Chapter Ten: The Indominus Rex Meets Cat Noir
The park official led Ladybug to the Control Room fairly quickly. She was grateful that there were some security guards keeping people back. They had made it to the doors and some of the tourists that were there cried out in joy when they saw her. Ladybug gave a sheepish wave as she walked by them. It was before the actual control room when she saw Mr. Masrani standing there. He seemed to be upset as evident that he had a frown and his hands were on his hips. Ladybug guessed that he must have been upset by her sudden arrival there. When she stood before him, she bowed her head and said, "Hello, Mr. Masrani. Apologies for my sudden appearance."
"Apologies? Apologies?!" Mr. Masrani shouted with a glare. This startled Ladybug as she flinched. She was thrown for a loop when the angry look disappeared and a smile took its place. He clapped his hands together and said, "Why are you apologizing? I owe you a debt of gratitude for saving that man."
"Oh, uh, glad that I could help." Ladybug rubbed the back of her head with a laugh. Then she said, "I know that it must have been odd to see me suddenly appear in the park."
"Well, even if you had paid for a ticket," Simon Masrani admitted, "I doubt that I would have known that it was you.
"You are an inspiration to a lot of people here, my friend." Simon nodded. He looked to the people around him and said, "And I think that we would all be honored if you would stay."
Lots of agreement went about the workers and the tourists. From one of the labs, Henry Wu was watching the whole thing. Though he wasn't thrilled to have another celebrity of sorts at the park, he did seem a little nervous about something. Simon then asked her, "Is there anything that I can get you, Ms. Ladybug?"
"Um, no thank you." She politely shook her head. With a gracious smile she said, "I think I'm fine for the moment."
"Very well." Simon nodded. Then he asked, "I don't suppose that Cat Noir is here with you as well?"
"I wouldn't think so." Ladybug shook her head. She looked away when she said, "More than likely he's still in Paris. And I'll need to be getting back soon."
"In case there is the threat of a super villain." Masrani nodded in understanding. Ladybug nodded as well. They were interrupted when Simon got an alert on his phone. He looked at it and said, "Something appears to be up."
"More trouble?" Ladybug asked. While Simon knew that it was usually against protocol to bring unauthorized personnel into the main room, Ladybug was a bit of a different case. He motioned for her to follow after him. A little unsure, Ladybug walked after the CEO.

Through the jungles of Isla Nublar, Claire's car zoomed down the road back to the main park. As she kept one hand on the wheel, she had the other with her phone up to her ear. She had dialed a number and informed, "We have an asset out of containment. Put ACU on alert. This is not a drill."
When she finished that call, she began to dial another number. Claire was mostly hoping that hadn't made a mistake when she left Adrien and Owen there in case she was wrong.

In another section of the park, Gabriel was looking about before hiding behind a sign. He was about to transform when his phone went off. He answered it and heard Nathalie's voice, "Sir. You might want to see what I'm about to show you."
A video popped up and when he clicked it, Gabriel was greatly surprised by what he was seeing. He watched as Ladybug swooped in and saved a man from falling to the pavement. Gabriel then said, "It seems that she's a bit far from home.
"And if we're in luck, her alley cat isn't too far behind." He added. Nathalie then said, "There's a bit more, sir. I was able to discreetly tap into Claire Dearing's recent call.
"The Indominus seems to have escaped from captivity." She informed him. What she said next really intrigued him, "Not only that, but Lila Rossi says that she may have found yet another potential candidate for you to akumatized."
"So many opportunities." Gabriel said, his mind really working to take advantage of the chaos. Nathalie then asked, "But where are you going to keep an eye on things? Practically all of Jurassic World has an eye of some kind."
"Jurassic World does." Gabriel said before lifting his gaze from the phone. He smirked when he said, "But the ruins of Jurassic Park are quite an ideal place for me."
"That's quite brilliant, sir." Nathalie agreed as she knew he had a point. They both new that while the buildings were slowly decaying, there was absolutely nothing to give them away to their enemies, nor to the public. Gabriel then requested, "I'll need you to knock out any security cameras in my area."
"Already on it, sir." Nathalie said before he waited a moment. It wasn't long before she spoke again, "You have a few minutes to get out of the Jurassic World and into the wilds of Isla Nublar."
"Excellent work, Nathalie." Gabriel commended before hanging up. As he prepared to transform, he momentarily worried about his son. But he figured that even if his plan didn't succeed, he knew that he would be safe with Claire Dearing. He quickly got to work and took out a little box. Opening it up, he revealed a small purple gemstone. The jewel glowed before Nooroo emerged from the Miraculous. He looked about before asking, "Master?"
"No time to waste, Nooroo." Gabriel shook his head. Then he stretched his arms out and commanded, "Nooroo, Dark Wings Rise!"
Nooroo cried out as he was sucked into the magical jewel. A silver mask suddenly appeared over Gabriel's head. A purple tailor-made suit came over his body. Black gloves suddenly covered his hands while the same-colored dress shoes appeared on his feet. He raised his hand and a purple and black cane appeared. He finished the transformation by spinning the cane a bit before tapping the ground with it.
Hawk Moth chuckled at the thought of making all the attendants of Jurassic World cower in his presence, but he knew that it was best if he remained in the shadows. With a single leap he landed on the roof of a building before jumping to the outer wall of the park. He looked about to make sure that no one saw him before he jumped into the jungles of Isla Nublar.

In the Control Room, Lowery and Vivian were currently talking with each other. She was really into the story when Lowery said, "Even though I didn't really meet him until I was like thirteen, I do definitely consider Carl to be more of a dad than my real dad was."
"Yeah." Vivian said as she understood. They were interrupted when a beeping noise came from the console. They looked up to the giant map of the island as the call was triangulated from the restricted area of the island. Ladybug and Mr. Masrani entered the room just as Lowery was picking up the phone. He answered, "Hello?"
"Lowery." A relieved Claire said over the phone. Then he heard her order, "Get me coordinates on the Indominus."
"Uh, okay, yeah." Lowery said as he started typing in keys. Mr. Masrani and Ladybug walked over and the latter asked, "What's going on?"
"Uh, one second, Ladybug." Lowery said as he continued typing keys on the console. After a few taps, both he and Vivian raised their heads before turning to the superheroine. But before they could get too excited, Mr. Masrani told Lowery, "Please focus."
"Uh, right." Lowery said as he went back to typing. Ladybug looked to Masrani with a grin and she laughed a little.

Back at the paddock of the Indominus, a door on the ground opened up and Adrien, Owen and the guard from the observation deck walked into the seemingly quiet paddock. On the other side was another worker as he was assessing the claw marks. Adrien looked about the paddock and his time as Cat Noir made him learn to expect the unexpected. When they made it to the other side, Owen stretched his hand out and ran it on one the claw mark. Adrien shook his head, "I'm starting to like this less and less."
"I don't think you're the only one, Adrien." Owen agreed as he took a step back. They all looked up and the guard said, "This wall is forty feet high. Do you really think that she could have climbed out?"
"Well, there are two things that go with the answer to that question." Adrien said, making them glance to him. He didn't look away when he said, "How determined she was to get out."
"And the second?" The guard asked. Owen had the answer when he said, "It depends on what kind of dinosaur they went and cooked up in that lab."
Adrien suddenly had a feeling that they were being watched from behind. He glanced back, but couldn't see anything in the foliage. He wanted to have Plagg go and see if something was out of the ordinary, but couldn't risk having the three others see the Kwami.
From behind the quintet, a pair of red eyes stared at them through the foliage. It waited to make its next move.

Back in the Control Room, an image of where the dinosaur in question was came up. But it confused most of the people as Lowery said, "Wait, what the heck?"
"What?" Claire asked over the phone. Ladybug walked up and said, "Whatever it is you're trying to track, the beacon says that it's in the cage."

While she sped down the road, Claire didn't know who was talking to, but she thought it didn't make any sense. She shook her head, "No, that's impossible. I was just there."
"Claire, we're telling you that she's in the cage." Lowery repeated what they were seeing. What he said next made her eyes widen, "W-Wait, there are some people in there."
"Adrien!" She heard a frantic female voice call out over the phone. Claire then ordered, "Get them out of there right now."
When she didn't hear anything she screamed, "NOW!"

In the Control Room, Vivian placed her hand to her ear piece and tried to contact, "Paddock Eleven, this is the Control Room. You need to evacuate the containment area."

In the paddock, everyone heard the radio, but it came out staticky. They heard a call on the radio again. The guard pressed the button on it and asked, "Uh, say again. It was a little funny there."
"IT'S IN THE CAGE! IT'S IN THERE WITH YOU!" They heard Vivian screamed to them. Owen pushed Adrien forward, "Go! Now!"
All four of them took off running back to the door that they had come through. They all made a break for the path that led straight to the door, but Adrien and the security guard came sliding to a stop when they saw her moving in the foliage. Adrien looked to him and said, "Run!"
The guard didn't need to be told twice as the two took off running with the man giving a whimper. Adrien looked back and called out, "Owen!"
But the Raptor Trainer and the other worker were already stopping when the Indominus moved in front of them. She was blocking the way to the door and growled down at them. Both men quickly turned and ran for the loading door. The security guard was the first to make it as he approached the console. Adrien was right behind him when his foot got caught on a root and he tripped. He yelped as he fell to the ground and Plagg tumbled out from his shirt. The Kwami disappeared into the bushes while Owen stopped to help the boy up. Grabbing his arm he said, "Come on, Adrien."
When he was on his feet Adrien started running again. The park worker wasn't so lucky as he was starting to fall behind. Adrien looked back and gasped in horror when the Indominus grabbed the man with her hand.

In the Control Room, everyone gasped as the man shouted. Ladybug and Vivian screamed in horror when they witnessed the Indominus Rex eat the man. No one spoke when Claire shouted over the phone, "Someone tell me what is happening!"

The guard had finished opening the door when he looked back. He too became fearful when he saw the Indominus rip the man apart with her jaws. He slipped out when the door was wide enough. Owen and Adrien kept running for their lives as the Indominus gave chase again.

"Close the door!" Masrani ordered Lowery, making the two girls gasp with worry. But he objected by saying, "We can't leave them in there with that thing."
"Ladybug, do you think you could reach them?" Masrani asked the super heroine. Ladybug removed her yo-yo from her side and opened it. She reached her hand inside and expected to pull out one of her special macaroons, but gasped when her hand was empty. Simon looked to her and asked, "What's wrong?"
"I don't have what I need." Ladybug shook her head. She really was worried for her friends when she said, "I must have forgotten them back home. And there isn't enough time for me to swing through the jungle either."
"That's a bummer." Lowery said, earning a look from just about everyone in the room. Vivian slapped him upside the head for his comment. Ladybug looked back to the screen and said, "Let's hope that they get out before the door closes.
"And hopefully she stays inside as well." Ladybug said, hoping that both would come to pass. Lowery sighed before he pushed the button to close the door back up.

Both Adrien and Owen gasped when they saw that the door was starting to close once again. They both started to run faster not only to avoid getting locked in, but to keep out of the Indominus' grasp as well. The Indominus could see her freedom and the boy all in one goal and was determined not to let either slip through her long fingers.
From way back, Plagg dizzily came out of the bushes before shaking his head. When he cleared it, he gasped when he saw that Adrien was in trouble. Then he thought of a plan and didn't have to worry about the security cameras. Though he did have to remind himself to keep quiet. Flying up, he whisked up to the Indominus and was able to catch her attention. The hybrid saw the Kwami and tried to make a grab for him. But Plagg was one step ahead of her as he moved much quicker than her when she swiped her huge, scaley hands. When he noticed that the door was starting to close up enough, he made a beeline right for one of paddock walls. The Indominus was confused for a moment when she too saw the door starting to close and the boy almost out. Realizing that she had been tricked, she quickly doubled her pace towards the closing door.
Both Adrien and Owen also doubled their efforts to get to the closing door. They could hear the Indominus getting closer and said at the same time, "Oh, crud!"
The two were able to slip out the door just in time as she tried to make a grab for Adrien. Unfortunately, the Indominus managed to get a good deal of her body through. She roared in pain as the door slammed into her and the pressure caused her to thrash. She managed not only damage the door, but the wall a little as well. The Indominus struggled against the door and Owen shouted to Adrien, "Go and hide!"
"But-" Adrien started to say. But Owen didn't want to hear It when he shouted, "Go!"
Adrien turned in a different direction as Owen continued to run forward. Adrien ran right into the forest and from above, Plagg happened to see his holder run. He flew after him. Owen slid to where he went under a truck and moved to stay hidden. Turning on his belly, he looked back to the paddock just as the Indominus managed to force her way through. She pushed the door aside and looked about the outside world for the first time in ages. Owen watched from the safety under the truck as she walked about the place.
In the woods, Adrien managed to find a hiding spot a small distance away and looked back to the paddock as he heard the Indominus' growls. After taking a few deep breaths he knew what he had to do. He opened up his shirt and said, "Looks like we're needed, Plagg."
But when he didn't get an answer, he looked and gasped when he discovered that Plagg wasn't there. He didn't have to worry for long when he heard his Kwami's voice cry out, "Adrien!"
Looking up he saw the little cat-like Kwami fly up to him. Plagg embraced the boy's shoulder and he said, "I was so worried about you!"
"Same here, Plagg." Adrien said with a smile. Then he said, "But those guys need us.
"Plagg, Claws Out!" Adrien commanded as he punched his fist out. Plagg was sucked into the ring before Adrien moved his right hand over his face and his mask appeared. Then waving his hands over his head his cat ears sprung out. Then extending his arms and legs, his suit appeared over him. Then his tail-belt sprang out before wrapping around his waist. He finished the transformation by scratching at the air before pulling off his usual superhero pose.
"Okay, I got to head back and help them." Cat Noir said before removing his staff from his belt and jumping into the trees.
Back at the paddock, Owen watched as the Indominus walked around a Jurassic World construction truck. The guard was hiding at the front of the truck. But thanks to the Indominus' sense of smell, she could tell that he was very afraid by the smell of his sweat. Owen watched as the man silently whimpered in fear when he looked around the truck. He only saw the hybrid's tail as she was walking around the truck and moved to try and sit as still as he could. The Indominus stopped beside the truck and sniffed down at her prey. With a swing of her hand, she was able to knock the truck to the side and he and Owen cringed when it crashed down next to his hiding spot. He turned and looked through the shattered window to the security guard who could only look at him. He seemed to start to say something as the Indominus' jaws came down on him.
Cat Noir had managed to make it to a tree not far from the paddock and witnessed the man getting eaten. He cringed from the sound of crunching and looked to find Owen underneath the other truck. Speaking of Owen, he was currently moving to where a fluid line was and quickly cut it with his knife. He sprayed the gas on him and covered as much as he could to cover his scent. Owen rubbed it into his clothes just for good measure. When it stopped, Owen calmed himself and looked to the Indominus to see what would happen. He and Cat Noir watched as the hybrid walked around the ruined truck and started sniffing around Owen's hiding spot. The Indominus seemed to only smell the gas covering Owen, but from the tree, Cat Noir knew he needed to do something. Standing up in the tree he shouted, "Yoo-hoo! Over here!"
Even from where he was hiding, Owen and the Indominus Rex looked in Cat Noir's direction. The cat-themed superhero waved his arms up and down and shouted, "Come on, Snow White! Bet you can't catch me!"
He turned and jumped from branch to branch. It seemed to do the trick as the Indominus roared before following after him. Owen watched as she chased after Cat Noir. He had to wait a moment until she was really gone before crawling out from underneath the truck. When he was sure that she was gone, Owen gave a relieved sigh.
In the woods, Cat Noir was still fleeing from the Indominus as she crashed through the plants after him. Cat Noir yelped when she came close to bringing her jaws on him but managed to get out of the way. He knew that he needed lose her, and saw the perfect tree. When he landed on a branch a good deal away, Cat Noir lifted the hand with his ring and yelled, "Cataclysm!"
A surge of destructive energy filled his palm and he jumped down at the tree. He turned and waited for the hybrid. She came closer to him and then he made a scratching motion with his claws. The destructive energy brought the tree crashing down between him and her. But the dust cloud it created caused the perfect distraction for Cat Noir as he jumped into the tree and went in a circle back to Owen. The Indominus shook her head to clear off the dust before blinking her eyes. She looked around for Cat Noir but when she couldn't find him she gave an angry roar before moving off through the forest.

Owen looked about for Adrien and was gonna call out when he saw a shape jumping through the trees. Waving his arms he called out, "Cat Noir! Cat Noir!"
"Uh, hey there." Cat Noir said when he landed in front of Owen. The Raptor Trainer then said, "Look, I don't mean to waste your time and I am super glad that you were able to save my life, but I'm looking for a blonde kid named Adrien Agreste."
"Oh, yeah. Adrien." Cat Noir said and placed his hand to his chin as if thinking. He was able to come up with a pretty good excuse, "You don't have to worry about him. I ran into him and was able to get him on a transport during the evacuation."
"Really?" Owen asked, impressed by it. He nodded, "Wow, you work really fast."
"Hey, what can I say." The Super Hero of Destruction said with a shrug. Pointing to himself he said, "After all, I am the cat's meow."
"If you say so." Owen shrugged, hardly knowing what Cat Noir meant. Cat Noir became serious and asked, "So, what exactly was with that dinosaur just now?"
"I'm not so sure that that was a dinosaur." Owen shook his head. Then he said, "We need to get back to the park. We can come up with a better plan there."
"Um, just give a minute okay. I promise to be super-fast." Cat Noir said before running off to feed Plagg. Owen could only watch him run into the woods with a questioning look.

Author's Note: And I think I'll end the chapter here. Yep, Cat Noir's arrived on the island and is going to help out. And as for Adrien Agreste, Gabriel Agreste and Marinette Dupen-Cheng, they'll be making some small appearances until the end of the story. So it's mainly with Ladybug, Cat Noir and Hawk Moth.
