Uncharted
Groaning Kagome could only roll onto her side, her back protesting in pain as she laid in her futon. Winter had fully descended on the small village and the chill in the air seeped into her bones despite the many layers of blankets and robes that were piled on top of her.
Add in the fact that she couldn't find a comfortable position to sleep in...she was hard pressed to find the energy to get out of bed and face the day. So much for that glow that all pregnant women were supposed to have, she looked and felt like crap. She knew she had deep purple bags under her eyes, her stomach was finally showing, and while she knew it was due to the life growing inside of her she couldn't help but to feel fat.
Not to mention that her feet were always killing her and she was almost always tired. Sango had laughed at her and told her that this was nothing, once the morning sickness and random bouts of honriness kicked in this would seem like a walk in the park.
She knew her friend was merely trying to cheer her up, to use the humor as a way to hide her own worry. According to Sesshoumaru no one had ever heard of a child convinced between a half demon and a human, let alone a miko.
They were in uncharted waters.
Miroku suggested they treat it like a hanyou pregnancy which Sesshomaru readily agreed to. Her meals had become meat based, high in protein and more on the rarer side then she was used to but she choked it down. Jaken was often tasked with making sure she cleaned her plate at all meals.
Just thinking of it made her stomach churn, they might as well have just given it to her raw. The meat was so pink she could swear she could hear it moo at her.
"Ugh.." She felt puke claw its way up her throat, clamping a hand over her mouth she scampered to her feet and lunged towards the door that led from her room to outside. If she was going to get sick she didn't want to do it in the house. Her limbs screamed at her as they cramped from the sudden chill that they were exposed to.
Gasping she felt her legs buckle under her, instantly her hands moved to curl protectively around her stomach, her eyes clenching shut. Strong warm arms caught her, pulling her into a warm chest.
She eeped as vertigo made her world spin, her stomach lurched and she could only clamp her hands around her mouth as she tried her best to hold it back.
Sesshoumaru was hard pressed to not scrunch his nose up as the scent of her sickness reached his nose. It was with quick movements that he placed her on the cold wooden walkway that led between her room to the outside. Her small body trembled as she sat on her knees, her body leaning over so she could empty her stomach's contents onto the snow covered ground.
He did his best to ignore the scent of it and instead held back her unruly raven locks so as to keep them from being caught up in her bout of sickness. Her small body lurched as she finished, tears leaking from her eyes as she wiped her mouth with the sleeve of her thick winter sleeping yukata.
He could feel her shame and embarrassment, it made him want to sigh, she had no reason to feel such things. It was normal for pregnant women to get sick, hell it was natural yet here she was shrinking away from him and muttering apologies under her breath.
Letting her raven hair fall from his fingers he moved his hand lower to rub her back as she tried to clear her throat, he was hard pressed to not smirk at the small startled squeak she made. Her body tensing up as he rubbed her back in small soothing motions.
He had done the same with Rin when she found herself sick, so it was only natural for him to offer her the same comfort.
Kagome could only flush as she relaxed, taking the comfort he was offering, she felt like she was in uncharted waters, adrift in a sea of foreign feelings and thoughts. The embarrassment of puking in front of someone, let alone Sesshoumaru of all people, was still there yet she was honestly too tired to really care. The warmth from his body coupled with the soothing motions of his hand on her back made her body relax.
She let out another startled squeak as Sesshoumaru gathered her into his arms, standing as he moved to enter the house once again. With steady strides he made his way towards the built in hot spring, stopping outside of the door and setting her back down on her feet.
"Clean up, I'll have Jaken take care of the mess." His voice was low, no doubt not wanting to wake up the still sleeping kids. She could only nod her head, not able to meet his gaze...damn Sango for jinxing her! Not only had the morning sickness kicked in but it seemed the random bouts of horniness had as well!
