Today the subject is sightings of a mysterious mask figure roaming around Star City
The figure has been seen all over the city and in each incident has left behind the beaten up criminals in there wake
The figure has so far been seen in the dead of night mainly around the rougher parts of town. No one has actually seen the figure clearly enough to give full details yet of who they are. But some details still stand out
They wear a white Japanese style mask with painted features with a black hood covering the face
The figure wears leg guards and light body armor around the chest area
The hands have light weight groves and overall gives the impression looking like what a riot cop wears. But given the how fast the figure is said to move, gives the impression they are using a different if lighter material then what the police and army have right now.
Many have said the figure speaks in a deep dark voice which sounds altered somewhat.
Overall we could say the figure is very sinister in appearance yet the people who encounter it are grateful towards it.
The police themselves have had hands full with trying to catch the mystery man, even if public support is not behind them. Commissioner Larry Lance has his own idea why
"We can use all the help we can get, but i am not one to arrest this guy.
This "Hood" will come out if and when he wants to at night but he has to eat and sleep somewhere within the city during the day. And its that point we may catch him"
All but upcoming elected official DA Sara Lance who has said in a following statement
"This masked man is crazy and if am elected I'll will capture him and put him behind bars for the good of this city"
With much of the police force and everyone else against him, this mild mannered reporter is asking a simple question directly to the masked man...
Is your crusade, this never ending battle worth it in the end?"...
BLACK CANARY:THE CITY OF MASKS
STAR CITY WAREHOUSE PIER 39
"Remember men, the boss wants him dead!" Shouted a British thug as he lead a group of other lower thugs across the empty floors of the warehouse. They don't want to face the wrath of there big boss who owned not just this pier but entire streets within Star City.
Tony Brickwell otherwise known as Brick can't be more madder then before now
"This bloody fucking HOOD didn't just interrupt my take over of the police with my own force but the damn drug shipments they had on them!"
A group of thugs surrounded there boss as the search continued as Tony's insane rage kept building up "One of them talked and brought the hood right here boss"
"SHUT IT CARL!...This is not good business and I have to answer to J about this and he don't like it when a plan gets wrong!"
Carl backed away from Brick after speaking about J and it seems to make the rest of them scared that very sound of the name.
Meanwhile across the warehouse, boxful of wine smashed into the ground as a scar faced thug looked up into the celling...
"I FOUND HIM!"
STATELY LANCE MANOR
"Thank you all for helping me become the next new DA of Star City. Am sure all of you know of my great dad already Larry Lance and of course my two wonderful sisters Laurel Lance and Thea Lance. Three supports in this running for law and order in the city but there was one other not here tonight.
Dinah Drake Lance better known as a Mayor Drake and a great mom
She want missing five years ago and we still mourning her loss to us
But I know she is happy somewhere for me and my great sisters...

"Great sisters" my ass Sara" Thea said bitterly as nodded her bored head in anger at Sara's overly fake smile. She had looked down at her phone to check on Laurel again only to see the picture of Laurel's bodyguard John Diggle
"JOHN! where the hell is Laurel?" Thea almost screamed into the bodyguard's ear with more anger toward him
"Ummm yeah she is on a date right now.."
"A DATE!WHERE THE HELL IS SHE?"
"A nice sight seeing tour of the docks"
"WHO IS J? BRICKWELL AND I WANT ANSWERS RIGHT NOW"
The black hooded figure yelled out as Brick laughed at them. His fists held tight as he circled around the Hood
"Your bloody not going to get answers friend, J doesn't like it and basically I don't ether...so am just going to have to beat you up then!"
Brick hit one of his heavy fists at the Hood as they ducked out of it and still feeling the force of it. This guy was angry as he screamed out at them, quickly the Hood noticed a dislocated steam pipe from the hand of a knocked out thug. Gripping ahold of it, they begin twist it around at the massive crime boss.
"Weapons don't scare me mate!"
The Hood this time was laughing at him "...WELL GET SCARED MATE!"
As they quickly begin hitting both sides of his face with the pipe as he yelled out in pain a bit. Suddenly a higher yell Brick picked up the Hood and he punched them some of the mask off a bit, as they both fell over into a half flooded area of the old warehouse.
Just as Brick was about to punch the Hood, they cartwheeled kick him as he was sent flying into a set of old tools
The Hood nearly out of breath from the fight was laughing again at him "...ARE WE HAVING SOME FUN YET BRICKWELL?"
Brick don't answer as screamed out in anger as he get up for yet another round...
...The Hood not feeling like taking him on again, looked around the flooded area to see some loose boards and with some get moves to the pipe smashed up the board. As Brick and the Hood suddenly fell into the river with a enough force knock him out.
Moments went by before the Hood finally brought the massive crime boss to the shores near the warehouse
As the Hood suddenly get blinded a bit by a car spotlight as Diggle run toward them as they take some strong rope to tie Brickwell down "...Your late again John!"
Diggle smiled at the Hood as they both kicked over his body "I guess he lives to see prison walls along with the rest of his gang"
Suddenly the Hood noticed a torn coat pocket and lay there hands on some sort of metal item...
"Whoever said this was his gang at all?.
He and the corrupt cops were linked together by someone else along with the drugs, someone with connections through out all of Star City "
Diggle heard the sound of police sirens "...We better get going before we have explain to your father what the hell your doing here"
The Hood with now half broken Japanese Noh mask looked at Brick before picking up a discorded spray can. Laying carefully down near Brick and begin to spray out something for at least what there father would find.
"Now we can go and see how Sara is doing"
Running now back into the black car as Brick lay still as a few seconds later come in a whole squad of police and swat cars
Commissioner Lance looked down to see spray painted across Brick's nice new London suit and overcoat was one name
Black Siren
"This Hood guy should use arrows or some other dumb trick if they wanted be like there in the comic books"
Thea Lance said jokingly to some high class friends as one of them spoke up "...I don't know about arrows with this guy since he just uses raw fists when he saved my life one night in Glades park. Blooded up the guy really good before I come back with a police officer"
Thea just nodded sadly toward her girlfriend "...Well some good then comes from the Hood"
"DID SOMEONE SAY HOODS!
I just saw the nicest winter hood combo at Second and Adams. Am just thinking it would look great on me"
As Thea turned to see her now really late sister making a big scene as usual for everyone around her
"hello Laurel how was your date?" Thea said flatly as Laurel Lance smiled widely as the crowd around them went elsewhere
Her grin stopped as they walked around the huge mansion ballroom "...Like hitting a real brick wall with your fists...damn guy must have jaws of iron as well"
Thea really looked serious worried about her as she hugged her tightly "Stop this..."
Laurel was now looking worried but in a different way as she answered "Stop what am doing?...No I can't not now!"
Thea still don't get what this meant to Laurel...
"Thea this is what mom left me in terms of a legacy and maybe it was somewhat wrong to tell you about her being this figure, she created"
Thea just nodded her head at her in disappointment "Maybe it wasn't a good thing to tell me about it in the first place...Stop THIS now before you end up dead or worst with this legacy of hers!"
"Thea!" Laurel said bitterly as her sister walked away before turning around to see Kara Kent looking pretty great in a red dress
"Do I sense some tension between you and Thea?" Kara questioned as Laurel come close to the rather tall reporter
"No more then when we were still dating in National City at the time, Kara!. I still have some questions about parts of that piece you once about me in during your time at the Daily Planet!"
Kara smiled widely and somehow more bitterly then Lance as they looked at each other "I was just starting out my career there when I met you Laurel and I never had done a mistake in my life until I met you.
You had this idea that what I told of you Lances was the truth!..."
Laurel laughed a bit at that "My mother Dinah Drake was NOT behind the Undertaking!.."
Kara coldly told her
"...Tell that to ether Lena Luthor or Tommy Merlin!
That woman was behind the worst disaster to hit National City and these two went blood no matter what"
Laurel walked away from Kara before she was to face with Sara...
Sara was laughing at someone's joke before suddenly seeing her bitter sister
"Well someone upset" Sara said as she take her sister to the center of the dance floor "What the hell is wrong anyway Laurel?"
"Ohhhh its...Thea and Kara, all this crap about what happened to mom during the Undertaking incident in National City...damn it I just wish she was here at all"
Sara just led her sister in slow dance nodding her head "Nether you or mom could do anything when you even there mainly because nether of you were heroes. What happened to Lena's brother and Tommy's father was your fault. And I don't think mom did it ether...
As for Thea well she always been more emotional around...this "thing" we have and I can't tell you its hard for me as well..."
Laurel was laughing out loud to Sara's amusement "A "thing" that's you call what we do way from your public life Sara?"
Sara laughed a little as she come close to Laurel's ear "What else would call what my big sister does during some rather lonely nights in the DA's office then?"
Laurel was smiling again for once at Sara and those around them "I say I'll think about taking that up Sara!"
She spotted Diggle across the ballroom as Sara take on a handsome young man as a dancing partner
"Come to the second floor...I just figure out what that item is!"
Laurel rushed up with him to the second floor and into the double doors of a old unused dining hall. She and Diggle push together a old grandfather clock as it give way into a more polished hallway.
She looked to see Thea rest her legs on the computer as the lights around them turned on

Diggle looked around the room as the voice spoke up "Its amazing Dinah Drake had like something this back then.."
Laurel smiled at her bodyguard "She never even told me who even build the Oracle and I don't think I learned half of what is in its old programs yet!. But what is it you found out about what I got from Brick?"
"...Cards! actually the least interesting thing about the badly dressed English gangster" Thea said in a rather bored tone still as Diggle nodded no toward the both of them
"No just one card that begins with the letter J. You two may not know but I been taking with Diana Prince of ARGUS and she thinks above Amanda in saying maybe the Overtaking was done by one man...a man so insane and clever that he is wanted now in both National and Gotham..."
Laurel looked at the card again, it had a old painting of a smiling clown on it
THE JOKER
Diggle went on "...I think this drug deal just get a whole lot worse if The Joker is heading it!"
Next Chapter: Legacy of the Black Siren
Writer's note: This is meant to be a very different M rated take on the Arrowverse, such as the Undertaking plan taking place in National City as opposite to Star City. And was planned by the Joker
(Also it seems like actual DC shows since the infamous Batwoman show and Titans both don't want to do the Joker(by quickly killing him offscreen!), I thought I use the super villain taking on Black Canary. Which to me is a cool idea
Laurel Lance/Black Canary is a more high leveled fighter here compared to the show where she was a third behind Sara. In her public life she is meant to be more like a Paris Hilton type of heiress(also she has lesbian incest with both her sisters but that's a minor thing for her ;)
The "Black Siren" is meant to be a old name used by Dinah Drake that Laurel is using as well. She does don more a "villainous" look for some undercover work in a later chapter.
Thea is now a Lance sister and Larry Lance is the police commissioner of Star City. He is more close to his two daughters but he and Laurel grow more apart.
Wonder Woman is here(also called Amazon since there plans for her on the CW which not going forward.. for now)
And also a more interesting slightly darker take on Supergirl/Kara Kent
Killer Frost(Caitlin Snow) and Iris West Allen is also here as the Flash but a bit lighter compared to Kara
Diggle and ARGUS are still roughly the same as the early seasons of ARROW(but he is meeting with Agent Diana Prince not Lyla Michaels) .
But the reason Laurel Lance becomes a vigilante in Star City is more to follow what her mother Dinah Drake did in the past, is more in keeping with what the original comics said of it as opposite to the show.
Since (mother)Dinah on the show there wasn't a fighter!? which I found odd on the show runners part.
And yes I know ARROW in later seasons had several other women given the "name" of Black Canary including a unrelated Dinah Drake. Just making up the fact that the show runners ether don't care enough about Laurel as a superhero and just a pretty love interest for some reason. Generally they were just lazy with the "original" Black Canary which to me was Laurel.
And yes generally this Black Canary is more like a female BATMAN here as opposite to the Canary from even the show
