Warning: a couple of fucks

Lily squealed as Sirius grabbed her left shoulder and wrapped his other arm around her sweaty neck. She yanked her head up, trying to get him to loosen his grip. Sirius let go and crouched before gripping the backs of her thighs and shoving her backwards.

A loud meow reached her ears just before she landed flat on her back on the grass with Sirius's face buried in her ribs. His fingers dug deeper into the soft flesh of her thighs, and she squawked when he pinched her. "Sirius! I'm ticklish, damn it!"

"Stop me if you can," he taunted, grinning up at her.

"Ow, can you two hurry up already? Shanky's not happy with you, Pads," James whined. He stood under the tree, trying to clutch Lily's squirming cat, Crookshanks, to his chest. The large, plump cat had already clawed her boyfriend's arms, but he still hadn't let him go.

Crookshanks hissed in response, baring his teeth.

"We're almost done, baby," Lily called out to James and Crookshanks. She turned back to Sirius and formed a plan to take him down.

Arching off the ground, she slipped backwards, wrapped her legs around Sirius's head, and grinned as his eyes began to widen. Before he could react, she clenched her muscles and twisted to the side, bringing Sirius with her.

It was his turn to squeal as she let go of his head but slithered down his body to straddle his hips. She grabbed his hands and held them near his head, smirking at his scowl. "Ha! Beat that!"

"I don't know if I should be worried or aroused," James called out. He was holding a furiously struggling Crookshanks by his armpits. Crookshanks snarled and arched his back, slipping out of James's grip before clawing his hand. James cried out and growled, "I swear, if Shanky bites or scratches me one more time, I'm kicking him."

Lily laughed at James's remark, but her laughter died down when Sirius wriggled under her to get her off him. Lily tightened her grip on his wrists. "You can't get away that easily."

"Watch me, witch."

Sirius suddenly bucked up and yanked his hands down to the side. Lily placed her hands on the grass to stop herself from face-planting. She scrambled to get back up, but Sirius wrapped his arms around her torso and buried his face in her chest, halting her attempt. He grabbed her left elbow and pulled it towards him; he used his legs to roll them over before straddling her again.

"I win," he declared.

Lily groaned and nodded. "Fine, you win—but only because I'm nice like that."

"Uh-huh, of course," Sirius teased before he got to his feet. He extended his hand towards her, and she smiled as she grasped it and allowed him to help her up. "This was fun. Wrestling with you is just as good as wrestling with Reggie. We should do it again soon."

"As long as I get to yank on your hair next time," Lily said lightly. All that anger she had felt earlier at Petunia's horrid letter had vanished, and a sense of calm enveloped her despite the bruises, scratches, and other marks that littered her body.

Sirius shook his head, and his long wavy curls bounced about his chin. "Nope. That's off-limits; I told you that already. Nobody except Moony gets to touch my beautiful hair."

"Yes, yes, I know," Lily grumbled under her breath as they walked over to James and Crookshanks.

The moment James dropped him to the ground, Crookshanks yowled and made a beeline for Sirius. He buried his claws in Sirius's calf and tried to scamper up his leg, biting every place he could sink his teeth into.

Sirius screamed and shook his leg. He grabbed Crookshanks by his waist and tried to yank him off, but Crookshanks only dug his claws in deeper. Sirius barked, "Get this thing off me!"

"He's just mad that you were beating his mistress up," James said, waving offhandedly.

"I wasn't beating her up, you imbecile. We were wrestling," Sirius snapped, elbowing Crookshanks in the face and getting bit in the process. "Ow, fuck, you fucking—"

"Leave the cat alone," James said, snickering at Sirius's scowl.

"But I didn't do anything! He started it!"

"He's innocent in all this."

"Innocent? He's a fucking fuckwit—" Crookshanks interrupted Sirius by clamping down on his hip and burying his claws into his groin.

Sirius screamed and bent over double, and Crookshanks finally sheathed his claws. Sirius fell to his knees and covered his groin with both hands. Tears streamed down his face, and he whimpered out weakly, "I'm going to kill that thing when I manage to get up."

"You mean if you manage to get up," Lily said, bending to pick Crookshanks off the ground. She cooed and kissed the top of his head, and he tilted his head to nose at her jaw. In a high-pitched voice, she said, "Was my baby worried about me? Aww, Shanky, I love you too."

Crookshanks nuzzled her shoulder and glared down at Sirius.

"Thank you for watching him, James," Lily said, standing on her tiptoes to kiss James's cheek. "We should get you to the infirmary though. I don't want your wounds to get infected or anything."

"What about me?" Sirius cried, still on the ground. "I'm the one who got beaten up by a bloody cat."

"That's so embarrassing." James grinned as he wrapped an arm around Sirius's shoulders and hoisted him up.

"Keep your mouth shut if you know what's good for you, Prongs," Sirius growled. "And you, cat. I'm coming for you."

Crookshanks hissed at Sirius over her shoulder.
