Hello fellow readers. This is Toadly1998.
Welcome to the fourth and final instalment in the Louis Serrano Chronicles, Pokémon: Chosen Path. The sequel to Pokémon: One of a Kind, Pokémon: United Bonds and Pokémon: Free Will.
I hope you all enjoy this story. You wouldn't believe how long it's taken me to write a few chapters.
They'd never seen each other before, yet their eyes locked in a tense stare. The Bellsprout shivered, nervously shifting its position under the gaze of the much stronger Pangoro.
With the blow of a whistle, the battle between the two specimens commenced. Both of the opposing Pokémon went back and forth, exchanging their most powerful and consistent attacks. Even though it was putting up a good fight, the Bellsprout's energy was depleting. Realising the struggle, the Pokémon's trainer made a crucial decision.
"Bellsprout, use Absorb," she commanded.
Shooting a glare at the much larger Pangoro, the leaves that made up Bellsprout's arms began to charge up energy. Then, two red beams fired out from the green leaves, aiming straight for the opposing beast. The strings of red power were too fast for the Pangoro, as they struck, and covered his body in the same red glow.
Upon closer inspection, the two opposing trainers saw that the Pangoro was suddenly growing weaker with each second that the Bellsprout used the attack.
Once enough power had been drained, the Bellsprout released the Pangoro from its draining attack, leaving the opposition severely winded. The large, and buffed Pangoro, gasped for air.
"As you can see..." a voice spoke, the narrator of the televised battle, "...the Bellsprout's Absorb ability has drained the power of the stronger Pokémon."
Louis sat back and sighed, switching the broadcast off.
"Man, why am I sitting here watching TV?" he asked himself. "I've got a trip to get ready for."
Hanging from a hook nearby was a memory in fabric form.
"I actually forgot I brought this with me," he muttered.
The scarf, a warm gift from his grandma still brought images of home.
And on the opposite side, his old hat, beginning to fray on the edges. Still thinking it would be useful, Louis placed it in his backpack, along with his scarf.
Drawing his eyes to the windows, he pictured himself and his friends travelling across the oceans and sky, envisioning all of the regions they would travel through. From Alola to Kanto.
Figuring that he and his friends would be travelling for quite some time, the young adult decided to pack extra sets of clothing. He also chose to wear a new attire for the occasion. A white shirt, grey jacket, and purple pants were his chosen appearance, along with his classic black and white shoes.
As he was picking up his six, minimised Pokéballs, there was a sudden knock on his room door. Believing it was either Roy, Taki or Suzuki, Louis stepped toward the portal, twisted the doorknob and carefully swung it open. On the other side, however, wasn't one of his friends. It was a man wearing sunglasses and a formal suit.
He looked like a man that rarely smiled.
"Are you Louis Serrano?" the man asked.
Louis raised an eyebrow.
"Um...yes?" he responded.
The man in black reached into his formal jacket and presented Louis an envelope with the young adult's name written on the front.
"I've been asked to give this to you," the man said.
Gently taking the envelope from the man, Louis inspected it to see if there was anything suspicious.
"Um...what's it for?" he asked.
"I wouldn't want to ruin the surprise," said the man in black.
Louis squinted his eyes at the reply.
With that, the suited individual made his way toward the dormitories' main exit. Still sceptical, Louis closed his room door and gazed upon it a second time.
However, his curiosity got the better of him. He flipped the envelope to the back and opened up the flap encasing the paper inside. He pulled out the sheet and unfolded it, revealing the written text inside.

He closed the letter in such an excited flurry, that he missed the postscript, printed just under...
"WAHOO!" cheered Louis.
The young adult hopped on the spot, adrenaline coursing through his veins. After making a quick, double-check on his packed bag and his supplies, Louis grabbed his room key, locked the door behind him and raced out of the dorms, with a large smile.
Near the stone staircase, Roy rocked his head to the beat of one of his favourite songs, playing through his Rotom Phone. Inteleon and Lycanroc looked to one another and rolled their eyes. Dragonite, however, didn't mind his trainer enjoying the sounds of music. Taki, who watched his musical friend, giggled at his playfulness.
"Heh. Ok, ok, that's enough of that song," said Roy.
He pressed the skip button on-screen, switching the music to a delicately-played acoustic guitar piece, a twelve-string, he surmised by the fullness of the notes in each strum.
"Ah, that's better," he said.
"I thought you liked that last song?" said Taki, surprised.
"I do," replied Roy. "But this music helps me think."
Then, a familiar figure emerged from the small crowd, with his packed bag, and his bright smile.
"Ah-ha!" yelled Roy.
"Finally decided to join us, huh?" added Taki.
"Sorry. I just got some really cool news!" he said, excitedly.
"You did?" replied Dragonite. "What is it?
– "I'll tell you guys during the trip."
The young adult retrieved the six minimised Pokéballs, pushed the centre button on each one, enlarging them, and threw them into the air. All six opened up with bright glares and each member of Louis' team, Braixen, Marowak, Lucario, Staraptor, Incineroar, and Azul, emerged from the lights.
The six Pokémon gazed upon the surrounding area, noticing the stone stairway, and the docks down below.
"It's that time already?" said Incineroar, with a smirk.
"You bet it is," replied Louis.
Alrighty. The gang's world tour is about to begin. This is gonna be one hell of a show.
