Ben went to the camp with his friends. After finding out they were all alive, never escaped the island and met two "ecotourists" named Tiff and Mitch that happened to be hunters. Everything got... chaotic. They stopped Mitch and Tiff from murdering the dinosaurs. Found out that both died, and didn't make it out of the island. And neither did them, just yet. Ben was physically and emotionally exhausted. He went towards the very torn and old sofa and fell asleep, practically all of the campers did.
Ben was running away from Toro and the Indominus Rex. He made it to camp... and saw all of his friends murdered. He turned and saw Kenji bleeding out, eyes open but dead inside.
Ben woke up trembling, sweating, and panting. It was night already. He inhaled and exhaled as he looked at his friends, very much alive and sleeping. He started panicking as he realized Kenji wasn't there. He looked around hyperventilating until he saw Kenji climbing up the stairs.
Kenji looked at Ben and smiled, "Oh you're awake. You've been asleep for quite a-"
"WHERE WERE YOU?!" Ben exclaimed trying to catch his breath.
Kenji looked at Ben surprised and confused at his response, "I was using the restroom. Well it's not really, just some tr-" Kenji looked at Ben's shaking hands, "Hey, what's wrong?" Kenji asked with the softest voice.
Ben tried to calm down and looked away, "Just a nightmare, it's nothing." Ben blushed at the way Kenji sounded so concerned and the way his voice softened.
Kenji walked towards Ben, "Wanna sleep with me?-" Kenji immediately retracted himself and chuckled, "That sounded WAY less weird in my head. More like, do you wanna snuggle? I-I-It's fine if you don't- I- that-"
"Yes Kenji, I'd love to- what did you call it? Oh yeah- snuggle with you." Ben chuckled at the sound of it but certainly wouldn't mind it.
They moved around a lot to try and get comfortable since there wasn't much space, but eventually found a nice position to sleep in. With Kenji wrapping his arms around Ben, and Ben's cheek being pressed against Kenji's chest.
"Comfortable?" Kenji asked.
"Mmhh" Ben responded.
Kenji rested his cheek against Ben's head, remembering how nice it was to have the boy that close to him. The sensation of Ben's warm breath against his chest, the inhale and exhale of his torso, those tiny delicate soft arms and hands wrapping around him. Oh how he missed him. The moment he fell off the monorail and watched him be taken by pterodactyls, eyes full of tears and fear. He wanted to jump off too, go with him. But he didn't. He thought he'd died, that he'd never see him again. Never hear his soft cute voice again, never see those beautiful big blue grayish eyes again, never see that adorable shy smile of his again, never see him draw those incredibly cute childish drawings of him and Bumpy again. The thought of loosing him again brought tears to his eyes and all those emotions he usually kept locked away poured out. Tears started falling down through the sides of his head.
"Kenji, are you okay?" Ben asked in a shy concerned voice.
"... I thought you were gone. That I'd never see you again." Kenji said voice cracking, sniffing, holding the boy closer as if he'd disappear at any moment.
Ben was shocked at his words. He never thought he'd make anyone feel like that, much less Kenji. In an attempt to comfort the tall, amazing, funny, sweet, caring boy he tightened his grip on him.
"I'm alive, aren't I? What matters is that I'm here now, with you. I-I mea- w-well also everyone else." Kenji chuckled at Ben's stuttering, it was just too cute.
"Yeah." Kenji responded. And for the first time in days, he felt a sense of comfort. He'd never say it out loud, but when he was anywhere this amazing, selfless, cute, and smart guy, he felt like everything would be okay.
He felt the boy's breathing go soft and his eyes starting to close. Eventually, both fell deep asleep.
