~~~~~[ Chapter I ]~~~~~
(FAST10 YOUR SEATBELT)
You can see the abandoned decaying factory, as you drive along the road with other drivers. It's a beautiful soft night, but these regular citizens don't know what's happening behind the factory, in the rusted spike fence. No one could see the two girls walking.
Sasha was wearing a black hoodie, with red lines across the chest area. The warm wind didn't help to comfort her, but it was all Sasha and Anne had to blend in the dark.
"Anne, hurry up! This should be the place. The road is here, funny, there is no one yet."
Sasha clenched her fist, while Anne ran to catch up to Sasha, now standing next to her.
"This better not be a SICK joke!"
"Maybe they realized that this was a bad idea, Sash"
"Hold up Anne, let me text Vince first—"
"Um, I don't think I can wear this hoodie any longer. I'm starting to sweat like crazy."
Anne said as she exposed her big poofy hair and tied the hoodie around her waist. Silence is followed by the soft wind whistles. Then the silence was interrupted by the sounds of drifting wheels. Sasha hangs up and turns her head to be greeted by bright headlights, squinting. Loud engines and high bass music started to filter the dead night into an airy club. Older teenagers and young adults drive through with their flashy neon-lighted cars. Once their cars were parked and doors locked after they got out, there was an outrageous noise.
"Yeah, baby!"
"Let's go!"
"I will beat all of you tonight! Your cars are no match for my MX-5!"
"This is not my dad's car, ok… it's mine—definitely mine"
There were a bunch of people, whites, blacks, Asians, Hispanics, and so many mixes. Some hipsters and gang-like personas sat on top of their cars, a woman showing off her glossy purple Chrysler 300.
"That's right, my color. This baby is also loaded with custom NOS, and equipped with TITAN7 T-S5 Cyber wheels."
"No way, those Cub Edition wheels cost about $ 2,000!"
Anne gasped and pointed to the car.
"Woah, that's a beautiful car!"
"Meh, I would have chosen red with a shiny finish."
A tall built black man, who has the words neck written on the back of his neck and chin written on his chin. He wore a black cap. with a smile like an ox, so basically no smile at all. He spotted the two surprisingly young kids, making his way. Anne does not say a word, keeping her promise to let Sasha do all the talking. It was this time many cars started to pour in, a brilliant orange matted 2018 Nissan GTR, a striking pink Chevrolet Spark, Lime Mercedes-Benz SLl55S and so much more.
"Now wait a minute. You guys' kids? Did you get lost from your daddies, ah?"
His bassy voice intimidated Anne but not Sasha.
"Believe it or not, I'm here to ride."
"Ah! You? Can you reach the pedal? Oh, of course, you can. You're like what…14?"
He said sarcastically, then putting forward his palm, not wanting to touch her, he didn't want to go to prison again for dealing with a miner.
"Listen, kid, you're not old enough to drive yet. You must leave and you speak about none of this to anyone. If you do, well…keep your house locked tonight."
Sasha couldn't hear the last few words as two sports cars came alive violently, with boisterous engines. A Smart car blasting the song 'Tokyo Drift'.
"Pretty ironic you're questioning the legality of my age at an illegal street race,"
Sasha said with a firm snap.
"Girl, how did you even find this place!?"
He yelled as he slapped his hand on his neck. He reached for his walkie-talkie, to talk with Johnny.
"Who are you calling for? The cops, ah. I could do that for you, Ya know."
She pulls out her phone.
"Ok wait! You can watch."
"I race!"
"Do you even have a car?"
"Vince's brother is gonna lend me his dark green Firebird for tonight."
"Hold up! You know Johnny, he's like the main contributor to the races. I can't believe he'll let you drive his 1995 Pontiac"
"Yeah, Vince and I go far, and John and I are getting close, so…"
"Of course, you can drive. I mean, is any of this legal, right, ah ah ah."
"Thanks!"
Sasha said, "for wasting my time…" she whispered afterward.
"Here, wear this tag, no one will question you."
"I like the sound of that. Speaking of Vince's brother, where is he?"
Sasha wore the tag and gave a look of assurance to Anne, who began to bite her nails. The man spoke to the walkie-talkie, facing away from the girls. Then nodding.
"Ok, go around the crowd, he'll be at the right side. You'll see many parked cars. He just got here so he's at the end of the parking lot."
Anne and Sasha make their way into the crowd, Everyone is hyped, gathering around the starting point, watching a Toyota Supra MK IV and a Honda Civic Si slowly making their way to the starting line, where a guy waits to single them for launch. The woman next to her purple Chrysler 300 was interrupted by one of her friends.
"Hey Sheena, do you see those two kids? Did I miss someone's baby shower?"
Sheena looked at the kids, especially at Sasha.
"I know that look. She's definitely not here for Take Your Daughter To Work Day."
"Are you saying she's gonna race!?"
"That tag wouldn't say otherwise. Anyway, I wouldn't worry about losing my car to a child. I would worry about her causing a crash."
Sheena and her friend laugh hard. Anne vaguely hears laughter from behind her as they get closer to the end of the parking lot. She notices grown adults staring at them, especially a weird-looking man with crooked teeth.
"Um, Sash, I still don't feel comfortable about this…"
"Ugh, here we go again! Complaining and complaining! You HAVE to do this dare and if this makes you feel any better, remember. I AM THE ONE WHO'S DRIVING!"
The music stopped, and everyone talking about their cars' custom gears stopped. Some facing the opposite direction but with their ears and eyes pointing towards Anne and Sasha. Anne sighed and looked down. Rubbing her left arm.
"All you gotta do is just sit there like a good girl or put your name in the book of losers."
Sasha vented out with an enormous amount of annoyance, Anne panicked,
"Sasha I'm sorry."
Sasha cooled herself, everyone continued to show off their cars. But before she could say anything to Anne...
"I know that yelling pretty well. Good to see you, Sasha."
Johnny's car just so happened to be right in front of Anne and Sasha when Sasha stopped to argue with Anne.
