The Phantom Zone

"I'm sorry I dragged you into this." Kara said, locked in a cage with Clark next to her.

"I would've come with you either way." Clark said.

They watched as Zor-El was then dragged into a cage next to them, looking beaten up and having cuts across his body.

"Dad!" Kara exclaimed.

"I'm alright. It's nothing I haven't endured before." Zor-El assured, even though Kara and Clark looked at him worriedly, considering his injuries.

"How are we gonna get out of here?" Kara asked.

"I know how Zod thinks. I've dealt with the likes of him before." Clark said as an idea began forming in his mind, while they saw another gladiator finish off the other before Clark to Kara and Zor-El. "Do you trust me?"

Kara and Zor-El nodded as Clark began telling them his plan.

Avengers Compound, New York

"Well?" Steve asked as they approached Bruce, Ray and Cisco, who were at the computers, while Vision was lying on the examination table, with the beams of some hi-tech scanner above him shining onto him.

"Well, the equipment we've got from S.T.A.R. Labs and the tech isn't good enough to remove the Stone, at least not without killing him in the process." Cisco said.

"Like I said, there's only one thing we can do." Vision said.

"This is not up for discussion." Wanda protested.

"I told you, we don't trade lives, Vision." Steve said.

"If you can't remove the Stone from me, it's the only option left." Vision pointed out.

"We need to find the right equipment to remove it." Ray said.

"Maybe we can go to Earth-2 or—" Cisco started.

"I know somewhere." Steve said, realizing who could help.

Peter went aside as he pulled out his phone and dialed Aunt May's number as he began filling her in on what was he up to, which clearly didn't please her at all.

"Peter, you can't go. It's too dangerous." Aunt May said.

"May, I have to go with them. They need me." Peter said.

"What are you talking about? They don't need you. Just come home." Aunt May asked pleadingly, her voice breaking.

"I couldn't help back in New York but this is my chance. It's my responsibility, May. You remember what Uncle Ben and Dad used to say?" Peter reminded and he could swear he could hear her sob.

"That he believed that if we could do good things for other people, it's our moral obligation to do those things." Aunt May said and Peter could tell she was on verge of tears. "And that with great power…"

"…there must also come great responsibility." Peter finished and Aunt May sighed heavily, while suppressing sobs.

"Alright. I understand. Just promise me you'll be careful. I can't take it if I lose you too." Aunt May begged.

"Everyone's gonna have each other's backs. Don't worry about me. I love you, May." Peter said.

"I love you too, Peter." Aunt May said before he hung up.

"You OK?"

Peter turned to face Barry. "Yeah, yeah."

"Your girlfriend?" Barry asked.

"My aunt, actually. May's the only family I have left." Peter explained and Barry nodded in understanding.

"She knows?" Barry asked.

"There was one time I almost got killed and she found passed out on the bed, still in my costume. She freaked out at first but I explained to her why I do what I do. She's not happy about it but I'm trying to be careful." Peter said as he sighed. "Honestly, I can't imagine a world in which I'd lose her. Sometimes I wonder how you guys can do what you do. You always stay focused, even in the worst situations."

"You gotta remember what's at stake. Who and what you fight for. And what you could lose if you fail." Barry said, turning to Oliver and Natasha and Peter nodded in understanding.

"That's quite a burden. Sometimes too heavy to carry." Peter said, knowing what other heroes had lost in the past as he felt some sympathies for Barry.

"That's why others are there with you to help you carry it. We'll stop them, Pete. Together." Barry assured, placing his hand on Peter's shoulder as he nodded.

"I just wish it was that easy for me to believe it, Barry." Peter said.

"Then remember that you're not in this alone. We all have each other's back." Barry said as Peter smiled appreciatively and nodded.

Later, Wakanda

T'Challa, Okoye and a small group of Dora Milaje were walking down the jungle as they were approaching the city.

"The Kingsguard and the Dora Milaje have been alerted." Okoye said.

"And the Border Tribe?" T'Challa asked.

"Those that are left." Okoye confirmed.

"Send the word to the Jabari as well." T'Challa ordered. "M'Baku likes a good fight."

Okoye gave orders to the Dora Milaje in Xhosa before approaching a nearby hut, where Bucky Barnes, who was missing his right arm, was also feeding some goats. "And what of this one?" She asked.

"This one may be tired of war. But the White Wolf has rested long enough." T'Challa said.

The Dora Milaje placed a case on a food cart and opened it as Bucky took a look at the case, revealing a vibranium arm inside it.

"Where's the fight?" Bucky asked.

"On its way." T'Challa said.

The Phantom Zone

Clark had been returned to the arena, with Kara observing from a cage as she saw Clark taking a sword and a shield with his new armor from a stand before she saw her father, similarly geared up with a pair of swords, enter the arena as she stared in horror. She still couldn't believe that her father and her cousin would be fighting each other. They turned to Zod, who was sitting on his throne before he nodded, starting the fight.

Clark barely had time to raise his shield to block as Zor-El attacked with his sword. They attacked and parried with their swords before Zor-El cut Clark across arm as Clark fell on his knees. Clark had to admit, for his age and a scientist, Zor-El was a competent fighter, which was most likely due to having to survive in this hellhole for years. Clark used his shield to block as Zor-El attacked with his swords again and sparks went off upon metal hitting metal. Clark parried and blocked with his sword and shield and dodged as Zor-El attempted to stab him before dodging his kick. Clark continued the blocking routine until he found an opening and kicked Zor-El in the chest, sending him to the ground, while Zor-El lost the grip of one of his swords, dropping it.

Zod smirked, with his interest piqued, while Kara looked worriedly, not wanting to see her father and cousin kill each other.

Wakanda

The Quinjet was flying to the capital, with Sam at the cockpit.

"Drop to 2600, heading 0-3-0." Steve ordered.

"I hope you're right about this or we're gonna land a lot faster than you want to." Sam said.

The jet flew through the holographic image of the jungle as the shield opened to reveal Wakanda and landed on a platform near the palace, while T'Challa and Okoye accompanied by a small group of Dora Milaje and Kingsguard awaited them.

The Quinjet opened as the group exited the plane.

"Should we bow?" Bruce asked, while putting on his jacket.

"Yeah, he's a king." Rhodey said.

"Seems like I'm always thanking you for something." Steve said as he approached T'Challa, while they shook hands.

Bruce bowed as Rhodey looked at him awkwardly, clearing his throat. "What are you doing?"

"Uh, we don't do that here." T'Challa said.

Bruce got up and upon noticing Rhodey's chuckle, Bruce chuckled back at the realization that he had been pranked. Clearly, Tony was rubbing off of Rhodey.

"So how big of an assault should we expect?" T'Challa asked.

"Uh, sir, I think you should expect quite a big assault." Bruce said.

"I hope your army is enough against Thanos's." Oliver said.

"You will have my Kingsguard, the Border Tribe, the Dora Milaje and…" T'Challa gestured as Bucky approached.

"…a semi-stable 100-year-old man." Bucky said as he and Steve hugged each other.

"How you been, Buck?" Steve asked as he pulled away and patted Bucky.

"Uh, not bad for the end of the world." Bucky said with a chuckle.

They carried Vision to the lab as he laid on an examination table, while Shuri was scanning him with her bead bracelet before looking at the holographic image of the Mind Stone.

"Wow, remind me to get a tour here, if we make it out of this alive." Cisco said as he around, amazed by Wakanda's technology like an excited teenager.

"Right now we have more pressing matters, Mr. Ramon but we shall see." T'Challa chuckled, amused.

"The structure is polymorphic." Shuri said.

"Right, we had to attach each neuron non-sequentially." Bruce said.

"Why didn't you just reprogram the synapses to work collectively?" Shuri asked.

"We didn't design the body. It was Ultron and we prevented him from taking over Vision's body and uploaded JARVIS into it." Bruce explained.

"Can you do it?" Wanda asked and Shuri nodded.

"Yes, but there are more than two trillion neurons here. One misalignment could cause a cascade of circuit failures." Shuri explained as she turned to T'Challa. "It will take time, brother."

T'Challa nodded in understanding.

"How long?" Steve asked.

"As long as you can give me." Shuri said.

An alert blared on Okoye's bead bracelet as she raised her hand and a holographic imaging of Earth appeared on her bracelet. "Something's entering the atmosphere."

Outside, Sam and Bucky watched as a dropship crashed above them upon impacting with the city's dome shield, exploding upon impact but not penetrating the barrier.

"God, I love this place." Bucky said.

"Well, don't start celebrating yet." Rhodey said, while wearing his War Machine suit as he turned his head to see more dropships in the sky. "We got more incoming outside the dome."

In the tower they looked outside as the dropships landed outside the dome.

"They're here." Barry realized.

"It's too late. We need to destroy the stone now." Vision said as he got up from the table.

"Vision, get back on the table." Sara ordered.

"We will hold them off." T'Challa said, walking off with his Dora Milaje as Steve turned to Wanda.

"Wanda, as soon as that stone's out of his head, you blow it to hell." Steve ordered.

"I will." Wanda nodded.

"Evacuate the city. Engage all defenses." T'Challa ordered before turning to Steve. "And get this man a shield." He said and Steve nodded before T'Challa turned his attention to Barry. "Mr. Allen."

Barry turned to T'Challa, while two of his servants handed T'Challa a case that he opened, revealing a vibranium sword.

"This sword has been in my family for generations. In your language, it is called 'Lightning Strike'. May its blade aid you in the upcoming battle." T'Challa said as Barry took the sword, pulling it out if the scabbard to reveal red and silver shining steel.

"Cool." Barry said. He was not as skilled with weapons as everyone else but given his training with Oliver and others over the years and his crimefighting experience, he was enough of a skilled fighter to adapt, so hopefully, this sword was not going to hinder him anyhow.

Like in my story 'Come Together' and Stand with Ward and Queen's 'Crisis on two earths, I thought it would be a good idea for Barry to have a sword. Thank you to Stand for this idea.

So, what do you guys think?
