Coco Adel, Leader of Team CFVY woke up with a headache. So she got up from the top bunk closet to the window and walked over to the teams coffee maker. She desperately needed a some caffeine and she also liked to stay on brand hence the coffee maker. Velvet had once commented on the irony of that, but it didn't bother Coco in the slightest.
Still in a custom light brown t-shirt with her insignia on it which took an appearance of a golden crosshair she set up and started the coffee maker. She was also wearing a dark brown nearly black pair of sleep shorts and her hair was a mess. This is why she tried to get up earlier than the others as often as she can. While the coffee maker was running she went over to the team dresser, grabbed one of her outfits, and went to the bathroom to take a quick shower before getting dressed.
After a few minutes she was showered and dressed in her usual outfit. A long, cocoa-colored shirt with an upturned layered frill collar with a black single strapped waist cincher. She wears black trousers that have golden lining around the pocket and ribbons attached to the back of a golden zipper seam around her knees. A black golden studded belt is hidden by a large cocoa-colored belt with gun cartridges on the left side and a large golden buckle of her insignia. She also wears a pair of dark black, high-heeled leather calf-high boots with golden buckles.
Coco was still putting on some accessories and hadn't done much with her hair yet. She walked back over to the coffee maker putting on the finishing touches with her accessories while hanging her black wire rimmed aviator glasses on to her shirts collar. With that done she grabbed a cup and poured herself some coffee.
"Come to mama." She whispers in delight. With her coffee acquired she took a look to her teammates. Yatsuhashi was snoring lightly while hugging his pillow which nearly made Coco cough up her coffee, but she managed. Velvet was sleeping soundly on her side with her bunny ears twitching every now and then. Finally she looked at Fox who was apparently awake listening to music with some earbuds in.
Coco shrugs at the normalcy and decides to ready herself for class. That's when she finally realized she was in her usual outfit when she needed to be in her Beacon Academy school uniform. She grit her teeth before giving an agitated sigh.
"Forgot about the uniform again?" Came Fox's voice in a teasing manner.
"Zip it Fox." Coco says lowly. She then looks back to him. "Wait... how do you keep doing that?"
"It's a gift." He says. "Also I'm trying to find the music app but I don't know what app I'm on. So I've heard everything for the past thirty minutes."
Coco rolls her eyes before walking over to him. "Here let me help." She orders. Fox hands over the scroll and she finds that he had some how gotten onto the CCT Network search engine and had typed in a large number of random letters. "Forgot about the button?" She teases gaining revenge for his teasing a few moments ago.
"I hit it a few times." He says with a shrug.
After a quick navigation to the music app she hands him his scroll back. "Why didn't you use the voice command feature?" Coco asks.
"You three were sleeping." He answers. "I didn't want to wake you guys."
Coco smiles at his reasoning. Though unfortunately fate decided to have someone knock on the door. The noise woke both Velvet and Yatsuhashi causing Coco to sigh. "I got it." She says.
Walking over to the door she takes another sip of her coffee. She then opens it to see General Ironwood.
"Ah, Miss Adel correct?" Ironwood asks kindly.
"That's me." She says with a smirk. "What can I do for you General?"
"I have a mission for your team." He informs. "If your interested."
Coco smiles at that and was about to accept right then and there no questions asked but Velvet spoke up. "What kind of mission sir?" She was definitely still tired and in her PJ's. Behind her Fox and Yatsuhashi approached as well.
"What I can tell you is that the mission will be to investigate an village that's gone dark." Ironwood states. "After that I can only give you more details if you accept the mission."
Coco looks over to her team with a raised eyebrow. She saw them each nodding to each other and making gestures. She scowled as she realize they were having a conversation through Fox's telepathy without her.
Eventually they turned to Coco nodding. With narrowed eyes she put on her aviators before turning to look back at Ironwood. "We accept." She says.
"Good." Ironwood smiles in what Coco could tell was relief. "Get your things and be at the landing pad in two hours. I'll see you four then."
As the General left the team began getting their clothes and gear. Along the way Velvet stopped with an 'Oh!'. "We have to inform someone about the dance preparations in case we don't get back in time." She stressed.
"What about Team RWBY?" Fox offered.
"Don't they have to take care of Hope?" Yatsuhashi asked with a raised eyebrow.
Fox shrugs. "Ah right." He had forgotten about that. "JNPR?"
Velvet sighs. "Maybe. I trust Pyrrha, Jaune, and Ren." She admits. "I'm just a bit worried about Nora."
Down In Mantle, Atlas
Adam Taurus stood on a rooftop with his scroll in hand. On it was a swirly W. "Did they take the bait?" Adam asks.
"Yes." The man on the scroll answers with irritation. "Unfortunately however it's not everyone we wanted. Most of The Ace Ops are staying at the Academy. Had this been any other headmaster this would have been perfect, but at the vary least the one member is leaving."
"Should I be worried?" Adam asked with a chuckle.
On the other end the man broke into laughter. "Hardly. This was simply a test to see how James would respond, but it appears we'll need to give him more incentive."
"This, Is, WONDERFUL!!" Nora shouts causing Velvet to sigh. This is exactly who she was worried about. Currently Team CFVY and Team JNPR were in the Atlas Academy Ballroom. Several empty tables were scattered around the room.
"Don't worry Velvet." Pyrrha says kindly. "We'll make sure the party is properly planned."
Velvet smiles. "Thanks Pyrrha." She then looked over to Coco who was sitting at one of the tables looking bored. "Well, we should get going then. I'm counting on you." As Velvet begins to leave much to Cocos delight Team JNPR wave goodbye.
"Take care!" Nora shouts.
"Be safe!" Pyrrha adds.
Velvet smiles to herself. Knowing that their friends care about their well-being was enough for her to be happy despite the mission they had before them. Though Velvet didn't miss Coco whispering "Finally." To herself.
Team RWBY walks down the street of Mantle with Hope getting a piggy back ride from Yang. "Any ideas for something fun?" Yang asks.
Weiss smirks as she looks to Ruby who was holding a massive grin. "Perhaps." Weiss answers vaguely. The two had come up with a plan for the day though they hadn't said anything about it to Blake and Yang.
Blake herself wasn't even paying attention to the others as she was following up on all of the news regarding Willow Schnee's acquisition of the Schnee Dust Company, and her divorce with Jacques Schnee. Blake suspected Willow had a lot of help from Ironwood in insuring the divorce went quickly and greatly in Willows favor.
"So you do have a plan." Yang says with an blank look.
"Technically Ruby came up with the idea." Weiss admits. "I didn't even know Atlas had one."
"Had one what?" Yang asks. She was getting slightly irritated by being kept in the dark on this.
Ruby giggles. "Trust me you'll love it." Ruby assures.
"What will Yang love?" Penny asks causing all five of the girls to jump and in three cases scream. Penny and Jet giggle at the reaction.
"Penny! Why do you keep doing that!" Ruby asks in frustration causing Yang to laugh. Penny and Jet walked up to them with Jet holding her mothers hand.
"I think at this point she's doing it on purpose." Blake whispers to Yang who shrugs finding the event amusing.
"Sorry for startling you." Penny says with a smile.
"Don't worry about it." Yang says waving it off. "More importantly." She turns to Ruby. "Care to tell me what it is I'll 'Love'" Yang questions.
"Yes!" Penny agrees eagerly. Then she gasps. "Is it a man?" Yang bursts out laughing while Ruby sighs. Weiss rolls her eyes but smiles nonetheless.
"No Penny." Weiss denies. "It's not a man, but it's a fun activity for family and friends." Weiss explains.
"Your more than welcome to come with." Yang invites.
"Yeah!" Ruby agrees.
"That sounds like fun!" Penny says. "Are you sure we wouldn't be intruding?"
Blake chuckles. "It's fine Penny." She then looks to Jet. "Though may I ask who this is?" Blake asks gesturing to Jet.
"Oh!" Penny exclaims. "This is my daughter Jet."
Weiss frowns recalling what the first time they saw Jet, and what she said. 'Thank you for taking care of Mosura.' "Jet?" She asks hesitantly earning the smiling girls attention. "When we first met you, you knew about Mosura. Might I ask how?"
The little girl beams in glee. "Of course!" She says. "I am her humble servant just as I am yours." Weiss was taken aback by that answer. "As you can Guess I was born from the cosmic energy of the cosmos." She explains. "When you interacted with my Mother the cosmic energy that flows through you as Mosura's mother created me." She then lifts her free left hand as it separates showing her mechanical nature and a cannon in her arm.
"O-kayyyy..." Weiss says in concern. "I have several more questions."
"I'll be happy to answer them as best as I can." Jet states in glee. Penny looked concerned.
"Wait." Yang starts. "Let me get this straight, when Weiss touched Penny, you were created."
"That's correct." Jet answers.
"Wow Weiss." Yang says with a smile. "You didn't even buy her dinner first?"
Weiss looks to Yang in confusion when Blake snorted while Ruby began giggling. Weiss was confused on what Yang meant for a moment. Then the joke dawned on her. "YANG!!" Weiss shouts angrily at the blond who began laughing. "There are children!!! And why did you have to make it weird?!"
"It was already weird." Yang says with a smile. "I was simply pointing it out." Weiss looked absolutely furious at Yang.
Penny walked over to Weiss and patted her shoulder. "It is alright Weiss. I do not hold this incident against you. Because of you I have the honor of being my Daughter Jet's Mother." She states. Yang started laughing harder.
Weiss whines to herself their hands covering her face. After a moment she finally looks up Penny. "I'm so sorry to get you involved in all of this."
"There is nothing to be sorry about." Penny assures. "I'm sure we all have questions about this situation." It was at that moment an object fell right onto Penny's head knocking her down with an 'ow!' When she sat up with help from the others she noticed everyone started staring at her forehead. In confusion she reaches up and grabs horseshoe shaped object and pulls it off with great effort. The object was a magnet. "Oh."
"Sorry!" Shouted out a person several stories up in the building they were next to.
Penny then looked back to the others. "Perhaps you all have more questions?" She asks worriedly.
"You could say that." Yang answers with a confused gaze fixated on the magnet.
Velvet Scarlentina and her teammates had entered the Bullhead completely geared up and ready for their mission. While Fox, Yatsuhashi and her took their seats they watched as their team leader flirting with the woman piloting the Bullhead. "Oh stop you." The pilot says with a giggle.
Velvet leans over to Fox. "20 Lien says we see that pilot in our dorm after the mission." She suggests.
"No way. I'm not taking that bet." Fox denies.
"Yatsu?" Velvet questions.
"I'm with Fox on this one." Yatsuhashi states.
"That's fair." Velvet says with a shrug.
Earth
Dr. Serizawa looks off to Infant Island from the ship with concern. Kong had left a long while ago leaving Godzilla alone on the Island. He watched as a massive beam of blue Atomic energy shot up into the sky.
Remnant
"So how did that magnet stick to your head?" Yang asks.
Penny cringe's slightly. "Well I, uh..." Penny was hesitating. She was afraid. She didn't want to lose some of her only friends. That wasn't even mentioning the fact that General Ironwood didn't want anyone knowing about her secret. Just then however Jet tugs on Penny's sleeve.
"It's okay mother." Jet says. Penny smiles lightly at Jets encouragement.
With a sigh Penny looks back to Team RWBY. "I'm sorry." She says. "But I'm not... a real girl." Ruby frowns along with Yang, Blake tilts her head with a raised eyebrow, and Weiss had an unreadable expression.
"What do you mean?" Ruby asks.
"All of you were born." Penny says. "I was made. I'm the first synthetic person capable of generating an Aura." Penny looks down with a saddened expression. "I'm not real." Penny closes her eyes as she hears one of the girls walking forward. Then she feels the shock of someone flicking her forehead. Startled she flinch's back opening her eyes to see Yang smirking at her.
"Don't think so poorly of yourself." Yang says. "Your as real as any of us."
"Yeah!" Ruby agrees. Weiss simply nods.
"Just because your made of metal doesn't mean your not real." Blake adds. Penny held a confused look.
Weiss rolls her eyes at Penny's reaction. "Listen Penny, do you have thoughts and feelings?" Weiss asks.
"Um... yes?"
"Do you have an Aura?"
"Yes."
Weiss smiles. "Then you have a soul, and you can choose who you are." Weiss claims. "Your just as human as me, Blake, and everyone else."
"I'm a Faunus Weiss." Blake says with a smug look. Weiss was about to retort to explain her meaning only to see Blake's look.
"I'm not falling for that again." Weiss says with narrowed eyes.
"Again?" Ruby asks.
"Happened back a Beacon. It's not important." Yang says. Weiss nods before turning on her heel.
Ruby shrugs following her. "Come on let's go have some fun!"
Roughly twenty minutes later Team RWBY, Hope, Penny, and Jet all stand in front of a large warehouse sized building with the words "The End Zone: Don't Get Tagged!" In big neon red letters. Weiss and Ruby shared a grin. Yang was looking at the words in confusion.
"Hey Ruby?" Yang asks. "What is this place?" Ruby simply giggles before walking inside with Weiss right behind her.
Blake shrugs. "Guess we'll find out." She says following after her team leader and teammate.
Once inside the group of seven approach a long black counter with a woman behind it in a white camouflage jacket. "Hello and welcome to The End Zone."
Weiss hands over her Schnee Company debit card. "One game for seven please." Weiss says. The woman nods taking the card.
"Are any of you over the age of Eighteen?" The woman asks. Blake, Yang, and Penny shared uneasy glances.
"No." Weiss says.
The woman nods. "Are you students from a combat school?"
Weiss nods. "We're from Beacon Academy." She says gesturing to her teammates. "And she's from Atlas Academy."
After swiping the card she grabs seven blank cards and hands them to Weiss. "Put these cards in those machines there and follow the instructions listed. I'll be here if you have any questions." Weiss thanks the lady and passes out the cards. The machines the woman was talking about were computers with a camera. One simple needed to input a "GamerTag" and take a photo. Once they were done the woman told them to go down the hall and enter room four.
It didn't take to long. Once they got there they opened the door and a man in an combat vest was waiting. He greeted them with a smile. "Welcome to Combat Floor Four." He says. "I'm your rule and safety instructor." Yang raises a hand. "Yes ma'am?"
"What is this place exactly?" Yang asks. "Our friends been keeping it a surprise."
The man chuckles. "Well now this here is a game called Lazer Tag."
Everyone, excluding Weiss and Ruby, widened their eyes. "Wait seriously?!" Yang asks in excitement. "This is gonna be awesome!"
After a brief rundown on the rules everyone was putting on the matching black vests and headbands with red sensors on them. The instructor had explained that once your 'dead' the red lights would flash on from the sensors and stay on till you returned to the respawn point. They each had a grabbed the weapons which were Lazer version assault rifles with single fire and burst fire modes. The children were given smaller and lighter versions of the guns which Weiss thought was cute.
Once they were all set the instructor lead them through another door to the Combat Floor Four red team respawn zone. The game they would play as the instructor explains would be Capture The Flag. Each side would have a flag by the respawn area for the corresponding team. The goal was simple. Steal the enemy's flag and defend your own. The group was ready.
"Now one more thing." The instructor says. "Semblances are not permitted on the field for safety reasons. Understood?" Everyone nodded. The instructor then tapped his earpiece. "Hey Leonard is blue team ready?" After a moment he nods. "Alright you can go when the buzzer goes off. Get ready."
The seven held up their guns testing their hold on them for a moment before getting ready. Once the buzzer went off the girls rushed into the massive man made combat zone. It took the appearance of a Grimm torn city with plenty of windows and small houses to hide in and shoot from Ruby and Yang went off to the left side while Weiss, Hope, Penny and Jet all took the right. Weiss couldn't tell which way Blake went.
Peaking around the corner Weiss saw three men in green vests with matching guns. They hadn't seen her yet. Weiss double checked her weapons setting noting it was on single shot. She then looks over to Penny and holding up three fingers. Penny nods and raises her gun in the next second the two turn the corner and open fire on the unsuspecting enemy players. Each of their vest lit up signifying them as 'dead'. Weiss smiles only to hear a soft beep and noticed that her vest had lit up. She pouted as she saw a fourth man who had been hiding. Looking over she noticed that Penny was hit as well. The girls sigh as they make their way back to spawn while their daughters giggle at their expense from the safety of the corner.
With their mothers walking back to spawn Hope peaks around the corner slightly seeing the last man cautiously approaching. She smirks and crouches down before turning the corner quickly and shooting the man twice causing his vest to light up.
"Nice shot!" Jet says. Hope giggles. The two quickly rush down the hall to and look through a window to the left. They see Yang firing her rifle only for her vest to light up as she says "Come on!" In frustration. They then see the two responsible for the attack against Yang as they walk right by the spot Yang had just been standing. A second later they saw Blake pop up from behind a window ready to shoot only for the two to shoot her first. She sighs and begins walking away. They then see both of the mens vests light up as they hear Ruby laugh in the distance.
Hope shakes herself away from the window remembering that they had to find the flag before the other team got back from respawning. The two quickly continue through the mock buildings and ally's only to run right into the four they encountered earlier. Hope shoots in a panic along side Jet lighting the four vests up. They had been lucky the four were chatting instead of paying attention to the game. Two of the guys laugh at their own misfortune. "Good luck kids!" One shouts with a chuckle.
Soon they found the flag. Hope grabbed it and tucked it into her vest as she turned around. Jet had lifted her gun and started shooting. "Go I'll cover you!" Hope looked to see the two who originally went to the left side with Ruby and Yang hiding behind a corner down the hall waiting for Jet to run out of ammo. Hope then rushes back running into Penny and Weiss.
They both take note of the flag. "Keep going young Hope! We'll keep them distracted." Penny says. Hope giggles and continues her rush back to spawn without worry. When she gets their she shows the instructor and he grins. He then press's a button on the wall. A buzzer sounds and a voice over the intercom says. "Capture the flag, round one Red Victory!" Hope smiles from ear to ear. This activity was shaping up to be her favorite.
Warehouse In Mantle, Atlas
Neo and Mercury watch as Roman paces back and forth nervously. In all their time of working together Neo had never seen Roman worrying like this. This in turn made a Neo worried about how this job was going to go. Once the job was over she knew he would relax and return to his usual self.
"So." Mercury says breaking the silence. "Do we have a plan?"
Roman stopped pacing. "No but our employers do. We're waiting for Adam to get here with it."
"Who's Adam again?" Mercury asks.
"The White Fang nut with the bull horns." Roman explains. "Once he and those animals that follow him get here we can go over the plan, and get the job done." Roman sighs before pulling out a cigar and lighting it. He puts it to his lips and breaths in the smoke letting it calm his nerves as he puffs it back out. This was going to be a long week.
