I've never written for this series before, and I haven't watched the whole thing since I was 9, so forgive me for any discrepancies. The body switch situation in ep. 41 interested me... I really wanted to see what happened in their second switch (Miyako in Kaoru's body, Kaoru in Momoko's body, and Momoko in Miyako's body).

I didn't mean to make it Miyako x Kaoru, but it seemed to fit the situation :P (Keep in mind this takes place before ep. 44, where Kaoru willingly dresses girly).

Miyako stared at the dark-haired girl in the changing room's mirror, appreciating how the patterned skirt looked on her. She pondered the other outfits she had already tried on as she twirled a strand of her bob around her finger.

She'd been hoping to visit the new shop today in her own body, but due to the mishap with Fuzzy Lumpkins, they'd gotten swapped a second time; so after spending all of yesterday in Momoko's body and getting dragged around by Kuriko, she was now trapped in Kaoru's body instead. Not wanting to deal with an extra sibling and the embarrassment of sharing a house with three men (as she'd been told by a red-faced Momoko), she opted to spend the day outside instead.

Of course, she hadn't told the real Kaoru where she'd be going, otherwise she would've definitely been stopped. Kaoru probably thought Miyako was at her house like the other two anyway, too occupied with dealing with Momoko's younger sister to check. She already has a little brother, so I'm sure it won't be too difficult for her.

Miyako had been upset about the switch at first, but after the group had calmed down and planned their next course of action, she decided that this would be a good opportunity. She'd always secretly wondered how Kaoru would look in girlier clothes, and now here the other girl was, ready and willing to be dolled up by Miyako. Because she was controlling her.

She'd already done a number of things to her body — getting her hair straightened at a salon, trying on makeup at a mall, and now filtering through frilly outfits at the cute new clothing store. It was everything she had done before with Momoko, but never with her other, more tomboyish friend. It was fun, even if walking around as Kaoru wasn't how she'd anticipated eventually going on a shopping trip with her.

She leaned closer towards the mirror, It's too bad Kaoru-san isn't here to see herself. She looks stunning like this...

Miyako had always admired Kaoru for her coolness and athleticism. She'd be lying if she said she didn't have a tiny girl crush on her — feelings for Takaaki aside. But after seeing her in a skirt for the first time all those months ago, and getting to know Kaoru's real personality better, she realized that the rough and tumble girl had a hidden cute side to her as well. She could respond well to teasing, turning away with her face lighting up faster than she would admit, and her care and selflessness for those who managed to break past her tough exterior went far beyond anything she'd seen from most people in her life.

She thought she'd be able to uncover more of this side by dressing her up in cute clothes — and she had, yet it wasn't quite the same without the real person there. As Miyako continued to gaze at her reflection, she found herself missing the old Kaoru, just a bit. She shook her head, It's alright, Miyako. You'll see her again soon, so you need to enjoy this moment for as long as it lasts.

Flipping her short hair back, she grabbed all the outfits and put them on the used rack, walking out in the ensemble she'd just tried on. She didn't have enough in her allowance to get everything, unfortunately, but the outfit she was wearing was too perfect to leave without.

It was too soon to unveil this version of Kaoru to everyone else, she lamented, especially to the girl herself (how angry could she get at someone like Miyako? An impressive amount, probably). However, perhaps Kaoru would find a new surprise in her closet later.
