My first impression of that human wasn't exactly impressive. But after I have gone through his rigorous training, I'd soon realize that I was quick to judge. The human has proven themselves to be more capable than I first initially thought. Nonetheless, he's still an idiot.

I can tell that the human has grown fond of me. However, I have no intention of becoming his slave in the first place. Once I have my revenge, we will separate and I shall be on my way.

That is until I've grown quite fond of him too.

There aren't many likable traits that the human has, but the determination that he has shown is something that I admire.

But now, I'm starting to doubt my own word.

Because of the human, we got surrounded by a horde of enemies. With no way of escaping, the only way out of this situation is to fight through and defeat every one of them.

I begin by charging forward, defeating the enemies, one by one. The other look at me in fear, slowly backing away, but I won't let them. I go after the rest, not letting any of them escape.

The human seems to be doing his part too. Our training together has proven to be more beneficial than we first thought, seeing as how he manages to handle himself amongst the enemies quite fine.

Surely enough, the battle starts to turn in our favor, as the number of foes reduces slowly.

But luck just wasn't always on our side. Not until the moment that those 2 Nidorinoes got up and start fighting.

I must admit, I'm starting to struggle a bit after the sudden increase in numbers. However, I still have my evolution in case thing goes wrong. Should they push me back any further, I will stop holding back and unleash my true strength.

Too engrossed in a battle, I was unaware of the state of my human companion. By the time I realize what happened, he's already got struck by Nidorino's multiple stings attack, making his body stumble onto the ground.

I quickly recognize the attack as Poison Sting, an attack that has a chance to poison the enemy... a poison that's lethal enough to kill someone, someone like him.

At that moment, I feel rage. Rage that I've never experienced before. It's like that day all over again, but way worse. Anger slowly consume me, and I was starting to see red. I look at those 2 Nidorinoes, those that subject me through humiliation many days ago. They were stomping his hand, making him suffer before taking his life away. At that point, I felt something inside of me snap, then I stop holding back.

Light begins to shroud me, as my body grows larger and larger until I evolve into Nidorino. With the newfound strength and power, I destroy the enemies in my sight, using multiple barrages of my Fury Attacks.

By the time it is over, there was silence. I look toward the fallen human that was supposed to be my trainer, the one that gave me purpose to live on and help me in my conquest of vengeance. He gave me one last smile before fainting away.

That was when I made the decision that will forever change my life. I will become his pokemon, and he will become my master.

Ow... my head... Where am I...?

...Oh Arceus. Did I die?! Please don't tell me that I die. I still have so much to live for. Well... not that much, but I have a list of things I need to do before I die! Getting ladies! Becoming a billionaire! Write a book! And... and...

...huh. Didn't know they have a roof in heaven.

Actually, no. That's a ceiling. A white ceiling. In fact., that's some darn white ceiling!

...I think I'm still a bit high on that poison.

Wait, poison...? Yeah, that's right! I remember now! I was fighting and got hit by that Nidorino's Poison Sting. And just as when I was about to get killed, my Nidornino come to rescue and- ...oh dear, I hope that he is doing ok. Can't imagine what he's going through right now.

"Oh thank goodness! You're finally awake."

Wait, is that Nurse Joy? I didn't know they had one in heaven.

"I was so worried when that youngster carried you in here. If it wasn't for your pokemon, we might actually lose you." Never mind, I'm still alive.

Also, my pokemon? You aren't talking about-

"NIDORINO!"

Hey, wait! Slow down- Oof!

"Off! Off! You're heavy!"

"NIDORINO!"

"I know I know. I'm sorry, ok? Can you please get off of me?"

"...Nidorino"

"Thank you. Now... what was it again about a youngster that carries me here?"

"Oh! Well... why don't you go ahead and thank him? Come on in, Jim!"

Wait- ...Jim? No, it can't be-

"Hi, Gade! Long time no see!"

No no no no no. No! No! NO! WHY!? ARCEUS WHY!?

"Um... you, ok? You seem to zone out for a bit."

"Don't worry about it, Nurse Joy. He does this all the time." No, I don't you fucking cunt. Don't you dare spread false rumors about me!

"Ahem! Anyway, where exactly am I?"

"Right, you're currently at Route 3's pokemon center, located directly at the entrance to Mount Moon," Jim answers the question for me. "Also Gade, I was wondering if you'd like to tag along with me."

...huh?

"Wait wait wait, let me digest the information first." Breath in. Breath out. "Ok... So first of all, I'm in a pokemon center."

"Yes."

"Second of all, you want me to tag along with you."

"Mhm!"

"Which brings me to my third... why the hell would I do that?"

"Well, you were poor and you have nowhere else to go, you also owe me a rematch. Oh! and your Nidorino doesn't have a pokeba-"

"Ey! Ey! Stop! Ok, I hear you! I'll join you for a journey if that's what you want." For fuck's sake! Not while Nurse Joy is still here man! You tryna Rattata me out?!

"Great! I'll meet you outside then." And then he's gone. Phew! I manage to dodge a bullet right there.

"...Gade, what was that about a pokeball?"

Damn it! Quick! Play dumb!

"Oh um... I ate it."

Not that dumb!

"...really."

"...sigh, fine... I'll explain it to you." This is going to take a while.

"Are you insane?! You could've gotten yourself killed!"

"I know I know. But I'm still alive in the end... right?"

"Alive?! Do you know how lucky you are for you to not get handicapped?! Honestly, I would confiscate your pokemon right away if your Nidorino isn't considered a wild pokemon!

"...So... are you gonna call the authority on me?"

"Please! As if those men in blue would do anything about you. They weren't paid enough to care about some random broke teenage kid-"

"I'm 21" Nurse Joy is now glaring daggers at me. Probably shouldn't have interrupted her.

"Do. Not. Cut. Me."

"S-Sorry... please continue."

"As I was saying, you are the least of their concern. Right now, there's a group of thieves stealing pokemon from the other trainers, which is why I'm telling you to not do anything reckless, you hear me?!"

"I..."

"I said! Do you hear me?!"

"Y- Yes, sir yes sir!"

"Good! Now catch." Nurse Joy tosses something at me which I manage to catch before it hits my face.

"...wait... isn't this...?"

'A pokeball, yes. Use it to capture your Nidorino."

"But... I thought you-"

"Don't get the wrong idea, kid. I'm still not approved of what you did. However, if you're gonna tag along with that youngster, Jim, we can't have your Nidorino get captured by some random idiot."

Ouch, that hurt for some reason.

"Still, it is up to him whether or not he's going to stay with you. If what you've been telling me is the truth, then Nidorino here shouldn't have trouble with traveling with you."

With all of that being said, Nurse Joy leave the room, leaving me and Nidorino to discuss with each other.

"Well... now what."

"...Nido?"

Nidorino and I both stare at each other. For about 5 minutes, none of us speak up until I decide that I have enough of the silence and ask the pokemon bluntly. "So do you wanna tag along with me?"

Nidorino nods.

"Oh, ok."

More silence filled the room, making the room feel more awkward.

"...right, so... do you want to get in the pokeball... or...?"

"...Nido."

"...yeah honestly, I don't really know what to expect. Kinda hope that we would have a more heartfelt conversation."

"Nido?"

"Well... something along the line of how you have your own freedom, I'm not forcing you to come with me, etc, etc. things like that."

"...Nido."

"You're right. That would probably be cheesy as fuck. I'd prefer this awkward tension over a cringy moment any day."

"Nido, Nidorino." Nidorino nods his head.

"...hey, Nidorino."

"Nido?"

"Don't know if you notice this, but how exactly do you understand me?"

Nidorino contemplates for a while before answering "Nido! Nidorino! Nido, Nidoriiiiino!"

"Uh-huh, yeah. I have no idea what you're saying."

"...Nidorino."

"Guess it's a mystery for another day." Nidorino shakes his head, not sure if he's agreeing or disagreeing with me. "Welp! Time to get going then."

Just as I was getting up and leaving the room, I immediately reminded myself of something. "Oh right! Almost forget." I'm readying the pokeball that Nurse Joy gave to me and look at Nidorino sternly.

"Ready, Nidorino?"

"Nidorino!"

"Alright, Pokeball. GO!"

The moment that pokeball makes contact with Nidorino, his body dematerializes into red energy before getting sucked into the device. The pokeball then wiggles for a bit until a loud *CLICK* can be heard, confirming his successful capture. "Well buddy, guess this is how we're going to do it."
