Charles left America, and in doing so leaves Moira as well, Moira left to look after the mansion. Moira walking past a picture taken months ago of the three of them, 'A different time... ah, even a different place... we were young... friends back then... with hopes and wishes in our hearts... then heads seemed to have changed that... ad now... and now it's just me!'

Charlas' sole purpose of travelling was to go in search of himself, 'Is what I'm doing right?' he had asked himself since Erik had left 'Is there really a place for the both races' hand in hand?' Questions leading onto more questions, and doubt. 'Or does Erik have the right idea... One that will see mutantkind take down humanity!?' Charles here looking at his hand as it shakes, the car now leaving through the gates.

In his travels, Charles existed a plane in Bombay, India; and it was here where he senses other mutants, Tessa Aurmon and Amahl Farouk, strong telepathy mutants who hear his thoughts.

Charles came into contact with Amahl, when he was using mutants to do his bidding of the streets of Bombay, Amahl through control and fear had gathered around him a few key mutants, offering them some form of safety, but in return they all had to pay their way, taking to crime to do so.

Charles crossed paths with one of Amahl's mutants by the name of Ororo, the child with white shimmering hair.
Ororo had caught sight of this western and thought. 'If I gain this man's wallet then Amahl would free me, would allow me to go!'
Not knowing that this man was a mutant, the young girl saw her chance, she managed within a blink of an eye to pickpocket the man's wallet from his trouser pocket while Charles attempted to buy some fruit from the central market.
Suddenly, Charles sensed the girl's thoughts and goes to take her hand.
The girl tries to pull away.
The trader shouts, "Theif... Theif!" the trader now with his hand in the air and coming from behind his stall, the trader had often seen this girl, and knew of her deeds.
Charles as he saw the fear in the girl's face comes to sense the young mutant's fear of Amahl and so Charles wished to confront the mutant, here, letting go of the girl's hand.

Charles purposely allows the stranger to get away, following her as she makes her escape.

Charles held a hand to his temple, he had planned once again to read the girl's mind, however, he received a sharp blast of pain.
Amahl had sensed Charles' presence and was intrigued, allowing Charles to stand before him.
"I have never met anyone like you... your abilities are grand... why use them in this manner?" Charles asked of Amahl.
The man grinned, he welcomed this man's view of his powers. "You come here to stop me... Ah, know that you have no right here, stranger... these are my streets, and all bow to me!" was the warning Amahl gave Charles.
However, Charles couldn't, wouldn't back down. "You are a blackhearted mutant!"
"You can't dare to understand even half of what I've had to go through... with these hearts at my side, stranger, I can be safe... free!"
Charles could sense by now that the mutant before him know all to tell his name.
"Ah, you hide behind these doors... you are not free... and those children you openly and freely use are not free, and will never be!" stated Charles in reply, knowing also that he wouldn't be a good man if he left this poor girl and the others to this street king, he had to act had to stand up to Amahl.

In his battle with Amahl, Charles is strong, he had to push himself and his abilities against all that Amahl had to dish out. Amahl calling himself a "nightmare," stating that. "In the end, when all is said and done…. I will be the one… the one to cast fare and pain throughout this country."
"I will not let that happen, none shall be your slaves!" replied Charles.
Seeing that he was beaten, Amahl sent rubble crashing down on Charles. 'If I am to be defeated all will lose!"
It was here where Charles lost the use of his legs, the rubble crushing them.

Unable to sense Amahl any longer; Charles, weakened, is able to get the girl, Ororo, safely to Tessa.
Tessa took Charles to a hospital, the medical staff stated that, "Sadly, Mr Xavier, we can't offer you help... the damage, it sees, is far too severe!" which meant his legs were permanently unusable.

Tessa states that she would take care of Ororo, Charles is happy that he was able to save the child.

A young American nurse, Amelia Voght, helped in Charles' recovery.
The pair fall in love, it was also at this point Charles came to realise his calling, that he had lost, one to help protect both humanity and mutants from evil and harm.

- A year ago. -
While living in an apartment together, Amelia found Charles' notes on a device, called "Cerebro," a device, she would read, that could heighten Charles' own abilities in detecting further mutants.
Amelia left Charles' study and tried to leave, as she in fear of mutants didn't wish to confront him.
Charles suddenly felt a cold chill at the top of his spine and instantly realised something was wrong.
Amelia now stood before Charles. She took a sudden step back away from the one she had loved.
"Is everything okay, my love?" he asked of her.
She stayed silent, never taking her eyes off of him.
"Please, Amelia, speak to me."
"Speak... ah, and here more lies."
Charles shook his head. "I have never wished to lie to you!"
Tears now filled her eyes. "You lied from the start, hide who you truly were..."
Charles tried to speak, but was instantly cut off.
"How could you, you knew my fear...' Amelia casting a finger at Charles. 'but yet you still lied to me... you never loved me at all... Never!"
"That is not true, Amelia, and you know it!" stated Charles in his defense, but deep down he knew that yes she did have fear, rightly or wrongly, for mutants, but still engaged with his feelings for her.
To try and show Amelia that her fears of mutants were misguided; he spoke with her telepathically, telling her, ("Yes, I am a mutant… however, throughout our time together, I have never harmed you nor put you at risk... you love me and I, you… Amelia, you have there is truly nothing to fear... Please you have to trust me on that... have to see that I am right!") Charles here coming forward in his chair to place his hand in hers.
However, this made matters worse, Amelia backing away, and the two split up that day, with Amelia asking Charlie to leave, to never contact her again.

Charles returned to America shortly after this, in fact, Moira was actually shocked when she received his phone call to meet him at the airport.
"It's been a long time, Charles." she stated, as they stood in front of each other.
"Indeed it truly as, and know Moira how sorry I am."
She bent down and hugged him. "After no words, Charles, I'm just happy to see you in one piece." she stated, breaking the embrace.
"So, Charles,' Moira went on, 'are you staying here for good, or are you going to be shooting straight off again."
Charles smiled. "I am here for good, Moira, as we first planned, I must do all that I can to ensure those like me' Charles here placing a hand on his chest. 'that they have a place in the world and show people like you that the majority of mutants cause no threat to them!" he said in reply.
Moira saw Charles casting a hand in her direction. "You don't have to change my mind, we just have to do things right!"
"Yes inspire both mutants and humans to want to enter into a brave new world!"
"Here's then to inspiring the whole world, and easier said than done feat." commented Moira looking to Charles, who didn't argue, as he knew it wasn't going to be easy, but, in turn, knew he had to do something.
