A/N: I think the title of the chapter is appropriate. After all, we all know how Vic's plan with the Raptors went. Plus, he's an idiotic jerk.

Chapter Nineteen: A Bad New Plan

Closing in on the island of Isla Nublar, an Ingen Helicopter was heading for the island. A quartet of mercenaries sat in the back, each of them holding a different weapon. As they flew by, one of the men saw a single Dimorphodon flying over the ocean. He raised his gun and fired a single bullet. The noise made the others look just when the flying dinosaur was hit. It fell to the water with a screech while the mercenaries only grinned. They continued flying towards the island.

Back in the park, Ladybug and Cat Noir were taking deep breaths after their battle with Pterrify. Luckily for them, the other ACU troopers were able to capture all the Pterosaurs. Zara, the Gorilla, the brothers and the other French Students walked up to the five heroes of the hour. Alya excitedly said, "That was amazing you guys."

"With any luck, I'll be on a train out of here." The guest that had become Pterrify said before he walked off. The other guests started to follow after him to evacuate the island. Claire then said, "Okay, so one crisis is taken care of.

"We still need to get these people to safety." She said as she looked to the other guests, still terrified from what just happened. Ladybug looked to Claire and Owen to say, "I'm sorry about Mr. Masrani."

"Why, what happened to Mr. Masrani?" Nino asked, oblivious to what had happened while they were out in the jungle. Ladybug sadly looked down when she revealed, "Simon Masrani's been killed."

That caused everyone who didn't witness it to gasp. Claire nodded to it and said, "He died when he went go hunt the Indominus Rex in a chopper."

"The Indominus?" A confused Kim asked. Alya seemed to understand and then asked, "Just in asking, is the Indominus a large theropod with long arms, white scales, and feather like appendages running down her back?"

"How did you know that?" Claire asked her. Alya gestured to her, Gray, Zach, Chloe and Nino, "Because we ran into it when we went outside the fence."

"You what?" Claire questioned and looked to her nephews. They responded by pointing to the other like how children being caught would. Alya then said, "And Ladybug, Cat Noir, we found something in the old Jurassic Park Visitor's Center."

Wha-" Their friends said in astonishment. Nino presented the data binder to them and turned to the page. Ladybug took the binder from Nino while Cat Noir asked, "What's so special about it?"

"I think it's this." Ladybug said when she looked at the page. Master Fu happened to take a glance of the binder and his eyes widened along with Cat Noir's. They saw the shape of a Kwami, though it wasn't looking like any of the Kwamis that they knew.

"You said that you found this in the old park?" Ladybug asked and looked to the five. Alya, Zach, Chloe, Gray and Nino all nodded to confirm it. Claire looked at the binder and said, "Hang on."

"Hm?" Ladybug asked and handed her the binder. Claire looked it over and shook her head in confusion, "This can't have been from the old park. The binder itself is nearly brand new. Yeah, a few years old.

"But not something from twenty years ago." Claire felt as if she would have seen something like this. She closed the binder and said, "We'll need to go speak with Henry about this."

The sudden sound of beeping made Ladybug gasp. She gave a nervous grin and said, "And while you're doing that. I need to go take care of some business.

"Be right back." She promised before slinging her yo-yo forward. Ladybug zipped away while Claire started making a call. Even Cat Noir slipped away while everyone talked with each other.

Ladybug managed to find a secure spot and looked about before saying, "Spots Off!"

A pink flash and Marinette Dupen-Cheng was once again standing in the world. Tikki floated up to her and Marinette opened her purse. She took out a macaroon and said, "Here, Tikki. But we got to make this quick."

"Okay." Tikki nodded and took the macaroon. As Marinette waited for Tikki to finish, her phone suddenly went off. She brought it out and saw that it was a call from Alya. Making sure to keep it so her friend wouldn't be able to see anything, Marinette answered it, "Hello?"

"Girl, where are you? I've got something big to tell you." Alya said, sounding both a little worried and excited at the same time. Marinette became a little nervous then said, "Oh, I was just, uh, kind of swept up in the evacuation. Yeah, it all happened so fast that I didn't know what was going on."

"Oh, that's too bad." Alya said. Then she asked, "Think you can make it back?"

"Uh, it's kind of crowded where I'm at." Marinette said, trying to keep her friend from worrying. Alya looked a little disappointed for a moment before saying, "Well, I'll be sure to come and get you. I have something big to tell you."

"Why that no good-" They both heard Owen yell. Alya glanced back before saying, "Uh oh, I got to go. Talk to you later Marinette."

"You too." Marinette waved before she hung up. She sighed and put her phone away. Looking to Tikki she asked, "You good, Tikki?"

"Yes, Marinette." Tikki nodded. Marinette grinned before shouting, "Tikki, Spots On!"

Tikki flew into the earring and after another pink flash, Ladybug was back and ready for action. Removing her yo-yo from her waist, Ladybug threw it forward before zipping back to the others.

Like Ladybug, Cat Noir managed to find a good hiding spot for himself. He though it best if Plagg could have a brief rest and some cheese to refuel. Cat Noir relaxed and said, "Claws In!"

A flash of green and Adrien Agreste once again stood in Jurassic World. Plagg floated up as Adrien took out a piece of cheese and said, "Eat it fast, we still have work to do."

"Okay, okay." Plagg said and took the cheese. Adrien jumped a little when his phone went off, and took it out of his pocket. He answered it and said, "Hello?"

"Adrien, my dude!" Nino's voice said over the phone. Nino then asked him, "Where have you been, man?"

"I, uh, kind of got caught up in the evacuation." Adrien chuckled. Nino looked a little disappointed, "Bummer. I just heard the same thing from Alya about Marinette. Maybe the two of you should wait together."

"That's probably a good idea." Adrien agreed and rubbed the back of his neck. They both suddenly heard Owen say, "Why that no good-"

"Uh, I think that things aren't looking so good over here." Nino said when he looked away from the screen. He turned back and said, "I'll talk to you later, Adrien."

"See ya, Nino." Adrien waved before they hung up. Plagg seemed to finish his cheese and said, "Okay, I'm good. Let's go."

"Plagg, Claws Out!" Adrien shouted and Plagg flew into the ring. A flash of green and he was once again Cat Noir. Cat Noir removed his staff and extended it to where it was carried away.

…

Both Ladybug and Cat Noir returned to the scene a moment later. They were both surprised to see Owen not looking happy at all. Ladybug asked, "What's going on?"

"I think I'll let Lowery explain." Claire said before putting the phone on speaker. Then she said, "Say it again, Lowery."

"Like I just said, I learned that the board assigned emergency ops to InGen's private security division." Lowery informed again. Then what he said next shocked the two heroes, "This guy named Vic Hoskins is in charge and he has this insane plan to use the Velociraptors to hunt the Indominus."

"Use the Raptors?" Those who knew what he was talking about questioned. They looked to Owen and now knew why he was looking upset. Ladybug then said, "So what do we do?"

"I'll tell you what we should do." Alix stepped up. She punched a fist into her palm when she said, "I say we go give that Hoskins guy a piece of our mind about his awful plan."

"While Mylene, Ivan and I aren't prone to violence…" Rose spoke up. She didn't look pleased when she said, "We are against using innocent creatures against their own wishes."

Juleka muttered her agreement to what Rose just said. Owen then said, "As much as I want you all to back me up with this, I don't think it's a good idea."

"Owen's right." Ladybug agreed. She looked to the group and said, "You guys have been in enough danger as it is."

"Especially the five of you." Ladybug said when she turned to Zach, Gray, Alya, Nino and Chloe. But Chloe put her foot down when she said, "Don't even think about leaving me behind, Ladybug."

"I'm with Chloe." Alya agreed with a nod. Nino wrapped an arm around his girlfriend, stating that he was with them. Claire then said, "Well, I'm not leaving the boys again while we're still on the island. So I'm going with you."

"Then the rest of you should go with the other tourists." Cat Noir suggested. While some didn't seem to keen on this, they did agree to go with their requests. Ladybug sort of tensed when Rose said, "Sure. We're bound to run into Marinette at some point."

"And Adrien too." Kim agreed, making both Cat Noir and Owen tense up a little as well. Owen nodded, "Yeah, you're bound to find your friends."

"And what about Mr. Agreste?" Rose asked, now remembering him. That seemed to get Cat Noir a little worried. He rubbed the back of his head and suggested with a shrug, "Maybe he too got caught up in the evacuation."

"I'll be sure to get them to the docks." Zara said to Claire. Claire nodded her thanks. She then noticed that someone wasn't with them and asked, "Hey, where's Zeke?"

"Um." Mylene said as she didn't know how to say it. Those who had watched what happened to Zeke just pointed to the lagoon. Everyone else looked to where they were pointing and Owen grimaced, "Ooh."

"Take care of yourselves, you guys." Alya said as she hugged all the girls of the group. Rose patted her on the back and returned, "You too."

Nino bumped fist with the guys before they all started walking. But they stopped when Mylene said, "Oh, wait. We forgot about Lila."

"Wait, where is she?" Kim asked and looked about. Not knowing what was going on, Claire asked, "Whose Lila?"

"She's a friend of theirs. Another French Student." Owen quickly explained to her. Owen looked to them and reassured, "She's probably where we're going. We'll be sure to get her back for you."

"Thank you, Owen." Rose said with a grateful look. The group turned to leave again while Ladybug looked to Master Fu and said, "You might want to go with them too.

"After all, I think you provide at least a little protection." She said with a wink. Master Fu caught on to what she was saying and nodded. He walked after Zara and the French Group. Ladybug looked to Owen and Claire, "We need to find some transportation. Cat Noir and I will ride on top."

"I hope we can trust you not to make us hit any branches." Cat Noir playfully said with a wink. Owen smiled when he said, "Don't worry. I'll be sure to go real smooth."

The sun had long set when the InGen team had gotten ahold of the Raptors. All four were placed in the holding pens. All four of their heads were kept in the open as they were being fitted with surveillance equipment. Each of the Raptors looked angrily at the people as they continued to work. Vic walked down to the last Raptor, which turned out to be Blue as the man finished setting it up. Blue snarled at the man as Vic leaned down to eye level to make sure that she could see him. He patted the man who was setting the system on Blue to show him a pad that held the surveillance footage. He turned Hoskins and showed him the image. Vic snapped at Blue, "Hey, Right here."

He laughed when Blue let out a snarl. Barry, who was leaning against the bars of the cage informed something for him, "She looks at what she wants."

Vic looked to Barry before looking at Blue. Barry then clarified, "Usually when it's something that she wants to eat."

That made Vic a little worried for a moment. A certain voice lightly taunted from behind, "Well luckily, the big bad Raptor isn't getting a treat to night."

Vic lightly laughed at that while the Velociraptors could only snarl. Barry then argued, "They aren't dogs."

"I know." Lila shrugged before turning away. The sound of a vehicle approaching made them all look to see a Jurassic World car pull up to the Raptor paddock. Vic smiled as he could only guess who it was. But he, Lila and Barry were all surprised to see who was riding on the top of the car. Ladybug and Cat Noir both jumped down while Owen stepped out of the vehicle. Claire, Alya and Nino were right behind him as well.

Vic stepped out of the cage and walked towards the group. All six against Vic's plan didn't seem to happy about this plan. But either Vic was oblivious to it, or he simply didn't care. Hoskins said with a laugh, "The mother hen has finally arrived."

Owen's response to that was slugging Vic in the face. Alya was quick to follow with a pretty good punch to Vic's gut. The chubby man fell to the ground with a groan. In the car, Zach, Gray and Chloe were all impressed as two of the three said, "Oh!"

Vic clutched himself from the pain that he had just received. Owen then demanded, "You and your goons get the heck out of here and stay away from my animals."

"Wait, Mr. Grady!" Lila said as she came running up to Vic's side. While Claire could only guess that this was the Lila that the French Students had been talking about, Alya and Nino both questioned, "Lila, what are you still doing with this creep?"

"Creep?" Vic asked, feeling insulted. Alya then pointed out, "Lila, you know that Vic's plan is a terrible one."

"Plus, he's just using the Raptors for his own personal gain." Nino said as he looked to the man with narrowed eyes. Claire then accused, "Hoskins, you wanted all of this to happen, you slimy little weasel."

"Are you kidding me?" Hoskins questioned as he looked between all of them. Then he asked, "How many more people have to die before this mission starts to make sense to any of you?"

"We all want the killing to stop. Believe me." Ladybug defended their group. She gestured to the animals in the pen, "But putting not only our lives, but theirs as well isn't good or fair for any of us."

"But, Ladybug, Vic only plans to have them out long enough to hunt the Indominus." Lila pleaded. She looked to Vic and asked, "Isn't that right, Vic?"

"Pretty much, yeah." Hoskins nodded. Barry walked over and reminded, "This is not a mission. It's supposed to be a field test."

"One that is no doubt to end in failure." Cat Noir shook his head and crossed his arms. Vic shook his head, "This has become an InGen situation.

"Okay, there are gonna be cruise ships that come here at first light. Everybody's gonna be getting off of this island." Vic pointed out. He continued to rant, "You're gonna watch a news story tomorrow about you all saved lives. No, no. Even better yet. How your animals saved lives."

"While you take the credit for the operation." Alya said, not believing a word. Vic groaned in frustration. Owen looked to Barry who could only shake his head, "It's crazy. They've never been out of containment."

"But it is our best option." Lila said placing a hand on Vic's arm. Vic turned and ordered, "Let's move it out!

"And this is happening. With or without you." He told Owen when he turned back to them. He started to walk away when Ladybug suddenly grabbed his arm. Vic turned back and Ladybug said, "Fine. We'll play this little game of yours, Hoskins.

"However; you're to have me and Cat Noir go with them. To ensure everyone's safety." She said, setting the terms. Cat Noir smirked and said, "I'd listen to her if I were you. You never know what she might do when she sets her mind to it."

"We want to stop the Indominus, Vic." Ladybug said, that much they agreed on. But then she shook her head, "But it doesn't we can't work together."

"Fine." Vic said before ripping his arm from her grasp. Cat Noir then asked, "By the way, don't suppose you know how the hunt for Hawk Moth is going, do you?"

"I pulled the group out of that hunt." Vic shook his head. This caused all six to angrily question, "What?"

"Well, with both a supervillain and the Indominus out there it was too dangerous." Vic pointed out. Alya then asked, "So you don't have a fix on his location."

"I'm afraid not." Vic shook his head. Ladybug then said, "We'll deal with Hawk Moth later. Right now, we need to stop the Indominus before she can make her way further south to the tourists."

"Then let's get started." Owen said, still looking to Hoskins with an unhappy look. While Owen, Vic and Barry walked to get started, Ladybug said to Claire, Nino and Alya, "Maybe it would be best if you guys stayed here. That way we know you'll be safe."

"You got it, Ladybug." Alya nodded in agreement. Nino placed his hands on Alya's shoulders and said, "No need to worry about us, Ladybug."

"Come on, Milady." Cat Noir said and the two heroes followed after the three men. Claire turned to the car and said, "Maybe we need a better vehicle."

"Like that big medical truck?" Nino asked and pointed to said car. Alya and Claire both looked to see it. Claire nodded, "Yeah, that'll do."

"Let's get Chloe and the boys so we can tell them." Alya said.

…

In a room adjoined with the paddock, Ladybug, Owen, Cat Noir and Barry all stood with the mercenaries. Owen brought out a map of the island and touched a spot, "We know that she is in sector five.

"We're going to use a method that we like to call hide-and seek. It's a scent drill that we've done it about a thousand times with the Raptors." Owen told them. He looked about the room as he continued, "When they get on target, and they will get on target, wait to engage. Velociraptors are pack hunters.

"And Ladybug and Cat Noir will make sure to get around her so they can try to prevent her escape." Owen said when he gestured to the two heroes. Owen then explained, "When they Raptors herd the animals into the kill zone, that's when we go and take our shot.

"When we have a clear shot, I want you to wait on my command, and then give her all you got." Owen said, knowing it would take everything they had to stop her. A mercenary raised his hand and asked, "Why can't Cat Noir just Cataclysm the hybrid?"

"Because I don't like to think about using my powers on living things." Cat Noir shook his head. The thought of using his powers on a living breathing animal made his skin crawl, "It just wouldn't feel right to me."

"Fine, make us do the hard stuff." The mercenary scoffed. Owen shouted, "Hey, hey! Cat Noir's gone up against this thing a couple more times than you have. Plus, he's been saving people all day. So shut up."

That seemed to get the man to clam up for the time being. Owen then warned, "We got one good sized target, gentlemen. So do not shoot my Raptors. Please."

"Dismissed." Barry said when everyone was aware of the game plan.

The mercenaries went to continued their preparations for the upcoming mission. As the four walked side by side, Ladybug could tell that Owen was really worried about Blue, Echo, Delta and Charlie. She placed a comforting hand on his shoulder and said, "Don't worry, Owen. We'll be sure to keep all four of them safe.

"We'll make sure everyone's safe." Cat Noir promised with a grin. Owen gave a small smile, "Thanks guys."

While Owen and Barry walked to the adjoining cage where the Raptors were being held, Ladybug and Cat Noir saw Alya, Nino, Chloe, Zach and Gray standing on the outside not too far from it. The two walked over and Ladybug asked, "You guys doing okay?"

"Yeah." Alya said and rubbed the back of her head when they turned to the two heroes. She then admitted, "It's just been a pretty hectic day for us."

"Yeah, I had no idea that this would be our only day in Jurassic World." Zach put in. Ladybug wished that she could have made it better for them by stopping the Indominus sooner. Cat Noir then said, "Well, if it's any compensation, you had an experience no one else ever will."

"Thanks, Cat Noir." Gray said. The sound of growling made them all look to the pen. They saw Owen inside carefully walking up to Blue.

"Easy, Blue." Owen said when the Raptor snarled. He looked about the equipment attached to his girl and made calming noises while gently stroking her chin as he could see that she was greatly agitated. Blue seemed to be calming down from his touch and Owen was pleased, "Attagirl.

"You don't scare me." Owen as he checked on a component of the equipment. He gave her another rub on the chin and said, "It's gonna be okay."

"Owen." Gray said from behind. Owen looked back to see Ladybug, Cat Noir and the kids standing on the other side of the bars. Gray then asked when he walked up to them, "Are they safe?"

"No. No they're not." Owen shook his head. He looked to Ladybug and Cat Noir, "And I know you said that you'd help me watch over them. But I can't help but feel that it's going to go wrong."

"We'll just have to wait and see." Cat Noir said, trying to make his friend feel better. Zach, deciding to break the foul mood, looked about the four and asked, "What are their names?"

"Well, you got Charlie." Owen said when he pointed to the Raptor on the far end. He came down the line with the other two, "There's Echo. This here is Delta.

"And this one's called Blue." He introduced to the Raptor behind her. He turned back to them and said, "She's the beta of the pack?"

"Who's the alpha?" Gray asked, a little curious since there's only four Velociraptors. Owen smiled when he said, "You're looking at him, kiddo."

It seemed to make seven grin. Barry walked up to the cage and he said, "We're almost ready to go."

"Okay, thanks, Barry." Ladybug nodded her appreciation. Looking to the others she suggested, "Maybe you should go and find some shelter until this is over."

"Right." Alya said and they went to go join Claire.

Elsewhere on the island, Hawk Moth had found a temporary spot in a tree. He was sure that the Indominus hadn't followed him, but he didn't want to take any chances. He opened up the lid of his cane and contacted Nathalie again. He then heard her voice, "Mr. Agreste?"

"I'm here, Nathalie." Hawk Moth nodded. Then he asked, "What news do you have to report."

"Due to the extreme measures taken by the board, they've allowed Vic Hoskins to take charge." Nathalie informed. The name didn't seem to familiar to him. Nathalie then said, "And the reason being is that Simon Masrani had perished today."

That caused his eyes to widen in shock. Simon Masrani had been a good friend to Gabriel Agreste and his family over the years, and to hear that he was dead struck a blow through Hawk Moth's hear. Hawk Moth shook his head, "Such unfortunate news.

"But it will have to wait. I have at least two more tries in obtaining Ladybug and Cat Noir's Miraculous." He said and cut off the connection between him and Nathalie. He allowed one of the akumas to come out and held up his hand. The little butterfly flew into it and Hawk Moth clenched his fist. Dark energy poured into the third akuma and it turned dark. He released the butterfly and said, "Fly away my akuma. Search for a prey that will not only ensure the downfall of Ladybug and Cat Noir, but destroy the reason that my friend is dead!"

The akuma flapped away into the night.

Author's Note: I think I'll leave it on a cliffhanger here. Next we start the hunt for the Indominus once again. Things will also be taking a bit of a dark turn in the next chapter as well. And while I hope to have this finished before the month lets out, I plan to save the last few chapters for a certain time. Which means after this post, you'll have a bit of a wait until the next few chapters. I look forward to reading your reviews.
