stadium, it flew through the air as i was speechless about what happened. This cant be...
"I told you, you're not winning this tournament. This time its my turn, and I'll show the world what defense types are really capable of" I picked up my bey and said i was sorry. I know what you're thinking, pretty weird huh? But it's our bond, we talk and solve our problems. This time I'll launch a full force attack. My so called, not even safe Speed Mirage Launch. I took my position and posed like Shu but my wrist's was as tight as Valt's. This is it, my best effort yet.
"3 2 1! LET IT RIP!"
My bey immediately advanced to the rim of the stadium, almost immediately it picked up so much speed. And as for Ifrid, in the middle as i predicted. Yuki was composed this time watching my every move. I took a deep breath and blurted out "Speed Mirage Launch!" the announcer was confused. "Speed Mirage Launch? Isn't a speed mirage a copy of something after it goes so fast? Hold onto your seats people, cause Valkyrie may be going into Super Hyperdrive!". As my bey span faster and faster Yuki was sweating and panicking. Because in his mind he was worried that his bey wasn't going to push through. Here goes nothing! My bey came out of the stadiums rims and it looked as if they were two! My launch actually worked! Valkyrie then proceeded to do the Rush Launch but with two appearing this time. Ifrid was sure to burst with this launch. Faster and faster, my bey went crazy not stopping a single bit! 'Final Fort! Ifrid hang on!" I smirked at him, as I was preparing to win i began to feel that certain rush again. I began to resonate with bright and bold bluish colors, Yuki also had that glow only this time it was white. So this is the feeling of blading huh? "Go! Valkyrie!" "Not if we can stop it! Defend, Ifrid!" our beys clashed with sparks flying everywhere, it continued... Every hit sent shock waves around the stadium. Our beys was going for its final hit, with sparks and determination in our hearts... Until suddenly... BOOM! Ifrid bursted right in the middle. "Unbelievable! Valkyrie pushed through!" The crowd went wild and chanted "Toko, Toko, Toko!" I picked up Valkyrie and thanked it.
After that, we returned home. To out surprise, Valt came back. "Nice one lil buddy. You really kicked butt back there.' I thanked him and he replied with "Take care of Valkyrie ok? Always check up on her.". We ate dinner and went to bed. It was quite a successful day, but i have no idea how to convince people that blading is still safe. Maybe i only need to blade? Maybe i don't need to do this? That was what i thought... After thinking so much i began to fall asleep. I decided to just aim for the top, and I'll do the convinving along the way.
