The pod flew to the rings outside the forge, with Rocket piloting the pod and Thor being outside.
"I don't think you get the scientifics here." Rocket said as Thor jumped down with a rope tied to the pod. "These rings are gigantic. You wanna get them moving, you're gonna need something a lot bigger to yank them loose."
"Leave that to me." Thor assured.
"Leave it to you? Buddy, you're in space. All you got is a rope and a—" Rocket yelped as Thor began spinning the pod around for it to gain speed.
"Fire the engines!" Thor ordered as he jumped.
Rocket flew the pod towards one of the rings as Thor buried his feet in one of the rings, while the frozen rings began to move slowly as the ice cracked.
"More power, rabbit!" Thor shouted.
Rocket flew the pod at full speed as the rings began moving until they were aligned and the star at the center began glowing.
"Well done, boy." Eitri said, impressed.
"That's Nidallevir." Thor gestured to the glowing star as Rocket stared in amazement.
The star shot out a beam to the forge but a part of the mechanism broke as it closed and stopped the beam.
"Damn it." Eitri sighed.
"'Damn it'? What's 'damn it'?" Rocket demanded.
"The mechanism is crippled." Eitri explained.
"What?" Thor demanded.
"With the iris closed, I can't heat the metal." Eitri explained.
"How long will it take to heat it?"
"A few minutes, maybe more. Why?"
"I'm gonna open it." Thor said.
"That's suicide." Eitri pointed out.
"So is facing Thanos without that axe." Thor said as he jumped towards the forge.
At the same time, Wakanda
The carriers with Wakandan soldiers and the heroes were flying to the edge of the barrier, with Sam with his wings and Rhodey in his War Machine suit, Ray in his Atom suit and Bruce in the Hulkbuster armor flying in the air.
"How are we looking, Bruce?" Natasha asked.
"Yeah, I think I'm getting the hang of it." Bruce said as he landed and tried to walk. "Wow! This is amazing, man. It's like being the Hulk without actually—" He stumbled on a rock and fell down. "I'm OK. I'm OK." He assured as he got up to his feet, getting the grass off the visor.
"I've got two heat signatures breaking through the tree line." Rhodey said.
"I see them." Ray said.
From the dropships marched forward Proxima Midnight and Cull Obsidian, while Wakandan soldiers jumped down from the shuttles and got into formations, with M'Baku and his Jabari soldiers chanting before T'Challa and M'Baku shook hands.
"Thank you for standing with us." T'Challa said.
"Of course, brother." M'Baku assured in Xhosa.
Proxima ran her sword down the barrier as Steve, Natasha, Oliver and T'Challa approached.
"Where's your other friend?" Natasha quipped.
"You will pay for his life with yours. Thanos will have that stone." Proxima promised.
"Not if we have anything to say about it." Oliver said.
"You are in Wakanda now. Thanos will have nothing but dust and blood." T'Challa said.
"We have blood to spare." Proxima said and at the gesture of her hand, the dropships opened as the group returned back to T'Challa's army.
"Are they gonna pack up and go?" Cisco asked lamely.
"Not really." Oliver said as they realized that the fight was about to begin.
"Yibambe!" T'Challa shouted, while the army chanted.
Proxima gestured with her sword and suddenly they saw a black wave cover the grounds in front of them.
"What the hell?" Bucky whispered and as the wave neared them, they noticed that the wave consisted of four-armed black creatures with giant jaws with sharp teeth.
"Looks like we pissed her off." Natasha said.
"You think?" Sara asked sarcastically.
"What was the first clue?" Cisco snapped.
The Outriders were running through the barrier despite that it was burning them, ignoring the pain, while some of them were cut in two.
"They're killing themselves." Okoye whispered.
Much to their shock, the Outriders began to get through the barrier as the Wakandans raised their shields and prepared their spears on T'Challa's command before they opened fire, with Bucky and Frank firing from their machine guns, Oliver shooting arrow after arrow, Bruce firing from the repulsors in the Hulkbuster armor, Ray firing from the blasters in his Atom suit and Sam firing at them from above with his pistols before he deployed three minidrones that cut down the Outriders.
"You see the teeth on those things?" Sam asked.
"All right, back up, Sam. You're gonna get your wings singed." Rhodey said as he flew at the edge of the barrier, dropping bombs at the Outriders.
They noticed the Outriders circling around the barrier as the realization hit them.
"Cap, if these things circle the perimeter and get in behind us, there's nothing between them and Vision." Bruce pointed out.
"Then we keep them in front of us." Steve said.
"How do we do that?" Okoye asked.
"We open the barrier." T'Challa said as he reached for his comms. "On my signal, open northwest section 17."
"Requesting confirmation, my king. You said, 'open the barrier'?" The tech asked.
"On my signal." T'Challa confirmed.
"This will be the end of Wakanda." M'Baku said.
"Then it will be the noblest ending in history." Okoye said.
On T'Challa's command, his army turned off their shields as everyone prepared for battle.
"Wakanda forever!" T'Challa yelled as he put on his Black Panther mask and brandished his claws and with a roar, the army charged forward.
Steve and T'Challa jumped into the air as Steve knocked down some Outriders and began exchanging blows with them and T'Challa cut them down with his claws. Barry and Pietro were speeding around, with Barry cutting the Outriders down with his sword, while Pietro knocked them down and Cisco blasted some away with vibe beams, while Caitlin used freeze blasts, with the rest joining the fray and exchanging blows with the Outriders.
"How much longer, Shuri?" T'Challa asked over the comms.
"I've barely begun, brother." Shuri said.
"You might want to pick up the pace." T'Challa said.
Nidavellir
Thor stood at the mechanism opening the gate as he took a breath. "Allfathers, give me strength."
"You understand, boy? You're about to take the full force of a star. It'll kill you." Eitri explained.
"Only if I die." Thor said as he took a breath.
"Yes. That's what killing you means." Eitri said.
Thor grabbed the levers and grunted in effort as he pulled, opening the iris door, while the beam of the star began burning him and the beam shot out, burning the furnace as well, melting the Uru metal in the vat.
"Hold it! Hold it, Thor!" Eitri ordered as he went to see the metal melt. Eitri poured the melted metal into the mold, with Thor exposed to the full power of the star, roaring in pain until he passed out, flying back to the forge as Rocket followed him. Thor landed on the ground, while Rocket landed the pod and Groot looked up from playing his game and both rushed to Thor.
"Thor! Say something. Come on." Rocket said as he shook Thor. "Thor, you OK?"
Eitri dropped the mold and smashed it to reveal pieces of the axe.
"I think he's dying." Rocket said.
"He needs the axe. Where's the handle?" Eitri looked around. "Tree, help me find the handle!"
Groot considered before he got up and grew his hand into entangled branches, wrapping them around the pieces of the axe and connecting them. Groot lifted his arm into the air and cut it off to finish the weapon. The fingers in Thor's hands began to crack with lightning and twitch as the Stormbreaker began floating into the air, pulsing with lightning.
Wakanda
Oliver, Bucky and Frank continued firing at the Outriders before one of them knocked Bucky's machine gun away from him and knocked him down, trying to claw at him, while Bucky was using his knife to stab him, with Frank similarly overpowered. Oliver defended himself with his bow but soon enough was overpowered as well, using his bow to make sure another Outrider wouldn't sink its jaws at his face.
Steve, Natasha, T'Challa, Sara, Matt, Cisco, Caitlin, Dick, Bruce, Rhodey, Ray, Barry, Pietro and Peter were fighting as many aliens as they could but they just kept coming.
Rhodey and Ray fired at the Outriders from above before Cull entered through the gap in the barrier and threw his hammer, sending Rhodey falling to the ground, while Ray dodged. Barry and Pietro were trying to take out as many Outriders as they could but even for speedsters, there was too many of them to handle. T'Challa was knocked down as two Outriders began clawing at him and throwing him around like a ragdoll. One Outrider pinned Steve to a nearby rock before another lunged at him, knocking him down as several of them began clawing at him. Dick jumped and avoided, while throwing batarangs and smoke bombs, trying to keep his distance but there was only so many gadgets at his disposal and the rest wasn't faring any better.
"There's too many of them!" Bruce screamed in panic, sure he was about to die as the Outriders were clawing their way through the Hulkbuster.
Suddenly, a large beam of light struck the battlefield as Stormbreaker flew out, spinning around like a boomerang, lightning emanating from the weapon and taking out the Outriders in its way and getting them off Steve, Oliver, T'Challa and Bruce before the axe returned to the beam of light from which emerged Thor in his battle armor, with Rocket on his shoulder and Groot at his side.
Everyone stared in disbelief and as the heroes felt hope rising. With Thor and his new allies at their side, the tide would turn in their favor soon enough.
"Haha!" Bruce laughed as he retracted the mask. "You guys are so screwed now!"
Proxima and Cull stared in disbelief. How could Thor have survived?
"Bring me Thanos!" Thor shouted, lightning surging through him as he, Groot and Rocket charged forward with a roar before Thor leapt into the air with lightning surging from the axe. Thor brought the axe to the ground and upon impact, the following shockwave took out a considerable amount of the Outriders.
The Phantom Zone
The fight continued, making it look like an epic duel between two warriors. Zor-El recovered and attacked again but Clark once again blocked and parried before he knocked the other sword off Zor-El's hand. Clark attacked with his shield but Zor-El grabbed it as both men struggled, disarming Clark and bashing him across his face with the shield, knocking Clark down as he spat out blood. Zor-El picked his sword and was about to finish Clark off but Clark grabbed his hand and pushed him back before punching him across his face as Zor-El fell down on the ground.
Clark was about to rush at him and punch him again but Zor-El grabbed the sword he had dropped earlier from the ground and whirled around, stabbing Clark in the chest.
"No!" Kara cried out.
Clark fell on his knees, with Zor-El raising his sword, about to deliver the killing blow.
"Kill! Kill! Kill! Kill!"
"Stop." Zod ordered, forcing Zor-El to lower his sword.
Kara looked relieved before Zod stepped down from his throne and pulled out his sword as he looked at Clark condescendingly before Zod turned to Zor-El.
"Congratulations. At last I have found a brother-in-arms worth joining me. But this… this kill is mine." Zod said and Zor-El nodded before Zod turned to Clark. "And now, Kal-El, you will know my vengeance."
Zod raised his sword, when Zor-El grabbed him by his arm before Zod could kill Clark and Clark grabbed the crystal from Zod's neck, pulling it as the thread of the necklace snapped. Zor-El threw Zod towards Kara's cage, shattering the door, allowing her to get out and she punched Zod in the face, dazing him before she rushed to Clark and Zor-El, while Zod glared at them.
"I will have my revenge." Zod vowed.
"No more second chances." Clark said as a blinding blue glow consumed him, Kara and Zor-El, while Clark crushed the crystal in his hand and when the glow faded, they were gone.
Staring at the spot where the members of House of El had been a moment earlier, Zod seethed before he roared in rage. "No!"
Wakanda
Oliver, Matt and Dick were in a tight circle, fending off the Outriders. Oliver used his bow to block claws of one of them before stabbing him with an arrow, Matt used his billy clubs and blocked before he jumped and kicked down the Outriders, Dick was flipping and knocking down the Outriders coming his way before they saw Oliver getting knocked down. Dick pulled out several batarangs as they beeped and he threw them at the Outriders and the batarangs exploded, taking the Outriders out, while Matt helped Oliver on his feet.
"Ready for another wave?" Matt asked.
"Don't tell me you're getting tired." Oliver said as they chuckled.
Cull took out several Wakandans with his hammer before T'Challa jumped at him, with his suit charged up and the kinetic blast knocked Cull down upon impact.
"Come and get some, space dogs!" Rocket cheered as he opened fire at the Outriders.
Seeing a large pack of the Outriders coming their way, Bucky grabbed Rocket before he would get trampled and spun around as both Bucky and Rocket fired at the Outriders around them.
"Come on! Get some! Get some! Come on! Get some!" Rocket yelled before Bucky dropped him and Rocket looked at Bucky, fascinated. "How much for the gun?"
"Not for sale." Bucky said.
"OK. How much for the arm?" Rocket asked. Bucky looked at him oddly before he turned his attention back to the battle, while Rocket smirked. "Oh, I'll get that arm."
Thor was cutting down more of the Outriders with his axe before turning his attention to Steve, when they noticed each other's new looks.
"New haircut?" Steve asked.
"Noticed you've copied my beard." Thor gestured to his beard and Steve shrugged before they saw Groot impaling several Outriders with his arm. "By the way, this is a friend of mine, Tree."
"I am Groot." Groot said.
"I am Steve Rogers." Steve said, assuming Groot was introducing himself.
Back on the top of the tower, Shuri was still trying to remove the Mind Stone from Vision's forehead, when Wanda looked outside the window to see the trees shaking, with something moving underground through the barrier.
From the ground emerged giant rolling wheels with spikes, trampling everything in its way.
"Fall back! Fall back, now!" T'Challa ordered as they retreated, moving out of the threshers' way.
Wanda stared in disbelief. Her friends were getting slaughtered and they were outnumbered and outgunned. She had to do something. She wasn't going to stand by and helplessly watch, even though she had to protect Vision.
"Focus that fire on left flank, Sam." Rhodey ordered.
"I'm doing it!" Sam snapped as they opened fire at one of the threshers but it was pointless.
"It's armor is too thick!" Ray said as he shrunk and flew into the machinery of one of the threshers, trying to sabotage it as it exploded.
Sara, Natasha, Caitlin and Okoye continued fending off the Outriders before they saw the threshers coming their way and covered their eyes before Wanda jumped down and her hands glowed red and the energy surrounded the threshers as well. Wanda lifted the threshers into the air and upon seeing the Outriders coming at her, Wanda threw the threshers at them, crushing them.
"Why was she up there all this time?" Okoye demanded.
Proxima smirked as she turned to the comms on her wrist. "She's on the field. Take it."
Back in the tower, Corvus entered the lab and cut his way through the guards. Ayo used her spear to block, while Shuri tried to hurry the work but Ayo was knocked down soon enough. Stopping her work, Shuri grabbed a vibranium gauntlet and turned to Corvus, who blocked the blast from the gauntlet with his glaive before he threw Shuri aside, while slicing the table in half. Ayo got up but Corvus kicked her and Shuri as they fell through the railing down to the lower level.
Corvus jumped down but then Vision rushed at him and tackled him, sending them both crashing through the window and falling down from the tower.
"Guys, we've got a Vision situation here." Sam said as he spotted Vision and Corvus falling down before an Outrider lunged at Sam, knocking him down.
"Somebody get to Vision!" Steve ordered, while trying to fend off another Outrider.
"I got him!" Bruce said as he flew up.
"On my way!" Wanda said but next thing she knew, Proxima punched her in the face as she rolled down on the ground. Proxima then neared Wanda and rolled her over.
"He'll die alone. As will you." Proxima said.
"She's not alone."
Proxima turned to face Okoye and from the other side was faced by Sara and Natasha.
Proxima roared and lunged, attacking with her sword but Natasha and Sara blocked with their batons. Okoye ran up the side of the wall of the trench as all three women engaged Proxima.
In another part of the woods, Corvus kicked Vision in the abdomen, sending him tumbling to the ground. Vision staggered up to his feet, only for Cull to bash him away with his hammer. Vision looked up to see Bruce land and aim the repulsors at both Children of Thanos.
"Oh, no, oh no, you don't. This isn't gonna be like New York, pal. This suit's already kicked the crap outta the Hulk." Bruce said before Cull attacked with his hammer but Bruce grabbed it before he flew off as they crashed to nearby waterfall. "Guys! Vision needs backup now!"
Cull grabbed Bruce by his arm, forcing him on his knees.
"Hulk? Hulk, I know you like making your entrance at the last second. Well, this is it, man. This is the last, last second." Bruce said as Cull ripped the arm off the suit. "Hulk! Hulk! Hulk!"
Bruce's face turned green as he turned into Hulk briefly. "NOOO!"
Bruce then turned normal and had enough of it. "Oh, screw you, you big green asshole! I'll do it myself!"
Bruce rushed and jumped over Cull, punching him in the face and knocking him down. Bruce continued pummeling him before Cull struck Bruce in the head, knocking him down. Cull turned his hand into a spike, about to finish Bruce off but Bruce grabbed the severed gauntlet and placed it on Cull's hand.
"See ya!" Bruce said as he pressed a button on the gauntlet, turning on the jets.
Next thing Cull knew, he was flying in the air until he hit the barrier, being dragged along it and burning until the gauntlet exploded, killing Cull in the process.
"Hulk, we got a lot to figure out, pal." Bruce muttered.
Natasha, Sara and Okoye blocked as Proxima furiously continued attacking and ducked before an incoming thresher would shred them into pieces. Proxima kicked Natasha in the face as she fell down before Proxima spun around and knocked Sara and Okoye down.
In the woods, Vision continued exchanging blows with Corvus before Corvus stabbed him with the glaive.
"I thought you were formidable, machine." Corvus said as Vision grunted in pain. "But you're dying, like any man."
Vision gasped as Corvus pulled away, dropping Vision on the ground. Corvus was about to take the Mind Stone, when Peter swung in and kicked Corvus down as Corvus dropped his glaive, while Peter landed on a tree as Corvus glared at him.
"Come down here and fight like a man!" Corvus yelled.
"Seems better than you coming up here and fighting like a spider, right?" Peter quipped, when Corvus swung his glaive but Peter jumped away as Corvus cut the tree down.
Natasha dodged and blocked with her batons as Proxima attacked with her sword before Natasha disarmed Proxima but she was forced raise her batons to block Proxima's punches before Natasha fell down. Proxima was about to finish Natasha off, when red energy surrounded her as Wanda threw Proxima in the air and Proxima was ripped into pieces by incoming thresher, drops of blue blood spattering on Natasha's face.
"That was really gross." Natasha groaned.
Peter dodged and jumped to avoid the glaive before he kicked Corvus in the chest but Corvus dodged the following kick. Peter fired web bullets but Corvus was too fast for them as he dodged before Corvus attempted to cut Peter, who jumped to avoid and punched Corvus in the face before giving him a spinning kick, knocking him down.
"Not so much fun, when someone's stronger and faster than you, right?" Peter quipped.
Corvus roared as he got up and Peter jumped to avoid before Corvus would cut him with the glaive. Peter got behind Corvus and webbed his shoulders and pulled, sending him to the ground again. Corvus rolled back and Peter barely dodged as Corvus tried to kick him and it was only Peter's speed and reflexes that helped him avoid the attacks. Peter fired two lines of webbing at Corvus's shoulders and pulled, kneeing Corvus in the face before he jumped over Corvus, flipping him and disarming him of his glaive. Corvus got up, when his glaive protruded from his chest as he was lifted in the air by Vision before he dropped dead Corvus on the ground and fell down before Peter helped him on his feet.
"Thank you." Vision said.
"It's what I do. I help people." Peter said.
At the same time, Titan
On the dead world of Titan, another battle for another Infinity Stone was taking place. Thanos and Doctor Strange were engaged in a ferocious duel, with Strange launching the first strike, casting bolts of Eldritch energy at Thanos. Leaping into the air to avoid them, Thanos retaliated with a blast of energy from the Power Stone. Strange countered, opening a gateway to the Mirror Dimension to absorb the beam before pushing the gateway at Thanos in a bid to trap him. Thanos responded by destroying the gateway with the Power Stone, before throwing the remnants back at Strange in the form of a destructive black hole with the Space Stone. Thinking quickly, Strange cast a spell to transmute the singularity into a swarm of green butterflies, briefly confusing Thanos.
Taking advantage of the opening, Strange used his magic to split into an army of magical doppelgängers of himself and tried to restrain Thanos with hundreds of Eldritch Whips. However, Thanos immediately regained the upper hand, activating the Soul and Power Stones to instantly destroy the decoy images and briefly sunder Strange's astral form from his body. With his opponent staggered, Thanos activated the Space and Reality Stones, pulling Strange to his hand before Strange could react, with Thanos winning the duel.
"You're full of tricks, wizard." Thanos said, impressed by Strange's mastery over magic as he grabbed Strange by his throat and ripped the Eye of Agamotto from the necklace, snapping the thread. "Yet you never once used your greatest weapon." He clenched his fist, crushing the amulet in his hand, realizing that the Time Stone was not inside and that it was only a decoy. "A fake."
Strange was thrown aside as he rolled down on the ground and was knocked out. Thanos approached him but before he could use the Gauntlet and finish him off, Tony fired a nanotech clamp to the Gauntlet, restraining it to prevent Thanos from using it before Tony landed to face him.
"You throw another moon at me and I'm gonna lose it." Tony said angrily.
"Stark." Thanos greeted.
"You know me?" Tony asked, shocked, though he tried his best to not to let his surprise show.
"I do. You're not the only one cursed with knowledge." Thanos said ominously.
"My only curse is you." Tony said.
From Tony's back emerged miniature missiles that he fired at Thanos.
"Come on!" Thanos taunted before he formed a barrier with Space Stone.
Tony flew at Thanos, turning his legs into a battering ram and upon impact Thanos staggered back before Tony landed, anchoring his feet to the ground to gain steady footing. Thanos was about to punch Tony but Tony turned his arms into battering rams, slamming them onto Thanos's chest, sending him crashing to a nearby pile of rocks that collapsed. Thanos grabbed Tony by his face, shattering the helmet before the helmet reformed and Tony used his arms to shield his face but the strength of Thanos's punch sent him to the ground.
Thanos ripped the clamp off the Gauntlet before he fired a beam of energy from the Power Stone at Tony, who formed a shield in his hand, blocking the beam. Tony moved out of the way of the beam as he flew at full speed at Thanos, forming a clamp at his foot and pinning Thanos's hand with the Gauntlet to the ground before he turned his arm into a battering ram, punching Thanos. The force was enough to make a cut on his face as Thanos ran his fingers across his cheek and noticed the purple stain on his fingers.
"All that for a drop of blood." Thanos said.
Next thing Tony knew, Thanos freed his hand from Tony's grip, flinging him as Tony fell down. Before Tony could recover, Thanos punched him, sending him to the ground again. Tony felt blood on his face as Thanos began pummeling him, despite that Tony was using his arms to block, while the armor was shattering with each punch Thanos was delivering. Even without the Infinity Stones, Thanos was too strong for Tony to take him on alone. Thanos then grabbed Tony, lifting him in the air before blasting him away with the Power Stone point-blank as Tony fell down on the ground.
Tony got up as he fired repulsor beams, while his suit was reforming but Thanos blocked the beams with the Power Stone and neared Tony before punching him and shattering the mask. Tony blocked the following punch with considerable effort and tried to punch Thanos, who grabbed Tony's hand. In a last-ditch attempt to fight back, Tony formed a blade in his other hand, trying to stab Thanos, who grabbed his other hand too and twisted Tony's arm before he broke the blade and stabbed Tony in the abdomen. Thanos pushed Tony until he was forced to sit on a nearby pile of debris before Thanos looked at Tony regretfully, holding him by his head.
"You have my respect, Stark." Thanos said, looking and sounding almost regretful, much to Tony's surprise. "When I'm done, half of humanity will still be alive." He backed away as Tony gasped in pain. "I hope they remember you."
Thanos raised his hand, about to finish Tony off as the stones in Infinity Gauntlet glowed, charging up.
"Stop."
Thanos stopped as he turned to Strange.
"Spare his life and I will give you the stone." Strange promised.
"No tricks." Thanos warned and Strange shook his head, assuring the Mad Titan.
"Don't." Tony pleaded.
Strange raised his hand and it seemed that he was holding a star in the sky between his fingers but it was revealed to be the Time Stone that Strange had disguised as a star before the battle with Thanos before it floated towards Thanos, who inserted it into the slot in his Gauntlet and breathed heavily as more power surged through him before he looked at the Gauntlet again.
"One to go." Thanos said.
Suddenly, he was shot as Peter Quill, Star-Lord flew down from above, firing at him but Thanos opened a portal with Space Stone and disappeared as it closed.
Quill fell down and got up, retracting his mask as he looked around in despair. "Where is he?"
Tony was closing the wound in his hip with nanobots, while the horrible realization hit everyone.
"Did we just lose?" Quill asked.
Tony turned to Strange, looking at him in disbelief. "Why did you do that?"
"We're in the endgame now." Strange said ominously.
Wakanda
M'Baku and his Jabari chanted as they finished off another pack of Outriders. Thor flew around and killed another pack of Outriders with lightning, while destroying one of the dropships as he flew through before he flew at another dropship.
Down on the ground, Wanda landed and approached injured Vision, tending to him. "Are you OK?" She asked before the Mind Stone on his forehead glowed and Vision groaned in pain. "What? What is it?"
"He's here." Vision said, horrified and Wanda paled.
Steve heard rustling as he called out. "Everyone on my position. We have incoming."
"What the hell?" Natasha wondered as she, Oliver, Sam, Sara, Barry, Cisco, Caitlin, Dick, Bruce, Peter, Frank, Pietro, Wanda, T'Challa, Okoye, Rhodey and Ray were on guard. Bruce turned to see a blue portal appeared from which went out Thanos with his Infinity Gauntlet as Wanda stiffened and breathed out in horror, intimidated at seeing the Mad Titan for the first time, with Vision just as frightened.
"Cap. That's him." Bruce said upon spotting Thanos.
"Eyes up. Stay sharp." Steve ordered.
Thanos marched towards them, while Bruce in his Hulkbuster armor lunged at Thanos but Thanos used the Space Stone to trap Bruce in the rock behind Thanos.
Barry and Pietro ran towards Thanos at full speed and Peter swung at Thanos but with a wave of his hand, Thanos blasted all three of them away with the Power Stone as they hit the ground. Before they could recover, they were encased in rock as the Reality Stone glowed, trapping them in the ground. Steve rushed at Thanos but Thanos again used the Power Stone to knock Steve away with a wave of his hand.
T'Challa lunged at Thanos but Thanos grabbed him by his throat and slammed him to the ground as T'Challa's suit let out pulse of energy it had absorbed.
Sam flew towards Thanos, firing from his guns but Thanos used the Power Stone to deactivate Sam's wings as Sam fell down.
"Wanda." Vision turned to Wanda, pleading her to destroy the Mind Stone, despite that it would cost his life. "It's time."
"No." Wanda protested.
"They can't stop him, but we can." Vision pleaded as he held her hand. "Look at me. You have the power to destroy the Stone."
"Don't."
"You must do it. Wanda, please. We are out of time."
"I can't."
"You can." Vision assured her as he held her hand. "If he gets the Stone, half of the universe will die. It's not fair. It shouldn't be you but it is." Wanda could barely hold back tears, not wanting to be the one who would kill her friend. "It's alright. You've been a good friend to me."
Wanda's lips quivered as she nodded. "You've been a good friend to me too."
Wanda then raised her hand as it began glowing red, charging up as she began unleashing the psionic energy into the Mind Stone, trying to overload it, despite that it would kill Vision, while she felt the tears stream down her cheeks and Vision gasped in pain.
Rhodey and Ray fired at Thanos but Thanos used the Space Stone to crush the weapons in their suits before throwing them both away. Oliver fired arrows, while Bucky and Frank began shooting from their guns and Cisco fired vibe beams but Thanos blasted them, Matt and Dick away with the Power Stone. Okoye threw her spear but Thanos knocked her away and rock formations emerged from the ground, trapping Sara and Natasha. Groot tried to restrain with his vines but Thanos easily broke through the restraints, while Steve grabbed Thanos's hand in which the Gauntlet was. Steve grunted, struggling as he tried to stall Thanos but Thanos punched Steve with his other hand, knocking him down.
Wanda attempted to slow Thanos down as she fired a psionic beam at Thanos with her other hand to stall him.
"It's alright…" Vision whispered as Thanos neared him and Wanda, who sobbed as the Mind Stone shattered and Vision closed his eyes before there was an explosion that knocked Wanda down.
Wanda felt her eyes get wet as Thanos neared her.
"I understand, my child." Thanos said in sympathy, the grief from sacrificing his daughter Gamora to get the Soul Stone still fresh. "Better than anyone."
"You could never…" Wanda sneered, glaring at Thanos hatefully as he fondled her hair.
"Today I've lost more than you could ever know." Thanos said. "But now is not time to mourn. Now… is no time at all."
Thanos passed by Wanda and clenched his fist, activating the Time Stone as a green circle glowed around the Gauntlet as he waved his hand and rewound time as Vision reassembled before Wanda destroyed the Mind Stone as Vision was good as new, much to Wanda's horror.
"No!" Wanda screamed before Thanos knocked her away.
Thanos grabbed Vision by his throat as the android choked out before Thanos yanked out the Mind Stone from Vision's forehead. Vision lost his color and fell down, dead or deactivated, one couldn't tell with Vision, all that was certain was that he was not among the living anymore. Thanos inserted the Mind Stone into the last slot in the Gauntlet as the energy surged through him before suddenly, lightning knocked him down as Thor threw the Stormbreaker at Thanos, despite that Thanos used the full power of his Gauntlet to stop it. The axe cut through the beam from the Gauntlet, striking Thanos in the chest as Thor landed in front of Thanos.
"I told you, you'd die for that." Thor growled as he glared and jammed the axe deep into Thanos's chest as Thanos cried out in pain.
"You should have… you… you should have gone for the head." Thanos whispered before he raised his hand with the Gauntlet.
"No!" Thor shouted in horror.
Thanos snapped his fingers and a flash of light followed and as it faded, the Gauntlet was smoking and charred, burned into Thanos's hand, looking like if it had gone a few rounds with a monster truck.
"What did you do? What did you do?!" Thor demanded but Thanos clenched his fist before he disappeared in a blue portal as Stormbreaker fell off Thanos's chest and Thor stared in horror.
"Where did he go?" Steve wondered, looking around. "Thor. Where did he go?"
Thor just stared in disbelief, realizing they had lost and as he imagined half of the people in the whole universe dying because of his failure.
"Steve…" Bucky said as Steve turned to see his best friend turn into dust and Bucky fell down before vanishing as Steve watched in horror.
"Ollie…" Sara trailed off as Oliver turned to her and he stared in shock as her hands began turning into dust before she was blown away by the wind and Oliver's face turned into one of pure horror.
Matt got up and while he didn't see what was going on, the fact that his love's heartbeat, among other people's, was suddenly gone just crushed his heart even more than losing Elektra years ago.
Back on the battlefield, M'Baku stared in horror to see his army disappear into dust.
Dick wondered what had happened before he was turned into dust as well.
"Up, General. Up!" T'Challa said as he offered his hand to Okoye. "This is no place to die."
Okoye took T'Challa's hand before as her king turned into dust and was blown away by the wind, much to her horror.
"I am Groot." Groot said weakly as Rocket stared in despair to see him turn into dust.
"No, no, no, no. Groot! No." Rocket whispered.
"Barry."
Barry turned to see Cisco's hands beginning to turn to dust as Barry stared in horror, while Cisco fell on his knees.
"What's happening to me?" Cisco whispered, with his and Barry's eyes getting wet.
"I'm here, buddy." Barry said.
"I don't wanna go, Barry, please, I don't wanna go, I don't wanna go…" Cisco begged, sobbing, with Barry already on verge of tears.
"I'm not letting you go." Barry said as he also fell on his knees, while Cisco fell to the ground.
"I'm sorry…" Cisco whispered before he turned into dust, with a handful of it in Barry's hands as he stared in shock.
"No…" Barry whispered and a moment later he lost it, burying his face into the ground and weeping, remembering, when he was with his mother Nora in her dying moments, when he had gone back in time after accepting Thawne's offer.
Elsewhere, Wanda, still mourning Vision, turned into dust too, blown away by the wind as Pietro covered his mouth in disbelief. "Wanda…"
Rhodey was walking down the forest, searching for Sam, who had disappeared too, affected by the Snap. "Sam? Sam, where are you at?"
Titan
Tony, Strange, Quill, Mantis, Nebula and Drax felt something grim in the air before Mantis and Drax turned into dust, blown away by the wind.
"Quill…" Drax said, horrified before he and Mantis faded into dust, much to Quill's horror.
"Steady, Quill." Tony tried to assure Quill.
"Oh, man." Quill said as a moment later, he vanished too.
"Tony." Strange said as Tony turned to him. "There was no other way."
Strange then turned into dust too as Tony wondered why did this have to happen for them to beat Thanos as he stared in horror, realizing he had failed as he sat down in defeat.
"He did it…" Nebula said.
The Lighthouse
"Everyone's going to be happy to see you." Jemma Simmons assured her lover Leo Fitz after she, Daisy Johnson, Piper and Enoch had retrieved him from outer space.
"I still can't believe we have a grandson who's almost my—" Fitz stopped, when they heard screams.
"What the hell?" Daisy rushed into the bunker to see some of her colleagues turn into dust.
"Elena? Elena!" Mack screamed as he watched the love of his life disappear right in front of him.
"Deke…" Jemma whispered.
"What's going on?" Deke said before he turned into dust, much to Fitz's and Jemma's horror and a moment later, Davis turned into dust too.
"Jemma…" Fitz whispered as he saw Jemma turn to dust too before she disappeared. "Jemma!" He shouted in despair, as he, Mack, Piper and Daisy shared horrified looks, wondering if this was a nightmare.
CCPD
Patty Spivot was at her desk doing some paperwork before she heard screams and looked up to see her colleagues, among them Captain Singh, turn into dust.
West Residence, Central City
"I'm proud of you, kiddo." Joe said as he and Iris hugged Wally after he, Ralph and Allegra had stopped the latest metahuman criminal.
Suddenly, Joe fell down as the spot on the floor where Iris and Wally had been and his clothes were covered in dust.
"Iris? Wally?" Joe asked as he started to search for them in the pile of dust frantically. "Cecile!"
Joe rushed up but in Cecile's room all he found was a pile of dust on the floor too as he began wondering what the hell was going on.
S.T.A.R. Labs
Allegra was at the computer in the Cortex as she looked in horror. "People are saying that they're seeing others turn into dust. Ralph. Wally. Did you hear me?" She called out. "Guys?" She then looked at her hands to notice that they were turning into dust. "What the—"
Suddenly, Allegra turned into dust.
Saints & Sinners Bar
Leonard and Lisa Snarts and Mick were drinking at the bar, when they heard screams and turned to see people turn into dust.
"What is this? Do you know what's…" Snart trailed off and turned to see that Mick and Lisa were gone. "Guys?"
Star City
In the bunker of Team Arrow's lair, they were planning on targeting another crime lord, when suddenly, Tommy, Roy and Thea were turning into dust, much to Rene's and Rory's shock.
"Guys? Are you OK?" Rory asked.
"What the hell is—"
Tommy, Roy and Thea suddenly disappeared right in front of Rory and Rene as they stared in shock at the piles of dust on the floor.
"What the hell was that?" Rene demanded.
"Tommy! Roy! Thea!" Rory cried out as he examined the piles of dust.
Samantha Clayton and her son William were buying ice cream from a booth in the park.
"How do you like the ice cream, honey?" Samantha asked.
"Nice." William said as he paid for the ice cream and turned, only to see specks of dust. "Mom?" He then looked around, seeing people turn into dust blown away by the wind, much to his horror. "Mom?!"
District Attorney's office
"I'll build the case against the guy and we'll nail him." Laurel said.
"Thank you, Laurel." Moira nodded.
"Now, if you excuse me, I—ugh!" Quentin suddenly grunted, clutching his chest.
"Dad? Are you OK? Is it your heart?" Laurel asked as she and Moira held Quentin.
"No, it's—"
Laurel's and Moira's eyes widened, when they saw Quentin turn into dust and a moment later, he disappeared.
"Dad!" Laurel exclaimed before Moira and the other employees were also turning into dust and Laurel covered her mouth in disbelief.
A.R.G.U.S.
Lyla Michaels and Rick Flag were in the briefing room with some agents, when suddenly, some of them began turning into dust, much to everyone's panic and confusion.
"What the hell is—" Lyla didn't get to finish, when, much to Rick's shock, she turned into dust too.
New York
In a bar, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage were talking and catching up, when they turned around upon hearing people scream.
"Sweet Christmas…" Luke whispered as they saw some people turn into dust.
"What the fuck is this shit?" Jessica asked as she turned to Luke, but at his seat was only a pile of dust. "Luke. Luke?" She looked around, wondering what the hell was going on.
In the streets, Danny and Colleen were fighting a group of gangsters, when some of them were turning into dust, much to Danny's and Colleen's and everyone else's confusion as Colleen looked around, wondering what was going on before she noticed that Danny had disappeared.
"Danny? Danny!" Colleen called, looking around.
Tyrone Johnson, known as Cloak, watched in horror as his best friend Tandy Bowen, known as Dagger, turned to dust.
Maria Hill had turned into dust too as Nick Fury entered his car and pulled out his phone before, much to his surprise, he was turning into dust too. "Oh, no. Motherf—"
Fury vanished into dust as the phone fell down on the ground.
Madripoor
Sharon Carter had met with one of her contacts from MI6 at the borders, about to hand over another fugitive but suddenly, her contact and captive were turned into dust, much to Sharon's shock.
Russia
Yelena Belova was in the bathroom, washing her face, when she looked at herself in the mirror but narrowed her eyes to see something odd but before she could notice what it was, she turned into dust.
Gotham City
Jason Todd, also known as Red Hood was aiming his gun at the gangster who was crawling on the ground and covering his face before Jason turned into dust, much to the gangster's confusion.
Buredonia
Slade Wilson in his Deathstroke suit had his son Joe, who had become a ruthless mercenary Kane Wolfman, cornered as Slade pointed his sword at him.
"It's over, Joe. Don't make this harder than it has to be." Slade said.
Suddenly, Kane began turning into dust, much to Slade's horror before he disappeared.
"Kid?" Slade asked as he knelt down, clawing at the pile of dust in despair. "Kid?!"
Tahiti
Phil Coulson was spending his last days on the beach with Melinda May before, much to his shock, he turned his head to see May gone, only dust left after her.
San Francisco
"Guys? Get me out of here! Guys!" Scott Lang panicked, trying to call out for help as he was trapped in the Quantum Realm with the Quantum machine, not knowing that Hank, Janet and Hope had turned into dust.
Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters
"Jean! Scott!" Logan and Storm rushed down the corridor as the students and teachers were disappearing before they entered the office, where Charles Xavier screamed in pain, holding his head as Logan saw two piles of dust in front of him.
"Professor, where are Jean and Scott?" Storm demanded.
"Here…" Xavier said, pointing at the two piles of dust in front of him.
"Professor, what the hell is going on? Kitty and Piotr also disappeared." Logan said.
Middle East
In a monastery, Talia al Ghul was training her students, when suddenly, Talia and some of the students turned into dust as the rest wondered in confusion what was going on.
Barton farm, Missouri
Clint Barton was practicing archery with his daughter Lila, who was planting her feet into the ground and notching an arrow, aiming it at the target in front of her hanging on a tree.
"OK, hold on, don't shoot. You see where you're going?" Clint asked.
"Mm-hmm." Lila nodded.
"Now, let's worry about how you get there." Clint said as he got behind Lila and helped planting her feet. "Gotta move your foot here. Point your toe this way. Your hips here." He moved her hips until Lila was in a proper stance. "Can you see?"
"Yeah."
"Are you sure?"
"Mm-hmm."
"How about now? Can you see now?" Clint joked as he covered Lila's eye.
"No." Lila said as both Bartons chuckled.
"How about now? All right. Ready?" Clint asked.
"Hey, you guys want mayo or mustard or both?" Laura asked as she was preparing the lunch at a nearby table.
"Who puts mayo on a hot dog?" Lila whispered.
"Probably your brothers." Clint said before turning to Laura. "Two mustards, please! Thanks, Mama."
"Got it!" Laura called before turning to Nate. "Nate, mayo or mustard?"
"How about ketchup?" Nate asked.
"Or ketchup. I got ketchup, too." Laura said.
Lila again notched the arrow, aiming at the target.
"Mind your elbow." Clint said as Lila fired, hitting the target in its center and Clint laughed, high-fiving with her. "Good job, Hawkeye. Go get your arrow."
Lila walked off as Laura called out. "Hey, guys! Enough practice. Soup's on."
"All right. We're coming. We're hungry. Lila, let's go." Clint said as he turned but all he saw at the target was specks of dust blown away by wind. "Lila?" He looked around in confusion. "Honey?" He picked the arrows before he turned to the table. "Hey, babe?"
Clint stared in confusion to see that his wife and children were suddenly gone a moment later as he looked around, wondering what the hell was going on.
"Babe? Babe?" Clint called as he rushed to the table, dropping the arrows and whistled, looking around. "Boys! Boys! Laura!"
Metropolis
Clark, Kara and Zor-El had crashed on the outskirts of the city, when screams and explosions overloaded their super-hearing.
"What is going on?" Kara demanded and Clark narrowed his eyes to see people in the city turning into dust, cars and planes crashing and as Zor-El was beginning to be affected by the yellow sun, he started to gain powers too as he also saw what was going on, realizing what it was.
"It cannot be…" Zor-El whispered as he paled.
"What?" Clark and Kara asked, turning to him as if he was seeing his worst nightmare coming true.
Mars
"Malefic J'onnz. We are offering you a chance at redemption." M'gann said, with the council and J'onn and Nia Nal looking down at Malefic, J'onn's brother who had betrayed them once to White Martians and after a prolonged fight and persuasion from J'onn, returned to Mars to face justice for his crimes. "Are you ready to atone for your betrayal?"
"I…" Malefic opened his mouth but next thing they all knew, he screamed in agony.
"What is it?" One of the councilors asked, when suddenly, the Martians clutched their heads.
"J'onn? What's going—" Nia stopped, when she saw her hands and other Martians, Malefic and M'gann included, turn into dust before they vanished and the remaining Martians, J'onn included, fell down, clutching their heads at feeling their people's agony.
England
In their apartment, Lance Hunter and Bobbi Morse were doing what they usually do, arguing and shouting at each other, when Bobbi gasped in pain.
"Bob? You OK?" Hunter asked, when his eyes turned into pure horror to see her turn into dust.
"Hunter…" Bobbi whispered before she disappeared, with only as pile of dust on the floor left behind.
"Bobbi?" Hunter asked as he fell on his knees, clawing his hands at the pile of dust desperately. "BOBBI!"
S.T.A.R. Labs, Central City, Earth-2
"Another meta is behind bars now." Jesse Quick said as she returned to the Cortex.
"Nice job, honey." Harry Wells said as he hugged her in pride.
"You up for Big Belly Burger?" Jesse offered.
"Sounds good." Harry said as he picked his jacket and put it on but when he turned to Jesse, at the spot she had been earlier was just a pile of dust. "Jesse?" He looked around. "Jesse!"
Central City, Earth-3
Jay Garrick delivered a criminal in cuffs to the police officers.
"Thank you, Flash." One of the officers said and Jay nodded and was about to speed off but much to the shock of the officers, he turned into dust, making them wonder what the hell just happened.
Wakanda, Earth-1
Steve, Natasha, Bruce, Thor, Pietro and Rhodey, Oliver, Barry, Caitlin, Ray and Matt and Frank just stared in disbelief, devastated as Steve sat down.
"What is this? What the hell just happened?" Rhodey demanded.
Steve breathed out, horror filling him, unable to believe what had just happened. "Oh, God."
Elsewhere
On a distant planet, Thanos sat down and as he promised to Strange, he watched the sunrise, celebrating his victory, expecting the universe to be grateful.
Yes, Thanos still succeeded in the Snap and won. The Avengers were divided in Infinity War and not every hero was around to help for the reasons I mentioned in earlier chapters and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. characters have also been affected, since the last episodes of Season 5 were happening around the same time Infinity War was going on and I'm not going to do Time Heist from Endgame here but something similar to what other writers have done before here for the heroes to get back the Infinity Stones and reverse the Snap. Plus, by the time Clark, Kara and Zor-El managed to trick Zod in the Phantom Zone and return, the respective battles were already happening, so it's not like they had time to find out what was going on and get where they needed to be to help out to stop Thanos.
And like in some other fics, the entire multiverse was affected by the Snap too.
The part with Peter vs. Corvus Glaive is taken from Aragorn II Elessar's Avengers, Slayer, Devil and Stones.
And unlike in Infinity War, Peter and Sharon didn't get dusted here, since I have other plans for them both here and I think you can guess what plans they are and don't get me started on how Sharon, Sam and Bucky were done dirty in Falcon and the Winter Soldier. She's not on the run here, since I didn't like how she was ruined in MCU, she is making a living as a fugitive hunter instead of a black market broker, stupid Disney.
And I'm not involving Carol Danvers (Captain Marvel) into this story, since, in hindsight, the film and the involvment of her character in MCU, at least the way it was handled, opens so many plot holes and honestly, given the roster of heroes that are involved already, it feels redundant to involve her too and there were a lot of issues I had with the film, plus, it was stupid what the film did with the Tesseract (Space Stone), alongside how she was introduced into MCU, since it diminishes the importance of the Avengers. Where was she when Ronan attacked Xandar? She was shoe-horned because of Kevin Feige and it's like she didn't even exist until the post-credits scene in Infinity War. Her being introduced at this point only opens up several problems from a writer's standpoint. Captain America: The First Avenger was a flashback movie but we already had evidence of Steve's existence in the MCU before his first movie, a prototype of his shield was in Iron Man 2 and also the impact of Steve's existence and his movie didn't open up any plot holes. But with Captain Marvel, they opened a lot of them.
