Chapter 15: Just You and Me
Rays of sunlight shone through the window in Doramen's bedroom. Doramen was laying in his bed, fast asleep. He was blissfully unaware of what time it was, for he was too busy dreaming about—
Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!
"Gah!"
Doramen jerked awake, startled. He looked over at the nightstand beside his bed, where an alarm clock was going off. Huffing, he smacked it until its annoying beeping stopped.
Doramen tossed the blanket off his legs and slid off the bed. Normally he'd sleep in pretty late on Saturdays, but he had big plans today, and he wanted to get an early start.
He headed to his kitchen and made himself some cereal. His mind was racing too much for him to comfortably sit down and eat, so he paced back and forth while holding the bowl.
Let's see, what do I need to do before I head out? I'm eating right now, so that's off the list. I still need to take a shower and comb my fur. The shower will be quick, but the combing might take a while… Gosh, I hope I won't be late!
His heart pounded anxiously as he tried to eat his cereal as fast as he could. He was paranoid about being late and wanted to get everything done as soon as possible. It only took him a couple minutes to empty the bowl, and as soon as he did he tossed it carelessly into the sink to be washed later.
Anxiety motivated him to rush into the shower without any hesitation or second thoughts. He couldn't even wait for the water to warm up, which turned out to be a big mistake. Now he stood in the shower, shivering with only his chest and belly being wet, as he waited for the water to get to a comfortable temperature. As rushed and panicked as he was, he couldn't take a cold shower even if his life depended on it.
Once the water got warm, he immediately got to work getting himself as clean as he could, taking time to scrub aggressively. His fur was a bit thick, which meant that it took longer to clean. After he was done scrubbing, he got out and only dried himself to the point where his fur wasn't dripping wet anymore, and then swiftly moved on to the next step.
Thankfully for him, he didn't have to worry about picking out an outfit to wear. Instead, he stayed in the bathroom and brushed his teeth, once again taking time to do a really thorough job despite how rushed and panicked he was. As he brushed, he stared intensely at his reflection in the mirror.
You're gonna be late if you don't hurry, he thought to himself.
The only thing he had left to do was comb his fur, which was basically his version of getting dressed. In order to save time, there were a few areas he didn't comb, like his neck since it was covered by his collar. The areas he did comb came out looking soft and smooth. Now it was time to head out.
…
Doramen knocked on the door and anxiously waited for a response. His heart raced as he heard shuffling noises coming from the other side.
I hope I made it in time…, he thought, trying not to get scared.
The door opened, and Doramen couldn't help but grin despite all his anxiety.
"H-hi Doraemon," he greeted shyly.
Doraemon, who looked just as neat and clean as Doramen did, grinned back.
"Hey Doramen. You ready to go on our date?" he asked cheerfully.
All of Doramen's anxiety and nervousness melted away. Doraemon didn't yell at him, which told him he made it on time.
"You bet I am!" he beamed.
Doraemon stepped outside and pulled out his Anywhere Door.
"To the park!" he exclaimed, opening the door.
He stepped through it, Doramen following. The two robot cats looked around at their surroundings in awe. The grass was green, the birds were singing, and the sun was shining. It was a beautiful day, perfect for a date.
"It's so nice out here," Doramen said in awe.
"Indeed it is. This is perfect for our date!" Doraemon cheered, clearly excited.
The two robot cats took another moment to look around before Doramen decided it was time to get started.
"So Doraemon, what do you wanna do first?" he asked, deciding not to mention he already had a plan.
Doraemon giggled excitedly. Without saying a word, he reached into his pocket and pulled out two Hopters (Takecopters/Bamboo Copters). Doramen stared at them curiously.
"Hopters? What are you wanting to do with them?" he asked.
"I want to play," Doraemon answered, holding one out for his lover to take.
Doramen did so, unsure of how he's supposed to interpret that.
Surely Doraemon means he just wants to mess around, right? he wondered.
"What do you mean by 'play'?" he asked as he put the Hopter on his head.
Doraemon didn't respond. He put the other Hopter on his head and flew up a few feet.
"Let's play tag!" he called, waving.
Doramen suddenly felt much more enthusiastic.
Tag, huh? So that's what he means by wanting to play. I can get behind that! he thought.
"Who's gonna be 'it' first?" he asked, flying up beside his lover.
Doraemon tapped Doramen on his arm.
"Tag, you're it!" he jeered before abruptly flying away.
"What the- Hey!" Doramen called, flying after him.
He was initially angry at Doraemon for randomly tagging him and then leaving, but the feeling of chasing his lover through the skies made his adrenaline start pumping. He grinned, determined to catch Doraemon and tag him.
Doraemon looked behind him at Doramen and made a silly face to tease him. Doramen sped up, gaining on Doraemon surprisingly quickly. Doraemon noticed how close the red robot cat was getting and sped up as well. He flew higher and started taking turns randomly to try and throw Doramen off. However, Doramen used the turns to his advantage, cutting across the sky to intercept him. By the time Doraemon noticed, Doramen was in arm's reach.
"Tag, you're it!" Doramen cheered, giggling.
He flew off in the opposite direction as soon as he spit his words out. Doraemon chased after him, laughing maniacally in a silly manner.
As Doramen flew around, he couldn't believe how much adrenaline was rushing through him. He had no idea the feeling of being chased would cause such a huge energy boost, especially since he and Doraemon were just playing.
In an attempt to get farther away from Doraemon, he decided to fly back down into the park. He narrowly avoided trees and picnic tables, which only made his adrenaline increase. When he was clear of obstacles for the moment, he glanced behind him, only to scream. Doraemon was literally a few inches behind him, reaching out to try and tag him. When Doraemon realized he'd scared the crap out of Doramen, he stopped dead and started laughing. Doramen stopped as well and crossed his arms, waiting for him to stop.
"I'm sorry, I just… your scream! I-I didn't think I was gonna scare you like that!" Doraemon said as he continued to laugh.
Doramen chuckled, smiling warmly. Doraemon's laugh was one of his favorite sounds.
"I didn't think you were gonna be right there! How did you get so close?" Doramen asked.
"I stayed above the trees until I thought I was close enough to get you from above," Doraemon answered once he calmed down.
"Wow, that's smart. If you'd just waited a liiiiittle longer to come down, you definitely would've caught me off guard and tagged me."
"I know! I was so dang close!"
Doramen playfully punched Doraemon's shoulder.
"That's what you get for scaring me!" he said.
"Meanie!" Doraemon giggled, punching back.
The two robot cats suddenly commenced a game of playfully punching each other back and forth. Both wanted to get the last punch, resulting in a loop of hitting and giggling. It started with the shoulders, but soon they started hitting each other all over. It quickly escalated into a near cat fight. The two robot cats turned their heads away and began to wildly swing their arms around in hopes of hitting each other virtually anywhere, all while laughing.
"D-Doramen..!"
Doramen stopped at Doraemon's voice. He looked up at the yellow robot cat to see him blushing.
"Y-your paw…," Doraemon murmured.
Doramen looked down to where his paw had finally touched Doraemon and just about had a heart attack. His paw was touching Doraemon's waist area, right where the white on his belly stops. He flinched, pulling his paw away.
When he looked back up at Doraemon, he was surprised to see no anger in the yellow robot cat's expression. Doraemon just stared at him, blushing. Doramen blushed as well, fiddling his paws awkwardly.
"D-D-Doraemon, I… I'm really sorry, I didn't mean to touch you there. I should've been paying more attention to where my paws were going," he said, flattening his ears.
Doraemon continued to look embarrassed for a few moments before gradually smiling and perking up.
"It's okay, I know it was an accident," he replied.
"I understand if you want to go home, or slap me," Doramen said.
"No, let's get back to tag. I'm still 'it', remember?"
Doramen nodded and flew off, looking behind him to confirm that Doraemon was chasing him. He went back above the park and flew around, but it didn't feel the same.
I probably made him really uncomfortable… Ugh, I'm such an idiot! Why did I just flail my arms around like that? I could've hit him in the face, or even lower than that…
His blush swiftly returned, much darker than before. He shook his head, trying to shake the thought away, but found it difficult.
Filthy pervert! You're on a nice date with Doraemon, you shouldn't be thinking about that kind of stuff! Wait 'till Dorami hears about this…
…
Doramen and Doraemon ended up playing tag for a while longer before they both got tired, and decided it was time to take a break. However, instead of them staying in the park, Doramen insisted on them going to Doraemon's house. Doraemon was confused and a bit disappointed by this, but relented. The two arrived there via Anywhere Door, where Doraemon immediately gave in to his curiosity.
"Hey Doramen, why did you want to come here?" he asked, watching Doramen pace back and forth around the kitchen.
Doramen was silent for an uncomfortably long amount of time, shifting his feet repeatedly and looking all around the room.
"Let's go to the bedroom," he said finally, making eye contact with Doraemon.
"The bedroom?" Doraemon echoed, confused. "Why there? There's nothing fun we can do in there."
"Yes there is. I have an idea."
Doramen turned around and walked down a hallway without waiting for a response. Having been in Doraemon's house numerous times by now, he already knew where the bedroom was. Doraemon followed him curiously, wondering what his lover had in store.
Doramen climbed onto Doraemon's bed and grabbed one of his pillows. He stared into Doraemon's eyes with a strangely blank expression.
"We can have a pillow fight," he said, gently squeezing the pillow.
"Oh, I didn't even think about that. That's a great idea!" Doraemon replied, also getting on the bed.
In the back of his mind, he couldn't help but think that Doramen's idea was strangely specific. Despite that, he happily got another pillow and prepared to "fight" Doramen. The two sat on their knees across from each other, locking eyes.
"Go!" Doramen exclaimed, immediately charging at Doraemon.
Doraemon was a little caught off guard from the lack of a countdown, and thus was not able to prepare fast enough. Doramen stuck him swiftly on the side of the head. Doraemon let out a little noise in reflex, although the contact didn't hurt at all. He swung hard, barely hitting Doramen's chest as he retreated to get out of Doraemon's range.
Giggling, Doraemon charged at Doramen, hitting him several times in the face. Doramen gagged a little, trying not to get any of the pillow's case in his mouth. He swung back, but his pillow collided with Doraemon's.
"You're good!" Doramen said, trying to swing again.
This time he managed to get some of his pillow to go under Doraemon's, hitting him in his right knee. Doraemon responded by once again hitting Doramen in the face. Doramen thrust his pillow upwards, nearly knocking Doraemon's pillow out of his paws. This left Doraemon vulnerable, and thus Doramen whacked him two times in his belly. Once Doraemon recovered his grip on his pillow, he tried to hit Doramen in the head, but Doramen was able to just barely avoid it.
Doramen grew bored of being on his knees, so he decided to make the game more interesting. He cautiously stood up, towering over Doraemon. Doraemon smirked and stood up as well, the bed shaking a little from his clumsy steps as he tried to get his balance on the mattress.
Now the true battle began. Doramen and Doraemon stepped towards each other and began acting like they were in a sword battle. One cat would repeatedly try to attack the other while they would use their pillow to block. Doraemon was the first one to attack, and he was surprised at how many times he successfully hit Doramen. It was very clear that Doramen was not that good at blocking.
Then, Doramen turned the tables and began to attack Doraemon, getting a few successful blows before Doraemon was able to start blocking. The amount of hits and blocks were fairly even, with Doraemon doing a good job at blocking Doramen's stronger blows, and Doramen able to get in a few weaker hits around areas of Doraemon's body that were harder to block, like his legs.
As the battle continued, Doraemon switched back to being the attacker. He began to swing very hard, the pillow making a fairly loud noise whenever it made contact with anything. Doramen began to feel playfully afraid of Doraemon, and tried his best to block better. He could feel his arms getting tired from waving his pillow all over the place to block Doraemon's aggressive attacks.
Doraemon somehow managed to repeatedly hit Doramen in the head with his powerful blows. Doramen groaned a little, feeling a minor headache coming on from the force of the hits. He was starting to get out of breath, and he could tell that Doraemon was the same.
"Okay okay, I surrender!" he exclaimed breathlessly, dropping to his knees.
He let go of his pillow and learned forward onto his paws, panting. Doraemon sat down, also panting.
"I defeated you!" he declared.
"You sure did. Good job," Doramen praised, smiling.
Doraemon let out a deep sigh and laid down on his back as he tried to catch his breath. As he did so, he didn't notice Doramen staring at him. Doramen watched Doraemon's chest rise up and down rapidly with a blank expression. His panting began to slow down as he crawled over to Doraemon on all fours. He casually laid down on his side beside Doraemon and continued to stare at him.
It was then that Doraemon noticed him.
"What are you doing?" he asked.
"Admiring you," Doramen answered.
Doraemon blushed a little.
"Admiring me?" he echoed.
"Yeah. Your body is so nice," Doramen murmured, almost appearing to be lost in thought.
"Oh, uhh… thank you."
Doraemon shifted his position a little, feeling a bit flustered by the sudden complement. He looked into Doramen's eyes, surprised to see that Doramen's gaze was indeed scanning his body.
Why is he acting like this all of a sudden? Doraemon wondered. He's never complimented my body like that before...
"That was a great idea you had. Pillow fights are so much fun," he said in an attempt to break the awkward silence.
"Yeah. I'm glad I thought of it," Doramen answered.
His gaze didn't falter. Now Doraemon was starting to feel a little uncomfortable.
"Doramen, why are you staring at me?" he asked, trying not to accuse his lover, but also wanting a direct answer.
"Because your body is nice," Doramen repeated.
"You've never said that before."
Doramen finally made eye contact with Doraemon, although it only lasted a moment before his gaze dropped down to the mattress. There was a moment of silence as Doramen thought about how to respond.
"Sorry. I don't know what got into me," he murmured.
"Is something bothering you?" Doraemon asked.
More silence followed. Doramen's gaze shifted between Doraemon's body and the mattress several times.
"You know Doraemon, we're technically still on our date," he said in a sudden change of topic.
"Yeah, and?" Doraemon asked.
Doramen suddenly scooted closer to Doraemon and brought him into an embrace. He looked into Doraemon's eyes with a flirtatious smile.
"It's just you and me here. We can do whatever you want," he said softly.
"Oh, uhh… yeah, I guess you're right…," Doraemon mumbled, blushing darkly.
"There's nobody around who can interrupt us."
Doramen leaned his head on Doraemon's chest and closed his eyes.
"I can hear your heartbeat," he whispered. "It's a beautiful sound."
"Thank you…," Doraemon murmured.
He didn't really know how to respond to Doramen's behavior. Should he be flattered? Embarrassed? Uncomfortable? ...Aroused? He had no idea what to do.
"Why are you doing this?" he challenged.
"Because I love you," Doramen answered casually as he continued to listen to Doraemon's heart.
"You've never acted like this before. What's going on with you?"
"I love you."
Doraemon sighed.
"What do you want?" he asked.
"I want you," Doramen answered, finally making eye contact with Doraemon.
Doraemon blinked at him.
"I'm right here," he pointed out, confused.
Doramen averted his gaze, hesitating.
"I want your love," he mumbled.
"My love?" Doraemon echoed. "But… I've given you my love, haven't I? Am I not being a good boyfriend?"
"You're doing just fine. What I mean is… I want something more."
"You… want to get married?"
Doramen was silent for a moment, which only made Doraemon more confused.
"No. But, we don't have to be married to enjoy each other's company," Doramen said.
Doraemon finally had enough and sat up, forcing Doramen to back away.
"I don't understand, Doramen," he said sternly.
He looked into Doramen's eyes. The red robot was yearning for something.
"What do you want, Doramen?" Doraemon asked softy.
Doramen got up on his paws and knees and crawled back up to Doraemon, their faces mere inches apart.
"I love you so much, Doraemon. I want to show you how much I love you. I… I want to go farther. I want to show you a whole new world of love and passion," he explained.
Doraemon just stared at him curiously.
"I want… I want to please you. I want to make you so, so, happy. We're better than those filthy humans, and I'll prove it. I'll make you feel better than you ever have in your entire life!" Doramen continued.
Doraemon blushed darkly. Now he was finally starting to understand.
"Doramen, I… I don't know…," he murmured, fiddling his paws in uncertainty.
"Let me show you what I'm capable of. You won't regret it, I promise. I won't stop until you're happy," Doramen insisted.
Doraemon was silent for several moments as he thought hard about it.
"It's just you and me here," Doramen reminded him in a soft, sensual tone.
"This isn't how I want our date to end," Doraemon admitted. "We barely spent any time at the park."
"Who said we had to stop after this?"
Doraemon averted his gaze, not responding. Finally, he sighed.
"I'm curious about what you said, about making me happy," he murmured, still feeling uncertain.
Doramen smirked and once again brought Doraemon in an embrace, looking deep into his eyes.
"Then allow me to show you what I mean."
