Remnant

The Flight to Beacon was almost finished, but before they can approach, something unexpected happened.

"Miss Schnee we are beginning our decent." The pilot calls before ignoring her existence once again. Weiss has Mothra, now known as Hope sitting in her lap. The twins were back in the pocket, and Hope was trying to learn how to read with Weiss's instruction.

"A-and Yo-Yugi got h-i-s pick-uh-nick - beskits." She reads.

"Good job sweetie, you did it!" Weiss cheers. Hope was happy for her mother's prais, but her attention was caught by the book's title changing from 'Yogi Bear and the summer festival' to something else. A word she didn't remember seeing.

"Momma what is bu- ba-bat-era?" she said with a struggle. Weiss's face turned to one of confusion till she noticed the book title rapidly change back. The attempt at saying this word had not been missed by the Twins. Upon it they shot up looking directly at Hope. "Batura?"

Before Weiss could speak the twins spoke. "Battra." They say with terror in their voice. This made Weiss realize this was something bad. "Protector of the planets, and Bane of Humanity."

"Sayó I told you it was his doing!" Mei shouts.

"But Mei, he has been dormant for thousands of years." Sayó reasoned. "Why now?"

"You know exactly why! It's the same reason we're here on Remnant instead of Earth!"

"Girls!" Weiss shouts getting their attention. "Now. CALMLY, tell me what this Battra is, and if I have to worry about it." The twins look to each other. They sigh returning their gaze to Weiss.

"Battra was Mothra's opposite. A Yin while Mothra was a Yang."

"Battra was a protector of the planets themselves, but it's hatred for humanity was unmatched."

"He went on a rampage, killing all who he could find."

"He only stopped when Mothra locked him in Mt Fugi on Earth."

"From there he has laid dormant for a few thousand years." Upon the story the twins told one thing confused her.

"Wait, you say a few thousand years, but humanity and the Faunus haven't been around for more than 4 thousand." Upon her statement the twins looked at each other with a knowing look. Mei nods to her sister causing Sayó to look back at Weiss.

"This is not humanity's first time around." Sayó starts. "The Faunus? Yes. But humanity has been around for almost 14 thousand years. The first time around, when Battra was locked up. He had destroyed the human race on all worlds. The second time, two gods wiped humanity out to start over when they were attacked. This is the third time humanity has been brought back."

"Your world is special." Mei says. "Your world has the Faunus. No other world has that."Upon that Weiss was too shocked to speak for the rest of the trip.

The Bullhead landed soon after that and they got off, getting a full view of Beacon academy. They would have been in awe at the sight... well Hope was, But Weiss and the twins were still thinking about the conversation on the Bullhead. The group then walked over to a bulletin that says they needed to get to the auditorium in an hour.

They began walking over, but Weiss was distracted by her thoughts and Hope was distracted by the sights. After a bit neither noticed a girl wearing black with a red hood spinning after her sister had ditched her. they ended up bumping into her causing the girl to tumble to the ground dizzy from the spinning.

"OH MY GOSH!" Weiss shouts. "I'm so sorry! Here let me help you up." Once up the girl shook the daze from her brain.

"OH, no I should apologize. I was in the middle of the walkway." The girl says. She then offers for a handshake. "My names Ruby." She says excitedly.

"Nice to meet you, Ruby." Weiss says shaking Ruby's hand. There was an awkward silence for a moment as a tumbleweed somehow blew by.

"So are you going to tell me your name?" Ruby asks, still oblivious to Hope who was hiding behind her mother. The question caught Weiss off guard. Surly this girl new about the Heiress. Right?

"Weiss." Weiss answers. "I'm sorry, I'm not use to people not knowing who I am." She adds earnestly.

"Why?" Ruby asks, before gasping loud. "Are you Famous?!"

Weiss chuckles a bit. "Yes, but only for being born in the Schnee family, and becoming the Schnee Dust Company's Heiress."

"Ohhhhh, Sorry I don't follow the news much."

"It's okay." After that Ruby finally noticed the cowering girl behind Weiss.

"Who's that?" Ruby asks curiously gesturing to Hope. Just as Weiss was answering, a girl with black hair and a black bow on her head approached listening in.

"This Is my daughter." Weiss says. "Hope? Do you want to say hi?" Hope was a little hesitant but shyly came out a bit.

"Hi." She says.

"Hello Hope, I'm Ruby" Ruby says bending down to the girls level offering a hand for a handshake. Reluctantly after looking to her mother and receiving a nod, she took Ruby's hand and shook it.

"Aren't you a little young to be a mother?" The black haired girl says making her presence known. Weiss sighs and turns to the girl.

"It's a long, confusing and complicated story." Weiss says. The black haired girl looked between the two, noticing the resemblance and gave look of curiosity.

"Dose your father know?" She asks gesturing to Hope.

"Do you know who I am?" Weiss asks back earning a nod. "No. If he knew while I was back at the manor, I would never have been able to leave. And I don't even want to know what he would do about the fact that she's a Faunus."

"Then that leaves me with only one question." The black haired girl says. "What are you willing to lose to keep her safe?" Weiss looks to her.

"Everything."

Earth

It has been an hour since the roar from the Volcano and Junior had refused to leave. He was standing there keeping a watchful eye on the Volcano. A few more moments pass and the ground quakes once more, and the same dark roar echos across the city of ruins. Junior prepares himself, and waits. A moment more and the top of the mountain explodes. Dust and derbies from the mountain clouded the top only allowing two crimson glowing eyes to be seen along with three glowing golden horns positioned like a crown. Once the dust settles a giant black moth with red streaks is seen to be the owner to the evil eyes and crown like horns.

It expands its wings and flies into the air with a roar. Junior roars back and then charges his atomic breath. The Moth was much larger than Junior, at least 20 meters larger. The Moth, Battra then dive bombs Junior dodging as the atomic breath was released. Battra knocks Junior to the ground hard before flying back up and shooting Purple Energy Blast from his eyes hitting Godzilla Junior and a bit of his surroundings. From there Battra uses his Horns to unleash Prism Beams upon Junior, causing the little guy to cry out in pain. After that Battra takes to the sky as his form darkens before bursting into a black powder.

Remnant

Ruby, Weiss, Hope, secretly the Twins, and the black haired girl that they found out was named Blake, found the auditorium. Blake went of on her own but Ruby invited Weiss to join her and meet her sister. Weiss had noticed that Hope was getting frightened by the large amount of people so she picked the girl up and started to carry her, careful to not hurt Hope's wings in the process.

"Ruby!" A blond haired girl calls. Getting Weiss and Ruby's attention. Weiss guessed that it might be Ruby's sister, but was a little unsure.

"OH, There she is." Ruby confirmed. Ruby and Weiss then walk over. "Hey Yang!" Ruby shouts bursting into rose petals and tackling the girl now known as Yang. The two have a quick laugh before getting to there feet. Ruby looks back and remembers that she had brought friends with her. "OH RIGHT, Yang this is Weiss, and her daughter Hope." Ruby introduces.

"Hello Weiss and Hope, I'm Yang. Ruby's older sister." She says putting her hand out but stopping noticing the girl in Weiss's arms. "Sorry."

"It's fine."

"So your a mother? How did that happen?" Yang asks.

"It's a long story."

"No problem, Just curious." Yang says, much to the relief of Weiss. "Thanks though for giving my little sister a chance." Weiss regains her composure and finally gets a good look at the two side by side.

"Wait," Weiss says noticing Ruby being visibly younger than Yang and herself. "Aren't you a little young to be attending Beacon?" This got Ruby to pull her hood over in embarrassment getting a chuckle from Yang.

"She got moved ahead two years after stopping some criminals in Vale yesterday." Yang answers. Before Weiss could ask anymore questions Ozpin tapped the mic to gain his students attention.

"I'll... keep this brief. You have traveled here today in search of knowledge, to hone your craft and acquire new skills, and when you have finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people. But I look amongst you, and all I see is wasted energy, in need of purpose, direction." That got students to whisper among themselves. "You assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time at this school will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far. It is up to you to take the first step." After his speech Ozpin begins to walk off the stage as his as another professor walks up to the mic.

"You will gather in the ballroom tonight; tomorrow, your initiation begins. Be ready. You are dismissed" She says

"He seemed kind of... off." Yang says as people began leaving

"It's almost like he wasn't even there." Ruby adds.

"Well," Weiss starts gaining Ruby and Yang's attention. "We have to go. It was nice meeting you both."

"Yeah same!" Yang replies.

"OH, before you go! Do you want to exchange scroll numbers?" Ruby asks.

"I don't see why not." Weiss states. Quickly the girls exchange numbers and part ways.

Weiss and Hope are on their way to catch Ozpin. Eventually they find the elevator to Ozpin's office. Once the doors close Weiss looks down to her daughter noticing that she has a confused look.

"What's wrong sweetheart?" Weiss asks.

"I feel like there's something below us. Something with only half a soul." Hope says. She then looks up to her mother with a questioning look. "What do you think it is Momma?"

"Not sure. Do you want to ask Ozpin about it?" At this Hope thinks. After a minute she shakes her head. A moment later the doors open revealing a massive room, the ceiling filled with gears shifting and turning. At the end of the room lies a mahogany desk with a tea set on it. In a seat at his desk sits Ozpin. He takes a sip of tea.

"Miss Schnee, please have a seat." He says gesturing to two seats in front of his desk. She does as she told before noticing two tiny chairs on his desk. She looked up to Ozpin who simply nodded. After getting the twins set in the tiny chairs Ozpin offers a cup of tea to Weiss.

"Thank you." She says and graciously accepts the offer. "So, Professor. You said you wanted to speak with me when I arrived."

"Yes, however I also know you came with questions of your own as well." He states

"Yes sir."

"Let's start with the important stuff, shall we?" He says, earning a nod In agreement. "Firstly, the reason I was at your house. I was looking through my list of students this year however I was short one person."

"Was?" Weiss asks.

"Indeed. You already met the one who filled that spot." He says.

"Ruby." Weiss mutters earning a chuckle from the headmaster.

"I was going to tell you that, at the time there would be no guarantee for a full team this year, but as I said that has changed." Ozpin explains before he takes a sip of his tea. "Now, on to the matter of little Mothra." Ozpin opens a drawer and pulls out a small set of paperwork. "This contains a birth certificate, social Security, and other paperwork that will need to be filled out. This will show that you are her legal mother, and guardian, and if you wish, it can also prove you the biological mother. It will require a blood test result of course." Weiss was about to say something but Ozpin halted her. He takes another sip of his tea, and reaches into the drawer once more. He then pulls out another packet. "This will legalize you as an adult via emancipation. The details are all enclosed, but I suggest that you look over it."

Weiss takes a moment to think. She then grabs the second set. "This allows me to raise her?" She asks.

"Yes, amongst other things."

"Then I'll sign it." She decides. Ozpin gives a small smile and hands a pen over. Once that's done she goes on to fill out the other documents, and scheduling a blood test, she stopped when she saw the lines that are required by her parents.

"Yes Miss Schnee," Ozpin starts. "We will need their signatures, however I will be sending this to a colleague of mine who will get your father's signature. I will be requesting your mother to come here however for her to sign." Weiss gained a look of terror. "Do not worry, if I recall, your mother will be more than happy to sign for this occasion." Weiss gave him a confused look but decided to put her trust in him. She continued on with filling the paperwork out only stopping on the last line needed to be filled.

Child's Name:

"Have you decided on a name yet, Miss Schnee?" Ozpin asks.

"Yes." She says. "I have."

Child's Name:Hope Mosura Schnee

"Vary interesting choice." Ozpin complements. "Well," He says turning to Hope. "Welcome to the world, Hope."

The Next Morning

As Weiss wakes she can see her little girl snuggled against her peacefully sleeping. Hope's wings covering both of them like small soft blankets inside the sleeping bag. In Hope's hair the Twins sleep as well. They had to sleep in the ballroom with all of the other students so this was the best Weiss could do for now. Carefully Weiss gets up trying not to wake her daughter, and gently closes the sleeping bag back up. Upon that Weiss grabs her combat uniform and heads to the locker room to change real quick.

Forgetting to do her hair she walks out fully dressed. Once she returns to Hope, Weiss can see her peaceful face, Though the peace is disturbed.

"WAKE UP SLEEPY BUD!" An energetic girl yells right across from Weiss. The girl seemed to be waking a boy dressed in green. He had black hair with a strand of pink in it, and pale skin. The boy sighs.

"Mama?" Hope calls tiredly. Weiss looks down to her daughter with a sorrowful expression.

"Sorry sweetie. Our neighbor's got a little loud." Weiss gestures to the girl in pink. Hope giggles lightly to her mother's comment.

Moments later Weiss, (secretly)the Twins, and Hope are in the Locker room. Opening her Locker Weiss grabs Myrtenaster, her revolving dust chamber rapier. After a moment Weiss sighs. I almost forgot that I have limited dust. I can't believe I forgot That of all things. Weiss looks to Hope who is sitting on a bench next to her locker fidgeting with her wings. Oh well, at least I got to bring her. Weiss smiles at the thought.

"Hello!" A voice sounds. Weiss looks over to see a celebrity from the kingdom of Mistral, Pyrrha Nikos. She offers her hand. "My name's Pyrrha. I wanted to wish you luck out there."

"Thank you." Weiss smiles. "I'm Weiss." She says accepting the handshake. "If I remember correctly we should be getting assigned teams today."

Pyrrha giggles. "Well then I hope to see you out there."

The next thing Weiss hears before she could respond was Hope. "Ruby!" She cheers.

Ruby giggles at this. "Hey Hope." Ruby then looks over to Weiss. "Hey Weiss."

"Hello Ruby." Weiss smiles.

"Who's your friend?" Ruby asks while Hope hops down from her seat to run over to her mothers side.

Weiss gestures to Pyrrha. "This is Pyrrha."

"Hello." Pyrrha greets with a wave.

"She was the champion at the Mistral Regional Tournament for four years in a row." Weiss explains.

Ruby's eyes practically turned to stars. Meanwhile Yang Walked over with a proud look on her face. "Four years! That's a new record! That's so cool." Pyrrha chuckles at the younger girls excitement.

"Yeah, it was pretty cool." Pyrrha admits. "I even got to be put on a cereal box. Sad to say it wasn't very good for you though."

Yang grabs her sister in a bear hug. "Oh I'm so proud of my baby sister! Making friends with celebrities!"

"Cut It out!" Ruby says punching Yang's off of her, causing said girl to laugh.

Weiss and Pyrrha chuckle while Hope looks on in confusion. The Twins, despite being in hiding could hear what was going on and were struggling to keep quiet.

A little while later Weiss, Hope, Ruby, Pyrrha, and Yang walk over to the cliffs nearby Beacon. Ozpin was already waiting with Professor Glenda Goodwitch.

"Hello students." Glenda greets. "Please step on a platform and wait for us to begin."

"Before you do," Ozpin interrupts. "Miss Schnee would you come with me for a moment?"

Weiss nods. "Yes Professor." Weiss, with Hope In tow follows Ozpin a short distance away.

"I trust you know why I asked?"

"Yes sir." Weiss nods.

"I will keep them and your daughter safe during your initiation." Ozpin states. "You have my word."

Moments later. Weiss was standing on one of the platforms with her peers. Off to the side Hope nervously stood next to Ozpin and Glenda. The Twins were in Ozpin's pre cleaned emptied mug that he held.

Ozpin clears his throat gaining everyone's attention. "For years, you have trained to become warriors, and today, your abilities will be evaluated in the Emerald Forest."

Glenda holding a open Scroll steps forward. "Now, I'm sure many of you have heard rumors about the assignment of 'teams.'" She states. "Well, allow us to put an end to your confusion. Each of you will be given teammates... today."

Weiss looks over to Ruby who's looking slightly pale. "What? Ohhh..." She mumbles.

Ozpin adds on to What Glenda said. "These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time here at Beacon. So it is in your best interest to be paired with someone with whom you can work well."

Weiss looks over to Hope who still looks worried. Weiss smiles to her and blows a kiss to her causing a smile to appear on her daughter's face.

"That being said," Ozpin continues. "The first person you make eye contact with after landing will be your partner for the next four years."

"Whaaaat?!" Ruby cry's. Weiss gives the girl a sympathetic look before mentally preparing herself.

"See? I told you-!" Weiss hears somewhere in the background.

"After you've partnered up," Ozpin states. "Make your way to the northern end of the forest. You will meet opposition along the way. Do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path... or you will die." Hope behind him gains a terrified expression with her face going pale. One of the students laughs nervously and then gulps loudly.

"You will be monitored and graded through the duration of your initiation," Ozpin continues to explain. "But our instructors will not intervene. You will find an abandoned temple at the end of the path containing several relics. Each pair must choose one and return to the top of the cliff. We will regard that item, as well as your standing, and grade you appropriately. Are there any questions?"

A guy among Weiss' peers chuckles nervously raising his hand. "Yeah, um, sir?"

"Good!" Ozpin states. "Now, take your positions."

Everyone strikes a pose on their tile. Pyrrha ready's her shield and sword in a fighting pose, Weiss prepares Myrtenaster, Yang raises her fists, Ruby readies her scythe, and a blond guy is still raising his hand. Weiss give Hope a quick smile before looking forward.

"Uh, sir?" The student asks. "I've got, um... a question." He doesn't notice the tile under Weiss rising up into a springboard, rocketing into the air and over the forest, as the platforms activate down the line. "So, this landing... strategy thing... Uh, wha-what is it? You're, like, dropping us off or something?"

"No." Ozpin denies. "You will be falling."

"Oh, uh, I see... So, like, did you hand out parachutes for us?"

"No. You will be using your own 'landing strategy.'"

"Uh-huh... Yeah."

At her turn, Yang winks at her younger sister, puts on a pair of aviators, and flies off with a "Woo-hoooooooo!" before Ruby joins her.

"So, what exactly is a landing strategYyyyyyyy"

Ozpin smiles while Glenda rolls her eyes. Hope in fear for her mother grabs Ozpin's jacket tugging on it slightly. Ozpin looks down to see the girls face, and immediately understands what was scaring her. Hope watches with curiosity as Ozpin's body glows slightly. Glenda gains a shocked look. What is he doing. She thought. Why would he show her.

"It's alright." Ozpin states kindly. "The speech was a way of motivation. Your mother will be perfectly fine."

Glenda walks over kneeling down to Hopes level. "If you want you can watch if it will make you feel better." Hope nods slowly to her.
