The human village was hustling and bustling more than usual, the humans were moving about like busy bees, their happy idle chatter floating around like a buzz on the wind. It was an odd sight but since it was no of consequence to him he wrote it off. He had only come to visit Rin, he had been away longer than normal and he knew his young ward was more than likely missing him.

He Had not shown his face in the human village ever since he had stumbled upon the Miko being sweet on his half brother, the memory flashed in his mind like a hot blade. Sudden and jarring. Shoving the thoughts and unknown feelings to the side he continued his leisurely pace towards the hut she shared with the Miko, her kit, and his half brother.

Arching a brow at the sight that met him he could only incline his head as Rin took notice of him, her smile bright as she ran to him, her dark blue kimono flaring in the wind. It was a stark contrast to the normal checkered one she wore. It was of finer material, the obi was made of silver silk, and it held a flair to it that was almost regal.

He arched a brow at her as she latched to his legs, gazing up at him with pure adoration. "Sesshomaru-sama! You made it!" Her voice was layered with childish affection and excitement, his eyes softened if only marginally as his hand settled on the crown of her head in a rare show of affection.

"Rin knew you would never miss Kagome-chan's wedding!" His face lost any and all traces of softness as her words sunk in. Settling in the pit of his stomach to churn in the most uncomfortable of ways. It took everything he had to not pull away as the small girl grabbed it and eagerly lead him towards the hut. Pushing aside the mat he could only pause in his tracks as azure blue orbs piratically shone with light as they looked up at him.

Her lips were painted red, her eyes accented by think lines of dark kohl, her hair was pulled into the traditional hairstyle worn by human women for such a ceremony, pinned back by a dark wooden comb with cherry blossoms painted intricately on the rich wood. Her skin seemed to glow as she bowed lightly to him from her seated postion, her pristine white kimono rustling as she raised back into her seated position a serene smile on her lips.

"Nii-san, I thank you for coming. It really means a lot to me." His mouth went dry as he gave her a curt nod, a small sound of acknowledgement falling from his suddenly dry lips before he turned on his heel to leave the small hut, the churning in his stomach boiling over into a raging storm.

AN: So we've all seen the news and while I am excited to see life come back into our fandom I am not fond of certain revelations...that being said I'm going to do my best to keep things "canon" while still twisting it to fit my vision.
