"Woohoo! What a find for me!"
Marino's face lit up as he gazed with wide eyes at what he held in his gloved hands.
The Italian plumber had just completed another adventure. He had found something unusual in his travels which he had taken home with him to Mushroom Kingdom. Now he was observing it in all its glory, a huge smile on his moustached face at the sight of it.
"It's-a chocolate egg!"
Sure enough, what Mario was holding was a large egg - made entirely out of chocolate. He had not seen such a thing during any of his quests before. He had gathered lots of coins and mushrooms - but never a chocolate egg. He had taken it with him upon finding it, keeping it safe for the rest of his journey. Now that he had defeated Bowser, recused Princess Peach and saved the day, he was ready to reward himself with this tasty goodie.
"A whole chocolate egg!" Mario grinned, preparing to bite into the treat. "And it's-a mine! All mine!"
Right at that moment, something long and sticky shot out and stuck onto the egg. It swiftly pulled it clear out of Mario's hands. His smile instantly vanished as he looked up in horror - to see it disappear through the jaws of the egg thief who was stealing from him.
"Yoshi! That's-a bad boy! Bad Yoshi!"
Unfazed by Mario yelling at him, Yoshi smiled. His cheeks were bulging from having the large chocolate egg inside his mouth. He had just used his long tongue to swipe it away from Mario, pulling it past his own lips to eat it himself.
"Drop it!" Mario demanded, wanting his treat back from his reptilian sidekick. "Drop the egg! Drop it, Yoshi!"
Yoshi took no notice. Instead of releasing the egg from inside his mouth, he swallowed it in one gulp, causing it to descend from his jaws into his stomach.
"Hey!" Mario's high-pitched voice was filled with outrage at seeing his chocolate egg which he had found and taken home with him getting devoured by this little green pest. "Gimme it back, Yoshi! Gimme the egg right now!"
Yoshi nodded - and pulled an egg up into view before hurling it in Marino's direction.
It was not, however, the chocolate egg he had stolen from the plumber.
It was a proper egg which Yoshi always laid upon eating something - to throw at his enemies.
Marino's jaw dropped, but before he could do anything to move, the real egg that had been lobbed at him struck him hard in the face. It bounced off the Italian's round nose, causing it to go larger than usual as it throbbed and turned purple from being hit.
"Mamma Mia!" Mario groaned, staggering on his feet for a few moments before crumpling to the floor, falling unconscious from being hit in the face by Yoshi's egg.
