Finished TVD yesterday, finished TO today, emotions are pretty high. I'd say the finale, while heartbreaking, was a fitting end to the show.
Here's just an add-on from my side, it might break some rules of the verse and all that but its mostly for feels.
Klaus and Elijah found themselves in what looked like the bar, where Cami used to work.
"Where are we?" Elijah wondered. "Is this-"
"No brother, we are probably facing the dark which is trying to trick us with an illusion", Klaus ruled out the better possibility. "Well, we won't be fooled."
"There is nothing to fool, Klaus."
Klaus felt his heart skip a beat as he turned to see Cami walking to him, wearing a proud smile on her face.
"Camille", Klaus was close to tears as he held out his hand, reaching out to touch her face. Cami grasped his hand, kissing it as they stared into each other's eyes.
"It is not a trick, Klaus. It is true", Cami assured the man she loved, now taking his face in her hands. "You are not in any darkness, because you are better than that."
"So am I-"
"Yes you are", Cami assured. "You are. What you did-" She looked at Elijah as well. "Both of you, you two have earned your peace now, and can watch over your loved ones- Rebekah, Freya, Kol, Marcel, Hope."
Klaus had a smile at hearing his daughter's name.
"We have our peace here, and watch over them."
Both Klaus and Elijah saw Hayley now approach, Elijah's face showing emotion as his lip quivered. "Hayley, I'm so-"
"I do not blame you Elijah", Hayley assured him, embracing him as he embraced her back. "You did not remember."
"I'm so sorry", Elijah broke down as Hayley hugged him tighter, kissing his cheek and doing a 'shhhh'.
Hayley looked at Klaus and smiled as well. "Our daughter will have a better life because of what you did."
"Everything I do, I do for her", Klaus said firmly.
"Now you shall watch her grow into a wonderful woman, and make you proud", Cami assured Klaus, both of them sharing a loving look as they kissed each other happily, feeling good to be together once more.
And with that, after years of destruction and then redemption, both Klaus and Elijah were now at peace with Cami and Hayley at last.
I know they said somewhere in 'Legacies' that Klaus won't find peace till Hope does but I've never seen it so…
I don't ship Hayley/Elijah tbh, I ship Hayley/Klaus depending upon the Season, since that makes more sense, and outside of Klaus/Cami, its my favorite pairing for Klaus, but figured since this is totally post-canon, it will make more sense the way I wrote it here.
Anyway, hope all enjoyed and see you all next time with some other update.
