A/N: There might be a little tension between Adrien and his father, but as we all know, it hardly goes well between them.

Chapter Three: Wondering If They Can Go

Later that evening, Marinette had her folks sitting in the living room. She had told them of what had transpired earlier and they looked amongst each other. Tom looked to his daughter and asked, "Are you wanting to go?"

"I mean, I would love to go and see it, but I know that I have duties here." Marinette said, thinking of her responsibilities as Ladybug. Then she pointed out, "Plus, you might be needing help with the bakery and all."

"Well, to be honest, we don't exactly have anything big coming up, sweetheart." Tom admitted with a shake of his head. Sabine agreed by saying, "As long as you're safe, I don't see why you couldn't go with your friends and all them."

"After all, Mr. Masrani did say it was all expenses paid." Tom pointed out. Seeing that she already had permission from her parents, Marinette got up and said, "I think I'll continue to think about it.

"I'm at least going to take a quick walk while I think about it." Marinette said before walking out the door.

When she found herself outside, she opened her purse and let Tikki come out. The teen seemed a little worried when she asked, "Oh, Tikki, what am I going to do? I do want to go on this trip, but what about my duties as Ladybug? I can't just abandon them, especially if Hawk Moth akumatizes someone."

"Why not talk to Master Fu again like for that other trip." Tikki suggested. Then she pointed out, "After all, he did lend you the horse Miraculous that one time in case of an emergency. Plus, it'll help since it seems like this place is a lot further than London."

"That's true." Marinette agreed with her. With a nod she agreed, "Okay, let's do it."

Looking to see if anyone was watching, Marinette hid herself behind a sign before saying, "Tikki, Spots On!"

A pink light flashed over her and once again turned her into Ladybug. She whipped out her yo-yo before zipping off to find the Guardian of the Miraculous.

Elsewhere at the Agreste Estate, Adrien was sitting at a table in the dining room with his father sitting at the other end. They too were currently going over what Simon Masrani had said. Gabriel said, "I'm not too sure about you going on this trip, Adrien.

"After all, I do think about what happened with the first park that John Hammond himself tried to build." He pointed out the incident of 1993. Adrien understood his father's worries and said, "I do understand of why you're worried. But I did read that Simon took extra precautions to ensure the guests' safety."

"Hmm." Gabriel said, as if thinking about it. Adrien then said, "Plus, there is a part of the sheet that has a spot for chaperones. And I was kind of hoping that you would come with us."

Gabriel wasn't too surprised to here Adrien ask for him to come, seeing that the boy was wanting to spend more time with him. Gabriel scooted his chair out before saying, "If you would give me some time to think about it. I'll talk to Nathalie for a bit and get back to you on the matter."

"Yes, Father." Adrien said as he looked down. Gabriel walked out of the dining room and Adrien soon followed suit before heading up to his room.

The young man disappeared behind his door and walked over to the couch in his room to sit down. Plagg, seeing the holder of his Miraculous looking a little down, flew over to him and asked, "So, how did asking your father go?"

"Well, I don't know if he'll let me go or even go with us. He said he'd think about it. I'm kind of used to it anyway." Adrien shrugged as he leaned his head back. Plagg tried to comfort him by saying, "Hey, at least your father said that he'd think about it. That's not an automatic no."

"Yeah, but-" Adrien started to say. But Plagg cut him off by saying, "No buts. You just have to be patient and hope for the best."

"I guess you're right, Plagg." Adrien said and decided to wait for his father's answer.

Down in Gabriel's office, he and Nathalie were starting to talk about it. Nathalie looked to her employer/love interest and asked, "So, what are you going to tell him?"

"I don't want to put him in danger. Especially by letting him go there." Gabriel shook his head. But he sighed before saying, "But if I can be honest, I think I may need a break from all that's going on."

This surprised Nathalie and she asked, "So, you're not going to be akumatizing anyone for a while. You're actually going?"

"I'll need to get a few affairs settled first if I do intend to go with Adrien." Gabriel said as he looked over a list of what needed to be done. Nathalie then said, "If you'd like sir, I can take care of those for you."

She suddenly entered a small coughing fit and Gabriel rushed to her. He kept her from falling and said, "Perhaps I should reconsider going."

"No, no." Nathalie said as she was able to stand again. Looking to him she said, "If you really wish to take a break to spend time with Adrien, then I think that Ladybug and Cat Noir's Miraculous can wait a while."

"Are you sure that you can handle everything here?" Gabriel asked, not wanting to put too much on her shoulders while she was still under her weak spells. Nathalie nodded and said, "I am. You go and be with Adrien."

Ladybug soon came over the record store from yesterday and landed a few yards away. She hid herself before saying, "Spots Off!"

Another flash of pink and she was once again Marinette. Not really needing to hurry this time, Marinette walked to the store and saw Master Fu starting to lock up. She waved to him from outside and he looked about before letting her in. He closed it behind her and asked, "Marinette, is everything all right?"

"Yes, sir. Everything is fine." Marinette said as they walked through the store. She reassured him by saying, "Luckily there hasn't been an akuma alert, so I think we're good for the moment."

"Then tell me what's on your mind." Master Fu said. Marinette decided not to beat around the bush and told him everything. They went into the back room to allow Tikki and Wayzz to come out for some air. When she finished she said, "My parents say that I can go, but I still don't know if I should."

"Marinette, you are always looking out for the wellbeing of Paris. And that is good." Master Fu nodded. But he sympathized with her by saying, "But like I said with the last school field trip, even Ladybug need to have some fun now and then."

"So, can I borrow the Horse Miraculous again?" Marinette asked him. Master Fu smiled and said, "I can do you one even better. Remember the magical power up macaroons that I gave you?"

"Mm-hmm." Marinette nodded as she remembered the box and the ingredients. Master Fu then said, "I do believe that the red one has something to do with quick travel. It may not bring you back in an instant like the Horse Miraculous, but it could get you back here just the same."

"I guess that could work." Marinette agreed with a nod. Then she asked, "So, it's okay if I go to Jurassic World with my friends."

Master Fu nodded his consent. Then he said, "And believe it or not, but I too have been to the theme park."

"Wha- Really?" Marinette asked him. Master Fu nodded and said, "While I do have my opinions about such things, I did enjoy my brief time there. It's a shame that the previous park never go to open."

"Yeah, I had read that the previous park would have been just as spectacular." Marinette said. Then she asked, "Did you ever get to meet John Hammond or Mister Masrani?"

"Unfortunately, no." Fu shook his head. But with a smile he did say, "But I did and still do like how they viewed life."

"Well, that's all I wanted to ask you about, Master." Marinette respectfully bowed her head. She turned to walk back out and bided, "See you next time, Master Fu."

"Goodbye, Marinette." Master Fu nodded and waved back to him. When she left the store, Master Fu began to think about something. Wayzz, seeing the look on the man's face asked, "I'm guessing that you're going to go with her to keep an eye on her."

"It's not that I don't trust her, Wayzz." Master Fu shook his head. He could feel something on the horizon, "It's just that I have a bad feeling about all of this."

Back at the Agreste Estate, Adrien was still sitting in his room while Plagg was at the computer desk finishing some Camembert cheese. They both jumped when a knock came from the door. Plagg quickly disappeared into a cabinet to hide while Adrien said, "Come in."

The door opened and Gabriel walked into the room. Adrien waited as his father walked over to the couch and sat down as well. The two sat in silence for a moment before Gabriel said, "I've given it a lot of thought, Adrien. And I've decided to allow you to go on this trip."

Adrien looked to his father in surprise and Gabriel looked to his son. Gabriel then said, "Nathalie said that she'll have all the affairs taken care of while we're gone. And since the trip apparently takes place during the holidays, it shouldn't be an issue with your school."

"You're right." Adrien agreed with a grin. Then he asked, "So, you're really going to be a chaperone?"

"Both me and your body guard." Gabriel said with a nod. Outside of Adrien's room, the Gorilla happened to hear that and suddenly felt sick to his stomach from the thought of air travel. Back in the room, Gabriel admitted, "At first I wasn't too sure of letting either of us go on this trip, but after thinking it over and talking with Nathalie, I decided that it might what's best for us."

"Have you seen any of the dinosaurs from the island?" Adrien asked. But Gabriel shook his head, "I was always to busy to go when Simon asked me beforehand. But perhaps this time I'll get to enjoy it."

The next day at school, all those going on the trip walked up to Mr. Damocles' door when they had some free time. And by the end of the day, both Mr. Damocles, Mrs. Bustier and Mr. Masrani stood before them in the middle of the school again. The principle told the students going, "Now that I have your signatures, I ask you to have all the necessary items prepared for departure when we leave."

"I'll have someone send you your plane tickets before the flight date. Please do not lose them." Mr. Masrani asked with a smile. Everyone nodded before walking out the door.

"I am so stoked for going on this trip." Nino said to Adrien as they walked to the front door. He, Alya, Marinette, Max, Kim, Mylene, Ivan, Rose, Juleka and Alix were walking with him when he asked, "What about your dad? Did he give you permission to go?"

"Better than that, Nino." Adrien said with a smile. He surprised them all when he said, "He said that he would come with us as a chaperone."

"Whoa, really?" Kim asked, hardly believing his ears. Adrien nodded before saying, "Even my bodyguard's coming as a chaperone."

"I know that Mr. Damocles is coming as one as well." Max informed, earning a few groans from Max and Alix. Marinette looked to Alya and asked, "How long until we get our tickets and everything."

"Hopefully when the holidays roll around." Her best friend shrugged. Alya then suggested, "But we better head home and pack ahead of time."

"Now that's a plan I can get behind." Nino nodded as he wrapped an arm around his girlfriend. The friends all chatted with each other as they walked down the stairs, really excited to go to the one place that featured live dinosaurs.

Author's Note: I know that this chapter is much shorter than the last, but in the next chapter, we have the students of the François Dupont College getting on board their plane to head to Costa Rica. And while waiting for the ferry, they'll be meeting with two familiar faces that are also going for a fun weekend. I look forward to reading your reviews.
