I could feel beads of sweat run down my face. I had a Poke Ball clenched in my right hand and looked forward, eyeing my opponent looming over me: an alpha Gardevoir. This is just what I get for trying to complete Kirlia's Pokedex entry today; trying to observe cute Pokemon acting cute. It sounded so simple; I could report back to the professor with completed research, and maybe get paid from it. Of course, nothing's ever easy for me.

"Go, Oshawott!" I called as I tossed the Poke Ball forward. The ball popped open, releasing a blast of red light before flying back into my palm. My partner Pokemon, an Oshawott, stood in front of me with a determined look on his face. He reached down and grabbed the scalchop from his stomach and held it forward towards the Gardevoir. Unfortunately for us, the Gardevoir looked more amused than intimidated.

"Osha!" Oshawott let out a determined-sounding cry as he ran towards the opponent. Gardevoir tilted its head in confusion and watched my Pokemon run towards it. "Oshawott!"

"Oshawott, use Tackle!" I called. Oshawott nodded and leaped towards Gardevoir, hitting his whole body against Gardevoir's stomach. Unfortunately, he simply bounced off and landed on his feet. He took a step back and looked up; I figure he's finally taking a good look at his opponent. Once the size difference weighed on him, Oshawott turned around and looked at me. He didn't speak a word, but I could hear "Really? Something this big?" in my mind just from the look in his eyes.

"Come back, Oshawott!" I held out the Poke Ball, watching as Oshawott formed into a red beam of light and was sucked back into the ball. If Oshawott couldn't do it, surely I have another Pokemon that can. Raichu? Staravia? Purugly? I reached for Staravia's Poke Ball-it could at least dodge attacks from the air. "Go, Star ... avi ... a ..." My call was cut off by the Gardevoir's approach.

"Gardevoir," it spoke, looking down at me. Its red, intimidating eyes looked at me as if it was looking past my gaze and into my mind. My entire body was trembling in fear as my eyes stayed locked on the Pokemon's. What was going on with me? An alpha Pokemon has never scared me before! Well, except for a Rhyperior a few weeks back, but that thing could've killed me! "Garde ... voir ..." Gardevoir spoke again, and I could see purple waves of psychic energy slowly begin to pulse from its eyes and wave through my head.

That's all I can remember from that battle. I know that Gardevoir used some kind of psychic attack on me, and either disappeared or teleported me somewhere else. Regardless, I woke up in my futon in my room back in Jubilife Village.

"Wha?!" I shouted as I sat up in bed. My face was cold from sweat, and my pillow had a large damp spot on it. I hesitated, looking around the room. I could've sworn I was out in the field with Oshawott looking for Kirlia, and then we got ambushed by an alpha Gardevoir ... right? It tried to attack me and now ... here I am. I looked over at my satchel on the floor and grabbed for it, quickly fumbling around for the Poke Balls inside. "Oshawott, are you okay?" I asked out loud as I pressed the button on his Poke Ball.

"Oshawott!" Oshawott let out a proud-sounding call as he appeared. When he saw me, he quickly waddled over and jumped onto my legs, looking up at me. He looked very concerned. "Osha?" He asked, reaching up and touching my cheeks with his little white nub-like hands. "Oshawott?"

"I'm okay ... are you okay?" I asked. Oshawott smiled and patted the shell on his stomach.

"Osha!" Oshawott replied with a proud expression on his face. My partner's fine; that's the most important thing. Oshawott hopped off of my legs and walked towards my satchel, lifting the flap and looking inside. "Wott?" He pulled his head out and turned to look at me.

"I don't think we caught it, pal," I said. Oshawott frowned. I reached out and patted his head, which was slick from his wet, Water-type body. He smiled from my touch. "You did great. I'm sure we'll get it next time. You wanna complete the Pokedex just as much as me, right?"

"Osha!" Oshawott happily replied and nodded. I smiled and reached for his Poke Ball, recalling him. Now that I know he's okay, I need to be alone. I want to try and keep remembering. What happened after that attack? What even was the attack? I don't have a headache and I'm not in any kind of pain, so ... what do I do now?

Telling the professor was probably a bad idea. He'd be more interested in learning why the Pokemon did anything and just recommend I tell Captain Cyllene. I guess I'll start with her. If anything, she'll just command I take a break from fieldwork and get myself checked out. I stood from my futon-with no trouble standing or moving-and headed outside, making my way for the Galaxy Team HQ.

"You were attacked by an alpha Pokemon? Are you all right?"

That was the first thing Cyllene asked me, and just hearing that made me sigh in relief-someone cared. Of course, Akari and the townspeople would be concerned, but knowing my superior was more worried about me than about the Pokedex made me feel better for some reason. I nodded in reply; I didn't talk much around other people. Besides instructing my Pokemon, I found myself barely speaking at all. I don't really have much to say, I suppose.

"You need to make sure that you and your Pokemon are healthy," Cyllene said, reaching out her left arm and pointing towards the room connected to her office. "See Pesselle of the Medical Corps and get her to give you a complete examination. That is my order."

I listened to every word, but most of them flew over my head. I had never really taken a good look at my captain; her blues eyes and stern expression were actually attractive. Her short, blue hair was quite fitting for her; I just couldn't see her with long hair. It wouldn't fit her personality whatsoever. Her outfit looked professional-you couldn't see a bit of skin unless her hands counted. They didn't for me.

I wonder what kind of body she's hiding. Maybe she has a big chest and she's just got it tied down. Maybe they're smaller, but on the perky side so they're more fitting of her skinny body. I wonder if she's a good kisser and if she uses her tongue. Do they even know what kissing with your tongue is here? They have to know what sex is; there are parents in the village, after all.

I couldn't stop seeing her in a new light. I never had much interest in her-she was pretty, sure, but if I had to pick a girl from the village it would be Arezu; that's a whole different thing, though. Right now, all I care about is the stunning woman right in front of me. I wonder if there's a way I can get her on that desk and rip that outfit right off of her.

"Captain, I need to ask you something," I said. She looked surprised that I spoke up.

"Yes?" She replied, "What is it?"

"Well, when I've been going out on expeditions, you've been paying me with new crafting recipes, money, and Poke Balls," I looked away from her as I spoke. Am I really gonna go through with this? I took a deep breath, which seemed to confuse her. "I ... I can't accept that anymore. I'm going to need to ask you for a different payment for my Pokedex work."

"Payment?" Cyllene asked, looking confused and somewhat annoyed. "I am not paying you, I am rewarding you for working your way through the ranks of this team. If there's something you actually need for your job besides new Poke Balls, I'd like to hear it."

I shouldn't do this, but I have to. Something in the back of my mind was going to force the words out of my lips whether I wanted to say them or not. I gulped nervously, looking at her body before glancing at her desk. Her eyes followed my stare.

"Come on, out with it. What do you want from me?" She asked. She stepped towards me. I could feel my breathing getting heavy.

"I ... I want ..."
